Liked everything very much except the Hours opening closing of bars/restaurants. Closing the lobby bar at 10 is frustrating. And the Raleigh Room closed a bit earlier than stated 11p The hours of Raleigh Room and Lobby bar hours. Also, I was charged for in-room drinks, snacks and a jar of honey that we didn't touch or consume. I will call hotel today to have it taken off bill.

This hotel is such a beautiful and serene property! Everything was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel special for my birthday! I will definitely be staying every year as I always have treated myself to the their spa traditionally on my birthday but now a stay will happen as well! I do wish I had the opportunity to enjoy the pool but google misled me to believe the pool was open 24/7 like the fitness center. Overall wonderful experience!

The resort was extremely nice. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond. The spa was great. Would recommend large space to get ready and check the whirlpool more often for cleanliness. Our only complaint was fees. There seemed to be a lot of “hidden” fees when we checked our account during the weekend.

What a beautiful surprise. It’s our first time in the area and we loved all things Cavalier. The amenities were great but you have to book a massage weeks before your arrival. That was disappointing. Also, there was a smoker in the next room, whose full blown 2nd hand smoke came through the bottom of our connecting door and we had our little son with us sleeping on the couch. Other than those two things, this place had a very professional staff and the room was very comfy. Nice pillows, mattress, robes and slippers. The restaurant Becca was one of the best I’ve had. Keep up the great work!!!

The only issues were there was no mini refrigerator and I had to be persistent in asking for one. The one that was delivered was very noisy. In addition, there was loud guest noises in the middle if the night and an alarm clock in the room the woke us at 6 am!

Restaurant Garbage truck at 5:30 am, alarm clock was preset to go off at 6 am, fire alarm went off, coffee pot had zero instructions for a special machine. Did not work, no coffee. Bed was WAY too soft. Couldn’t roll over without waking up and it felt like a feather bed.

The second room smelled like mildew but I was now late for an event and did not have time to again change rooms. I returned late in the evening and when walking in the carpet found that a 3 food area in diameter was sopping wet from a leak. I also found that one of the two sinks did not drain and actually had 3 inches of water in it. The next morning I discovered that the closet area also had wet floors and that all of my clothing now smelled like mildew. Prior to checking out I called the front desk and told them I wanted to speak to a manger at check-out. The manager was not pleasant and said the most they could do was waive the parking fee ($34 savings on a stay room rate of well over $500). At check out I was in a rush to get to a funeral and called later in the day. After three calls and messages, nobody ever got back to me to discuss how they could make things right.

First time in Virginia Beach. This location is beautiful. Love the history of the hotel. We stayed on property the entire time. Every detail is perfect. We loved the indoor pool and the quick walk to the oceanside pool and beach access. Checking in was so easy thanks to Nerissa.

Valet is just as bad. 20 minutes waiting in line to park the car to check in. Will not book here again for business or otherwise. Nice accommodations and remodel, but bad operations and decisions. Left a day early just to stay somewhere else and they didn’t refund my last night.

Beautiful room decorated with historic memorabilia - outside sitting areas comfortable - grounds impeccable - had dinner two times at the hotel both very different vibes (Hunt Club and Becca) very good. Staff friendly and always ready to assist. We arrived a bit off season for the beach though it was warm enough to enjoy the beach but we had to provide our own chairs and towels…which we had brought along but it would have been easier to have them provided

The worst part was the live music that apparently happens every Thursday night until 11, and had our second floor room shaking until I finally called and complained. (If there's live music request a room on the third floor or up.) I was very disappointed overall with the experience.

In addition, the waiter in the Raleigh Room insisted on us providing a credit card - when we had been told at checkin we would not need anything besides our "keys" the entire stay - which equates to substandard service. The bar tender in the Becca was wonderful! However, at breakfast in the Becca there were workers doing drilling repair work - not what you expect in a fine dining room.

It was a wonderful hotel experience, but I have no desire to explain in detail what the issue is. At this point, I'm more annoyed about getting these emails from you all when you manually review the review and decide it doesn't fit your standards.

Lovely hotel and it was very convenient as the wedding we were attending was also at the property. Check-in was great. Nick was very attentive and offered us a welcome glass of sparking wine and showed us to the elevator. He had also arranged for our Tesla to be charged overnight as it needed to be charged for our return home the next morning (more on that later because it was NOT charged overnight). Room was tastefully decorated and clean. Amenities were nice and large shower had wonderful water pressure. Bed was a little too firm for our liking and there was no blackout curtains so we were awake bright and early at 7am! The room was very quiet though - didn't hear any other guests. Although we were thankful that our room was ready at 3pm, there no restaurants/cafes open for even a small bite to eat. We were told that it opened at 4pm (which is their usual check-in time - which is a little late given our experience with other hotels). We ended up eating some very expensive chips and nuts from the mini bar in our room. The wedding started at 5pm and food wouldn't be served until about 6pm for cocktail hour. I had to eat something after drinking a glass of sparkling wine on an empty stomach. Anyway, turndown service was very nice. Real problem began when we woke up much earlier than we had intended too but it actually was fortunate that we did since they had neglected to charge our Tesla overnight!!! Front desk did not pick up the phone. Brian, at checkout, not good!

Customer service is non existent. The front desk was SO rude after they gave us wrong keys and then gave us keys to someone else's room! They thrn said they would upgrade us to an oceanview suite for the trouble. However it was not an upgraded room, it was a downgrade from what we paid for! When we went back down to say this was actually a downgrade, the front desk guy said yes it is a suite and an upgrade. I said that we've stayed multiple times in a suite and this was not one. He then said- well I work here everyday and I'm saying it's an upgrade. Toodles! And turns around to leave while I'm still talking. Just overall horrible customer service. And no one apologized for giving us keys to someone else's room. Those people also had no idea thay we were in their room- just not ok overall. This used to be our favorite place to stay but the customer service makes us think otherwise. We ate breakfast in Becca and the amount of flies around, on us and our food constantly, was pretty gross. Just overall not what we've experienced before or expect from the Cavalier. Try the Marriott across the street- Orion's roof was amazing for food and the customer service there was much better!

Our stay was great, the people were friendly and inviting. The property was gorgeous and clean. The food was 5 stars, those parmesan truffle fries I could eat a keg of. All in all, a great stay, one improvement I would suggest would be to upgrade their linens (Bedding & Towels). They weren't bad per say just used past their prime. There were newer hand towels and wash cloths, but the bath towel felt like sandpaper.

AWESOME Stay! Took wife for a overnight getaway and really enjoyed ourselves! Clean room. Nighttime vibes were cool! Pool/Hot tub were great. Didnt see no ghosts though :(

Wonderful place. So classic and friendly. The staff all very friendly, very clean and organized rooms, and not too much noise at nights. Perfect gateaway with your family. Most evening tea and coffee would be served in the lobby

We planned a special trip to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our stay did not disappoint - the facility is beautiful, very clean, and the staff is amazing. We ate dinner and breakfast at Becca - food and service was impeccable. We enjoyed the Distillery tour and the history of the hotel is very interesting.

The Cavalier is a Time Machine on the outside and an elegant and luxurious dream on the inside. This place is magical and if you’re looking for a place that has a ton of history, then look no further. It’s amazing.

The Cavalier is absolutely beautiful. It has a 1930-40’s feel to it. The staff is outstanding. They are so kind and friendly and just always there to help you and make your stay the best possibly can be. The food is delicious. Will definitely come again and recommend to everyone I know.

Amazing experience!! Facility was gorgeous and amenities were phenomenal. Dinner in the Hunt Room was to die for. We were able to tour the distillery, drink and dance on-site with live music, walk on the beach in moonlight, and relax in the hot tub all in one fantastic evening. Will do again!!!

The most beautiful place I’ve stayed and the beat service. After our check in we received a bottle of wine and cake to help us celebrate our anniversary. Each resultant was equally hospitable, more than we expected after a busy holiday. Perfection!

I am a frequent guest at the Cavalier, but this time it was the most disappointing stay. First of all, I've been charged for some items from mini bar I've never had, never eaten, never drunk! After calling the front desk twice, was never given what I asked for (always heard - "it is on its way"). Just curious, for what is the hotel/room fee - for service that is not functioning well?!

The Cavalier is the place to stay and enjoy Virginia Beach. Everything about the hotel was simply exquisite. If I had to pick anything negative, I would say that the elevators are a little slow. The overall experience was simply 5-stars.

Great time at the Cavalier. Beautiful surrounds and happening spot at night. Great meal at Becca, but FREEZING, had to have a blanket that they keep on hand. Rooms were large and comfy. Shower was a dribble, why? Beach club was great, and a good lunch spot...got tired of Poolside Pandora music after a while. Loved the 40's jazz sound in the bar area in the afternoon. Valets were big fun and looked forward to chatting with them every time we went out.

Our recent stay was every but as enjoyable as all of our previous stays. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Accommodations are impeccable, service is outstanding, guest rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, the beach club is relaxing and the staff their are friendly and helpful. Anyone visiting Va Beach owes it to themselves to stay at The Cavalier at least once so they can see what a luxury hotel is supposed to be. Looking forward to going back again already.
