The hotel itself was in a great location, walking distance from everything. Hotel was clean. I did book two rooms and asked for conjoined rooms for the kids. Booked a month in advance and they could not accommodate us. The kids all had to stay in their own room, not even on the same floor which was very inconvenient and nerve wracking. The parking is about 75 dollars for the night, better off parking at the parking garage (1350 I Street) right next to it for 43 dollars for 24 hours.

I stayed at this location having selected it the night before I had to be in DC and only by the information listed online because it was within budget and because it a brand hotel I trusted. This is the FIRST TIME a hotel had exceeded my expectation…the best thing about the was that I could take the train directly from Reagan International and be within 20-25 minutes be in the hotel lobby because it was literally across the street…exactly as advertised…when they said a “few minutes” that was accurate as was being 10 minutes from the White House. These two options alone were priceless to me, especially as a solo traveler. The front desk workers were exceptional. The valet were quite nice & helpful in storing my bags when I arrived and kept them until I had to leave. Though there was no free breakfast, I took advantage of the restaurant’s offering and was allowed to eat there even if I had not purchased food from there…it was all PERFECT. Will stay there again!

I love everything about the room except for my Keriug machine didn’t work, but other than that no complaints. I would definitely stay here again as it’s convenient for a lot of things!

The hotel is in a great location in downtown DC. It was very convenient for me to travel in the area for things. The rooms were spacious and clean. The lobby bar was a nice place to grab a quick drink or bite to eat too. Also a big thank you to Anthony and Michelle at the front desk area. They both were so excellent with checking in or checking out and helping out with suggestions and ideas during my stay. They had excellent customer service always with a smile. They definitely represent the Hotel brand, and they make me want to return to this location again. When staying in Washington DC.

Good location overall, easy to get to by car, and 10 or so mins walk from the National Mall. Valet parking very expensive but there is a large and secure car park literally next to the hotel which was more than adequate for the one night we needed it. Hotel staff available at all times, useful as we arrived a little late, and check-in and -out was quick and easy. The room itself was comfortable and clean, with all expected amenities. Breakfast was good with a range of options, and I liked the fresh omelette and waffles station. Our room was overlooking the main road at the front of the hotel on a low-ish floor, which meant constant traffic noise even at night. In addition, there was a large metal cover on the road surface outside and it made a very loud clanging noise every time a vehicle went over it, which wasn't conducive to a good night's sleep, especially trying to get my young child to fall asleep with that racket outside. The air-conditioning unit in the room was also loud so we had to turn it off for the night. We managed to get some sleep in the end but if we had to stay for more than one night, the general noise would have been a major issue. The breakfast/dinner area was basic. In general, the hotel has a very functional/business vibe without any flair.

The staff were excellent. The location was great in terms of walking distance to wonderful museums. This can’t be beat. Sadly, the air condition system was extremely loud in the room. It was difficult to get a good night sleep. I don’t think I rested well. The entire time I was there.

They should make one aware that the room would be facing a fall, it was like staying in a cave. It was worn out and a little smelly, the air freshener didn't mask whatever they were trying to hide. The staff were very nice, especially the bell men.

Mediocre hotel. Staff were fine, not overly friendly, but not rude either. We did arrive around 10am and they allowed us to check in. We were on the 10th floor and the wallpaper in the hall by our room was held up with thumbtacks. Ice machine on the floor was sitting in a puddle of water. The room itself was clean and sufficient for our 2 night stay.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The front desk staff were overall very friendly. The room was clean and organized and had a pretty nice view overlooking the street. Room service is excellent as well. Overall out stay was amazing.

The rooms and restaurant were very clean. It is a kid friendly hotel. Loved the Easter bunny and eggs for the kids on Easter. The workers were always helpful. Too expensive to valet park, I would park in the lot next to it if I come again. The water leaked a lot out of the shower, so much it went into the room area even with towels on the floor. The AC unit was extremely loud. We didn’t get our room cleaned the one day even though we were out all day and we didn’t have the do not disturb sign up.

The location was great. Walking distance to most tourist attractions. How the front desk is unfriendly, didn’t even smile. Stated booked with a city view, they gave us a view of the back of building or just windows from the other side of a hotel. Requested for any upgrade, didn’t get a response.

Great property and location. Clean room. Very comfortable beds. Options for food on site. I feel like most hotels have front staff that go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. That wasn’t the case here. They were alright. Not rude. Just not very warm and welcoming. Didn’t look us in the eyes. Didn’t speak to us until we spoke to them. We didn’t have a hairdryer. We asked 2 times for one, and it never came even though it was listed on their amenities. Just little things that could have been better.

Poor checking experience. The guy who checked us in was clueless. Put us in a room much smaller and a different layout than we booked. I opened the door and immediately closed it and went back to the desk to get the room I actually booked. He didnt apologize for the mistake. Very poor experience.

It was central. Terrible experience. We were there for one night, thankfully not more. Not only was there loud construction in front of the building, the overnight staff talked loudly out in front of the building keeping us up most of the night. Extremely inconsiderate and rude. Then, bright and early at 8am, construction started again.

Great location withib walking distance to many historical sites, including the white house and national mall. The valets were very attentive. Parking is valet only with no in and out privileges. The hotel restaurant The Third Rail has delicious food and good special deals depending on the day of the week.

Upon entering the hotel late at night, I was searching for my room key in my purse in a dark entryway. Another guest kindly opened the door for us. Instead of handling this professionally, the night staff immediately became aggressive, rude, and accusatory. A staff member named John said to me, “Do you even stay here? You probably don’t even stay here!” An outrageous and disrespectful accusation toward a paying guest. When I questioned why he would speak to me that way, he condescendingly explained I needed a key card, which I was already retrieving and clearly understood. The situation escalated further when the second night staff member, Miles, told me, “Yeah, take your ass upstairs!” This language is degrading, hostile, and completely unacceptable, especially directed at a woman by 2 hotel staff. When I called the front desk twice requesting a manager, one staff member said the manager was unavailable, and the other pretended to be the manager and showed no concern whatsoever. This experience was intimidating, humiliating, and unacceptable. No guest should be treated this way, ever. Due to this incident, I will not be returning to this property and expect Hilton to address this seriously including refund or compensation for my stay. Until this behavior is addressed, I cannot recommend this hotel.

My son left his glasses in the room and we didn’t realize until hours after we’d checked out. Housekeeping found them and were able to quickly retrieve them for us when we stopped by later. It was a great place to stay with younger children. The loved the indoor pool and the closeness of the metro made getting to the museums easy even for my 5 year old.

If we were choosing to stay at your hotel parking should be automatically included.I also do not understand why the price had to be a whopping $60.00. I really expected better from Hilton location. I also wanted to touch base on the gym. The gym was entirely too small. It could only fit two customers at one time. The gym situation definitely needs to be resolved!

There’s a lack of customer service in this hotel. We had 2 rooms and had to change 1 room and they failed to update the status of 1 room that a guest walked into my daughters’s room. When I went to tell them, they acted like they “didn’t care” attitude. During the night, they charged my credit card for incidentals so I inquired about it. Talk about a lack of customer service, that person looked like I was such a bother to asked her. I have never had a hotel charge me multiple times for incidentals other than checking in. There’s no self parking so we relied on valet. Requesting your car required a text to valet but they had my number wrong so I had to wait for service but they couldn’t update my number. The valet is chaotic during evenings because the lack of self parking, we even had the valet “honked” at us, the guest. The room was good but I noticed a penny next to the lamp. That penny stayed there, which meant that never vacuumed our room. Housekeeping was good, they changed our towels and made our bedding. The only good thing about this hotel was the restaurant staff and it’s location. Other than that, it’s piss poor customer service. They really need to have better training on customer service especially when their job depends on guest services. I will definitely not be coming back to this Hilton facility and would not recommend others from being belittled in staying here.

The valet is chaotic during evenings because the lack of self parking, we even had the valet “honked” at us, the guest. The room was good but I noticed a penny next to the lamp. That penny stayed there, which meant that never vacuumed our room. Housekeeping was good, they changed our towels and made our bedding. The only good thing about this hotel was the restaurant staff and it’s location. Other than that, it’s piss poor customer service. They really need to have better training on customer service especially when their job depends on guest services. I will definitely not be coming back to this Hilton facility and would not recommend others from being belittled in staying here.

The manager and staff really care about people and providing an excellent experience. I would definitely return to stay at this hotel. Also, the hotel's convenient location in downtown D.C. makes it a terrific choice for tourists and business travelers.

We unfortunately forgot a bag in our room and we had a very hard time being able to get in touch with the hotel as their phone system was down for a long period of time. When we were able to get ahold of someone we were told that we would only be able to retrieve the bag the next day as they were not able to locate where the bag was, so that was a huge inconvenience for us, I ended up having to go back to the hotel the next day to retrieve my bag. I wish they had a better system for when someone forgets something behind, guests should be able to reach out to the hotel easily and retrieve back forgotten items right away instead of having the inconvenience to have to wait the next day to get it.

Hotel was within range of plenty of restaurants and cafes, room was clean, had a microwave and a mini fridge, housekeeping was prompt, only complaints I have is the parking situation (you have no choice but to use valet as they park the car for you in a locked garage, so you have to request the car 10 minutes in advance if you plan on going anywhere, and then you feel like you’re expected to leave a tip because they are valet even though you pay $59/night to park there), and the spot where you pull up to leave your car for valet is so small, it’s like playing Tetris when you have other guests trying to come and go and need to park so you don’t block oncoming traffic. And the shower in our room made both my boyfriend and I sneeze terribly every time we used it. Not sure if that’s because of the water or just our room, but we’ve never experienced anything like that before. I would stay here again if I couldn’t find anywhere else, I recommend to anyone not looking for anything overly fancy for a decent price, and be close to restaurants.

Family and I were in town for the marathon. This hotel was about a 25 minute walk to the mall, or a 5 minute walk to the metro which was very convenient. We had breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant every morning. Every day except Monday they had a buffet or menu option. On Monday they only had the menu available. Also, please note Expedia says the valet is $56 per night, when we were there it was $59 per night plus a $10 tax.

The location was perfect for us to walk to all of the attractions. It was close to restaurants-there were a variety of them. The staff was amazing, especially Anthony at the front desk who took good care of us and went out of his way to help us out. The option to store our luggage as we walked around the morning we checked out was so helpful. It was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this hotel! It is right across the street from a metro stop which made it convenient, but we weren't able to use it after the first day because the elevator was being fixed, and we needed it since we have a wheelchair bound family member (not the hotel's fault!). They honored my husband's Honor's Gold level, even though we couldn't get points due to booking through a third party. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

We did need to call him three times we had no towels or toilet paper or tissues in the room so maybe let's say he sucks. The rooms in this place were very nice and clean. When we checked in the woman was very nice and friendly. The rest of the time the front desk people weren’t so friendly and it seemed as though you were bothering them when you asked a question. The valet parking men were awesome!!! So friendly and accommodating. The worst experience we had was when we went to the pool. The water was cloudy but we just thought the chemicals were low. We went in and started finding toy rings on the bottom, stepping on them, so we took them out as we found them. That was ok. What wasn’t ok was I stepped on something then lost it, my boyfriend found it and picked it up and it was a piece of poop!!! I wanted to vomit!! I got right out and went to our room to shower. Maybe don’t let young kids in diapers allowed in the pool. Make sure it is clean and clear at all times!!

The Hilton Garden Inn was a nice stay, providing superb walking distance from all site seeing activities in the area. The surrounding area was somewhat safe and caused no concerns. Our room was nice and clean, however it did have an odd “musty” scent. The pool is unfortunately very small but decent if you have children. There is no complimentary breakfast and the paid breakfast within the hotel charges $18 for avocado toast but there is a Dunkin nearby. Overall our stay was pretty good and I would definitely consider returning.

This one's always very clean, easy to find a room, also easy to find so many amenities on a lower level, such as the pool and the gym. I would definitely suggest getting the breakfast included.Breakfast is very delicious and the waitress was phenomenal. All pros, however, my only con was not being able to select your room on the floor would I'd love to be on a higher floor. Overall, the room was nice and spacious. The bed felt great. A lot of good things to say about the stay. Very fast check in. Lobby, elevators, restaurant, and room all very clean. Staff was very nice. For the price you absolutely can't beat it. The downsides, the hallways smelled strange. Maybe it's just a city smell I'm not used to, but it wasn't real pleasant and fortunately did not leak into the rooms. Also, the street was extremely noisy at night. We were on a lower floor and it was non-stop most of the night. We didn't end up using them but I did look at them and the exercise room and pool were a lot smaller than I anticipated so if you're used to suburban hotel pools and workout spaces, you will be disappointed.

The staff at the front desk are excellent! However, the waitress really need to improve their attitude and serving manner. Let me explain, I got the free breakfast (buffet) and they give us the couple for it. Everyone knows buffet is people serving themselves. So, the tips are not really “mandatory”. However, the waitress gave us the worst face expression towards us that we ever experienced after she noticed we didn’t give 20% of the cost as the tips. And she used very cold language toward us as well and somehow “pushed” us to leave the table by taking away our plate and spoon and knife out of our table. The is the worst experience I had with waitress. Hilton, please take this seriously and teach your waitress properly. Or maybe you can pay your waitress more so that they are not thirsty towards our customers and lead us leave comments like this. Sorry about the long complaints but I felt very bad during my trip because of this.

I didn’t like how they gas lighted me into thinking there was no mold when it literally was, we left early due to one of my kids getting very sick, as soon as we walked into the room it had a weird smell we thought we were going crazy, until my kid was feeling very ill because she’s allergic to mold, the chief engineer literally lied to my face saying it wasn’t mold i have pictures of mold spores in the vents he told me it was rubber insulation how could that it was terrible we got moved to 2 rooms and it still was mold i would never stay here again, the smell very awful, the pool was dirty it looked very foggy, it took us days to all feel better, literally terrible

We are a family of four and noticed there was only 3 towels. Texted (received a welcome text once we checked in that stated we could text for anything needed) and had more brought right away. BUT the next day I texted for more coffee as it was not restocked from housekeeping and didn’t get a response for 5 hours and their response was come down to the front desk for it. Condition of hotel: our hallway had what looked like a collapsed wall (this is the wall adjacent to our bathroom). Our bathroom had multiple spots of what looked like water damage (ceiling and walls) that was cheaply fixed by plastering and painting over it and even saw a couple black spots that was maybe mold. The toilet was not secure to the floor and water would seep out of the bottom if it rocked to the side. The rest of the room was better but the hotel felt very used. We checked out and on our drive home got a notice that they charged us for a water. We didn’t drink any so we called and they were happy to remove the charge. Not what we expected for a Hilton and wouldn’t recommend it.

I asked him several times, "Of all the places that we ate, what was your favorite?" His answer: "The tacos at the hotel." Go to The Third Rail. It is worth it.

Our room smelled like hotel musky. Beds good condition, TV mount would not swivel. Restroom could use more lighting.
