This was my 2nd visit to this particular Ayres hotel which was not as good as the first visit with smelly sink with rotting hair smell, weak shower water pressure, unwelcoming dining staff, and bad morning coffee. Outside of this the hotel offered cost effective hotel option to stay around Carlsbad/Vista area to go visit the Legoland

I found what looked like a crumb of food on the toilet seat and paper in the toilet. Other than that, the to room was clean. Decent hot breakfast. Plenty of parking. Amazing nice staff! We had a view of the hill..no frill, but it was no biggie.

I liked the location, the hotel room was spacious and clean, the staff were friendly and good. I overall liked my stay while visiting San Diego. I would say the shower head is not my favorite but other than that everything else was great.

The Front Desk people were nice, but the gentleman who worked the bar and the food area at night was robotic and not very friendly. He seemed inconvenienced by customers and could not wait to leave a little early off of his shift. I also asked for a hypoallergenic Room and they did that properly with the Bed but did not do that with the rest of the Room. After waking up in the morning for my first night, I could not breathe because of my asthma and they were feather pillows or dirty pillows on the sofa. All they told me was “they were sorry“. The breakfast buffet was fairly unhealthy except for the amazing omelette and I was very impressed with that. The lady was kind and friendly and did a great job listening to my particular order. My room was spacious and it was quiet with good blackout blinds so I was pleased with that. The shower water never did turn off properly, but I reported it to them.

Best hotel we have stayed at in our visits to San Marcos. Wonderful friendly staff and great breakfast offerings. Will stay here again when we come to visit family. Nothing we can think of.

Beautiful hotel and great quiet area. Comfortable beds and very clean. Breakfast was typical for nice hotels. Long line for omelettes but nice to have scrambled eggs for the option to not have to wait. Staff was amazing throughout the entire stay and dog friendly with a low fee that covered the entire stay which is hard to find nowadays. Maybe a recycling option and another trash can in the room? That's just being picky though. It would be nice if the prices could compete with booking sites so we can extend our stay easier.

Breakfast was 10/10, the staff 10/10 soooo helpful! I loved staying here it made life easy with my 9 month old and having breakfast included helped not having to figure out what to eat! If ever needed, I will be staying here again!
