Friendly staff and easy check in. Great location, 2 blocks back from the beach, an easy walk. Plenty of parking, and an outdoor pool available for use. Everything in the room works, including large tv with lots of cable channels. Family friendly.

This place was so sketchy. I was scared staying the first night but it eventually got better.

For the price it was worth it. Way better than a lot of other hotels I've stayed in for that price.

This place is bad, a dump. I arrived, checked in , and returned the keys right away. I was notgoing to stay there. I am still diaputing the refund. I tell you what, spend the extra dollars for better conditions.

Clean the room more

Think bare minimum. Very old and not well maintained. Stale smelling. Loud. Be ready to pay an extra $10 when you check in, just in case you didn't read the fine print under policies. Bare minimum: No closet, but a hanging rod with no hangers. Toilet paper holder broken. Shampoo and thinnest sliver of soap provided--no conditioner or lotion. Fridge, microwave and coffee pot, but zero utensils or dishes, and no table or place to sit. One very thin blanket on the bed; no comforter or bedspread. Plus: AC worked and it was clean. Walkable to beach.

Location to event was mainly why I chose to book there.

Great place, great prices, and amazing location. We stayed a couple days here and it was perfectly fine! Staff was very friendly especially the older gentleman who works there! Check in and out was super easy. Pool looked clean and water was perfect temp. On the bonus side we had a room facing the water and was able to get a partial view of the ocean between two other hotels. We will definitely book with them again in the future!

When we got there it appeared to be decent but first thing that started when we got to the room and tried watching TV the remote wouldn't change the channels wouldn't function at all except to turn volume up or down so needless to say we were stuck watching bluey and bingo and then the bathroom had a used bar of soap on the sink and was dirty so don't know why that wasn't even thrown away that's gross and the room had a weird smell and they rent their parking lot for beach parking daily so even as a customer at the motel your lucky if you can even find parking but other than that I guess it was okay but we just decided next time we won't go back there we will go for a better place.

My room was very large, comfortable, and had a really nice view overlooking the street. Honestly, I loved the room so much that if I stay there again, I would definitely want the exact same one! The only thing I didn’t like was the additional $10 resort fee. I booked through my Expedia membership, and although it was ultimately my fault for not reading carefully, I still wasn’t expecting the extra charge. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely consider booking here again!

The kitchenette seems to be an addition to the original room and is unfinished. You can tell that a wall was knocked out because the baseboard along the wall stops at the corner and sticks out. Parking is $10 per night and the lot is very tight (posts near spots, tight corners). If you don’t scrape your undercarriage on the entrance ramp, you surely will on the very large speed “curb” they have at the entrance by the check-in office. We were there for a convention close by. It’s walking distance to the convention center and a few blocks from the oceanfront, so location is decent. Can be a bit loud at night with Peabody’s across the street and car noise. The staff was nice, however when we were trying to check in, there was another couple being haggled on the parking price, and both the couple and front desk person were raising their voices making it a bit overwhelming. One lady was telling them one thing while the other lady told them another. Overall, it was a place to lay our heads after the convention. Nothing special. I chose this motel because of location for the convention, availability, and price, but if I wanted to enjoy a nice stay at the beach, I’d go for one of the nicer oceanfront hotels.

We had a room with a kitchen- everything was clean and seemed updated- I liked the bigger fridge- we only used the fridge, shower, and bed because the stay was short- but it was a whole lot better than the last two times we have stayed. Beds were comfortable.

you get what you pay for, for $80 it was great! room was clean, the front desk employee was kind, and most importantly there were no bugs of any kind! the shower did take a while to drain, there was only one towel, and the bed didn’t have a comforter but hey … remember $80! overall in a pinch i’d book again!

We paid for a suite with a full kitchen. One would think you would have pots and pans, plates and utensils but not this place. Staff was not helpful at all and the website did not say it did not have these things.

I appreciate the staff, the front desk was very accommodating. The sheets and towels sometimes had spots on them. They should be inspected before giving them out to guests. Shower and tub, bathroom could have been cleaner. I sanitized and cleaned that and the kitchen myself.

Nothing Thr shower curtain had mold the rug smells and the room was awful. The steps outside was rusty and dangerous to walk on. I will never come there again! And the manager was rude to me and had me pay extra 80 dollars because I had a 12 year old and a 16 year old. I explain to her I wasn’t aware thet your property say they are Adults! She was very nasty towards me. And room 234 is nasty!

Distance front the beach The staff was rude, and didn’t hold back their facial expressions. We had reservations and they refused to at least give us our parking pass since it was a busy weekend. Made us PAY for whole day parking ( we got there at 10am) until 5pm that they gave us the room. $60 that we had to pay after paying almost 1000 for the room. After I stated my frustration the ladies got rude with me and started to make faces.

The bathtub was not clean upon arrival. The bathroom door struggled to close. The water in the hallway took forever to get hot.

The elevator was not working and we were on the 3rd floor. Up and down steps with all our beach stuff wasn't fun. The bed was very hard.

I had a pleasant stay overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was a noticeable cigarette smell in what was supposed to be a non-smoking room, likely coming from the bathroom vent where the odor was strongest. Sundial Inn is in a convenient location. When going to the beach it is always nice to arrive earlier to allow for time pn the beach. Ourroom wasnot ready at 3 but we were able to get a parking pass at noon and head over to the Beach. Our room was clean and loved the fact that they have kitchenette rooms.

As you know Jana Good fell as she got off elevator, she did not see step down in parkkng lot. It should be marked better and also carpet on ramp should be replaced. My room was great although we were not there much as we were taking classes at Convention center.

This is not fancy, but a great value. It was clean, comfortable, 2 blocks from the beach. It was quiet, the staff was very helpful; no kitchen, but had a small fridge and microwave, covered parking, ice machines always working and conveniently located, and the best tv channels available of any hotel I have ever seen.

I love Sundial Inn! The staff is friendly, the rooms are always clean, they include HBO with the cable channel, the beds and pillows are super comfortable, they actually have a working ice machine, and, if you ask, they help their guests get their luggage to and from their room. The only cons are, some rooms don't have hot water, some rooms don't have elevator access, and there's no laundry facilities. Otherwise, this place is my go to for lodgings at Virginia Beach.

Hotel is nothing special but it was clean & close to the ocean. Our only issue was the beds are hard. I mean HARD. Like hurt your hips if you sleep on your side hard.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable enough for our family of four while we were on our mini vacation. The pricing was fair as well. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, stove and oven. However, there is no cookware, table settings or dining or serving utensils provided. This is not listed anywhere on the site and was one of the main reasons I booked it. I had to buy things to prepare and eat our food in. Other than that, it was a good stay.

They tried to kick us out a day early and walked in on me and my girlfriend literally everyday asking if we were checking out. I had already paid to stay an extra night and okay'd it with the front desk because I didn't want it to become the huge issue it became. I clearly communicated with staff for days prior to have some angry rude lade come barging into my room while my girlfriend is naked in bed. I couldn't be less pleased with the customer service and even after I proved they were wrong no apology or anything. Parking is a joke, they sell parking to beach goers so even though I was paying to stay there I had to pay to park somewhere else. This place was the only downside to my otherwise great vacation. I would highly advise not staying here

They tried to have us leave our room a day early because they did not have the correct checkout date "on file" parking is an absolute joke. They sell parking to the public so even though you stay there, you will not have a space to park

Place was a nice location, easy walk to everything.. The male employees were super helpful. The female were grumpy and more interested in their phone. The biggest issue was construction workers sitting in lounge chairs taking up parking spaces and smoking pot for 15-30 minutes at a time. Hate to see what they are working on.

The only good thing, is close to the beach, it smells like mildew. Asked for non smoking room due to asthma and it smelled like cigarettes had to use a towel over pillow. Old carpet, stairs smelled like urine. Needs to be completely renovated. Would not recommend at all.

I also liked that there was an ATM in the lobby and an ice machine. So many times, if there is an ice machine, it doesn't work.

Asked for sheets for sofa bed. They told me to go down and get them. They would not bring them to my room.

Better cleaning of bathrooms

For the price paid I understand it wasn’t going to be a perfect place. The ironing board was broken, the HDMI port on the tv was broken, stains all over the floors and towels, floors were very dirty, sink and tub was left dirty. This place would have much more potential if they took time to clean it.

For the price, I didn’t expect it to be perfect and was fine with older motels…I just wouldn’t stay again bc rooms aren’t cleaned in between stays.

The beds were hard to sleep and there was bedbugs

Even though we were able to check in early, upon entering our room it had a terrible smell. Smelled similar to salami. Then once actually laying on the bed, they smelled like straight urine. Not a subtle smell either but strong urine smell. The floor smelled the same. The neighboring rooms had no respect for other guests and were blasting the tvs at full volume making it terrible to sleep. The shower had actual hair in it that was not ours as we did not use the shower due to the state of the tub looking like it was falling apart

What we liked was it was convenient (walkable) to get to beach, stores etc we like the parking was also available. The kitchenette we had was average not a 5 star but was decent. What we DIDN'T like was that we got Stuck in the Elevator, then afterwards it was BROKE. Making very inconvenient for me to get upstairs to my room because of my bad knees.

The hotel could’ve been cleaned better the pool area is extremely small and doesn’t get a lot of sunshine. The hotel is located in a nice area and the conociere was nice. They didn’t have really have continental breakfast, a lot of coffee and muffins and the ice machine on each floor was out of service. The room had a smell to it.

I HAD BEEN STAYING AT THIS HOTEL FOR 15 YEARS AND THIS LAST ONE WAS A COMPLETE DIASTER. THIS HOTEL NOW HAS A POLICY WERE THEY CLOSE AT 10 PM AND DO NOT REOPEN UNTIL 10 AM. THE PROPERTY HAS NO SECURITY AND ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE WERE GOING IN AND OUT OF THE STAIRWELL AND ALLL OVER THE PROPERTY. THE OFFICE WAS BLACK DARK THERE IS NO CONTENGENCIES FOR ANY WHO MAY HAVE HAD A LDELYAED FLIGHT, CAR PROBLEMS, OR TRAFFIC. IN THE MIDDDLE OF NIGHT HOTLES .COM HELPED ME FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY BUT AT MY COST. ALSO, I AM STILL TRYING TO GET REFUND FOR THE ROOM I PAID FOR BUT NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO STAY IN

Staying in hotels long term became really convenient because of how great this hotel is. The staff is very nice and understanding, They keep everything very clean, The water stays hot, internet works great, the rooms are spacious, and overall its a great hotel. The elevator does not work, which is fine but if youre someone who cant handle stairs, maybe ask for the first floor.

Although the front desk services were perfect and very attentive and courteous.. the building needs lot of maintenance and repairs.. stairs are very deteriorates and full of rust,, the carpets and restrooms at least in our bedroom are outdated and damaged; the curtains at the tub were with mold and the cover of the bed has a hole ( assumed) from smoking even though our bedroom was not smoking unit, the price was affordable I really don’t complaint about all this issues with the exception of the mold at the bath tub the others issues needs a big investment and is not staff responsibility.

I didn't like anything about the property. U had to clean my own room the appliances was dirty I had to clean them the bed spread was dirty I ask for a clean one but the receptionist gave me two more dirty ones from a different room. I don't see how a place like that stay in business. The elevator was out so I had to walk u four sets of stairs with my bags. I will never stay their again I ask for my money back but she said I would be charged a one night fee for leaving. The smoke detector batteries was not working. There was moldvinvthe ceiling above the room entry door and spiders and spider webs in the room.

It was a great price, however the room was in poor condition. The wall had a hole in it, the tub was dirty, and I found a roach in the microwave.

There are only three floors. I went out to grab a bite ² eat & had to wait TWENTY MINUTES before the elevator came. It only came because Mỳ Husband went to fetch it. I called the front desk and the clerk made some sound effects then put Mə on hold. Called the posted maintenance number on the front desk door which had an extension and no answer. Of course I want a FULL REFUND!! However, certain the hotel will DENOUNCE the allegations. That is how the stay in business. Instead of these third parties STANDING UP for the customers they take the property owner's denial as the truth.

It was conveniently located to the beach area and convention center and within walking distance to some restaurants nearby and a few miniature golf courses very close by. Being at a corner near the main drag had some traffic noise, but the AC fan drowned a lot of it out. Swimming pool was closed during my mid September stay.

The stay was pretty nice and the room was clean except the toaster in the room looked like it had been used ,but as for the people coming to clean the room they were always asking if we needed anything of which I liked.The front clerk was nice also .It was alittle noisy at night at times ,but it was cause if the club not far from us but overall the stay was pretty good.

At night they was renting parking spots to people to just sit there and sell drugs out of their cars, music playing from their cars all night. The place is not worth staying at.

Horrible stay - total disaster. We chose this property specifically because it included a kitchen. Kitchen was useless to us as there was no pots/pans, dishes glassware or silverware. Also, the motel did not address our noise complaints about neighbor; we had two nights were neighbors were loud late into night despite our complaints to front desk.

Super friendly staff, they actually remembered us from the last time that we stayed. The room was cleaned and they have staff who comes in the morning and afternoon to bring fresh towels and supplies if needed. No breakfast, but they did have a coffee machine that my husband loved to use all day long. Super easy parking with lots of spaces, and not too long of a walk from the beach. Would not recommend Guad’s, but I do recommend Casa Burritos and Bowls down the street to the right or Las Palmas but that one’s a bit of a walk

Didn't like. Infastructure is dated. (Elevator, ice machine, broken pavement, etc.)

My husband and I wanted to head from Ohio to Virginia Beach to celebrate our babymoon. We chose Sundial Inn as our weekly vacation spot. Beginning the trip to Sundial Inn, I did what many do and checked the reviews. Nothing glaringly obvious – not the best around but very affordable given the location. After our ten-hour drive, we arrived at Sundial Inn and were met with lackluster staff that really didn’t seem they could care less about our experience. Checking into our room, we found it to be a little less than ideal – not cleaned too well with a looming presence of fruit flies. All of this could be forgiven given the price and location. I am not one to leave reviews, but the reason I am leaving one here is because after two days into our seven-day stay, we found not one, not two, but three cockroaches upon awakening. To say we were disgusted and frustrated is putting it lightly – we had food in the room’s fridge, cooked and stored food with the room’s appliances, had clothing and towels hanging to where the cockroaches were available. We had no idea what was safe and what was potentially touched by bugs. We spent the beginning of the day repacking for a 10-hour drive because we did not have the budget to await a refund from Sundial Inn. The hotel staff did not seem at all surprised at the mention of a cockroach and were relatively dismissive altogether.

I was worried about staying here because of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! The room was clean , decent size, perfect location, the staff at the desk were very helpful and the housekeepers were very attentive and conscientious- and it was a great price! (Through the week that is- make no mistake, when the weekend hit their prices quadrupled because of a festival going on- but that’s EVERY hotel and they have to compete). That is all I need in a hotel near the beach!!! If I come back to Virginia Beach, this will definitely be my go to!

Room was clean, ac good and not too loud. We just stayed one night. Perfect for our visit.hotel was busy.

The room was fairly clean the rooms just need an upgrade. We walked to the beach so even though the place isnt oceanfront, it is walking distance. Overall the stay wasn't bad

We stayed at this hotel based upon the website. The tenants were noisy until 2 am. We were unable to get any sleep. Are daughter was very disappointed w the noise. The children were running around making noise without any supervision from an adult. There should be some guidelines put in place (no noise after 9pm, children must remain in rooms with adults at all times. The beds were hard and impossible for my husband to sleep on. A door should be in place to divide the vanity off from the bathroom.

Room was as advertised. Very close to the boardwalk and food options. Very good location and price.

This was a quick stop one night for us and it was decent. Parking was kind of tight and there was some construction going on at one end of the property while we were there. Check in was quick and easy, Room we got had a little kitchenette with a full fridge and sink and oven but there were no utensils which made it hard to cook anything so be mindful of that. The room was nice and clean which was a plus, and has a nice size TV with cable. Elevator was suspect but it worked. Location was good, as it was close to the beach and surrounding areas with restaurants nearby so no need to worry about parking as you already have one at the Inn. The place was surprisingly quiet except the outside noises like sirens and planes flying by. Bed was decent didn't wake up with a sore back like some other places we've been to. Overall, it was good, if we were to stay a few days we could deal with it being close to the beach. If there were utensils that would make it better otherwise if you plan on staying a few days, you'll have to provide your own. Also it was easy to find as it's off the main road coming off the highway.

Staff is super friendly and helpful. It looks like the ownership needs to take care of the rooms and area around it better, photos are probably 10 years old. We could not stay here and had to cancel our booking and were able to get partial refund. For the amount of money they are charging per night, the expectations were high. This hotel will give you highway motels vibes that charge $80 per night, which is probably they should not $200.

The location was good, but I would like to see assign parking spaces for guess. No one likes having to wait for a parking space to become available if you leave to tour the town.

The property was very nice, not dirty and the workers were very kind when I asked questions, highly recommend.

Very convenient to get to from the interstate. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, although the bathroom could have used a little more cleaning. Nothing really dirty or gross, but some things were definitely overlooked. This hotel is directly across the parking lot from a nightclub that has live music until after midnight. And it’s loud. We had the tv and a sound machine on and could still hear it. The hotel is also in the direct flight path for the naval airbase. It is very loud in this area. On the day of check out, a random man from the hotel knocked on our door at 10:30 am and then left. Even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door. As a single mother traveling alone with a child, who does not know anyone in this city, this was definitely concerning. I asked at the front desk about it and was told sometimes they do that since check out is 11, just to see if anybody needs towels to shower. I have stayed in many hotels in VA Beach and all over the US and this has never happened anywhere else. Also, the room security is minimal at best. One lock on the door, nothing else.
