Reviews
The hotel is highly praised for its beautiful grounds, historic charm, and excellent dining options. Guests frequently mention the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the enjoyable boat tours. However, some guests have complained about uncomfortable mattresses and slow restaurant service.
- Beautiful grounds and historic charm
- Excellent dining options
- Uncomfortable mattresses
- Slow restaurant service

The elevator didn’t work. There were only two electrical outlets in the entire room (none in the bathroom). There was no hot water for the entire evening, night and morning of our stay.
- 5/5
Spotless room, very comfortable beds and good choices on the menu at the restaurant.
- 4/5
boat ride great
- 5/5
Great historical lodge steps from the springs. Awesome jungle cruise with lots of wildlife. Saw alligators and fish on the boardwalk trail. Good food in the restaurant and soda shop.
- 5/5
Very nice and well worth it!
- 5/5
The food was amazing! We all enjoyed our supper and breakfast. Chloe, Jason, and the rangers were helpful and informative. The antiquated elegance of the lodge and the peaceful springs were the relaxing retreat we needed.
- 4/5
Great lodge! Lots of super cool historical pieces. The lodge staff was fantastic, very accommodating and friendly. Room was nice, very spacious, though the coffee and food wasn’t anything to write home about. The staff and history absolutely made it worth the trip!
- 5/5
Historical hotel that is well maintained. The only downfall was the rooms do not have a television. Otherwise a beautiful place.
- 3/5
The good: The room was clean with no signs of bedbugs or anything. It was quiet and relaxing. The springs were great and the boat tour was interesting. They have great ice cream & a bar. We enjoyed playing chess at one of their large table sets. The bad: The main issue was with bath towels. There were only 3 towels in the room for 6 people and only 2 in the room for 4. We were told there were no towels left when we asked for more. I am puzzled how you can have a room that should sleep a specific amount of occupants without having enough towels to accommodate everyone. I can understand not having that many towels in the room at the beginning of a stay, but there should have been enough readily available for each person should they be maxing out the room capacity. This was a recurring theme each night. The first night, the woman at the desk gave us the last few clean towels they had. The 3rd night, the man at the desk told us he’d bring us towels in “20 minutes” but he never came. The following morning we put the “please service” sign on our door and then spent the entire day at a beach. When we returned around 4:30pm, the room was still not serviced. Then we were told-again-by the desk staff that there were no towels! Unbelievable! We did eventually get them, but it was an ordeal.
- 5/5
The entire facility was excellent with our rating of 10+. It was a beautiful historic place with excellent upkeep. The rooms were amazing and up to date. The employees were helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable.

- 4.5/5
Setting and atmosphere. And the boat tour
- 5/5
Everything was excellent.
- 5/5
Family friendly. Be mindful of the lack of elevator
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Love this place. So peaceful & historic! Will definitely be back.
- 4.5/5
The location - next to the largest freshwater spring in the world; very peaceful The lodge - classic historical hotel; well maintained The restaurant - the food was very good The sink and the tub - big and deep; the way they used to be made the mattresses and pillows probably need replacement - at least ours did the trail maps need to be updated; the paper handout does not seem consistent with online version
- 4/5
Food was great, environment very welcoming.
- 4/5
Fun property to enjoy nature and getaway from hustle and bustle. Suggest bringing power strip due to lack of useful outlets. Nice coffee station in mornings. Boat cruise recommended. One watch out is that older rooms let in noise. Young men across the hall were loud and rowdy and kept my wife awake until 2:00AM.
- 5/5
Everything. The boat tour was amazing. The food was good. Great atmosphere. The hotel is historic and is not new, but that’s part of the charm. The elevator was down, so we had to haul our luggage.
- 5/5
The staff at the front desk provided caring services with a traditional courtesy.
- 5/5
We love the atmosphere of the historic inn and the location next to the spring is fantastic.
- 5/5
Nice quiet old fashioned lodge to spend a night, wonderful boat tour and a nice area for swimming. The lobby & restaurant are freezing though, otherwise all good.
- 5/5
Quaint hotel in the original style from when it was built updated a little to include some modern conveniences. Beautiful setting by a large natural spring. River boat tours with ranger tour guide allows for setting unique wildlife (alligators and manatees)in natural setting.
- 4/5
Lovely place to wind down. Absolutely gorgeous spring lake and foliage - would take the boat trip every day. Excellent restaurant and service. Way too cold on first floor lobby and restaurant requiring a sweater or jacket when dining. No TVs - there should be a better warning about that. Intend to visit again next spring.
- 4/5
Updated chairs in the restaurant, great food as usual. Friendly staff, and the gift shop. Good river boat tour. Front desk manager would not let us stay in the room for 15 minutes after check out. The cleaner didn’t understand that as she wasn’t even close to getting to our room yet. A little disappointed in that since we’ve been coming here for over 50 years.
- 5/5
Fun and relaxing. Great food!
- 5/5
Rooms were freshly painted, got to check in early, food was excellent, staff was great, waitstaff in dining room was excellent. Totally enjoyable.
- 5/5
The boat ride was very good. We would recommend it to friends. The lack of an elevator makes stair climbing an ordeal for people in their 80's!
- 5/5
Lodge is very charming, staff friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
When we travel to see family in Destin, we make it a point to stay at Wakulla Springs on our way. It is such a unique property. You can’t stay in your room and watch tv because there isn’t one! It’s a place to take in the natural beauty surrounding the area. Be sure to take the boat ride. The restaurant is excellent, and the staff is friendly
- 5/5
Beautiful peaceful place
- 5/5
Staff and property were excellent. Setting is beautiful. Nothing going on except relaxation. Food was excellent too, breakfast and dinner.
- 4/5
Very nice , roomy room. All staff were excellent ;at the desk and in the restaurant.
- 5/5
This is a great resort in a state park. Retro feel with a great restaurant
- 4/5
Old fashioned lodge in beautiful setting. Could use a refresh but overall it is a pleasant place for nature lovers & hikers.
- 4/5
A stay here is a time to connect with nature A long hike or a swim in the spring water are going to be your entertainment Civilization is 15-20 min away The on site restaurant is good The room is comfortable and typical for a lodge of this vintage Not exactly what I expected, but had a good stay History of the place is interesting
- 4/5
No, but this is in a natural, protected area.
- 4.5/5
Beautiful and serene location. Helpful staff and great options for early check in / late check out for a fee. The restaurant seemed very short staffed for dinner (long wait times)
- 5/5
Really enjoyed all our meals at the Edward Ball dining room (especially the breakfast tacos and beecharmer salad) and the water pressure was awesome! Loved walking around the property and taking the boat tour! Nothing - all was fabulous!
- 4/5
Food was good staff was very helpful
- 4/5
Yes.
- 4/5
fun experience in time travel
- 5/5
Great staff. Comfortable bedroom. Food was great. Love the historic feel and that they haven't tried to modernize. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Old world charm. Beautiful location
- 5/5
Very comfortable room.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic Lodge with comfortable rooms and charm.
- 5/5
Classy place, huge rooms, marble floors, overall outstanding. Be sure to do the boat tour, its great and only $8 and go swimming at the spring!
- 4.5/5
Obviously We liked the grounds and our room. The boat ride was amazing and so was the boat tour guide. Construction is well fenced in with minimal noise! Good job on that. Overall I didn't feel overly welcome. I would have liked a souvenir from the ice cream shop. But honestly 46.00 for a tee shirt is absurd! I probably would have lunch in there but was so offended at that price, I changed my mind. They are redoing the elevator, which they told us. We had to walk through the lobby instead of coming up the outside stairs. That was a little hard on my wife's knees.
- 5/5
Nothing!!
- 5/5
Room was clean and very delightful. We had a great view of the Wakulla Springs. The Lodge was beautiful, with my wife wanting to spend more time. We highly recommend the Lodge!
- 5/5
Everyone at the lodge was pleasant and helpful. We had a great hike, a pleasant dinner and breakfast, and saw so many manatees. There were renovations in progress and it was very cold out but that didn’t bother us at all. The very nice staff more than make up for little inconveniences.
- 5/5
Bed were very comfortable
- 3/5
Fuse blew when I turned on light. Check amenities. Very little. This is not like a typical hotel room. Beds not comfortable or big enough for 2 people (double + twin room). Had shared room with door that locks on both sides. NOT SOUND proof! Room cold but it was very cold and windy outside (20s at night, 40 during day with high winds). Restaurant was good. Employees in Parlor very kind and social. Was beautiful lodge and manatees outside but will probably stay somewhere else next time.
- 2/5
Room was cold, even turned up the thermostat to 74.
- 3/5
2.Staff was making so much noise in the hallway that I could not rest 3. We were treated like second class citizen, instead of paying customers 4. It would of been nice to have known the elevator was broken before we rented the room 5. It would have been nice to have known that the restaurant was going to be closed the whole time we were there for a private event 6. I didn't see how that the ADA was honored especially with so many people there using walking sticks and walkers 4.
- 5/5
Room clean, good staff and beautiful place
- 4/5
Staff was helpful, friendly and courteous. The Lodge is a great stay, though showing some signs of age. Looking forward to our next visit.
- 5/5
Beautiful find. Clean, relaxing, friendly staff, delicious food in restaurant. Had breakfast and dinner, and had ice cream in the "Parlor" which has soups, hot dogs, and all sorts of treats. No TV distraction. TV in lobby plays "Creature from the Black Lagoon" on loop as it was partially filmed here. Amazing history, I could image what it would have been like in 1937 when it was built. Nice boat ride with the most wildlife I have seen living in Florida my entire life. Saw probably 20 alligators, 15 manatees, and various different species of turtles and birds and even an otter at the boat dock. Look forward to visiting in the summer.
- 5/5
No complaints
- 3/5
Dinner as wonderful - very attentive staff and excellent food!
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful and the setting was beautiful. I cannot recommend the Lodge enough.
- 5/5
Very quaint! Felt like I went back on time. Relaxing!
- 5/5
Room was clean and well furnished. I've been a pretty regular guest since the mid 60's and as in the past yhe rooms can be cool during the winter.
- 5/5
Love the Decor!
- 5/5
A step back into the past when buildings had character, style, charm but yet in top shape. Staff is all friendly, no bad attitudes or indifference. Food was excellent.
- 5/5
Room guest book. Grounds and classic working elevator N/A
- 4/5
Breakfast was great. My toilet did not flush in my room.
- 5/5
This is our second stay at The Lodge. We love the character of this property. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. All staff members were a pleasure to work with. Some of our friends will be coming later this month based on our recommendation.
- 5/5
The combined beauty and history of this place is outstanding.
- 3/5
Poor breakfast and some basic items missing.
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds and springs
- 5/5
Room was spotless, Staff was fantastic, the Place is Magical! highly recommended.
- 5/5
Should have stayed longer
- 3/5
The food in the Lodge's restaurant was expensive and dreadful. I ordered a chicken breast which was lukewarm and slathered under an unidentifiable milk sauce. The meal actually gave me a stomachache. When I mentioned this issue to the checkout clerk the next morning, without evening maintaining eye contact with me he said 'he'd let the kitchen know'. Judging from this reaction something tells me the kitchen will remain uninformed.
- 5/5
Historic lodge in a state park overlooking a Wakulla Spring and run. Elevator rebuild was underway so stairs were the only option to access rooms. Check in was easy. Rooms were relatively large and quite clean. Restaurant staff were very helpful and breakfast was delicious. Glass bottom boat rides are available and there are several miles of walking and hiking trails in the park.
- 5/5
We love the charm and history of this place!
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff. The boat ride is an amazing experience.
- 5/5
We’ve stayed here many times and will continue to visit The Lodge. Friendly staff, clean rooms and great food.
- 5/5
Beautiful lodge with friendly staff
- 4/5
Location, ambiance, historical significance, amenities, friendly helpful staff, quality of food in the restaurant, manatee sightings, boat tour and hiking trails Long waits to be seated and to get food once ordered in the restaurant. Kitchen was short staffed and orders were backed up two of the four days I was a guest.
- 5/5
In an historic Florida hotel, the Wakulla Springs Lodge. Vintage furnishings and quiet days and nights.
- 4/5
Did not have breakfast but prime rib dinner was excellent Room was a bit chilly
- 3/5
The room was very clean. The bathroom was particularly clean. The beds mattresses are aging. The exterior door at the end of our hallway doesn’t look like it is sealed off from the outside so it lets a lot of cold air or hot air in to the building. There is a one inch gap between the sill and the door. The room doors need sound insulation and a tighter fit. In general, I believe the State of Florida has neglected this gem and needs to put some money in to it to modernize the rooms and baths, HVAC system etc. There is a lot to preserve that is worthwhile but the building is starting fall apart. State stewardship is needed. Low taxes don’t mean anything if state assets are depreciating, particularly something as important as the state’s only lodge and a true historical flagship public asset.
- 5/5
Room 35 was the best. Been coming here since the mid-60's and it's a treat every time. Room was well furnished, very clean.
- 5/5
The room was spotless, the staff is phenomenal- every staff person we encountered was above and beyond. Our meals were delicious- the boat ride was stunning: I don’t think our stay could have been better.
- 5/5
the staff was exceptionally nice and friendly. The lodge is a perfect time capsule just as I'd hoped. A perfect stay.
- 5/5
Clean, very friendly staff
- 5/5
Absolute gem of a place. Historic building. $8 park run wildlife boat tour! Clearly subsidized by the state of Florida, you can't run a boat operation for that amount of money (I would know). We spent month and a half in Florida, this was the best place we stayed but a long shot. The history of the place was interesting, and it was like staying in a national park lodge, but the staying in the middle of the park with almost free boat tours and hiking triails?... This place is WAY under rated. Private event closed the dining hall so we didn't get to try the food there. But heh, we only stayed one night.
- 5/5
It was comfortable
- 5/5
Clean roo, friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful setting.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly, room was spacious/clean and the ambiance was beautiful and peaceful. We really enjoyed our two-night stay. The only issue was the inoperable elevator, which apparently has been out of service for many months.
- 5/5
Very old, historic hotel. Nice and clean. Excellent staff.
- 5/5
Great stay. Boat tour was enjoyable. Quiet relaxing place
- 5/5
The room was great. They were replacing the elevator so that was a minor inconvenience. The lodge is a very nice old historic lodge. The Wakulla spring is a gem out the back lawn. There are nature trails starting at the lodge going around in the surrounding park.
- 5/5
Everyone was Exceptional Thank you for a pleasant stay
- 5/5
Everything about our stay was great! Location, The Lodge, Staff, The food was excellent, and the staff. We only stayed one night as a halfway trip to Disney, but we will definitely be back because our family loved it so much!
- 4/5
The food I had in the dining room was AMAZING! All the staff were friendly and very helpful.
- 5/5
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. There was a lot of light coming from the hallway during the night under the door and some of the other guests were very loud in the hallway before 7am. But other than that we really enjoyed the stay
- 4/5
Beautiful, quaint, easy check in. Would have liked coffee available for longer time in morning.
- 5/5
Must take boat ride. Great with small children
- 5/5
Wonderful stay again! The only downer was that the elevator was not working because it’s being worked on, but we were notified of that in advance of our stay.
- 5/5
The entire stay was great. Exceeded my expectations. Would stay again
- 5/5
Absolutely loved our stay at Wakulla Springs Lodge! The setting is breathtaking — peaceful, surrounded by nature, and full of history. The rooms are charming and clean, with a cozy, old-Florida feel. We enjoyed swimming in the crystal-clear spring and taking the riverboat tour — we saw manatees and alligators up close! The staff were warm and welcoming, and the on-site restaurant had great Southern comfort food. Perfect place to unplug and relax. Can’t wait to come back!
- 5/5
Wonderful relaxing stay in the center of nature. Unique lodge experience.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Quiet and really unique setting. Room was clean and the service was great. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
You get complimentary tea and coffee in the common area between 6am & 9am and no other time. We eat in the restaurant and the food was okay .
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Breakfast in the dining room was delicious. Housekeeper was super friendly and did an excellent job. All staff that we interacted with were very nice.
- 4/5
Beautiful nostalgic place. The bar at the restaurant is very nostalgic except the fact that we had to walk over to the other side of the counter to get our ice cream. In the old days the soda jerk guy will serve you at the counter like any other bar counter service. If they would do that it would feel more authentic. I hope management read says because it would improve the experience staying at their hotel
- 5/5
As we make a 2 day trip to visit our grandchildren , we always stop here to rest, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of this place. The recent renovation has added a new sparkle and the restaurant always feels like a special place to celebrate. We will be back!
- 5/5
Very nice and comfortable
- 5/5
clean, comfortable, great meals and friendly people
- 5/5
No elevator
- 3/5
Loved the charm at The Lodge and staff were great!! Only concern was we booked a room with a river view but you cannot see River from the room. Trees block the view. Room should not be advertised as such, very disappointing.
- 5/5
Wakulla Lodge was great! The gentleman who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and nice, and everything was exceptionally clean ( loved that there wasn't a TV).The boat tour was so much fun, and educational. The cheeseburgers were some of the best we've ever had. We sat outside for a long time, and watched people swimming and having fun in the water. It was wonderfully relaxing. The desk clerk that night(she had beautiful gray hair), got me hot water to make tea with. When checking out, we asked Karlin if we could buy coffee for the road. He said no, and proceeded to take the time and get us two coffees from the kitchen. Wakulla lodge should be very proud of thier employees. Thier customer service was extremely impressive.
- 5/5
The aesthetic appeal of the national park is quite pleasing.
- 5/5
Loved it!
- 5/5
Nice, quiet, historic location.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our one-night stay at this charming lodge in a beautiful setting. Our only negative is the elevator being out of service, which is just bad luck for our bad knees!
- 5/5
Front desk ladies were some of the best I've seen at any hotel before.
- 5/5
It’s our 8th stay at Wakulla…it’s like a trip back in time. It’s our refresher vacation.
- 5/5
We love staying here!!
- 5/5
Didn’t like the elevator being down for an extended period of time. We bring the entire kitchen when we travel (lol) But I needed the exercise! Wakulla is a slice of history that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime!
- 5/5
Nice place, great restaurant and very friendly and helpful staff
- 5/5
Relaxing away from busy life, spotless room and comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Hotel is incredibly interesting, and the amenities are great as well. Everything we have tried from the dining room has been great.
- 5/5
Great place to visit!
- 5/5
My family favorite spot to vacation.Love the lodge and the spring area.
- 5/5
Very clean and well maintained. All staff were super friendly. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Beautiful, old lodge in a wonderful family setting especially if you want to unplug. Excellent restaurant. It does lack some modern amenities such as in room TV. Internet service is limited although text, phone and email work. The bathroom was small with only a pedestal sink and slow draining tub/shower. The room itself was spacious and the beds comfortable. Definitely the best place to stay if you’re there to enjoy the spring. Highly recommend the boat tour of the river.
- 4/5
The people
- 4/5
The property hasn’t changed in years. It is old school
- 5/5
Loved the historic qualities of the lodge. Beautifully maintained. The elevator was classic!
- 5/5
The lobby is great: relaxing & a great look back into old Florida. The dining was ok. We waited longer than usual for food after ordering. The servers were great though, very attentive. I like the white tablecloths but they were a bit dirty at breakfast - like they hadn't been changed from dinner. For those staying at the lodge, be aware that all the people coming just for the springs also use the lodge parking lot so it might be hard to find a close parking spot. Also, we waited in a 20 minute line just to get into the park as you get to the lodge after entering the state park. Not a big deal, just allow for the time.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay, it was like going back in time. The spring is right out the back door of the lodge which was convenient! Elevator was really neat and fun to use! Boat tour is a must! Restaurant has good food, just really slow. We waited 45 minutes both times to get our food and the restaurant was mostly empty, several tables that came in after us received their food before us. We really loved our stay including our teens!
- 5/5
So quiet and beautiful! Love the Lodge!!
- 5/5
This historic Inn is beautiful and well maintained. The original elevator was amazing and the fact that the rooms do not have TVs was wonderful. Forced relaxation which we both needed. We took the boat tour which was very informative and a beautiful trip with a lot of wildlife and four manatees. One of us really enjoyed taking a dip in the spring, too cold for me. This Inn is well worth the visit.
- 5/5
Wakulla Springs Lodge is a 1930s hotel situated in a 6,000 acre state park of Spanish-moss draped woodlands. We looked out our window in the wee hours of the morning to see five deer grazing on our lawn, and later walked the dock and saw schools of fish swimming in the crystal clear water of the spring. My dream get-away!
- 5/5
Beautiful Property. So glad it is preserved as a State Park
- 5/5
We love The Lodge at Wakulla Springs! Beautiful, vintage building and grounds!
- 4/5
Beautiful area
- 5/5
Love the relaxed feel, and beautiful area. Old time feel with modern day amenities.
- 5/5
So lovely
- 5/5
Historic
- 5/5
I was on my way to Orlando and needed a safe place to stop halfway for me and the family so I chat GPT 'ed a place that met those parameters and this lodge was what I told me about. I'm thankful that it did.
- 5/5
The food at the dinning room was delicious, and the boat tour was awesome
- 3/5
Nice out of the way location, Old Florida style.
- 5/5
This is one of the most beautiful places in Florida… old Florida … The real Florida! The Lodge is spectacular with beautiful painted ceilings and decor! The restaurant serves fabulous food!
- 5/5
People were amazing the lodge was like stepping back in time. It was amazing
- 5/5
Such a stunning venue and so very beautiful and quiet!!! Love the accommodations such as ice cream and lunch!!!
- 5/5
The Lodge was awesome and the staff was great! The scenery is terrific and the boat ride is a must!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay! The property was so unique and clean, and the staff was very friendly and attentive.
- 5/5
Had an amazing time relaxing.I love that you can be unplugged and just enjoy nature
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful and an amazing dinner.
- 5/5
This is a lovely historic lodge. The best has been preserved and mod cons added. The staff are mostly college students and have been well trained. We will return.
- 5/5
Relaxed atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. Saw Manatees on river cruise. Excellent food. Not cheap.
- 5/5
Probably one of the nicest places I’ve stayed! So much history! Since they filmed two Tarzan movies and “The Creature from the Black Lagoon” it gives off a 1930’s Hollywood vibe!
- 5/5
Animals, nature, the lodge is great and has some fantastic historical background. Loads to do around here, a beautiful piece of Florida
- 5/5
A wonderful glimpse of Old Florida. Dreamy!
- 5/5
Veru besutiful setting. Food was great, both dinner and breakfast. River cruise was informative and also beautiful. Enjoyed seeing manatees.
- 5/5
We love the lodge at Wakulla Springs; it's peaceful and calm and a wonderful escape. No tvs is delightful!
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
A peaceful step back in time. The springs and river are clear to the bottom and refreshingly cool. (The Creature from the Black Lagoon, filmed there, plays on a TV in the lobby.) Forest trails are lush and filled with birdsong. (Watch out for the horseflies!) Rooms in the lodge are spacious, clean and the beds comfortable. Don’t expect luxurious. The staff members are warm and courteous. Look up at the lobby ceiling. Beautiful. Lovely stay.
- 5/5
Everyone was so wonderful and accommodating! We loved the room looking over the river. And was the first time trying a "Ginger Yip" - yummy. Thanks for a great visit. beth

The Lodge nm
- 3/5
The surroundings & outdoor settings are relaxing & nice. The Lodge & Dining Room have deteriorated & services have been cut back with charges for any extras that would not have been charged at most places. The Ball Dining Room gives smaller amounts of sub-quality food at higher prices. No rolls or bread is served with the meal & only 1 side is given with an additional charge for a small salad as a side choice.
- 5/5
Very quite place and lot of activities for family
- 4/5
Mostly, we enjoyed our stay. It is a unique kind of place and you really feel close to nature while staying at a hotel. The boat tour was great. Highly recommend. The grounds surrounding the lodge and the springs are beautiful. The lodge is like walking back in time to old Florida. However, although it is charming and authentic, the rooms are old and dated You hear everything through the walls. It’s good they don’t have tvs. Our neighbor listened to music on her phone and it was like she was in the room with us. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I wouldn’t eat there again. Food was just ok, service was just ok, price was high. The store and ice cream bar in the lobby are very cute. All in all, I’m glad we went but I’m also glad we only stayed one night. Too loud and a little too tired. It could use some sprucing up. I do recommend if like getting close to nature and seeing how Florida used to be.
- 5/5
Very nice location.
- 4/5
Liked the good bed, large room, natural light, nicely furnished and decorated, attractive lobby and dining room. My dinner entrees were very good. Avoid the breakfast waffles and French toast. Enjoyed the visit.
- 5/5
We enjoyed it all everything was wonderful
- 5/5
In the middle of a wildlife preserve, the surroundings at The Lodge at Wakulla Springs were beautiful. No TVs in the rooms - which we loved! - Creature from the Black Lagoon was playing on the set in the lobby when we checked in! The dining room was closing as we checked in, but they were able to make us a "take out" meal which was wonderful. Our breakfast the next morning was great, and our server was friendly and very attentive. We were not able to take the boat ride through the springs due to time constraints, but it looked like a lot of fun, judging by the kindergarten class that was taking the tour! Would love to go back someday. [Note to self: Try to get there before dark & be sure to pack sunscreen, bug spray, hat, long sleeve shirt & long pants for return visit -- it really is in the MIDDLE of a nature preserve]

I had a terrific stay at the lodge. My room was clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and it was so nice to walk around after dinner. Meals at the restaurant were delicious. And best of all was the boat ride to see the wildlife along the river.

Loved property. Grew up near the park and always wanted to stay in the lodge. Staff very helpful and attentive. Remember there are no TV's in any room.

We loved it here & already planning on coming back. I loved the vintage vibes, the elevator, the boat tour (Collin was awesome! Is he single? Asking for my sister.), jumping into the springs, all the history, the swamp creature stuff, & of course, the gorgeous nature. p.s Order a ginger yip at the soda shop!

Loved the uniqueness of this hotel. Feels like an old plantation. The grounds are beautiful. We saw two deer across from the parking lot and counted 13 manatees in the spring. Food is the best I have ever had. The room was huge. We really enjoyed it!

Coffee station coffee was a little weak:).

A beautiful lodge. The boat ride was wonderful.

Our 3 night stay was so very nice. The Lodge, built in the 1930s, was like stepping back in time. The grounds are beautiful, the restaraunt wah excellent, and the boat tour of Wakulla Spring was so good that we went twice.

History buffs would really enjoy this place.

I love that the building is historical. I also really like the fact that there are no TVs - that’s super cool.

Cute hotel in fun location. They have modernized the hotel while keeping its old quaint charm. Rooms are quite small but comfortable. Double beds fine for a couple but probably less fine for friends. Wish room had a fridge but old wiring might not handle it. Could use easier places to plug in phones near bed and a night table on both sides of the bed. Shower was wonderful. Shared coffee area outside room fine but need to put out coffee earlier for early risers wanting to get out and go. The park is beautiful. Hiking trails are nice. Saw lots of birds. Restaurant was yummy and convenient and the staff were excellent.

Nice historic property and grounds. The boat tour and walking trails were great. Great restaurant. No TVs in bedrooms but that was a good reprieve.

A gem of a property.

Negatives: you do without modern hotel room amenities. No TV, fridge, microwave, or in room coffee. If you can make do without for a night or two it's well worth it.

Charming place to stay.

Beautifully maintained historic hotel, on a state park, and scientifically important site. Excellent food at fair prices, in the restaurant and the ice cream parlor. Large fireplace in the lodge lobby when the weather is chilly.

Beautiful

Love watching the manatees.

Everything was excellent... Accept no television in none of the rooms... and they dont tell you when you call for reservations and I did not see it in the online reservations. There is one Tv in the lobby playing the same DVD over and over.

Was a trip down memory lane for us. We had a great time visiting the swimming area at Wakulla springs.
