I’ve stayed at least 6 times. All rooms face the ocean and boardwalk, close to anything you need within walking distance and although it’s a little outdated, the staff keep it exceptionally clean, neat and comfortable The parking lot is not very big but the overflow lot is less than a block away and there is no extra fee.

Although an older hotel it is clean and well kept. Personnel are very friendly and accommodating. It is right on the boardwalk and beach. NA

The hallway on the 5th floor was very hot. Moths were in our room. My husband killed 3, including a wasp! no our door was closed at all times! We asked the front desk girl early morning with tattoos what the address was so we could get a Uber...she DIDN'T KNOW! WOW!! The pool was clean but the pipes and walls were very dirty, disgusting! Did not offer breakfast. We will never stay there again!!!

Building is a little out dated, but it serves it's purpose. Right on the beach and the staff is friendly. Will be going back to the beach and will be staying there again.

Staff was super nice. A room is a room. It wasn't terrible. My biggest issue and biggest deal breaker is the balcony. It is basically one large balcony for the entire floor with a little gate to separate you from your neighbor. ZERO privacy on the balcony which sucks when you're trying to enjoy your space. That's the one and only main reason I would not book again. Zero privacy on balcony. Literally looking at your neighbors.

Location was good, but that’s about it! My son and I entered the first room and the television was a 19”. The room smelled like smoke and mildew. I went downstairs to complain and they moved us to another floor. At least this room had a bigger tv, however the toilet was crooked there were no chairs on the balcony, I was told by the front desk “dude” to reach over the balcony and “steal” one from the other balcony! The refrigerator was locked on max so all of my food that I brought had to be put on the bottom shelf and it still froze. When I asked for towels I was given ones that I perceived as dirty and were just folded and handed to me! The parking was atrocious! My son uses a wheelchair and I had to park in a fire lane! I would give this hotel less than one star!

Location and staff Landline phone did not work for the first three days of our stay. Only on day four, after numerous complains, it was fixed. Add to this inability to contact Front Desk the fact that power outlets were so outdated they did not work and you have a major security issue. There was no coffee maker that is listed in the room facilities: we had to ask for it. Walls, furniture - all were outdated, old. Floor in the balcony was worn out. Water was leaking to our balcony from the top floors - not sure if from the other balcony or the roof. AC had a sign of major damage. Fan in the bathroom was not working properly: it was loud and did not prevent the bathroom from becoming wet and slippery after any shower.

Resort is in the perfect location close to most everything. Staff is friendly and the complex is very clean. They have bike rentals and a convenience store on site. I will recommend the Ocean resort to my family and friends.

Oceanfront, amazing location, lemonade in lobby, good parking. Balcony was dirty with trash, door to room kept making noises every few minutes. Not sure if this was room pressure changes, pipes, or what but the noice at night was an inconvenience

The room was pretty clean. We got there early so they were able to get us in a little earlier. Very friendly customer service. It served the purpose we needed it for. I would stay again. Was worth the money. if i wanted something great id pay more for a better hotel. No soap in dispenser in bathroom. There was a used tissue behind the bed. Bottom drawer of dresser kept opening up on its own wouldnt stay shut. And the elevator made you wonder if it was gonna open back up.

The location is very convenient and the beds were clean. While the room was very clean the bathroom door was peeling at the bottom! The tub was stopped an filled with water before even taking a shower an the bottom of the tub was peeling as well the ac unit was very old an barely worked it was easier to leave the door open at night an catch the breeze from the 60° weather outside. The curtain situation where it dosent close completely is just insane. You wake up with a face full of sun rays in yur eyes. The TV is very small and you cant even connect anything to it such as a roku/firestick/phone so I was stuck with nothing to watch honestly I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone! And I will not be coming back! I took the stairs most of the time because the elevators felt unsafe an the paperwork for the elevator was hidden at the front desk! Half the lights on the elevator didnt even work properly and or were missing! The pool area is covered in mold and very unsanitary

Location right on beach Staff was rude, hotel was raggedy and ran down, the pool was disguising. Bathroom sink and tub did not drain properly had to switch rooms first night because bathtub wouldn’t drain. Both parking lots were cramped and full. Elevator broke down and someone was stuck inside for a short time. Front desk and maintenance man was arguing and being very unprofessional in main lobby while guests were trying to check in. Overall horrible experience.

We enjoyed our time not the cleanest. Bathroom tub was pretty gross. It needs to be redone but the location was top tier!

This property is NOT the experience they post online. The property itself is a disgrace, mold spots all over the ceilings, old disgusting furniture, the mattress legit had a DIP in there center. I started sneezing and wheezing from the minute I checked into the property. Addressed it with staff and they said there was nothing they could do, waited 3 hours for a Manager to get back to me, before I finally checked out and found a new hotel. I contacted Hotels.com to remedy the situation and they ensured the Manager would make it right. I still have yet to hear anything. I simply ask for a refund, and if this is for a Family vacation STEAR CLEAR of this place. I took plenty of pictures and plan to continue to escalate this until it's made Right!!!

The staff was very friendly and the balcony was nice but other than that it was terrible. The room was so old, out dated, smelled bad and felt gross. The sheets very clean but other than that there was a leak coming from the ceiling, the shower & bath tub were dirty and dingy and things were falling apart. I guess it’s what you pay for but I would strongly discourage you from staying here. You will likely regret it.

the bathroom needs some updating. no grab bars in shower. slow drain. the non-slip shower mat is starting to peel up and has a sharp corner. vent fan non-functional.

Great views.of the beach and waterfront. Hotel needs updating for price paid. Online pictures are deceiving and dont portray actual hotel looks inside and out. Amenities were scarce and difficult to get clean towels. Understaffed. No smoking policies on balconies or rooms were not enforced and could smell Marijuana during all hours. Great outdoor things and restaurants along the boardwalk.

No breakfast just coffee. I ate breakfast at a place called Mary's on 17th st. I mostly enjoy the oceanview from my balcony. There were long hairs in the bathroom sink. Since I'm bald I'm sure they weren't mine. I'm sure the room was cleaned just not thoroughly.

The staff were extremely friendly, and Sheila was the great leader of the team. Thank you for all . I just spent there a few days, but I will come back again.

Easy check in, the view was great and it was clean Definitely not enough parking for how many rooms are there but they offer parking a block over which doesn't bother me but its out of view so we had to walk over a few times to check on it. The pillows suck had to use 3 pillows to actually have a pillow, no blow dryer, the pool area isn't the cleanest, and elevators take forever so we took the stairs most of the time.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ocean Resort- my room was comfortable and the ocean front balcony was great. Location was great- ocean front accessibility and nice mid way point of the boardwalk, easy, quick walk to food, shopping, and the pier. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the store in the lobby was helpful for picking up beach supplies and snacks. Parking was easy. I really didn't have any complaints- it was a good value for an ocean front stay and staff was pleasant and accommodating. The hotel is somewhat "no frills" and older, but it was clean, comfortable, and provided all the basics I needed for a pleasant stay. I have paid more from some real dives at Va Beach there not ocean front, this place was a real gem for the price.

The beds were comfortable, the view was awesome, plenty of room in the hotel room. The natural flavored water in the lobby was so good and the gift shop is so convenient! Nice indoor pool. The price is right!! The place needs a bit of an upgrade but it's an amazing value for beachfront.

The stay was just okay. There was no room cleaning during our entire five-day stay. Management claimed they are still following COVID-19 protocols, meaning we had to replace our own towels and empty our own trash. Additionally, there was an unknown man sleeping on the lobby couch on Monday between 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM, and it was unclear if he belonged to the staff. This raised some safety concerns.

The cost is reflective of all this, so if you are there to be close to the beach, in walking distance of decent restaurants, and to spend your money on the sights and restaurants, not a super fancy motel- this is the place for you. I would note one thing that I definitely did not like, the balconies are all attached to each other, so if someone wanted to, it would be easy for them to come on to your balcony. For this reason, we made sure to always keep the door locked if we weren’t on the balcony. I’d keep in mind if I were traveling alone.

Air conditioning BARLEY worked. We had it set to 63 and it felt like 70! Tried taking a nice hot shower. Oh wait, that's right they DON'T have ANY hot water. Their water feels like outdoor rain its so cold. Says it's a resort but I never saw a restaurant inside. Water has day old fruit floating in it for flavor but the strawberries looked moldy. Only good thing I can say about this place is that there were thankfully NO bedbugs! Not worth the money paid. Next time I'll pay a little extra to go to the Holiday Inn Express!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the location was great. We had some issues with our first room, but the lovely ladies at the front desk were quick to fix our issue and get us in a new better room and accommodated our early check in request too!! The place felt a bit outdated and in need of some remodeling and fixing up, especially the pool area and the elevator. And although it said no smoking throughout the property, the hallways and elevator smelled of old cigarette smoke which was a little off putting, especially with little kids.

It was a beautiful view of the ocean. It was store and food places all around great location. The soap and body wash dispenser was nice in the bathroom. The parking is horrible had to wait 30 minutes to get a park. The dresser need to be replaced the drawers wouldn’t stay closed kept bumping my leg so I finally put paper in between to keep it closed. The tv’s small and need to be updated.

You need to know that this place is a dump (peeling paint, bad repair jobs, weird stains, threadbare towels, etc). I knew that. I've stayed there a few times. I'm probably done there. Why do I keep going back? The location is prime, and it's one of the cheapest places on the boardwalk. So if you like to save money and you're not too fussy, this place may be for you. It's right on the boardwalk, and the AC works.

Perfect location on the beach Only issue was hot water in tub, place was completely booked due to a marathon happening in town but management gave us a key to a room that was being remodeled and we went to that room to shower first 2 nights but once most people left we had hot water in our bathroom! But was a great stay besides that!

The reservation was fully paid and NON-REFUNDABLE, so naturally I expected that our room was secured. After driving almost 4 hours with my family and kids, we arrived around 6 PM ready to check in — only to be told at the front desk that our reservation had been CANCELLED the SAME DAY of our arrival. Their explanation was that they “tried to call me in the morning” and I supposedly did not answer. First of all, I checked my phone logs immediately and there were NO missed calls, NO voicemail, and NO email notification whatsoever. But even IF they did attempt to contact me, how is it acceptable to cancel a fully paid reservation on the day a family is arriving? People make travel plans, drive long distances, and rely on hotels to honor confirmed bookings. What made this even worse was the complete lack of concern for the situation they created. We were left scrambling to find another hotel on a Saturday night in Virginia Beach — knowing same-day hotel rates are much more expensive and availability is limited. After a long drive with exhausted kids, the last thing any family should deal with is being stranded without a room because a hotel decided to cancel a confirmed reservation hours before arrival. The hotel kept mentioning that I would receive a refund “within a few days.” Honestly, the refund was not even the main issue at that point. The real issue was the stress, inconvenience, ruined travel plans, wasted time, and the fact that they completely left us hanging after we trusted them with our reservation. This experience showed extremely poor customer service, poor communication, and zero accountability. A confirmed, paid reservation should mean something. Families should not have to worry about arriving at a hotel only to find out they no longer have a room. Very disappointing experience and I would never book here again. The bathtub wouldn’t drain. The beds were dirty and the linens made us itchy. We booked a room with two queen beds, but were given full size instead. Upon nicely bringing to their attention, we were gaslighted and told they were queens. The lamp plug ins were broken. Most of the television channels didn’t work. WiFi was crap. The ice machines were down. There are ridiculous rules to use the pool.

The room was in fact not what was advertised and the pictures did not match the actual integrity of the room. We actually decided to make reservations at a different hotel after the first night and left. They initially had our room stay dates wrong, regardless of all the information I provided from Expedia. There was what we suspected was black mold on the ceiling and we made a point to mention that to front desk staff. The pillows were not full-sized pillows, literally just square bags of fluff. Couch and carpet was stained and ripped, cracks along the walls and ceiling, and the bathroom was so small that the door almost touched the toilet and my husband barely fit in the shower, which we also suspected to have black mold. We were supposed to stay three nights and we only stayed one. We mentioned all the above to the front desk staff at checkout and made sure to let them know that we were leaving because of poor conditions.

This is a great little hotel a very nice oceanfront balcony .The place is a little dated small improvement needed starting with cable outlets multiple ones. For the price of the room you kinda know what to expect. I will say great location nearby a lot of activities, restaurants and shops. The hotel is very clean air circulation is very good no moldy odor. Rooms were very nice and roomy. The bathroom is tight but the bathroom counter space is very long so you can have room for your toiletries, makeup and hair products and accessories . Overall I would definitely stay again and I would also recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget. One more thing I almost forgot parking is free, No usb cable outlets anywhere luckily I had my back up charger

The very friendly and helpful staff make the stay! Balconies are semi private but hey you get to meet your neighbor. Indoor pool is heated but the heat could be turned up more. Fresh fruit water in the lobby! Comfy beds and soft towels.

Also, the parking lot is inadequate when the hotel is near full occupancy. The overflow parking is in a backlot up a side street across from the hotel and so somewhat inconvenient.

Location, pool size and water temperature was pretty good!!! Pool doesn’t have a door to connect to the building so I good a cold for getting out after swimming in the pool, plus I didn’t see a restroom close to pool area. Also needs update!!!

The staff were very helpful and nice. The room was clean and beach view is a plus. I just hope the they will renovate the entire building I saw rusted elevator, broken door, old equipment and cabinets not working. But overall it’s close to everything and I like the free parking for the guests enough parking for the guests.

Well the stay was average but our truck topper got stolen right off our truck the first night. No cameras in parking lot. Made police report but nothing could be done. Our advice would park in front or where people cannot stay hidden. That soured our trip big time. Facilities were adequate but by no means resort quality!!!! It was clean but dated. So for the penny saver this would be the place. I give them 3 stars or a C grade. Lots of improvements to be made but has potential. Love from Minnesota a Military family.

Hotel 2-3 star. Front desk staff helpful but no room service for towels etc due to poor staffing. Fruit water in lobby was awesome- appreciated that!! VA Beach as a destination was disappointing. Would not return. Loud, food mediocre at best but expensive, understaffed everywhere and the staff at every location were not friendly ( except hotel), did not feel safe in VA Beach. Curfews imposed due to recent violence. Sad. The ocean was beautiful though!

The location was nice. The property smelled of smoke (both kinds), the elevators kept stalling, the rooms were dirty, and we found a LIVE COCKROACH in the bed the morning after my daughter slept in it. We were supposed to get a call from the manager and never did.

the room was great for the price however the hotel does need updating. The room we occupied was okay but the bathroom ceiling had water damage in need of repair. The pool area was clean however the smell of bleach and chlorine immediately hit you upon entry and it also needs updating. But again for the price we paid the hotel was good, just outdated!

The room was dirty. I found weed on the floor and a dirty towel in a drawer. The staff was poorly trained and overflow parking was a block away. Not good at all!!!

The best part was the large room that was clean. The view was also amazing, we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony. The staff was also very personable and helpful. The downside was the hotel just being in need of renovation, other guests causing the hallways and elevator to smell like weed.

The location right on the beach was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The attached store was also convenient and reasonably priced. However, there were several issues. The first two rooms we were shown had small flying bugs on the walls, so we had to switch. The room we stayed in was basic and mostly clean, but had a strong “wet dog” smell that didn’t go away. The carpet needs replacing. The balcony setup lacks privacy—there are no dividers, so you can see and easily access neighboring balconies, which felt uncomfortable. The walls are very thin, and loud neighbors one night made it hard to sleep. The room had a desk but no chair, which was odd. The pool area was not usable in my opinion—it didn’t appear clean, had heavy condensation, and water covered much of the seating area. Parking was also difficult, and we had to use overflow parking across the street the entire stay. I have lower expectations for oceanfront hotels, which is why I’m giving 3 stars. Otherwise, it would be closer to 1–2.

We went there for my birthday. Our room was dirty outlet cover was off but things was plugged in thank god our children wasn't with us they are small and thats dangerous. Microwave had a short in the cord wires was showing and was sparkling. The tv you could hardly see its old and no cable. The blankets was dirty and thin and very rough feeling. The room next door had a Bluetooth speaker and played music so loud all night long the bass shook the walls nothing was done about it wass are paper then and we went even talk about the pot small all though the hotel worst stay ever i should pictures to front desk as i was leaving she wrote everything down.

Air conditioning was horrible room didn't get cool at all had to sleep with balcony door open (April) Staff was extremely rude after requesting towels multiple times and having to go get them myself house keeping showed up while I was in the shower banging on the door like they were the police mind you the beach was on lock down with a mandatory curfew due to the high crime going on in Virginia Beach I had to jump out of the shower with only a hand towel thinking it was a emergency all for the housekeeper to be extremely rude explaining this was the second time she had to return to the room! Made a complaint at the front desk to her manager... she continued to tell at me in front of other guest and her boss Room never got cleaned trash never taken out no shampoo conditioner or hand soap in the room no toilet paper had to use tissues until my child had to go get toilet paper from the front desk When attempting to go to the pool we were told it was closed due to maintenance after meeting with friends we used their pool later on when we returned the pool WAS in use but was extremely dirty showers not working old and run down definitely needs done upgrading PARKING TERRIBLE hardly any spots in the parking lot you have to park down a dark alley way while lugging your luggage across the street Overall will not be returning

Beach view was amazing. Staff were friendly. The rooms could have been cleaner but it was not an issue. Would be great if they served breakfast but I understand why they don’t, there isn’t room for a kitchen. We would stay here again if we needed to, it was a decent stay on a budget.

Bed sheets dirty, outlets didn’t hold to charge, pillow and bed very uncomfortable that caused back and neck pain. Outdated look and seemed more like a motel. The view was great, it was right on the beach. The cleanliness was terrible. I don’t believe the bedding had been changed on one of the beds, as it still had blue candy stuck all over it. The bathroom was terrible and the shower definitely had not been cleaned. Exposed wires on ceiling, a smashed up bathroom door, and a leaking fridge. This is not what we were expecting after reading the reviews. Very disappointing.

The body soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty. As for the shampoo and conditioner, it was impossible to tell what was actually inside them. The building itself is old, and the walls were peeling in places. The staff at the front desk seemed reluctant to refill the water and coffee provided in the lobby area. I was shocked when someone on an upper floor threw a water bottle down to the ground below! I’m just relieved that no one was injured.

The pool was so cold you couldn't get in it sadly. The coffee pot is pods (taste terrible) They should keep actual coffee pot makers in storage for people who want a pot of coffee. HUGE hit if you'd offer free fresh fruit and/or a popcorn machine in the lobby. When you get your parking spot I suggest you don't move your car you will lose it. But there is another parking lot across the street.

The air conditioning worked great and the room had a wonderful view of the water. The rooms are nice overall with a few cosmetic issues that vould be addressed, but nothing that would take away from the room cleanliness.

The hotel is in a very good location. Close to restaurants and some shops. Unfortunately the facility had no hot water, outlets were very outdated and hanging off the wall. Curtains were falling off and we had to tie it together to keep it from falling. I would stay there, but come prepared to deal with this misfortunes.

The water was not hot. The showers never reached a hot temperature, it was luke warm and the water in the tub did not drain properly, leaving water filling up to your ankles while taking a shower. Because of this, we did not take a shower our second day and just waiting until we got home. Above the bed was a wet/mold spot on the ceiling with paint chipping at that spot. Front desk was nice and helpful, the ocean view was beautiful and the bed was comfortable. Yes, the hotel is outdated but overall the stay was good.

The Good: The View & Balcony: Honestly, the highlight of the stay. The views are incredible and the balcony was a great spot to relax. Room Size: The rooms themselves are quite large and spacious. The Staff: Everyone I encountered was very friendly and professional. The Not-So-Good: General Upkeep: The hotel feels very sparsely kept. There is chipped paint everywhere and the decor is incredibly dated—the pictures on the walls were so old they had actually lost their color. Room Details: The microwave was ancient, the box spring didn't have a cover, and the "pillows" were essentially the size of small throw pillows. The Bathroom: Very small and lacked basic maintenance/deep cleaning. The Pool: We actually avoided using the pool area entirely because it just didn't feel clean or inviting. Verdict: A fresh coat of paint, updated decor, and a much more rigorous cleaning schedule would go a long way here. The location and bones of the building are great, but until some basic investments are made into the guest experience, I won’t be returning.

Told where to park as their parking was full, we were towed and cost 211.00. no extra amenities on site. Beds were comfortable, view was great in. Eight floor balcony if ocean and it had good access to resteraunts and boardwalk.

the resort was clean and located right on the ocean. the room was large enough and the beds and pillows were very comfortable; parking was tight and i had to drive across the street and park behind an unlit building to park my car...it was late at night with two little kids. A little scary. biggest concern was i lost my driver's license a few days earlier and didn't have replacement one yet; and even though t had 14 other types of i.d. they were going to turn me away with my little girls close to midnight; they really should have been more reasonable because i would have been stranded.

The young man who checked me in was excellent. The room was the issue. The sink was clogged when we got there at 7:00, only half of the lock was there for the security lock, there was only one washcloth in the room and it was booked for 2 people I'm also sure there was suppose to be a chair in that room.

The Resort was no resort to me. It was barely a step above a Budget Inn.

The beds were clean and comfortable, and I slept great. One of the best parts was the balcony view from the sixth floor — it was a really nice bonus and made the stay feel relaxing and enjoyable. The free coffee machine was also delicious, and the convenience store attached to the building was very nice for picking up last-minute essentials. The only minor issues were a slow clog in the bathroom drain and the juice machines being empty throughout my stay. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would absolutely stay here again.

All - now if a continental breakfast was included .. would be even better

The check in was seamless. Very nice front desk associate. The room was clean, however serious maintenane needed.. The pool.......very disappointing. Cold. The lighting is probably a safety risk. No lights in the pool its self and one (1) operable light. The saving grace was the pleasant staff.

We have stayed here multiple times and have enjoyed our experience. But the last few times we've seen a trend of guests smoking on the balconies wether it be cigarettes or other substances which can be smelled in adjacent rooms. It's plainly stated no smoking and I know it's hard for front desk employees to police this problem but maybe making a greater effort this very plain verbally to guests. Otherwise we love the location and amenities, staff is always very nice and accommodating.

If you’re going for the pool, call and make sure it’s open and in use during off season. It wasn’t filled when we checked in and the day we were leaving, they were filling it. Kids were upset but the weather wasn’t too bad so the kids enjoyed the beach a little.

Checking in was extremely easy. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She was patient and answered all of my questions. The rooms were clean. Older but it was still nice. There was a cockroach in the refrigerator but that was the only one we saw. The pool wasn’t filled which was disappointing as that was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Parking lot is small and filled up quickly. There wasn’t any signage for overflow parking. We had to go inside and ask about it. Overflow parking isn’t far from hotel but better signage would be helpful. Overall it was a decent stay.

*Beachfront *Best price we could find *Comfortable beds CONS: *On the boardwalk - could have done w/o the permanent & seasonal lighting just outside the window). *Pool closed for maintenance (the indoor pool was one a main reason we chose the hotel, as we were traveling with a 6 year old in Nov.) *Dilapidated. Lights that didn't work, no light over the "kitchen" area, walls and ceilings cracking and peeling, bathroom door disintegrating at the bottom and swollen so much it was difficult to open (and impossible for the 6 year old mentioned above). Most alarming, however, the bathroom counter was pulling away from the walls and sloping downward by about 10-15 degrees. It looked as though it might crash down at any minute! *TV is rather small and centered in front of one bed, rather than between the two. MEH: *Service. Friendly enough, but not very helpful. (Just one example - we called the front desk to ask if they had complimentary toothbrushes, as a member of our party had forgotten theirs. The answer was "No, we are waiting for a shipment. Sorry." Not unkind, but better would have been for them to note there was a Walgreens half a block away, which we discovered on our own when going to purchase one ourselves.) *Cleanliness: mold-free bathroom; sheets clean, but top cover needed a wash; small roach spotted on lampshade.

I travel to Va Bch often on business and stay on beach front properties in the off season. This property has changed ownership several times. The condition now is improved from years past but not good. This hotel has one redeeming feature, accessible on site parking. Most other Atlantic Blvd hotels have very restrictive parking, valet park or off site. Pros: parking, location (middle of the strand), interstate access. Cons: not particularly clean, no breakfast, room service by request only on multi day stays, less than friendly staff, electric outlet availability (bring a power bar, you'll be lucky to find 1 or 2 unused receptacles and you will not want to try and reach them to unplug lights or appliances), and a generally run down condition. All said its not as bad as some of the reviews state and with the homelessness and increasing crime in the area you will not want to be walking a block or more to retrieve your car at night. I'll continue to use this hotel while I search for an affordable alternative.

Night shift front desk girl was great. Room was great. Did have a slow drain in shower. Room was nice, beautiful oceanfront view with chairs on balcony. Parking is rough at times, but they do have another lot across the street in the alley which isn’t far from the hotel. The area around the hotel is nice, there are restaurants across the street. We ate at Chix on the beach 2 days in a row, short drive towards the busier end of the boardwalk….we probably could have walked it. The shrimp, crab legs, and hush puppies are sooo good but be prepared to pay a hefty bill. The only complaint I have is the pop machines need Sierra Mist or coke products. And the hallways need a little paint and more appeal, but I can deal with those things for what I paid. Went on a Friday night, checked out on a Sunday (October) and paid 265. (2 nights) definitely stay here. I’ll be back for sure.

The hotel is in an excellent location. All of the rooms have balconies overlooking the ocean. The sunrises are beautiful! We even saw dolphins one morning. The hotel needs updating. The room was mostly clean. There was black mold on one of the lampshades. Our trip was in October so the rates were much lower. I would have been mad if I had paid in season rates for the room.

Not a good vibe- especially since we had young children. Quick beach access and convenient store below.

The room was adequate, bathroom was small and the door stuck closed and had signs of multiple repairs, Patio was small, it stayed damp from A/c condensate and had two cheap plastic chairs, There were two Hoffman beer trucks parked outside that were very noisy, they ran 24 hours a day the whole time we were there and you couldn't hear anything else. The couch was old and broken down and needed replacing. The outside hallway was very hot and had no means for ventilation. Definitely not a $250 a night room! Parking was minimal on site. I am Handi capped with proper plates and tags, there were 6 Handi capped sites filled with improper cars and no valet parking. Overfill parking was a block away behind another business.

Great view of the ocean. This is the 6th year we have stayed during the Neptune festival. It is central licated for the event. Would recommend this site to anyone looking for a good clean, friendly location. Will stay again next year. Loved it!

This hotel is on the boardwalk at 24th street which is really nice. Easy access to the beach it is also near the beach wheelchairs rental. The room was clean. The light fixture in the bathroom was not working. The water pressure in the shower is really low but overall this is a nice place to stay. I would stay on the 3rd or 4th floor as the elevator takes along time to get to the 7th floor!! But it is a nice view!

Bed sheets looked crinkled like they had not been changed and the other smelled of a person's perfume. Sink did not drain well but shower was nice with sufficient pressure and hit water. The toilet paper holder felt like it was ready to break off from the wall. TV was small. Hallways to rooms are not AC and very hot. Doors are thin and don't shut tight so make sure you pull it shut. AC worked but rattles and is not quiet. Aircraft flights overhead were not deafening like the other hotel we stayed in further down the beach the prior two nights. You get what you pay for.

My room was clean enough. Air conditioner needed to be turned on. Safe. On the beach. Airplanes/jets fly directly overhead and you hear the noise, numerous times throughout the day and early evening. Once I got to sleep, either it stopped or it didn’t wake me. I think it stopped. No restaurant on the premises. Bathroom door couldn’t open all the way because it hit the toilet bowl-really weird, but it didn’t bother me much. Refrigerator and freezer worked well. My stay was mid-late September so few out of towners. TV was useless. 8 stations, 3-4 were religious stations and the others had programs older than me. Beds slept well.

This older hotel is clean with comfortable beds. It has an open parking lot that we like for our truck with a bike rack. The view is great as the whole end of the room was window and sliding glass door. Coffee and juice machine down stairs and a gift shop with some grocery’s attached. Lobby bathrooms with a beach side entrance was great for beach day. The rates were much less than the high end hotels. We will definitely stay there again.

Carpet was torn and coming up, toilet was wabbley, most of the electrical outlets were broken or coming out of the wall, needs an update. Good location and friendly staff.

Stayed for a week. No maid service. Only if you asked. No continental breakfast. Hallway smelled like sewer. The refrigerator in our room exploded our cans of soda. Told the desk they offered to change rooms but never followed up. Would not be my choice next time I’m in Virginia Beach.

The trip was great. The hotel was great. Conveniently close to everything. Will definitely make arrangements for next to stay at the same place.

Wonderful view!

Slow draining sink. No soap in the dispenser. Toilet ran for days. But it's all good. I delt with it. I don't want this to be a bad review but management and housekeeping need to be on top of things better than they are. I have stayed here in the past and never had any issues.

The light in bathroom wasn’t working. Floor was wet. Lock on door was loose inside room. Air and heat unit cover was loose flapping outside making a lot of noise. Left two days early.

They need new pillows as they were lumpy.

I loved that as soon as we walked into the room, the curtains were open and the only thing you seen was the ocean. The room was clean, the only thing I will say that was disappointing was there was only one outlet that worked and we had to call maintenance because the toilet kept running. The didn’t drain while the water was running either but apparently that’s in every room. Other than that, the staff was friendly and we didn’t have any noise complaints. There are a lot of fighter jets that fly over all day up until late at night and they are loud but that honestly didn’t bother me, what bothered me was that I couldn’t get a clear picture of them because they were too fast lol. There are plenty of places to shop and eat within walking distance. If you have kids, The Lost Plant and 3D blacklight mini golf are both a go to. They were so much fun! We will be returning.

Staff was very attentive to our requests for maintenance and housekeeping requests. Liked the beverage machines in the lobby.

Ok place to stay.

We booked this a few weeks in advance. All of the other hotels were a lot more expensive. Overall for the money it was a decent place to stay. We only stayed two nights. The hotel definitely needs to be updated. The room was clean but the beds need updating. My bed was very lumpy and hurt my back. They did have a coffee and orange juice machine in the lobby.

This is a budget friendly hotel. If you don’t plan on spending much time in the room, it’s clean but extremely outdated, large cracks in the ceiling and walls, paint peeling on the balcony, a really small TV with just a few channels (the size of a PC screen), and one of the lowest toilets I’ve seen. The upside is the COFFEE MAKER in the lounge area…it’s very nice. You can choose from Coffee, Hot Chocolate and various specialty coffees. May not seem like much, but it’s a perk! Unfortunately it rained every day of our stay so we were stuck in the room more than usual. Luckily there is a Bowling Alley, “Pinboy’s” just a few minutes away…which has an arcade as well…and reasonably priced! There are also museums and a few other attractions nearby. Would I stay here again…maybe.

Lived the ocean front room.

The service was great. Employees were helpful with any questions that I had. over all lobby was clean. For the amount of money that I paid to stay two nights I feel a lot of upgrades should’ve been done to the facility altogether. The television was very static and unable to watch the bathtub. Was stopped up in the water, drained very slowly as well as the sink. I just feel like it would’ve been a better experience if I would’ve had access to a television that worked.

Location was good. Older property not well maintained. The safe didn’t work told it was broken. Sink drained very slow and didn’t drain well, not fixed after I told them. Bathroom door knob was very loose, this was fixed. They ran out of towels. Noisy air conditioner.

The property was located in a wonderful spot on the VA beach strip. There was so much to do directly outside of the hotel! We loved the spot, but the cleanliness of the hotel rooms are definitely lacking, and sadly I would not consider Ocean Resort again solely for that reason.

Booked room for a girls trip with my sisters for a concert on the beach. Lovely view but refrigerator compressor motor was very loud and the only way to silence it was to unplug the refrigerator. Room was clean but my sister was bitten by something as she slept. Would I book again, maybe.

The property is pretty old but the bed and bath room are clean, towels and bedding sheets are clean. Location is good and very convenient.

Staff were great! Super friendly and helpful. The room was not up to par. The toilet seat looked like it belonged in a crack house. Carpet was sticky and tore up. Bathtub didn’t drain, despite many efforts to fix it. Balcony isn’t private. Despite all the signs, the no smoking wasn’t enforced, so we sadly had to stay in our room due to the smell and one of our kids being allergic to second hand smoke. It was nice having vending machines and a store in the hotel.

It’s a very convenient for when I want a getaway

This hotel boasts a perfect location, but the building itself is in need of an update. Although the rooms appeared to be well-cleaned, the outdated and worn carpet made me hesitant to walk around without flip-flops.

States no smoking,vaping, or Marijuana on premises- however, it never stopped smelling like skunk weed the whole time we were there. Even outside on our balcony over ocean you still had smell coming from others rooms. People that stuff really smells bad and you can be smelled long before you approach. Just FYI.

The hotel was pretty average but the price was good. The views from the rooms was stunning and all of the rooms have an ocean view. If we were to stay in Virginia Beach again in the future we would consider this hotel.

Very peaceful

My stay was amazing! My room had the perfect oceanfront view. The hotel staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Now, the hotel itself can use some updating and offer continental breakfast for the price that they charge. The bathroom door barely touches the toilet when you opens the door. The beds are very nice and comfortable. The pillows sucks. The furniture Bach be replaced, etc.

My only complaint is parking. The on-site parking was full the directions given to the off-site lot were look for the building with a green roof you can't miss it. More sinage maps or just better directions would have been great after a 14 hour drive.

Cons: Ceiling over the AC was decaying and pieces fell off and were dispersed into room because of the AC. Front desk acknowledged hotel has maintenance issues. Water was dripping onto balcony furniture from the AC on balcony above us. Back of bathroom door had what looked like toothpaste smeared all over and a huge patched hole. Bathroom door should be replaced. Sheets seemed clean but bed skirts on both beds had stains. Maintained like a low-class hotel but they charge luxury prices.

We came from kentucky, arrived early, but they let us check in sooner! That was very much appreciated

Quiet and nice

The hotel is okay, but honestly, for the price, I expected better. The TV in our room was not properly mounted and was just leaning against the wall—it nearly fell on my 3-year-old, which was very concerning. On our last day, I also noticed baby roaches in the room, which made me worry about bringing them home in our luggage. Housekeeping is only available upon request, and no breakfast is offered. Overall, not the best value for what we paid.

It was perfect for our getaway, we didnt even have to leave the hotel if we didnt want to getting to walk everywhere was a huge plus for us

The room was clean and roomy. The balcony was safe and comfortable, the location is perfectly located. Also, the attached gift shop was perfect for those forgotten essentials.

The location was amazing and that’s where the wonder ends:) parking is a nightmare. Why have 100 rooms and 15 parking spots? And if the 15 spots are taken you must park two blocks away. We can start with the bedside lamp that had obviously been on fire at some point? The AC unit kept needing to be “reset” because it would just cut off and not work. When working it leaked all over the balcony making it an unenjoyable puddle. I was told upon arrival I would need to request the room be cleaned daily if I wanted it cleaned. Though I did walk my butt down every day to request it our room was cleaned once in a four night stay. The refrigerator climate control knob was broken so you couldn’t tell how to adjust but no matter which way I turned it it froze our items. Not to mention the floor around the fridge was molded and disgusting. The smell coming from the microwave was foul and rendered it unusable. The wall by our trash can had obviously never been wiped down, and the bed box spring was stained by obvious substances(gag). Cable was so fuzzy, so we tried our Roku device to no avail because the internet never worked for longer than 5 minutes. We spent as little time in there as possible and 100% will not be returning.

Friendly staff, ample parking, right on the beach with restaurants and shopping options close by. Decent for a non-chain beach hotel. Only issues were there was water coming up through one of the bathroom tiles, had to place a towel over the spot to not step in it and the toilet seat had scuff marks.
