Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the friendly staff, excellent location, and unique design, but expressing dissatisfaction with the small room size, noise levels, and cleanliness issues. I typically love Moxy hotels and was eager to stay in the D.C. location. However, the staff seemed slightly annoyed, the lobby smelled like something was burning, and I was up until 3 a.m. the night of my flight out of the city due to a LOUD wedding party next door to my room and all down the hall that made noise all night. All in all, it was a very disappointing stay.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff. Great location within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, museums, and the metro line.
- 5/5
Very clean and very good use of small space. It was completely functional and I didn’t miss the extra square footage at all. Everything was clean and modern and cute. Lovely aesthetics and a nice chill vibe.
- 5/5
The hotel itself was absolutely wonderful, there was karaoke in the lobby, the World Cup viewing another night, and the last day I was there the lobby was decorated for LGBTQ+ who had a conference that weekend in the area. I was there for a conference as well and was in walking orange of the conference, different food selections and more. The only issue I had was that there were big rats running around outside and big bugs that look like roaches. Other than that the facility itself was beautiful and clean. They even had a Keurig with free cups and bar downstairs in the lobby and a rooftop bar. 10/10

Security deposit was never returned and the hotel should have ignored me.

Staff was extremely helpful.

I was in town to drop off my kid for a summer internship. The energy and vibe at the hotel was fantastic! The room was very funky and chic. The staff were super helpful and the restaurant food (breakfast) was yummy. Will definitely be back.

Whenever I come to Black DC Pride, I stay at the Moxy. Great vibes, great staff, walking distance from most of the events and bars/clubs. So many amazing memories due to the excellence of this hotel
- 4/5
HOTEL was very nice and staff was very personable! I just wish especially for the price that the rooms were bigger. They are very small, although it is very convenient and in a good part of the city it is almost a disservice due to the amount being charged in comparison to the square foot. But as far as the actual property, it was good.

We stayed Memorial Day Weekend, and for some reason, the hotel chose to change all the door locks that Friday. It caused a huge disruption and we ended up needing to go back down to the front desk twice to try to get into our room. The front desk staff was not very friendly when it was busy, but at other times when it wasn’t busy, they were more friendly. The room is small but clean. The elevator is slow and there is basically only one.
- 2.5/5
The staff was amazing The room was entirely too small, no ice on the floors not like the other Moxys i have stayed at
- 4/5
Clean room, it was smaller than normal hotel rooms but we didn’t spend a lot of time in it so it was ok. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
This is the only place that I will stay in DC. This was my second time staying there and I absolutely loved it. Great location and the staff is amazing. It’s a total vibe.
- 5/5
Be aware and do your research. The room is not very big but it was perfect for our weekend. We had many opportunities to go to the library on the 2nd floor and games on the first. The rooftop bar was the hit for us! Absolutely loved the Moxy and we will be back.
- 4/5
Good location, near the convention center, shops and restaurants. Room was small but ok one person. A bit loud, as you could hear sounds from the lobby bar and other rooms in room. Didn’t use it but the gym looked nice.
- 5/5
Good vibe, well designed.

I attended a conference at the Westin a block away, but stayed at the Moxy due to price. I was impresssed with the slimmed down operation at the Moxy. The room was small, but that is part of the deal, it had everything I needed. I will stay here again in the future.

Close to metro and staff here All so friendly and helpful

I was worried when I arrived as I was traveling for business and there was a DJ in the lobby and lots of noise. The front desk was also acting as bartender, so check in was slow. However, once I arrived in the spotless room with a comfy bed and realised the sound didn't reach the room, I was content and happy with the accommodations. The woman who checked me out was lovely and made up for the night prior. Party in the lobby upon arrival and therefore extremely long check-in (I arrived around 9:30pm).

Everything at the moxy is always great, check in/check out was smooth, the vibes were definitely there the whole weekend. Will definitely book again
- 3.5/5
Well located and an interesting design concept. The glass bathroom walls and the size of the room was just a little too small to be comfortable. They were unable (or unwilling) to tell me what they were charging me extra for when I was checking out. Had the same problem at the Moxy in Seattle last year
- 5/5
The room was clean, the crew are great! Very friendly. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the woman that worked the night shift of 5/23. That was the last time we saw her. We had a question about the area and needed ice. She always smiled and greeted us. Out of all the staff and all were wonderful, her demeanor stuck with me. Kindness is always remembered. The room attendant, took care of our room the first day. We did not need service for the next day. Coming back to a fresh bed and clean room after a full day of sight seeing was nice. This was my 1st stay at a moxy. I definitely will stay again, and again! Next time I will get a room with a fridge. I had medication that I needed to keep refrigerated and I had to keep it in a cooler. That was a great inconvenience! Had I realized that before I booked, the moxy would not have been my choice. Later I realized that there wasn't a fridge. A microwave isn't needed, but a fridge in a room should be a mandatory item.

I didn't get a chance to experience the bar or the rooftop. That is on my agenda for the next stay. Staff was wonderful. View was great. I enjoyed the decor. Room was clean over all, it was just a few minor things that could've been better. Like tile in shower needed to be scrubbed for spots. Sink had a leak.
- 5/5
Perfect location!!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
Wonderful hospitality! Would stay here over and over again.
- 5/5
room & view & bathroom/ shower great. central to everything DC, very safe location. restaurant on the roof great, but make a reservation.
- 3/5
overall my stay was just okay. the woman that checked me in was very sweet to me and kind. i got to my room and i didn’t expect it to be so…small. the bathroom was beautiful though. the door to my room though gave me problems, the extra lock was very loose so the hotel needs to fix that immediately for people’s safety. the breakfast was so mediocre i decided to just eat while i was out. my stay wasn’t horrible staff was pleasant, i will say when trying to get a drink i had to wait because the bartender was talking and drinking which was…idk! i don’t think i would come back to the moxy which is a bummer because i was excited to check it out.
- 3/5
A few things went wrong, first, I got stuck in the stairwell because there’s no way to get onto your floor from the stairwell. I walked up to the 5th because there was some sort of rooftop event and I was waiting forever for the rooftop. Once you get up there there’s no key card readers so you can’t get in and I had to walk back down to the 1st floor. Secondly the bar staff was not friendly at all. Waited until I sat down and got situated to tell me the bar was closed. Also a different night waiting to get a drink and receivinf no service while watching one of them put Hennessy in their cup (Wednesday evening 7:00 - 7:30pm 5/6) towels are pretty much sand paper! And lastly there’s not a single hook in the room that you can hang a coat from. They have a ton of short rods to hang things from and every one of my garments was dragging on the floor- 3 feet off the ground. It just wasn’t a great experience. Great location, poor attention to details.

Conveniently located The room was really small, the staff were disinterested & unhelpful (they also provided minimal information leading to some disappointment during our stay). The breakfast options were limited & expensive for what they were.

Simply a great hotel, my wife & I are ‘older’ and this a young vibe place but we loved it, great view, accessible location, rooftop bar, good gym. Next time in DC I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Moxy. The first night was eye-opening. They had Karaoke going on for some late evening entertainment. While, smaller than traditional hotel rooms, the room was perfect for me. I'd definately stay there again.

- 4/5
I liked the vibe of the hotel, the rooms looked really nice and was comfy, and the staff was fantastic! They were really nice and kind Our room was a bit small and not well built so it was a bit awkward moving around.
- 5/5
Our first trip to DC. We stayed in a corner room that was very comfortable. The room (and location) made it a perfect place to anchor various trips out to explore. We mostly walked to many of the attractions and found the Moxey to be a comfortable place to return and hang out until our next excursion. Very nice, highly recommended.

A great stay in DC! Clean and comfy.

The staff was great. I forgot her name, but she helped me find a birthday plan for my stay there. Breakfast and drink was great also
- 5/5
This was probably the best hotel that I’ve ever stayed in!! There is always something to do! The front desk and bar crew went above and beyond and made our 3 day weekend feel like home! I will be back!
- 5/5
Parking was a bit confusing. I thought there was no parking at the hotel so paid on spothero to get a spot and it ended up being valet from the hotel
- 3/5
Location was perfect for our stay. Check in staff were quite rude and dismissive - not the best welcome. As for comfort, our room was fairly basic with not many amenities. The bed was very firm which I found to be uncomfortable. It was also noisy from the street noise overnight.
- 5/5
This place was amazing. It was really fun, clean, quirky, reasonably priced and in the middle of everything. Great location. The rooftop bar was fun (get a reservation) and we loved the lobby games, free drinks and outdoor seating. The bathrooms in the rooms are very modern with beveled glass and slightly see through, so be aware of whom you share a room with!

- 5/5
The staff were so nice, the location is great, and the outdoor spaces were such a treat. The rooftop bar was a lot of fun and the food was great. Rooms are small but fine for solo travelers or couples spending most of their time in the city and not the room. The bathroom is indeed a fogged-glass style room in the hotel room, so don't go with anyone you wouldn't want to see your blurry figure haha.

Rooms are Spartan. No closet, chair or table, no food just a grab n go. This was like a tiny dorm room on top of a coworking space. People come the crowded rooftop bar but that is not my scene. Bathroom was tiny but well organized. Had a small fridge but it blocked the shades from going down alkl the way. Net, if you are under 30, without a companion this is tthe place for you. Two people in a room is a Marx brothers comedy.

- 4/5
Unique atmosphere. One downside is the hallways and elevators were SO warm. Not good when you're sweating before you step outside :)
- 4/5
Stayed here for a work trip. Room was cute and comfortable. There were two waters when I got there but they never brought new ones. Check in was super easy and I was very appreciate they were able to get me into my room early. However the bartender seemed kind of rude and the person at the desk was also not very friendly. They have a sign for mimosas but told me they were out at 11am Sunday. Rooftop bar was supposed to be open Sunday at 5 but supposedly the managers decided to close it. I’d stay here again but the hospitality downstairs could definitely use some improving. Could’ve been just the crew for the weekend because Friday check in and Monday check out were fine.

the room was tiny. i mean tiny. the set up with the bathroom gave no privacy whatsoever. the reception staff were not as helpful as hoped. simple questions regarding parking and transportation we were left hanging.

The hotel is very convenient to the convention center and a short walk or ride to many of the local attractions. The hotel obviously targets a younger demographic, and on first impression, it is fun and funky. The primary issue with the hotel, however, is the room, and there are many reasons I would never stay there again. First, the room was so small and compact that you were either tripping over each other, your suitcase, or the bed. The bed, while comfortable, is a king-size in a space where a queen-size would likely be too big. The TV is also disproportionate and right on top of you. A bigger issue, however, is the lack of privacy. The shower is a slightly frosted-glass "cage" near the middle of the room. You practically see everything from anywhere in the room. There is one window blind and no curtain, meaning you cannot see to function in the room without lights during the day, and when the blind is up, it exposes you fully to the office buildings across the road. A trip to the restroom means your roommate/spouse/significant other can experience the whole process with you. The wall decorations and ceiling are bare concrete from construction, and the sheets/comforters are wafer-thin coverings.
- 4/5
Nice boutique hotel centrally located. Very small rooms.
- 5/5
Lovely central location with walking distance to everything.
- 4/5
The shower in our room was fine but you had to get in to turn the water on so you couldn't wait for it to warm up. Also the hand held shower had no shower head in it so it gushed out and hit me in the face. The room was cute. The hotel/bar was nice and modern looking. They had many games for guests to play on their own. The staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Clean and cozy room. Nice location. Close to national mall.
- 5/5
The best stay for a weekend trip, had the best water pressure I’ve ever had in a hotel. Keep in mind if you go during the weekend their will be a line for the rooftop and you have to have a key card to go to places within the hotel, so you will have to share the elevator with visitors.

Nice hotel, great location. Terrible internet. Would be better if they have higher hooks for hangers so clothes don’t drag on floor
- 5/5
The room was small, but clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. The bagel, egg, and bacon sandwich might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I did try the rooftop lounge on Saturday evening; the view was nice, but the music was very loud and it had the overall vibe of a club rather than a restaurant. I was on the floor below the lounge and did not have an issue with noise.
- 4/5
The heating and cooling in my room did not seem to work. The room was extremely warm and humid when I checked in and at night the temp would drop to 65. However, the staff was great and the patio and bar were fun. It is a cool place to stay when in DC.

My only complaint was when it came to requesting basic supplies. When we needed simple items like toilet paper and an extra blanket, it felt like there was hesitation or resistance in providing them. The beds also did not have a proper blanket, which made the room a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, when I asked for an extra pillow, it seemed like it was an inconvenience for the staff. Overall, the atmosphere and the staff’s personalities were wonderful, but the process of getting basic room necessities could definitely be improved to make the stay more comfortable for guests.

I did not have wifi in my room for the entirety of my stay. I went to the front desk and asked for help; they gave me the phone number for technical support (for several hotel chains). Tech support said it was an issue for the building, gave me a case number and said they would call me when it was resolved...and still wasn't resolved when I checked out two days later. The bartender/receptionist (yes, you check in at the bar with the bartender) was unhelpful, and I felt like I was being gaslighted-- "no one else is having a problem."

The hotel is well located and quiet at night. The lobby presents a vibrant, design-forward concept that will likely resonate with a younger, more minimalist-oriented traveler. It has a very urban vibe that many might like and it has a great social environment. The room felt like a prison cell, with exposed concrete finishes and minimal furnishings that lacked warmth or comfort. Basic amenities such found in hotels were missing, which significantly reduced convenience during our stay. Additionally, the thermostat was inconsistent and the elevators frequently smelled of marijuana, detracting from the overall experience.

I travel all the time, love small hotels. This was the best mini hotel that I stayed in all year. Love the bar, the entertainment and the food delivery. They cleaned my room every day. Two bottles of water (yes that has become a luxury item). I would recommend to everyone, except since I go to DC monthly for business, I do not want them to sell out. :) Great place to stay!

Good price. Free coffee and tea in lobby. Cheerful staff. Good location. No hot beverages in room - have to go to lobby. No fridge or microwave in room. No blanket on bed-just a super thin cover plus a thin bedspread. Safe too small for laptop. Parking so expensive.

For the price of the room I expected better toilet paper and for the bathroom fan to work.

The hotel itself was very nice. Great location.Service was less than expected from a Marriot hotel. The bar service was horrible. We were there for New Year’s Eve and the rooftop bar was closed. They opened the room so we can access the roof for fireworks but no champagne toast and we weren’t allowed to bring our own drinks either.

I absolutely loved my stay at the D.C. Moxy!! The staff was amazing, the atmosphere and general vibe was uplifting. The room was just what I was expecting, cozy/contemporary and clean. It was truly the staff who made this an ultimate best place I've stayed in a long time. Huge thank you to the staff, I cannot reiterate enough how awesome they were!

Amazing concept hotel with unmatched vibe. Clean and well-designed, with good use of space. It feels a bit like a cool hostel for grown-ups who enjoy community and a good time. I found the people who stayed here to be good to chat with in the elevator and lobby spaces. Being human encouraged.

By the end of my stay the hot water was barely working and stayed at just above lukewarm. Room did not get cleaned everyday. Front staff were hit or miss on friendliness. Trying to check in I had to actively try and wrangle attention from staff who were hanging out at the back of the bar. I liked that I had a corner room with lots of natural light but looked out to a dumpster and neighbors windows. Good location.

1. The tiles on the floor in the shower need to be fixed. 2. They should check the room temperature in the room. The air-conditioning was on and I was exhausted and was not able to change it to heat. I suffered all night long as I was freezing. 3. I was having problem reaching my room because I was not told about uding the door key on a gadget in the elevator to operate it
- 1/5
Incredibly negative experience. I recently broke my hip, and after a few months of healing and being able to finally walk, I decided on a trip to DC because I was cooped in weekend long. It started when I went to the rooftop bar. While ordering a drink the bartender was called away by another couple. He left to go deal with them and return. When I told him how rude and discriminatory that was, he responded by telling me how many followers he had and how he didn't care about the job. The next series of events were so disturbing that it killed my whole mood. I stayed in my room the rest of the trip. It was so horrible i would NEVER recommend that place

Room was small but very clean and cozy. Staff not so friendly but they were okay. Only can use credit they don’t do cash at all there

It was amazing! Everyone and everyone was great!
- 4/5
Clean room, cool vibe but not great for work; my room (concrete walls) was chilly and when I turned up the heat, there was no discernible change in temperature for many hours (and after an hour I cranked it but still no heat!). Combined with the very thin blanket, I had difficulties sleeping in the chilly room. Also, the "library" on the 2nd only has 3 walls and opens to the first floor on one side and so the noise and piped in music from the reception area make it too noisy for work that requires concentration. [And no desk in the room, so I had to work, uncomfortably from my bed. However, the staff were great, the shower was nice, and the bed was comfortable (except that it did not have proper bedding for a winter in DC).
- 5/5
Rooms were so clean and trendy! Staff was so nice. The amenities were amazing as well (gym/ironing room/rooftop bar/games and DJ in the lobby). Would highly recommend!
- 2/5
It was soooo loud! My room overlooked the trash. Everyday at 5:30am it was so loud! Plus one day they vacuumed the hall at 7 am, there was a loud bang as people drove in and out of the parking garage, you could hear people talking outside. I woke up every couple hours all night every night and I’m NOT a light sleeper! It was the least restful stay I’ve had in a hotel ever. I asked to change rooms and was told they didn’t have a quieter location. The room is so tiny only one person can really stay here. I could touch the shower from my bed. There was one small bedside table that barely fit my laptop to charge and that was the *only* surface I could put anything on in the whole room.
- 1/5
House keeping rude. Although the front desk: “Ken” was very nice and accommodating
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, quiet as well.
- 5/5
Clean, nice staff. Not many amenities though
- 4/5
The style of rooms and amenities that Moxy offers were what I needed on my trip, and this particular hotel was a very pleasant stay. My room had some plumbing challenges (and they may turn off the hot water at night..?) but the area and vibe were top-notch. Would totally stay again.
- 5/5
Very clean room and attentive staff.

We were not aware that the double beds were bunk beds. The two of us are 65 years old and older. We asked if they could accommodate us with the King bed.Nothing was available. We checked out soon after arriving.Attempt to get a refund was not successful.

Our experience was marred by a mishap with not properly unclogging a toilet that eventually over flowed and created a mess in our hotel room. Thankfully the hotel staff did respond quickly to clean up the mess. Another issue was the noise insulation in the rooms. There was an event going on that weekend and the noise level made it difficult to get quality sleep. I will say the hotel is maintained well and in a convenient location.
- 1/5
Besid s the rooms being extremely small, without any place to hang your clothes, the commode right next to a glass door, which was a yard from the bed, a nightstand on only one side of the bed, and space so tight that opening a suitcase was impossible, THERE WAS NO HOT WATER!!!! (as well as no coffee and no Breakfadt sandwiches) Service was mediocre, at best, with staff more interested in their phones than working. I understand that this was supposed to have a young urban, hip feel, but it actually just felt cheap, worn, and ugly Many shortcuts were taken at the expense of the guest. This hotel seems to cater to a demographic of younger people, who are gay, fringe and/or black. Being none of those, I was pretty much invisible to the staff. Bad service, and poor accommodations should cause Marriott to rethink this theme. Only the location saves it.
- 4/5
The property was great! Lively! Centrally located. Rooms are very small
- 3/5
Nice downtown location. Walking distance to White house

Great stay!
- 5/5
We absolutely love the concept of this hotel! The very best thing about the room is the endless number of hooks/pegs to hang our “stuff.” The common spaces are fantastic and inviting and we really liked the ironing Nhuch at the end of our hallway. No need to have an iron and an ironing board in every single hotel room. Two free drink tokens at check-in. Checkout was seamless. The room was clean and very quiet. We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great Location! And the rooftop is a Vibe
- 2/5
it was an OK stay the room is very tight though. The shades at the front window were stuck and we couldn’t get them up or down. Parking is very hard in the area. They had valet and we paid cash and we parked the car ourselves,at the front so technically it’s not valet.

Loved the library and games in lobby. The bar wAs fun. Outdoor seating.

We chose the Moxy due to its close proximity to places we were visiting. It allowed us to avoid a lot of the protesters.

I didn’t enjoy my experience at the hotel. The staff wasn’t very friendly. The hotel had a rooftop party setup above my room (1310) 9am in the morning on a Sunday. It was so loud.
- 5/5
great staff

Loved our stay!
- 2/5
The thermostat in our room did not work. I tried calling for staff and no one ever answered the phone. I went downstairs and asked at the bar several times and they said they would send someone up. They never did. We were able to open the window a bit but it was still very hot and hard to sleep. I knew the bathroom was glass, but I did not expect it to be so easy to see through. Be prepared for this reality! The shower door got stuck about a foot open while I was in it. Luckily I was able to squeeze out without someone having to come rescue me. I guess if you like to party this place is convenient, but if you want a comfortable place to sleep and go to the bathroom and shower, look elsewhere.

Rooftop bar losed at 9 pm. So disappointed.

Upon checking into the hotel Moxy staff were extremely happy and open armed. They welcomed us with bubbles and a smile the bunkbeds were fun, but a little uncomfortable. The hotel was full of things to do from the lobby to the mezzanine to the roof and during our entire day of the staff was nothing but amazing. The rooms were clean. The rooms were modern and the best part is when we checked out, we got a pole of ourselves to put on a sign in the lobby. Such a fun hotel. I look forward to staying in it again.
- 5/5
Great place great staff very clean such a chill vibe. One big suggestion would be great of they provided ice buckets or at the front desk they can provide ice buckets bc I had a few water bottles that were warm i went to ask for ice with an ice bucket but they didn't have any ice bucket's so they put the ice inside a clear bag. Thats the only part.

I stayed at the Moxy a few nights ago and left with multiple bite marks. After visiting my doctor, it was confirmed that they were flea bites. I do not have pets and have never experienced anything like this until during and after my stay. This is completely unacceptable, and I’m extremely aggravated!

My wife and I had a great stay. The staff was nice and the place was clean. The location is great.
- 3/5
- Excellent location: Just a 5-minute walk to my conference—convenience at its best. - High safety standards: I felt completely safe during my entire stay. - Competitive pricing: This hotel is definitely more affordable than others in downtown. **Negatives:** - Unacceptable lack of internet access: I could not connect in my room for two nights, and the hotel's standard response was insufficient. - Disastrous TV quality: The TV was subpar, making it impossible to watch; I opted not to use it at all.
- 1/5
No door between bed and bathroom and bathroom just a step away from bed. Didn’t expect this from Marriott.
- 3/5
Great location if you need to be at the convention center. The rooms are very small & they have a very limited breakfast. In fact for 2 days, they said the cook didn't come to work😁.
- 3/5
The overall stay was ok. Nice location. Excellent vibe. Truly a place for 20 and 30 year olds kind of place. The place is cute. Very active. The hotel is clean, no complaints. Just the size of the rooms, some are small, compact lofts. This must've been a former office building. Every space is used, very efficient size. If you don't require privacy or separation from your room & bathroom, then this hotel is for you. This is not a hotel for families with young kids.
- 5/5
My stay was pretty good. Room was small but clean. Downside was the view...looking into another building. Wish the food options in the hotel were better.
- 5/5
I initially thought the room was slightly too small for two people with luggage, but the water pressure was exceptional. The uncertainty surrounding the experience was part of its charm. Considering the cost, the stay was well worth it. The inclusion of two free drink chips for use at the downstairs bar was a pleasant surprise. Additionally, a variety of games were available to pass the time. The staff maintained a consistently positive demeanor, making my stay more enjoyable.
- 4/5
The hotel was fun and clean, a lot of common areas and cute spaces.

This is a great hotel, with knowledgeable staff that does their best to resolve issues. 5 out 5 stars. HOWEVER.. Please Please Please replace your valet company. I understand they are a third party, but they completely soiled my experience. No one is ever at the valet stand under the umbrella. They are hanging out by the bar inside or no where to be found. The day time Valet brought me my car in sport mode engaged, which tells me everything i need to know. The evening Valet guy was terrible and approached me as I was asking the front desk lady the whereabouts of the valet attendant. Save this beautiful hotel from mediocre third party companies that make you look bad!
- 5/5
Very different hotel. We went for an anniversary trip. Had a corner view room on the 12th floor. It was amazing. Rooftop bar didn’t disappoint either. Will definitely be staying again
- 2/5
It is not clear on Expedia that double rooms are bunk beds. Bunk beds. We paid for two double beds.
- 5/5
This property was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. From the customer service to the aesthetics, this is one of my new favorite places to stay. The room had an amazing view & very clean. Be sure to visit the rooftop bar! It’s gorgeous!
- 4/5
Good for the price.
- 5/5
The property is beautiful. You get 1 free drink at check in. The rooms have a nice view of downtown. The staff is nice and helpful
- 3/5
The rooms were extremely small. I guess I missed the notice about the size before booking. The Hotel had a great atmosphere for socializing and being in a fun atmosphere. The place was clean and contemporary. The front desk service was poor. The attendant was very unprofessional and angry about being at the job as they complained out loud to customers as we waited to check in.
- 4/5
Good for business trips.
- 1/5
The toilet kept clogging, and we had to keep calling maintenance to unclog the toilet when they should have just left the plunger in our room. Maintenance took forever when we requested more towels and blankets. They never came. The hotel manager was not attentive to our needs which made this very unpleasant day. I was expecting more from a Marriott hotel.
- 5/5
Such a unique hotel. Extremely fun. We enjoyed the library area to play games and relax out of our room.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 4/5
I liked the uniqueness of the hotel and the employees I came in contact with.
- 3/5
Water came thru the windows during a rain, they said they would send up a techs and sent a guy with towels to wipe up the water from the floors! No apologies, no mention whatsoever about it.
- 4/5

- 5/5
Really love this hotel…

Plus side, I really enjoyed the free drink token and lively staff and atmosphere

I stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the experience. For two nights in a row, there was no hot water in my room. After coming back late from an event, tired and wanting to shower, I had no choice but to deal with freezing cold water not once, but twice. I contacted the front desk, and while they acknowledged the issue and said others had complained too, no solution was provided. I was told my refund had to go through Expedia since I booked through them yet no one at the hotel offered to help resolve or even properly document the situation. I expected at least basic amenities for the price I paid. A cold shower, especially after a long day, is unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until they fix these issues and treat guests with more care when problems arise.
- 3/5
Booked this hotel last minute due to a flight delay so only slept here for less than 8 hours. Hotel check in desk is literally at the bar which was weird. Room was super small but was okay for just me. Two people plus luggage would not fit in that room comfortably. There was a rooftop party going on. It seems like a hotel for partygoers . It’s was fine for the situation I was in
- 5/5
Great!
- 1/5
Moxy DC is a very happening place if you happen yo be into the vibe. But the rooms are tiny, don't have desks or desk chairs if you happen to have your laptop with you and want to use it. I used my room to change clothes for a wedding i was going to, fhdn drove back to Baltimore and slept at home.
- 5/5
This was a great experience for a boutique hotel, but a more than a parking policy would be nice or to be able to pay as part of the hotel
- 5/5
love the vibe
- 5/5
I liked the hotel and my room was amazing, except there was some toe nails next to my bed and like some long white hair on a towel. Other than that it nice.

The room was small. Two weeks still waiting for my refund from the hotel
- 5/5
I had a great stay at the Moxy. It's basic, but fun. They were always out of several food items that were on the really limited menu. The staff was friendly and the house keeping was impeccable.
- 2/5
Absolutely loved the design and aesthetic but the rooms were extremely small. I barely had room to fully open my suitcase. Also it took the shower about 5-10 minutes to get hot. Also there was no door handle to close the shower door from the inside and it was extremely heavy. It says they have a rooftop bar and restaurant but it’s restricted and you can’t get up there. They also were never open. The bar downstairs also didn’t open until late. Valet parking was 60$/night. That’s fine I don’t mind paying. But waiting 30/+ minutes to get your car is outrageous. They only had one valet working on pride weekend. Took me 40 mins and had to circle the block numerous times to park too because there was no valet at the stand. For a Marriott and as a Bonvoy member. I just thought the services and amenities promised were lacking and not up to par at all.
- 2/5
Cleanlyness bad, e.g. dead bugs on room floor at arrival, bar toilets like at a railway station. Service bad: lobby so noisy due to disco
