    The front desk staff were amazing. The location is perfect for spending time at the beach and walking the boardwalk. Our room was very comfortable and had a great ocean view. Breakfast was good and having a kitchen and laundry facilities saved us a lot of money and hassle.

We had no sheets for the sofa bed or pillows or anything as well as no blankets etc for the extra bed they brought , which we had to call and remind them about .

    Stayed a week for my birthday vacation. First two nights, saw small roaches in the kitchen at night and there was a leak from the utility closet. Both issues were resolved in a timely manner; we were moved to a different (cleaner) room and the maintenance person came within 15min to fix the leak. Other than these issues, the stay was 2.5 stars. Side note, housekeeping did not check on us at any point; had to request service via front desk.

The valet were rude and snarky and would be on their phones all day. Would not even look up to greet you. The room was cleaned in a rush and cleaning supplies were left out on the counter. They were doing construction on the balcony railings from 8am-7pm everyday. It was loud and contractors were staying at the hotel and would slam doors well after 10pm. Our balcony extended out further than all the other balconies and debris from the construction was falling all over our towels and clothing. We were never told to not go on our balcony and I had to tell the GM about the falling objects on our balcony that could have killed us. He then said that he would change the 8-1/2 by 11 notice in the desk to tell all occupants on the 2nd floor to not use their balcony. The GM blamed the contractors and the contractors blamed the GM. It was a huge oversight that could have hurt my family. We will never stay there again.

    Room was nice and clean to start, but AC didn’t work and wasn’t fixed properly until after 3rd night. Hot tub didn’t heat (colder than pool). Room was never serviced, in our 5 night stay I had to go to front desk for towels and even toilet paper. Will likely not stay here again.

    The breakfast was fine and the Jacuzzi was great. The dishes were dirty. Glasses were not clean but put into the cabinet anyway. There was no HEAT in our room for the entire stay. Management brought in two space heaters for my husband and I to use for heat. The furnace.that was in the room was so loud that we couldn’t sleep on have a normal conversation. I won my business and work three shifts,so this trip was very important to us. It was also my birthday. I’m 66 & my husband is 73 years old and this has to be one of the worst trips I have ever been on. We left before check out. Now I am sick with a cold because of that room. I will go to Virginia Beach again but I will NEVER stay at another Marriott hotel again.

    I like that it was right on the beach and I had a kitchen to cook for my family. My neighbors made a noise complaint because my partner and I was having sexual intercourse. My prejudice neighbors kept making false claims that I was smoking in my room, but at the time they said I was smoking I was not even in my room for over an hour. Mind you they were the same neighbors that were making noise complaints. We have bugs in our room and when we let them know all they said they would investigate, but nobody ever came.

    Our room had a ozone cleaner running when we checked in with trash in trash can, used sink sponge and smelled like noodles because that was what was in the trash can. Also the pool had what look like chunks of hair floating around in it. The hot tub was cold at one point but they did quickly fix it which was appreciated.

    Unfortunately, Residence Inn dropped the ball on our stay. They told us they couldn't accommodate our stay, and after we had a room, and unloaded our stuff, we were told we had to give up our room. They tried to tell us they told Expedia to handle the call, but we did not receive a call until we were in Virginia Beach. No one left a voicemail to let us know we no longer had a confirmed, paid in full reservation. I am currently waiting on the manager of that hotel to call me to discuss this situation further. He did reach out last week to apologize, and said he would call me after our vacation in OCMD was over. I never in my life had a vacation ruined by such incompetence. It so sad that we had such a communication breakdown. We were a repeat customer to this hotel, only to be left with nowhere to go once we got to Virginia Beach. This was an awful traumatic experience, and hopefully no one has to go through what we did on September 20th. Hopefully the Residence Inmates good for what they put us through.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Had ocean view and right next to Neptune statue. Was not noisy. Had a great stay!

    Overly priced. We had a small square ocean front balcony. The toilet paper was held on by one side and the pole. Other side was broken off. Small holes all in the leather couch cushions since they are pet friendly location. The pull out couch also had springs showing and sunk in the middle. Two of us slept in the floor. Which is great when you have sciatica and the other has a herniated disc. Also, didn't like not having my ride any place near me. A friend of mine was 4 hotels down from me. Indoor and outdoor pool and a large balcony ocean front as well. Their ride was right across the street and they had access to it the whole time. For half of what I paid and they got 3 nights and 4 days for little more than $400. Mine was 2 nights and 3 days for almost $900.

    Stay was fine until front desk was rude , and eyed with an look coming in & out all weekend during our stay . Told security to come to our room specifically at 1am for smoking marijuana when we didn't have any possession of that . I just did not like my stay due to front desk and management .     Upon our arrival at 10 PM on June 15, we were met with a strong, unpleasant odor in our initial room. Rooms are not the same. Despite our exhaustion, we tried to overlook it, but soon discovered large flying insects in the room, which greatly distressed our children. We immediately contacted the front desk, who assured us help was on the way. After an hour passed with no one arriving, my husband, despite the damaged elevator, went down to the front desk. He was again assured that someone would be sent with bug spray. Another hour went by, past midnight, with no assistance. We then discovered more bugs in the sink and spiders crawling on the bathroom walls. We requested a room change, but were initially told no other rooms were available. After much frustration, at 1 AM, we were finally offered a room on the 14th floor. We repacked all our belongings and moved, only to find the new room had a severely leaking shower head with no water pressure, a problem that persisted despite our multiple attempts to get it fixed. A plumber was eventually sent, but he was only able to address the water flow, not the leak. For the entirety of our four-night stay, we endured the constant noise of the leaking shower. Additionally, the room curtains were broken. So many issues.

We then discovered more bugs in the sink and spiders crawling on the bathroom walls. We requested a room change, but were initially told no other rooms were available. After much frustration, at 1 AM, we were finally offered a room on the 14th floor. We repacked all our belongings and moved, only to find the new room had a severely leaking shower head with no water pressure, a problem that persisted despite our multiple attempts to get it fixed. A plumber was eventually sent, but he was only able to address the water flow, not the leak. For the entirety of our four-night stay, we endured the constant noise of the leaking shower. Additionally, the room curtains were broken. So many issues.

    Our first night we did not have ac. They moved us to a room that was bigger. Then about 10 mins later told us we had to move again bc someone else needed that room in the morning. They moved us to the top floor. Sounds cool but not when they’re doing construction on the roof? We were woken up to drilling most mornings of our 5 night stay. The breakfast is by far the best quality and selection of all the properties we've stayed at. Having the living room and full kitchen separate from the bedroom gives it the condo feel.     We were not informed maid service would be every other day, we had to look for someone to take the trash. There was no hot water in rooms for most of the week. While valet parking sounds great but it sometimes took 20-25 minutes to get your car. The breakfast looked great but food was not hot,I wonder if the temperature was adequate to prevent bacterial growth. The hallway smelled like smoke and marijuana, we reported it to the office but it took 4 days till they placed a filter in the hall. Hallways were never vacuumed. While this was a pet friendly hotel, I was surprised at the large amount of dogs staying here. Don’t plan on sitting outside on the balcony. The air conditioner blasted hot air and loud noise on you, making it impossible to enjoy sitting outside on the balcony.

    The hotel is an older property and parking is an issue. That being said, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, were all stellar. We were blessed to not have to use the free valet parking since we always found a parking space in front of the hotel. Room - clean, had plenty of towels, a/c is noisy (older property) but overall the room met our needs. Also, great ocean view. Free Breakfast - lots of options including make your own waffles. Staff here were great too. Location - perfect, right on the boardwalk. Overall, a very good stay.

It still was never resolved. I called today after my check out, to leave Chris a message so that he doesn't forget to keep his end of the deal. Other than the air conditioning, the hotel and the location was great!

    Location was wonderful, breakfast was good but some foods were a little too spicy. The bedroom had a wonderful view with the big window. The property was clean, elevators came quickly not a long wait. Pet friendly was a plus. What I didn't like it was too dark in the kitchen area, hard too see while washing dishes, our sliding door was hard to open and close, the sliding door window was dirty couldn't see out of one side, parking is not good, especially for checking in if you are the only adult.

    Location was wonderful, breakfast was good but some foods were a little too spicy. The bedroom had a wonderful view with the big window. The property was clean, elevators came quickly not a long wait. Pet friendly was a plus. What I didn't like it was too dark in the kitchen area, hard too see while washing dishes, our sliding door was hard to open and close, the sliding door window was dirty couldn't see out of one side, parking is not good, especially for checking in if you are the only adult.

    Love VA Beach, convenient location, super helpful friendly staff. Hotel not in a great condition, almost everything was broken and not very clean. Sticky floor, sticky carpets with stains, weird oppressive smell in the room took few days to air out, broken balcony door, impossible to open, stained window in the living room could not be cleaned, hard to see anything though, safe was broken, only stove and microwave, no oven, only 1 pot and pan, stained old bath towels, loud rattling AC unit placed right in the bedroom also stained with big rust leaks, at least clean bed sheets and comfortable beds and view from the balcony was amazing!

    The hotel over-all is old with a few upgrades. Closet doors broken, tiles craked, curtains disfuntional, the heater was extremely nosy and i had to turn it off over the night and I got very cold and sick.

    The parking situation was the only down fall. They had valet, but it took a long time to get our car even after calling down to ask the valet to go ahead and retrieve the care before we headed down. Everything else was good.

    The property was immaculate, and looked like it had just been renovated in the most modern style. Everyone was very helpful, from the front desk staff (special shout-out to Alison!) to housekeeping to the valets to the folks taking care of the breakfast buffet.

    We enjoyed our stay! Everyone was helpful and friendly. My main complaints would be to designate rooms /floors that don’t have dogs in them. Our couch was ruined by a dog, the dog next door barked endlessly and it was annoying as hell! And having only one working elevator and everyone else bringing big dogs up and down made it difficult for us disabled to get to our room.

    Compared to other beach stays in the past this one was the most enjoyable. The property was super clean. The beach also was clean no hard sea shells or seaweed on the beach. The staff always greeted good morning! I wish I could have stayed longer it was a great weekend stay!

    Checking in was terrible, front desk staff had an attitude and don’t care. Hotel’s policy say check in at 4:00pm but we were told that room is not ready because they’re short handed and made us wait til more than 4:30pm before we can check in. The elevator was broken ( you can not call the elevator up from floor 5,6,7,8,9 and if you want to go down you have to call front desk staff to send it up to you). The room wasn’t clean properly there were empty bottles and cans left on the windowsill behind the curtain from previous guests. This is the last time we stay at this hotel, will not coming back.

    The only really bad thing was the air conditioning. It was so noisy that we had to turn it off at night to be able to sleep. Also when sitting on the tiny balcony, the heat from the conditioner vented straight at you and was very hot, so you couldn’t sit out when it was on. Other than that a very comfortable stay. The lifts had a mind of their own too….

    Be warned this hotel accepts dogs and we had a yelping dog next to us that was very annoying. Every time we entered or exited our room the dog in the adjacent room would bark for 30 mins. Not the hotel’s fault, but I would consider another hotel upon returning to Va Beach Service was great at check in, but had to go downstairs for additional towels after calling housekeeping.
