Clean room. Staff helpful. Recommend getting a room with the ocean view and balcony. Bar area is great. Valet’s are fast and helpful. Property could be maintained a bit better. Dirty furniture, carpet and stained pillows in reception area. Poorly maintained gates to enter pool area. Games outside in poor condition ie. Corn hole bags with no corn in them to play. Great location.

We had a great weekend stay at Moxy Virginia Beach. The hotel is right on the boardwalk, which works out great for having a beach day! The hotel had good amenities and the lobby has a fun atmosphere with games to pass the time and a cool bar overlooking the pool and the beach. Will definitely return again.

The room was small but still excellent! Location was wonderful and we had a great time! We will be back again!

It was clean nice lobby. Good food. Only one tiny garbage basket in the bathroom nowhere to put your garbage only one pillow per person very small nowhere to put your luggage nowhere to put a drink very small for more than one person

The Hotel is nice but my only complaint is not having a Small Fridge, Microwave or closet space in the room i picked which was the King Size Partial Beach View.

We had a corner suite beach view room. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The balcony was great for morning coffee and afternoon drinks. The view was wonderful. One of my favorite things was when the fighter jets would fly over. We also saw dolphins every day swimming by. The staff at the Moxy was wonderful. The bar was a lot of fun one night they had music bingo and the DJ was awesome. We really enjoyed the bartenders Takota and MJ.

The place the room the staff the vibe the food and the drink all great great great. Highly recommended for couples and families yes families. You won’t be disappointed. The staff were amazing all along.

Location is fantastic and the staff is great! They were all very helpful and accomodating. I liked the room and it's view. It was a bit noisey but not terribly so. The people in the room next to me were smoking a lot of marijuana and I didn't appreciate the smell.

We had children and they had a slide but you had to be 8 or older to use. Our 21/2 year old is a slide fan and threw a fit everytime we went by it. It would be nice to have something for the smaller children. The pool was not opened either which stunk! They should let you know when booking if the pool will be closed. One of the reasons we booked is for the pool! We won’t be repeat customers. The chip for a free drink was nice but you are limited to what you can order.

You cancelled the reservation on our honeymoon…. Said you called us to let us know but not one missed call was found. Who does that to someone when they show up in wedding attire?

Staff are all good except the guy in the front desk on night duty dated May 19 11pm onwards. They are very helpful and even the girl who serve drinks in the bar is pretty cool her name is MJ.

This was my first Moxy hotel experience and it was outstanding. Loved the simplicity, quirkiness of rooms and common spaced. Will do Moxy when ever i travel. Brilliant.

Staff was friendly, check in was streamlined. You even get a poker chip redeemable for a craft drink at the bar which is cool. There’s also a function slide from the second floor which I don’t care how old you are is cool.

When we arrived, we were very disappointed that the pool was not open, we did not have a refrigerator, microwave, or coffee maker in the room. We brought our concerns to the manager, Brittany, she was extremely helpful and rectified many of our dissatisfaction. She listened to us and let us know we were heard. She did her best to make our stay enjoyable. She is definitely an asset.

overall my family had a great time at the Moxy vb. Loved it was oceanfront and valet parking is right across from the hotel. Our room did have a mini fridge which is a huge plus. Just wish they would add microwaves and it would've been perfect! There is one in the lobby to use but sometimes you just want to order door dash and stay inside. Each night was an activity at the bar. Never a boring night.

When we arrived first, they tried to tell us we had not paid in advance then they informed us that we would not have the king suite that we booked because that room was not "supposed to be available on booking.com." I must say that Moxy is not somewhere where I would plan to stay again. It was my wife's 40th birthday and we had two other couples to book there.

Really fun Hotel!!! It was a great experience!!

I recently stayed at the Moxy Virginia Beach location with my best friend and her family. The trip was planned last minute to celebrate my besties birthday and also her beginning an intensive cancer treatment immediately upon our return home. I told the front desk staff the reason for our stay and requested if they could help by setting up my friend's room to celebrate her birthday and her recent cancer battle. Meagan went above and beyond and set up her room with champagne, treats, and some decorations. This meant to world to my friend and really brightened up our stay. Meagan went up above and beyond and I hope this letter of acknowledgement is well received. She deserves whatever awards and accolades you all offer your employees. Something so every day like a celebration of a birthday was more of a celebration of life and that small gesture meant a lot. Thank you to Meagan and the entire Moxy staff you all did an amazing job to ensure we had an amazing stay. Looking forward to coming back in the future to celebrate again.

No water pressure during our stay. Confronted the manager about the issue, she was rude. I understand there are issues that can happen but you don't charge people full price when you don't have full water pressure to take a shower and shut off water during the day for 3 hours. Shower shampoo broken and laying on the ground of shower. Shower was not clean.

The staff was a exceptional. Beach access was great. We only had two issues. One was cosmetic repairs - the ceiling had been repaired and the patched area was painted a slightly different color. They should have painted the entire ceiling. Also, there was some missing tile in bathroom and sloppy caulking around sink. The second issue was the mandatory valet parking. The lot was very accessible as it is across the street from the hotel. We would have preferred to park our car. Ultimately, we really enjoyed the other aspects of the hotel. So, those issues were very minor. We certainly would stay there again.

An absolutely amazing stay at the Moxy. A beautiful view of the beach and the staff was so helpful and kind. We would def stay there again!

This hotel is very nice and well maintained. Love the beach access and the valet parking. The oceanfront balcony rooms are a must. The bar area has a very nice vibe and nights when Dj is there the music selections are very good. I also love that its only minutes from delicious breakfast at Pocahontas restaurant.

The floor in the bathroom leaks water whenever you pressed in it near the toilet. When we checked out we noticed right away that there was a scratch on the trunk of the car that was not there the night before after dinner.

The design was nice and fun. The bar staff was terrible for a slow Tuesday night. Took over 15 min to even be told hello, then got eye rolls and annoyance the rest of my time sitting there. I would have left but i was very hungry and was staying there:

Very nice day I love the beautiful vibe very friendly staffed on the complaints. Was the bathroom sink in the hallway was having a kind of issues with the drainage. Also, it needs to have a mini fridge within the bedroom in the microwave.

Tge pool was gross and not functional. Beach view was amazing. Balcony room was perfect! The adult slide in the lobby was a hit for my kids.

The room was not very clean. They had no remote for the TV and when I called the front desk to ask for one, they tried to tell me it was in there somewhere..don’t get me wrong it has a lot to offer in other ways but for 170$ a night I’m not impressed.

We chose Moxy as we had stayed at the one in Richmond, Va that was phenomenal. Unfortunately, Moxy in Virginia Beach was not the same experience. We were very disappointed in this property and we had convinced paying friends to come too. The lobby was filthy, there was no coffee and forced to wait for extended periods of time every morning until it was made. It was full of grinds. The bar staff was horribly rude and inattentive as we had to chase them down for a drink. Our tv didn’t work until someone finally helped us the 2nd day. The sink mirror was hanging on by barely a bolt and the light didn’t work. Lastly, we were really annoyed when we found out we didn’t have a fridge in our room but our friends next store who paid the same did. We aren’t picky people and very reasonable but felt like the ball was definitely dropped at this location.

Everything was fantastic! The rooms were clean, all of the hotel staff were nice and friendly, and a good tidbit is the floors have an essentials locker where you can grab extra towels, an iron and ironing board, etc.

This is a very modern hotel. It has wonderful amenities for guests as well as the community. There is an activities offered each day throughout the week, which is really great. The drinks at the bar are really good - not too strong not too weak. There was a really good crowd in the lobby area which I really do enjoy. The hotel staff was very pleasant & my room overall was very clean.

The staff was nice. We put the dirty sheets on the floor for The cleaning stuff and they just put the sheets on the chair they didn’t bother to replace them. I’m not sure if that’s how they do it there it just caught me off guard. But overall I had a great time!

The overall concept of the hotel was appealing; however, the actual experience fell far below expectations. I arrived on time for check-in and was initially issued a key to a room that had not been cleaned and still contained another guest’s luggage. I returned to the front desk and was reassigned a different room, but that room was also unclean. The toilet had visible dried urine. When housekeeping was called, the staff member used the same rag to wipe the underside of the toilet lid and then proceeded to clean the top of the toilet seat and surrounding areas, which was extremely concerning from a sanitation standpoint. Additionally, the ice machine dispensed ice uncontrollably, spilling ice chips everywhere when used. The hallways throughout the hotel were dark and appeared unclean. Overall, this was not a good experience and did not meet basic cleanliness or hospitality standards

Overall, if you like you for drinking, I would say it’s the only thing going for it. I don’t drink heavy, so it was not much for me outside of that.

This was a nice place to stay. Our heat wasn’t working the first night, but after a few phone calls they fixed it. Atmosphere was nice and valet staff was very good. Also, enjoyed the bar area and the bar staff.

I enjoyed the free drink chip, and location. Our sink was broken, water would not drain. The toilet would not flush and took several tries to get it down. The last inconvenience is the door wouldn't latch securely so we put a chair up against for safety just incase. Update overall is very needed.

It's very disconcerting riding up to the 7th floor. Also, they should consider new carpet, they chose a solid teal color that shows all of the stains in this fairly new property. Felt dingy.

Overall, Moxy is a playful, energetic, and comfortable place to stay, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a hotel that’s fun, stylish, and full of personality!

Clean room, dog friendly, ocean front with balcony, great staff. I like a hot shower water was warm not hot. 2nd floor was super noisey. Not a problem for me but my wife is a light sleeper. Short stay, overall no major problems. Cool hip designed rooms. Reminds me of Pod hotels or microstyle. Rooms need a fridge.

*** Please note - this was a one off/1st bad experience. I notified the staff while checking out in the AM. Arrived & Checked in late. Got to my room - Noticed my curtains were pulled off the track.... *Worse Part* when using the sink/bathroom in the morning- while running the sink began to notice an odor of "vomit" sink began to not drain and stunk smell grew worse. Stopped watter immediately- there was vomit stuck in the sink/drain. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS- as I always stay here and enjoy me. Unfortunately makes me question future stays - as of proper cleaning procedures etc & how this was missed.... notified staff and only received a thank you for the notification and they seemed upset, imagine how the guest felt. ***

Loved our room, two queen beds. Plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs. Hotel was very clean. Staff was nice. The hotel uses a valet service and it was really fast and easy to get our truck. Food was within walking distance.

I loved my stay at the Moxy it was a whole vibe, I loved the decor, the friendliness of the staff and the convenience to the oceanfront. This is my type of hotel. My only regret is that I did not slide down the slide located in the lobby, but I will next time I stay.

As long as you understand that you don’t get a closet and it’s very minimalist it’s an awesome property. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again!!

Best - very dog friendly at one of the lower fees along the whole boardwalk and EV charging.

The bunk bed room seemed small but was a great use of space. Each person had a huge bunk to relax on, but no sitting area which was fine for us. The spacious and beautiful sitting and entertainment areas in the lobby were great for that. Typical oceanfront private balcony with a nice view of the beach. Not a lot of storage space in the room except a few drawers under the bunks. Tiny fridge. No blackout curtains but the light from the boardwalk wasn't terrible. Nowhere to eat if you prefer meals in your room. The bathroom was interesting, beautiful glass door shower but a frosted glass sliding door into the bathroom that was a little off putting for some family members. You could keep the light off for more privacy.

I reached out regarding a cancellation due to an injury that kept me from traveling and never heard anything back.

I was also not happy with my room location. It was not "oceanfront " at all but had a parking lot and a couple of roads as my view. It also had a small body of water that I could see. Needless to say, I didn't get any rest because lots of people use the roads to ride very loud motorcycles, trucks, etc. If I had known that, I would never have booked there. Lastly, the carpeting in the hallway on my floor was disgracefully dirty. It smelled awful. I almost turned around to go to another hotel. I was disappointed with all of the dogs everywhere and didn't feel comfortable laying on the bed. I did enjoy the bar/games area and was able to have a little fun there. Overall, cute concept hotel, but not for most people, in my opinion.

Everything was perfect everything was clean but i did see 1 roach an i was shocked other than that oh and the parking situation sucks valet or overnight parking available only its $11 a day for valet ... $23 for 8hrs and $33 for 24hrs in the other parking lot

Didn’t realize this is apparently well known as a young person’s venue :). Nonetheless, it grew on me, mainly due to my ocean-front, boardwalk-front room. Very close to the pier, everything in walking distance, several close- by bike rentals, nice on-site small breakfast & lunch diner. Didn’t seem to be daily room service, & twice I had to find a staff member to get another roll of TP. Room needs more than just the one trashcan that was in the bathroom. Awkward that the sink is OUTSIDE the bathroom. Staff was nice, although a couple times I did get conflicting info. Nice enough place, pet-friendly, can bring your own bike/scooter, and there actually WERE a FEW older couples! :). Oh, & Car area for check- in too small & awkward :)

The moxy was amazing and different my entire family loved the slide. The valet parking is so convenient and necessary. The atmosphere is very friendly even the guests. Recommend! The view is AMAZING! Will be back

It was an ok place, pool was dirty, my room was never cleaned. It was also 78 degrees in my room.

First they canceled our room to a smaller room without accommodation because of an leak issue, then the room they gave us was full of bugs everywhere so we had to move rooms and then that room had the sink disconnected from the wall and the toilet would barely flush. We’ve stayed here before and it was awesome. Such a shame to see how much they’ve declined in a short amount of time. Hopefully they bounce back but won’t be staying there anymore

The stay overall was great, but this wasn’t an ideal fit for my family. I’m sure others would enjoy the experience, but as a new mom I need the general conveniences that come with most 4-Star or better hotels. Think room service, concierge, room turn-down, crib/pack-n-play, etc. In all fairness, I’m sure we aren’t their target audience! This would be a fun place for a bachelor/bachelorette party, spring breakers, and crowds like that. For what it was worth, everyone was cool, the views were beautiful, and the drinks were excellent!

The hotel was in a great location. It lacked several amenities and was short-staffed. They usually only had one person working the front desk. The valet parking in the lot across the street made no sense. The pool towels were like large wash cloths.

Uniquely designed rooms with minimalist flare. Excellent location at the southern end of Virginia Beach. Ocean view room was breathtaking. Dog-friendly hotel, but make sure you aren't charged for one if you don't bring one.

All of the amenities are amazing. The two of us had a blast, overall. Expect dark and gloomy hallways, and very small rooms. Also note, there is no microwave or refrigerator in the room. However, they do have accommodations in the lobby for everyone to use!

I wanted to take out breakfast but was told I couldn’t be seated, had to wait for it at the door; horrible experience for a 20yr veteran.

The Diner was abismal. Negating the ice water dropped in my friends lap, the bacon was charred beyond recognition and when asked for a replacement, they brought more burnt bacon. Even worse, the place was closed for THREE MONTHS and they served the food anyway. My French toast was moldy and the “chef” said it was char. The “toast” was tan. The waitress agreed it was mold. There are 100+ hotels on the boardwalk and surrounding area, literally pick anything else. So cute yall charge $3.00 for a bowl of cereal and another $5 for a small thing of milk. It’s my own fault for staying somewhere contracted to support ICE. Had I know ANY of this I’d never have booked a MARRIOT.

A different concept for a hotel.

Front desk needs more training- the only problem was they seemed to be paying more attention to the lobby music and not understanding how to accurately use check in system codes. In error, the guy charged me a pet fee & we had no pets. Also, it took him a while to realize I booked through Expedia- which extended our wait time but the more proficient guy jumped in handled it- they just need training but overall excellent service-pleased with Moxey and will return

Smallest room in the history of the world! We were a family of 6 with absolutely no where to keep our luggage. We had to sleep with our luggage!

Air condenser in ceiling was leaking from ceiling on to electrical cords. Lights didn’t work in areas of the room. Just not a Marriott hotel!!

I think we should have been warned that the loud music in the lobby would go until 11pm. We would have requested a room a few more floors up rather than directly above the lobby on the second floor.

While I encountered a few friendly staff members, most of the staff seemed disengaged. There was little to no effort to maintain common areas or check in with guests, which made the hotel feel more like a college hangout than a professional, well-managed property. I appreciate the vibe the hotel is aiming for, but the execution falls short. For the price I paid, the experience was disappointing and not worth the cost—honestly, it should have been half the price. Marriott should seriously reconsider putting its name on this hotel.

Nice place, wish there were a fridge in the room but the room itself was nice and clean. The cleaning ladies were very sweet and kind and did a great job. The staff at the check in were nice too.

Valet parking is offered for $11, which is a practical option given the lack of available street parking in the area. My initial positive impression began to shift as I proceeded further into the hotel. Despite the "reception" sign, the check-in area being a bar felt a bit off. My concern grew when I inquired about the restaurant hours, only to be informed it would be temporarily closed for the next two to three days. As I walked towards my room, I noticed a sign from the health department condemning the pool. This immediately led me to suspect that the restaurant's closure was also due to health department intervention. The condition of the hotel further deteriorated upon reaching my room. The rug on the floor in the hallway was absolutely filthy. Inside the bedroom, I discovered a significant design flaw for travelers: there are no dressers or closets. The style is very minimalist, reminiscent of "IKEA meets your front door," making it unsuitable for anyone needing to hang clothes or utilize drawer space. The shower floor in my room was also quite gross, resembling a dirty locker room. (I have pictures to support these observations for reference.

No hot water on some days. Pool was never operational. Music in main lobby was way too loud. Valet drivers were all very nice and professional.

Great last minute stay. They were so friendly, accommodating, and the place was great. We had our doggie with us, she loved hanging on the balcony looking at the beach. We could walk right out to the beach, the showers were right there and the volley ball as well. The bar was amazing! Best martini!!! Our teenage son had an amazing time riding his bike to all of the shops that were so close by. Ice cream right across the street, amazing coffee less than a block away.

The Moxy was unique, fun and very affordable

The restaurant is not open. The bar is convenient but the bartenders are not very pleasant even for a simple exchange. The halls and carpets in the halls need a makeover. The halls are dark and the carpet is dirty. The room was great! We had a king with partial ocean view. It was lovely.

This property is overall nice, the boardwalk and ocean are beautiful. The operational situation is terrible. They advertised having a restaurant, which they do not. This was a big deal for us because my 80 year old mother is handicapped. There is no bell service and very few luggage carriers, we couldn’t find one. The handicapped room was not ADA compliant in my opinion. One grab bar in the shower- none by the toilet or anywhere else. I was told that because we have this ADA room we got no in room coffee pot or microwave. The drink coupons they gave us only allowed for Chardonnay or Riesling wine, even if I tried to use 2…. For $400 per night, the view and board walk are what we paid for- the room was weird, the beds were end to end.

Amazing vibes and great service

I personally loved this hotel in every aspect. The parking is no issue at all. They do charge you but they bring and take your car no issue at all. The service was amazing quickly got us to our room even when we arrived early. I would 100% stay again.

What a great vibe! We enjoyed the nightly entertainment, especially the music bingo on Wednesday night. The restaurant was closed during our stay for some reason. The room was great!

Cool place to stay! They have 4 pinball machines in the lobby but make sure you bring your own quarters if you want to play because the front desk/bar didnt have any.

They didn’t have bellhops but provided 2 luggage carts. One of the two’s had very low tire pressure and was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to push or pull. We were informed that the in house restaurant (The Belvedere) was abruptly closed due to TECHINICAL” difficulties. Yes, they couldn’t spell “TECHNICAL” correctly! What a joke. The bathrooms had a toilet and the shower. In the little hallway outside the room door and shower door, was the little basin. Very inconvenient to keep bumping into your spouse. We reported water dripping from the ceiling outside both our room and the room we occupied next door, TWICE! It was leaking when we arrived, 2 days later, it was still dripping. The carpet was soaked and had a moldy smell. What a joke. They did have valets to park your vehicle across the street for $11.00 a day! The valets didn’t even help unloading/loading your vehicle. I would NEVET stay at a MOXY hotel again. If you decide to stay at a Moxy hotel be forewarned!

Property is very tired. No food was available due to electric being out in the bar. The water dispenser was broken, the coffee shop was closed for similar reasons. The shower in our room was leaking so much water was coming up from under the floor after a shower. We were on the 2nd floor and it was very noisy at night. Saw multiple leaks in ceilings. There needs a serious refurbishment. Staff were great though and room was very clean, bed comfortable if rather basic.

IN addition, our teenagers really loved the vibe of the hotel including the look and feel and game options of the lobby. great location and the dorm-style 4 queen beds were roomy while the layout of the rooms were smart with hooks and other features to maximize the use of the space. I can't even remember the last time I reviewed a hotel, but it we stayed for our daughters 16th birthday, and no hotel has EVER done more to accommodate an event. They decorated the rooms, wrote happy birthday on the mirrors, had a gift, and called ahead to find out what they could do. 5 stars isn't enough stars.

I was super impressed with this hotel. It was so unique. The staff was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

My stay was peaceful and the staff took very good care of me and any issues that I had. They were on top of it immediately. Great location and will recommend.

I’m not going to lie, upon check in it was super frustrating. I told them when I came in that I wanted to check in early, put me on a waitlist, took my ID and card to put on file. I said I’d like to pay half and half. (Cash and card) they said that’s fine, but that I needed to have the full amount of money on my card and I can pay the other half in cash at check out. I don’t keep money on my card so I was 50 bucks short she told me the total was 350.70 so I had to drive all the way to Walmart, I put the money on my card and drove back to the hotel for them to tell me it’ll be a $40 extra charge for damages and I’d get the money back, I told her I only put enough money for the room because she said that’s all I needed, well nope, had to drive all the way back to Walmart to put that money on my card (at that point I put every dollar in cash on there so I wouldn’t have any more issues) got back to the moxy (at this point it’s been 2 hours maybe, it’s past original check in time) and everything is set and good to go, we were given poker chips for a complimentary drink, which is absolutely awesome. The vibe and view of the hotel is amazing. We got to our room and there was a view of a lake and the city, there was a swinging hammock that became my favorite part of this hotel other than the ginormous slide you see when you first come in! The rooms were cozy and cute and clean and tidy! Got proposed to on the beach outside Moxy!❤️ Bed, pillows comfy! Overall, ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!!❤️

When arrived, we couldn’t find the front desk because the light was not on, ask for maintenance in our restroom since the toilet was not flashing for days and we had to plunge it ourselves and they assured us somebody would go and looked at it while we were there nobody ever came. We said the sheets were staying can they please give us new sheets they didn’t they said yes but never put sheets until we checked out. Very disappointing. Worst experience.

Spent a day here to celebrate my bachelorette this was amazing experience one the valet service for cars was smooth staff was super nice and welcoming and the atmosphere of the hotel when you walk in is a fun experience with a bar as your check in and rooms were nice and unique and check to add this hotel as my go to celebrate or just to have a night out definitely will be coming back in the future

Its supposed to be.minimalist but its too extreme in that direction. No comfortable chair to sit in. Didnt advertise that it had no refrigerator or microwave or coffee machine. Staff were wonderful. But the hotel is cheaply made to look hip.

It was just ok. I was unprepared for the starkness of the place. The lobby was weirdly unwelcoming, chaotic and noisy. It was strange checking in at the bar. The receptionist explained a welcome feee cocktail but failed to describe exactly what it was. When I ordered and then presented it to the bartender, I was scolded that the chip did not apply to any cocktail. I was taken aback by her condescending behavior.

Recommended for a short gateway trip.

Close to boardwalk

Everything he was super nice and the property itself is great for anyone looking for modern, functional, incredibly dog friendly, and plenty to do at hotel in the evening.

We stayed at the Moxy during the Shamrock Marathon weekend. Everything from check-in to valet was a breeze! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If you’re accustomed to a room with couches/table/desk/mini fridge then this might not be the right accommodation for you as the rooms are kept in a minimalist style. The sink and vanity are also outside of the bathroom which serves as the main surface in the room. The lack of surfaces to put things on did get a little cumbersome at times and would have loved to have a mini fridge, but the goal of the Moxy is to have you out of your room to enjoy the property and surrounding area. Overall it was a great stay and we would stay again! Oh, make sure to grab breakfast at the Belvedere while you’re staying!

This was my first time to Virginia Beach, I arrived at midnight and left at 8 AM and my visit was in April (off-season). For all these reasons, I didn't see much of Virginia Beach, but I can say it was super quiet during my visit, which was great and the hotel is located on the beach right next to the pier (also great). I didn't know that Virginia Beach is a place for young people to party, but I could see this is the case by the types of establishments that populate the main strip. This particular hotel appears to be one that follows the "young people party", as it is loaded with gaming stuff in the lobby (they have the biggest foosball table I have ever seen), "check-in" is at the bar and they give you tokens for free alcoholic beverages. The rooms themselves are a cross between a prison cell and something more upscale. I know that sounds strange, but hear me out. The room is a concrete cube, there are no rugs and (I kid you not) there is no furniture of any kind in the room except a mattress on a platform. There is no suitcase rack to unpack your cloths, which turns out to be a good thing because there is no bureau to put your cloths away, no closet to hang your coat, no chair to sit on and no bedside table to put your personal items on. There is a patio, but the sliding door is locked and cannot be opened. The sink is attached to the wall in the bedroom (prison cell vibe), but the bathroom itself is nice and upscale. Overall, young people may like this hotel, but not me.

Had a great time at the Moxy on a one night roadtrip stop. The bar was great, loved the easy access to the boardwalk, the slide was a fun surprise and so was the Zoltar & pinball machines.
