Amazing staff, atmosphere and people. We stayed for 5 days and loved every moment. Perfect location and clean rooms!

My stay @ Capitol Hill Hotel & Suites was exceptional! I stay quite often. The staff has respect & very courteous. I have a request for breakfast though instead of the precooked bacon could there be an option for real bacon?🤔 I will definitely be revisiting this beautiful Hotel very soon!

Location was ideal. Shower issue. Railing is sagging. Shower curtain unable to cover all.

Over-all the feel was of a well-maintained small hotel, decorated in good taste. Breakfast was above average ; staff friendly and helpful. Hotel was close to the mall and many small restaurants within walking distance.

A great suite and very good location making easy to visit main of museums. Need to pay to parking.

We got in late, and the staff were most accommodating with our arrival and check out, the breakfast did not disappoint. Easy, clean and exactly what we needed after a day of travelling.

We recently had an amazing stay. Our flight was delayed and they accommodated our 2am arrival. The hotel is quiet, clean and walking distance to so many great things. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. It was a fantastic experience!

Awesome and friendly staff, very clean, always fresh water, coffee or tea. Elevators fast, easy entrance in and out of hotel, easy to grab a ride share and breakfast was fresh and so easy to get. 10/10, also FANTASTIC location!

And lastly, the thermostat didn’t work in the room. The best thing was the location, only 8 blocks to my daughter’s Air B&B.

The first night we had no air conditioning. My room was 85 degrees. They knew the AC was broken and they allowed people to stay in those rooms and pay top dollar for a miserable night sleep. I demanded to be moved and was so the stay the next night was good but it should not have happened that way. I am still working on getting the first night refunded from the hotel.

Great location! Super nice and roomy with a full size fridge and little sink & stove combination. Could've stayed longer!! 2 min walk to Metro stop and 1 mile from Nationals Park. Perfect!

Location was excellent and a block away from the metro station. The staff was very helpful about restaurants and getting around. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and adequate. I'm jaded because at bigger hotels breakfast buffets were amazing. Shower was good but the bathtub faucet was coming apart from the wall.

We had such an enjoyable trip and most of that had to do with the hotel and its proximity to all of the places that we wanted to visit. The staff was fantastic and the restaurants around the hotel location were very good as well.

Everything worked adn the shower was nice and hot, but… Continental breakfast good..but missing other hot food beyond eggs. Even oatmeal would be nice. Having said all of that, we’d stay there again.

Breakfast was terrible. Overcooked everything. Misleading ads. Bad advice for restaurants. Rooms not clean. Pushy around taking a taxi vs uber.

What a blessing for sure!!

The location was perfect! Right across the street from McPherson Square metro and Jimmy Johns and a coffee place. Though the room was smaller than I like, it was fine for one person. Coffee lacked sugar and was sparse. Still, Other than the smell, it was a great spot.

Breakfast was terrific, and the BIKES really made the stay memorable!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The main detraction was probably one not easy to overcome, which is that it is an older property - the rooms were small, the bathroom tight with no fan and just a pocket door, but otherwise, things were fine in our 2 queen room. Taxi's were readily available, and it is convenient to Capitol Hill.

Overall we have a great stay, clean room,nice staff, good breakfast , air condition is working well

Its proximity to the Smithsonian. I thought $50.00 a day for parking was high, but once I was there I realized parking was tight. Also, the room was reasonable enough that even with parking the price seemed okay .

Staff always pleasant. Clean. Location is fantastic. Cable system is gym broke. The great gym is one of the reasons I always book here but the cable system has been broke the past two visits. I am now looking at other places to stay.

This place is cool. Obviously an older remodeled building and well done. Location was amazing. The breakfast was awesome. Lots of really yummy options and fresh. There was a chef making things during the breakfast.

The hotel was awesome. The location in the Capitol Hill neighborhood is wonderful. There are many restaurants and bars that are in a short walking distance. The Capitol is about two blocks away. The rest of the Mall is an easy walk, bike or scooter ride away. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast offered delicious options. The room was large and very comfortable. Nothing. I will stay here again when I’m in DC.

Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good great location to walk to the Library of Congress Supreme Court and the Capital.

It would be nice to see a change in daily breakfast offerings. (talking the main eggs, bacon and sausage)

It was perfect to move around. Metro Station a block away, quiet and super clean neighborhood The one thing I will say is not having a restaurant on site in case you want a late bite. Most places around closed super early

The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Located relatively close to metro station and several restaurants within walking distance. The complimentary breakfast was located in another building, tables and chairs crammed in with minimal room to maneuver, staff trying to do there best to cook and get food out with what appeared to be very limited space for them to work/ prepare food. The little Kitchenette area in the room was cramped with poor lighting.

We were at the breakfast room next door to the main hotel during the week. The room was too full/crowded and most of the breakfast food was gone. There was one hard working breakfast prep guy who tried his best to keep up with providing eggs but most of the other food stayed emptied. On the weekend, the food situation was a bit better but the flow through the the room was still crowded. Suggestion- the long countertop that is used for eating should be removed and all food displays should be moved from the window wall in each cubby space over to the long wall to allow for better flow and sidelines of the food choices and better sideline for parents and children

The staff were so great and very accommodating for our family with 3 children aged 5 and under.

Wonderful location just a couple blocks from Capitol in a really quiet upscale neighborhood. Easy walk to restaurants and pubs and even a CVS. Only suggestion is that the breakfast could be updated better as it wasn’t replenished very well during peak time. Definitely my go to stay from now on in DC

Excellent location, 1-2 mins walk from metro, and few minutes steps your already at the center of the US Capitol. Complementary breakfast is a good start for your longday and expect a clean room at the end of the day as they have a daily housekeeping. The staff in reception are friendly and helpful. We arrived around 11:00 and aiming we can leave our luggage’s, but we were able to checked in. We stayed 3 nights with my husband and we definitely stay again in Capitol Hill hotel.

I thought the place was clean, quiet, well located . The staff is friendly and our room was spacious clean and comfortable . For $30 a day, the breakfast was not great and the staff cleaned it up early. It should be optional .

I expected a better breakfast. It was good, but the pictures on Google were different. It was just less variety.

Our family stayed at this hotel during spring break and the hotel staff treated us like family. They were very welcoming and super helpful. We had trouble finding a car that would fit all of us along with our luggage. Mr Norman the front desk staff, helped arrange transportation to the airport. Plus, the hotel is close to a lot of attractions and activities. The breakfast is very nice! Would definitely stay there again!

The view that we had was awful. We had the alley view with vehicles parked two feet away from our window. Parking was none existent. Do not count on it. We were lucky, guests were checking out as we were checking in and we ended up getting their parking spot

No parking in the garage when we arrived late in the evening. How to find parking on the street which was very annoying. The bathroom faucet was very awkward to use because it was entirely too close to the bottom of the sink. The door was very awkward when trying to open it and quite loud.

So cute, great neighborhood and close to the metro, Capitol Hill and The Mall.

Great rooms. Wonderful staff they are very friendly and helpful. They definately made us feel welcome. They offer free bicycles with lock to see the city. Will definately be back one of best experiences at a hotel especially in big city.

Front desk staff was incredibly helpful, from offering suggestions for lunch when we checked in to keeping our luggage with them while we explored DC after checkout but before we headed to the airport. Perfect location for us too - we like hiking/walking so it was a decent walk to get to some of the further monuments. Neighborhood was nice and quiet. Rideshare from this location was easy. Room was clean. The Dish Network on our tv didn't have great reception but that wasn't a deal-breaker and nothing we felt was important enough to bring up. Breakfast is the usual continental breakfast. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

I love this hotel. It’s my home away from home. Very dog friendly. My daughter has a Dalmatian so when I come up and watch her, she loves to come to my room on the elevator and have a cuddle in my big hotel bed.

The next day I returned to the front desk and was told they would credit my amenity fees. However, this didn’t feel like an appropriate resolution since I had paid for a one-bedroom suite and did not receive it. Eventually, a manager contacted me and offered to refund half of the night I spent in the incorrect room and move me to a different room (Room 218). Unfortunately, the cover on the fob reader for that door was broken when I arrived, although it was still functioning at the time. The following day, about an hour before my meetings started, I was locked out of my room because the fob reader stopped working. Beyond that, the TV in the bedroom wasn't working, the phones in the rooms don't work, and they don't have smartTVS. I do want to note that the staff was friendly and helpful throughout these issues. However, the rooms appear to be in serious need of updates, and the price of the hotel does not reflect the overall quality or condition of the rooms.

The rooms could use a bit of an update. There was chipped paint all over the place and the carpet was stained. The toilet didn’t work well and the shower water could scald someone. The room also was very hot— the heat was working almost too well and there was no way to cool it down. The staff always very nice and the breakfast was great.

There are two separate hotel buildings. One seems nicer than the other. I got the other and there were new bugs in the tub every night. Also, i had to call maintenance for appliance assistance as stove didn't work. I loved the location though. It was close to a lot of places. Easy to find.

Hotel of good standing located in a pleasant residential area close to the metro. On the other hand, our room reservation with kitchen was not compliant, there was only a microwave and no cutlery. In addition, the advertised breakfast is not served in the establishment. Bicycles provided cannot be booked.

Room with kitchen faucet is a big plus. 1. Breakfast (2 options do not provide good options- food quality is bad). 2. Room needed upgrade (door can’t open fully due to design, shower door can’t be closed, shower faucet just for the good, I can’t fill a glass of water from the faucet…..)

The omelettes at Le Bon Café were excellent! And in spite of my food intolerances, the Cafe staff tried to work with me on them. On the whole, my friend and I had a very good experience.

Excellent, friendly, helpful staff. Great location walkable to Supreme Court and Capitol. Many restaurants in walking distance. Very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are small but adequate. Beds are comfortable. Our room door was a little difficult to open and close and noisy but otherwise no complaints.

Old building that has been renovated very well. In the heart of everything-easy to walk to all sorts of restaurants, stores, attractions.

several shops and restaurants nearby. Valet parking was easy, quick and inexpensive.

Room was kept very clean. Staff was friendly. We had vouchers for breakfast right around the corner at Petes Diner which was great. So close to the Capital! We will be back

The hotel was lovely to stay at. The bed was comfortable and clean. The air conditioning unit was in good working order. The elevator was in good working order but did have an unpleasant smell. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but was instead provided with vouchers for a local cafe.

The building itself feels like an old apartment building -long hallways, you can see where door locks were changed on the doors. the breakfast bar was not great.

Dashawna was an absolute gem, my girlfriend and I drive 6 and a half hours from Syracuse NY straight through to here and she upgraded us to an immaculate suite as soon as she heard that. Her customer service was fantastic, and she gave us several incredible recommendations for things to do/places to eat while we were in town. 10/10 will recommend her, and this hotel to anyone that will listen.

Location was the best thing. The physical plant needs work: doors stick, or don't close tight. Could use some utensils, or at least a teaspoon, in the room. Snack supplies in the lobby were scant.

My tub had black stains and didn’t seem clean. My 4 year old granddaughter refuse to take a shower in it due to the black stains. She said it’s yucky. They need to remodel, the building is old. Walls are in poor condition in the hall ways. Doors are also in bad shape

The staff were amazing. The hotel is dated but they are trying hard to do what they can. During my stay, AC broke, the room smelled damp likely due to shower not draining properly. And burners stopped working on stove. But maintance quily came and fixed it.

Perfect boutique style hotel with an AMAZING staff. The bathrooms are a little outdated. But the overall experience was great and you cant beat the location.

Don't stay here! No matter how tempted you are, given its proximity to Capital Hill. This hotel is beat, smells bad, is very dated, dirty, poor service, overpriced, with awful breakfast and disrespectful staff.

I stayed in one of the hotel’s suites, and it was impressively spacious—far more room than I expected in the heart of D.C. It felt more like a luxury apartment than a typical hotel room, giving me plenty of space to relax and recharge. The location is equally outstanding. Nestled in the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood, the hotel sits just steps away from leafy streets lined with classic row houses, small local cafés, and key landmarks like the Library of Congress and the U.S. Capitol. It’s a perfect blend of quiet charm and immediate access to Washington’s political heartbeat. If you’re visiting D.C. and want a stay that balances comfort, class, and truly attentive service, Capitol Hill Hotel is hard to beat.

The location is walking distance to all the sites to see and the dining areas. The place has the best staff except during our last night - July 17, 2025 - when nobody was answering our calls for 3 hours from the phone in our room to the front desk when we were about to check out. The staff only answered our call when we called using our mobile phone.

I enjoyed the distance from the sounds of DC but was inherently close to the National Mall and additional walkable neighborhoods. Felt safe in my experience at the hotel.

The best things were the excellent location (only four blocks from the Capitol and three blocks from the subway/Metro, and extremely amicable and helpful staff.) The worse things were the hotel condition (needs major renovation. The bathroom is too small and the sink is tiny.) Also, there is an exuberant, so-called "resort fee". Each person is charged a daily resort fee. There is nothing resort-like of the hotel. There are several breakfast items at the buffet, but the taste is sub-par.

Not much to do within close walking distance (specifically restaurants)

I booked a room for two adults and one child under 17. Checked in about midnight, everything was smooth as silk. Got to the room, only one queen bed. For three people. I had to pay extra for my Grandson to sleep on the floor? Staff was great, room was clean though. Also be ready for on the street parking.

I really appreciated how safe and comfortable it felt to walk around the area, and the nearby restaurants were fantastic. I also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which was a nice perk. The only downside was the air conditioning — it was quite hot and muggy outside, and stepping into the room didn’t provide much relief. Aside from that, I had a really enjoyable stay.

2 issues: The property is actually 2 buildings, and our room was in the second bldg (which was okay bc breakfast was in our bldg). The washer and dryer was coins only and the front desk could not give me change. So I had to do laundry at 11pm in the main bldg because those machines accepted credit card. That was inconvenient to haul the laundry to and from the other bldg outside late at night. Also, The tub in our room was painted to cover rusty spots. As we showered, the paint was falling off. The toilet seemed to lack flushing power. Each time the toilet was used I was afraid it would overflow. For these reasons, I took 1 star off. Overall, splendid stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel. I would definitely stay here again with my family.

Great hotel in a perfect location for exploring the sites of Washington DC. Staff are excellent and breakfast is a great way to start each day. Fresh fruit & yoghurt plus the usual cereals, breads and hot stuff. Free hotel bikes were an added bonus and a great way to explore the city.

Very clean, great value hotel with a breakfast and bicycles to discover quiet and fancy Capitol Hill neighborhood. Super friendly and helpful staff, but the doors of the rooms should be changed. They are too loud and you can’t be quiet and disturbing everyone even when trying to close them carefully.
