    I believe the employee that check is in was Tanya! Super pleasant and very helpful. Only complaint is the bathroom was a little small. Had to shut the door to use the toilet. Other than that it was super clean. And location was great! Oh! And 1 complaint! We waited for an hour for housekeeping, they didn’t come. We had to leave and left the do not disturb on the door. When we returned the items we were waiting for were on the bed.

    The oceanfront The front desk person. So I booked a stay for 2 nights. But I needed a little extra time today for check out. So you can go on there website and request for a late check out which is 1:00 pm, an extra $15 the other is a la t e, late check out, which is 4:00pm for$55 dollars.. so i needed the late late check out. I messaged the property and it said when its approved they'll let me know. That was at 4:15 this morning. And at 11:00 it was still pending. So I went to the front desk. She said oh no you weren't approved. Well there's no where it says that.. she said and we're booked up anyway. Ok well that's not my problem, then you should keep your website updated. And I told her what times and how much money for each. She said we'll. Ive been here 13 yrs and ive never seen that.. we dont offer that you must have gone on Wyndham hotel there site. So basically she she's i dont know what im talking about. And I showed her it was there hotel. Then she apparently didnt want to admit she's an idiot, and knows nothing about the company she's been working nn g for for 13 yrs. Point being I didnt want to be right or wrong. Just respected. And there was none. I dont appreciate being treated like im dtuiped or talked to like im a problem telling you the issues im having with your hotel. We've stayed there before. For 40 days to be exact. And she was above the rudest, non communication just flat out disrespectful person ive ever seen there. So if you go there just becarful cause she'll talk to you like she knows everything

    The breakfast was good and employees were polite. The bathroom ceiling was leaking and water in ceiling receptacle. The beds needed new mattresses. No hairdryer. Dog poop on sidewalk. Sadly of all I have stayed at this one was the worst. Corporate needs to invest for improvements.

    I honestly have no complaints,except that I could not figure out where to hang my clothes. Everything else, excellent. Absolutely loved bringing my little dog. And breakfast?? Off the chain, except for just a little more fruit? Not an early eater, soo fruit is go to thing. Saw only small apples. No fruit at breakfast

    This is my second time staying. The staff is very friendly. The room I got was fantastic and fairly priced. I was super ecstatic to learn how spacious the bathroom was. I absolutely loved my room. I definitely would try to get that room again.

    There’s no room service until your third day there so asking for towels and washcloths was daily, which they seemed to not want to give. Great location but the overall hotel seemed run-down. During breakfast on my first day no one was monitoring the breakfast area on the second day, there was kitchen staff who had a woman following him and me everywhere we turned. Felt more like monitoring than helping or assisting. Very weird vibes here. Not the Laquita culture for sure. Hope they do better.

    How close it was to the beach.... The room did not smell to great, the amity was not full. Room trmp was hard to control. The breakfast was not very satisfying nor did you have a wide variety for chosen. The elevator was very slow and the buttons did not light up. There was broken doors and was unable to have access to the pool.

    Continental breakfast was terrible. They didn’t clean the tables after customers had breakfast. The rooms never got freshened up. The noise in the hallway sounds like it’s coming from the room. Toiletries were not up to par. The little bar of soap can’t barely cleanse one person. The room , the hallways are dark. There were dogs everywhere. We felt like we were at a doggy daycare. I’m allergic to dogs and I wish they had mentioned about that place loaded with dogs and them not cleaning the rooms everyday with all that dog hair everywhere that’s unacceptable.

    The staff was friendly, and the hallway smelled a bit. However, the room was nice. Unfortunately, the pool was closed, and the website didn’t mention it. The tub wasn’t draining properly, but the water eventually drained after a while. It’s only 2 blocks from the beach which was very nice.

    Front desk was not professional. Did not greet me, just say there and said nothing, I had to initiate. One clerk was making fun of other guests, question extra parking fee then she was making comments to other employee that this is a resort of course you are going to pay for parking. I don't recall it bench advertised as a resort and the condition of things is not my definition of resort. Tub drained very slowly. Back doors by pool broken, not sure if the pool could be used. Again, NOT a resort. No poo bags at any station you pay extra for dog fee this should be part of that.

    We stayed at this hotel for a one week celebrating our anniversary. Location is very good just a few minutes to the beach and boardwalk and grocery store. Front desk Destiny was nice, friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping staff were nice, any time you can change towels, linens, get extra coffee packets, etc. Breakfast was included, it was very handy. Unfortunately the items were very limited, but the good thing was - coffee was all day long and vending machine has lots of varieties. Price was right. I will recommend this hotel.

    I didn't eat breakfast. The attendant was very kind and helpful. He made sure I had everything I needed and treated me with respect and dignity. He treated me just as important and valuable as the other guest. The room was great although it already had some issues regarding the paint on the wall and headboards chipping. There was paint chips missing from the doors and showers. In addition there was too much adhesive on the seams of the showers and drains. There was also a little stain on the couch.

    We checked in and I told them my husband was coming later and they said that was fine and I paid the fees. When he there, they made us move his car at 2 am to a 24hr lot saying they could not give two passes to one room (not during peak season or it being crowded and we offered to pay) they said no and made us move so we did and paid 90 at a parking deck and at the hotel with me having to go get him from the lot at 2am because they refused to sell us a parking pass

    The employee at front desk charged me $8 cash for parking. When we left and came back there was no parking, so I went inside and ask could the cones be moved so I can park on the lot since I paid for parking. The night shift employee looked at me like I had 2 heads and asked who charged me for parking. Come to find out he was supposed to charge me, my room carpet smelled like feet, and I was next to a room where the people had a dog that barked all night and morning.

    Didn't eat breakfast because we had to get on the road. We expected breakfast hours to be earlier. Like pet friendly Arrived at 3:30; PM. Had to wait in the lobby for almost an hour because our rooms were not ready. Desk attendant offered no accommodation.

    Having a broken one cup Kerig for anything above 200+ people staying there is insane. Like insane! Go back to a coffee pot. The broken kerig took twice as long to brew one cupthat it would to brew a full pot!

    The continental breakfast was horrible. A small sign on the wall wasn't noticed until you stood waiting for your waffle to cook and happened to look up. The sign advised no sausage or bacon (to go with the eggs) and no syrup for the waffles! I would have thought there was a petty cash account to handles issues like this, especially when there's a full grocery store across the street! One guest left to buy some for everyone else to use. The area to get your food was not kept clean. What food was there didn't look fresh or inviting.

    The location of this property was the saving grace for our stay - only a block away from the beach, grocery store right behind the property, a walkable to many activities. Having breakfast in the lobby was nice, even with the limited options. There were a lot of little issues. The one elevator had damages along the bottom walls, a broken locked door that clicked as you went up and down, and the lights weren't working so we never knew which floor we were passing. As for the room itself, the drawers to the dresser were visibly broken, there was water damage in the cutout where the mini fridge was located, the mini fridge itself had cracked shelving. The shower did not drain properly, and when booking I was unaware that the pool was not yet open, a minor inconvenience. The free WiFi is non existent. We had plenty of activities during the day but I had to repeatedly turn off my WiFi to look up local area attraction opening times. Again, a minor inconvenience but adds to why we wouldn’t stay at this location again.

    Areas were average, some seemed to need more care as not new. Staff is friendly. You need to call for room cleaning otherwise they won’t come to make your bed/clean. They did not say anything at check in.

    The parking lot had a fence. It was kind of close to the race finish line. There wasn't much we liked about the hotel or the facilities. For the price the accommodation were seriously lacking. I wont be staying there again. there was black mold in the shower and soap scum through out the shower and bathroom. There was rust on the light fixtures. My wife refused to use the shower in the morning. I was in town for the marathon and the staff refused to accommodate a late check out. I spoke to other guests and they said they were able to check out after the race was over. The bed was lumpy the towels were grey. there was black mold on the wall near the AC unit and a horrible smell was coming from it.

    After our second day we called the front desk asking why our room wasn’t cleaned. We were surprised to find out that we needed to request our room cleaned. We were in Virginia Beach for the marathon. Our garbage container was overflowing. Front desk said someone would clean the room and they never did. Poor communications and customer service.

    Good location The TV only had cable. They had the Netflix app but you weren’t able to connect to it. Also, they had the feature to connect your phone to the TV but only YouTube worked and every five seconds it had to load the next few seconds on the show.

    Great stay for a youth sports event weekend. The hotel was clean, in a good location and cost effective. Staff were pleasant when I interacted with them and breakfast hit the spot each morning. I’ll definitely stay here again if in the area.

    This property has the potential to be great. It is in a good location for an off-strip hotel. Convenient and in walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the ocean front. The lobby is nice and there is a breakfast and sitting area. The elevators are not convenient to the lobby and they are slow and there was only one, also used by cleaning staff making the wait longer. The room smelled like heavy nicotine/smoke. The hotel claimed to have smoke monitors in the rooms but I didn't have confidence in that statement, which they were sure to include in check-in documents. Other than that the room was clean and had a nice view of Pacific Avenue hotels and businesses. I would consider another stay here but I would not expect to encounter the heavy nicotine smell in the room. The desk staff could also use some attention to detail when dealing with customers; they were not rude but they missed the mark for a high quality first interaction. A nice lounge with beverages and small plates would also be a nice addition to the first floor space at the further end of the hotel. Other than that this hotel has high potential. I would also be more than happy to talk to management staff about my experience and review.

    Needs updates. Staff was nice but the beds, pillows, and elevators need to be upgraded. You shouldn’t get in the elevator and hope it is going to work appropriately. Also the room keys need to be upgraded or be newer.

    Very smooth process with checking in, especially with having a service animal! Staff on each shift were all very friendly, polite, & helpful whenever we needed anything! That says a lot, as I am a local here, and needed a place to stay due to the storm. Definitely recommend for all SA, ESA, & regular pet owners!

    The front desk staff were all friendly, the room was clean, and the location was great. My issue was with a specific male staff member who entered my room unannounced. This was a girls weekend trip with my 2 grade school daughters and it left us feeling very uncomfortable for the rest of the stay. I understand everyone makes mistakes, I just wish he would have knocked before swiping his card and entering.

    Wouldn’t come back here. Hall smell like a dog pound,(they are pet friendly)however there should be a section or floor for people with pets. There are people that are allergic to cats and dogs. Also the slamming of doors throughout the night was ridiculous. I also recommended a family member to stay there and they left after the first night, cause they encountered roaches. If I would have seen any I would have done the same. Management will definitely need to get a handle on these matters sooner than later. 👎

    If I could give zero stars, I would. The place was so filthy that we couldn't stay there. There was dirt and mouse or rat droppings on the sheets. We told the person at the front desk who said he would come to the room in a couple of minutes. I had to walk to the front desk to let him know what was going on because the phone in the room wasn't functioning. He never arrived. Instead, he later called on my cell phone to let us know that clean sheets were available for pickup at the front desk. In other words, we would have to change them ourselves! No effort was made to move us to a different room. We decided to leave the property and stay at another hotel. I called Travelocity and Quality in customer service to report this and ask for assistance with getting a refund. They both said that the manager would have to agree to a refund. He refused.

    My room was clean and everyone from the front desk to back of house had a smile as their greatest accessory. The hotel itsself was a nightmare. As soon as we entered to check in, a very potent and distinct smell or Marijuana lingered over the lobby. We disregarded this at first provided it may have been aftermath from another guest. But this was the start of the stink journey. As we walk through the hallway and make our way to the elevator, we were smacked with an overwhelming sewage odor. Luckily this did not effect our floor (3). However, someone must have ignored the many signs stating the rooms are "smoke free" because I practically developed black lung with how much it smelled like tobacco in our room. The staff did a great job having the sewage cleaned up quickly. They were kind and accommodating by assisting with our room when the key did not initially work. A front desk worker (I unfortunately do not recall her name) was extremely pleasant my entire stay and escorted us to the room to ensure the keys were working properly. So, biggest plus: dog friendly, decent breakfast for the price and helpful staff Negative: pretty much everything else

    The staff there was a front desk attendant Malinda who was very condescending and rude to me. I didn’t know about their policy about no cash app cards because every other hotel stay has taken them. She acted as if I was dumb. When I came back up after moving money back to my debit card I went to another desk attendant to get better service and she stood next to him whispering to him. I did ask as to why she was there and she said because she originally had me-I stated to her that she was rude to me and so I came with someone else. Monty started off pleasant and as soon as she whispered to him he became VERY rude. The GM SAT there at the third computer and listened to the exchange. I had a friend who was checking in with me but for another room who used a PAYPAL card and was given her keys with no problem. MONTY stated to me that PAY PAL was not to be used for this transaction. On the day of checkout Malinda was there-I work overnight and when I came in at 6am my room key was turned off. My key sat in my car with no electronics in a cup holder while I worked. She stated to me don’t you checkout today and I said but it’s 6am I don’t checkout until 11am. She reluctantly turned my key back on. The rooms were clean and everything was good besides a shower curtain but the room attendant fixed it very quickly.They were very nice and respectful maybe the housekeeping needs to be front desk. There was also a lady there named Tonya who was wonderful. Malinda and Monty are horrible.

    I was disappointed that the only water dispensers were in the workout area and breakfast area. The ice machine did not include a water dispenser. Water bottles were not available for sale. Also some breakfast options were unavailable an hour prior to end time. Tea bags were also limited and unavailable outside of breakfast time. English and Caribbean peoples enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon and often before bedtime. On the plus side the hotel is less than 5 minutes walking to the boardwalk/beach/shopping and restaurants. and the parking lot is,large.

    My dad stayed and said he was offered to stay in a room initially and wait while the maintenance person took their break as required because the bath tub nozzle came off and cold water was shooting out of the wall. He did have to ask to be moved to another room but had no issues with the second room.

    Pleasantly surprised! Front desk & checkin was great. Room was nice, clean, roomy with a recliner chair, micro & fridge. Bed was comfy, bedding fresh & clean, bath towels were good quality, bathroom was clean. Only complaint was the tiny bathroom, but countertop was roomy & shower was a step-in. Just difficult to close the door due to proximity of the toilet. A "pocket" door would have been a better option...parking was also a great perk...plenty of parking & short walk to boardwalk. We could even see a bit of ovean from our room...Again, pleasantly surprised!

    Overall our experience was good. We were somewhat disappointed that our room windows were not clean for a view outside and chagrinned that the coffee cups provided at breakfast leaked before I could get them back to the room.     After driving 14 hours, we just needed a place to sleep. The smell in this hotel room was gross. It smelled like a mix of cat pee and mold. And the bar next door played club style music until 2am. Do not recommend. Spend the extra $50 for a nicer hotel.

    Our room was pretty filthy, dusty, and needs some serious cleaning. The pool was closed which was something we chose to stay there for only to find out it was closed. The other guest were pretty noisy during the night. Our bathroom needed recaulked and there’s a parent dirt and an extremely cheap shower curtain. Our television barely worked, bedside table lamp outlet didn’t work, and the refrigerator made noise all night. Staff was friendly though and the bed was actually comfortable.

    The La Quinta Property is very convenient to the ocean front and other shops and dining. Easily accessible. Paying for parking is questionable. Should be able to provide license plate info and given a pass. Anyone without a pass can be ticketed or towed. Elevator needs some maintenance and needs to be cleaned. Slow and smelly.

    Pool was closed with no prior notice. Parking fees are hidden and not transparent, and the spots are too tight. Breakfast options were spotty or not replaced when empty. Bed sheets had blood stains, furniture was broken, ice machines didn't work on most floors. Elevators floor display panels not operational, they did not stop on every floor, panels inside the elevators were loose, elevators dropped about an inch after entering. Faucets sprayed water everywhere when turned on.

    My day was canceled as soon as I got there to check in. I travel seven hours with my family and a seven month old baby. We were extremely tired and weren’t able to check in with my booking.     It was clean will stay again because I can bring my dog and the price is decent being so close to the beach. I did see blonde hair on the door. The shower was decent. They needed to mop the floor more from the pool. It was always wet and slippery. They could use some new mattress on the bed.

    I was nervous about possible disappointment after reading several previous reviews but honestly sounds like a completely different hotel than the one I experienced. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to myself and my two dogs. We got a room on the ground level floor at the end of the hall for quicker exit/enter since I have dogs and it was a huge suite, definitely was not expecting that! Just based on previous reviews, I checked the sheets and floors for cleanliness and everything looked great. There is a very small square “grass” patch in front of the hotel with a dog disposal trash can and poop bags. However this section is extremely small, barely has any actual grass growing, and was filthy littered with trash, making it unsafe for my dogs as they could step on something or put something in their mouths. That is my only big concern and complaint. As a dog friendly hotel, I would like to see some clean up and a larger section for dogs to relieve themselves. Otherwise, all else was good and it was a very nice stay.

    Room was dirty second room I went to was dirty as well. Front staff a gentlemen whose names starts with a M was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and violated my privacy rights when it came to me having a service dog. I had to pay money to go to another hotel that was great from service to cleanliness. Melinda was nice she helped me the following morning when I went to speak with a manager who was not in as of yet. Property doesn’t have a manager in site a night which I felt was odd I have never been to a property who does have.a manger on site at night. I would NEVER stay or recommend this place to anyone. I am still waiting on my refund.

    It was a nice hotel. A little disappointed when I went to take a shower and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were completely empty. Also had to deal with a bathroom door that kept getting stuck the while time we were there. The pool was nice and never really crowded. Loved that it was a block away from the beach.

    The parking charge was a surprise on arrival. We stayed here last year and there was no charge for parking. The property was clean. However, the bathroom felt like it wasn’t planned very well. The door wouldn’t open all the way hitting the toilet and making it incredibly inconvenient and frustrating to use. Otherwise the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was full every morning and well maintained.

    The property is very close to the beach however the hotel needs a lot of work. The elevators seemed in need of numerous repairs and felt unsafe. We checked in at 4p but were placed in a handicap accessible room that we did not ask for. The bathroom sink faucet was missed a cap which caused water to squirt out all over the countertop. My husband had to brush his teeth daily using the bathtub. There were no bath towels in our room when we checked in so we went to the front desk to request 4. They gave us 2 bath towels and 2 very small/short towels. The toilet did not flush appropriately. We had to flush it 2-4x to get waste and toilet paper to go down. The tv had numerous black lines down the screen and would time out after a few hours of viewing. The bed was not comfortable at all (very hard) and the bed pillows were just as bad. We overheard other guests complaining about the hotels accommodations as well. If you can afford to, spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else.

    We arrived at 7:30 to a line of people trying to check in but was told there were no rooms cleaned or ready and to come back in 45min-1hr to check in. Once we got a room it smelled heavily of cleaning products and there was only 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel. There was also mold on the bottom of the shower curtain and the microwave was missing the plate that spins.

    Recommended more options for breakfast. For some reason the the access door cards didn't work properly (time use and then going back and forth to the front desk to get another one every time we went out.     Pros: very close to the beach, easy check in, friendly staff, ample parking (charge of $15/day), nice clean room, cold air conditioning, comfortable bed and plenty of pillows, good water pressure (having thick hair, I appreciate this more than the average person lol), the fridge in our room was super cold, the pool was on the smaller side but in the sun most of the day. Cons: Only one (of two) elevator worked during our four day stay Breakfast: pretty sub-par. The same fake sausage patties and microwaved scrambled "eggs"all four days we were there. It appeared they had one person taking care of breakfast and he couldn't keep things stocked and cleaned. Also, not enough seating for everyone. Pets: so many irresponsible pet owners bringing their pets into the breakfast area (clearly marked NO PETS), leaving them to bark in their rooms all day, letting them jump on people. Donuts all a favor (yourself included) and leave them at home. Housekeeping: the language barrier was quite frustrating when we needed something. Ice machines: there are 7 floors and only 2 (maybe 3) floors had working machines All in all....it was a decent stay but if we come back to the area, we will probably consider another hotel

    My only dislike was my room key had issues to the point whenever i came back to my room management had to let mein, but this was not their fault and theres was no way anyone couldve thought this would happen. Management was on top on it every step of the way. I commend them for being so professional. Location was great, beds were perfect, overall this place was perfect. Things happen in life that aren't anyones fault. It would not help to get mad and agitated just deaĺ with it and move forward, that what management and i agreed to do. THEY WERE AWESOME...

    The location and overall condition of the hotel was very satisfactory. The only issue I had pertained to the bathroom in my hotel room. The overhead light was out and there was no vent for the steam from the shower. There was also signs of mold on the ceiling.

    The breakfast options were very limited it was sausage waffles and bagels and 2 choices of cereal! Tonya the manager there is great and very friend but their merchant put a $2000 hold on my bank account and screwed the first few days of my trip up there but Tonya made everything right and helped me get to the bottom of it! It had seemed like everyday the hotel itself was out of towels to shower with and the bathtubs and sinks didn’t really drain the water so you always had standing water! Also the ac units don’t work all that great here either especially on the days when it was over 100 degrees

    Didn't like: had to ask for housekeeping like 3 times and at first they said i wasn't on the list fir it. But then they were able to find it where someone placed it in a drawer and know seen it. Then they never showed up till like around 6pm. And plus after paying to stay there had to pay for parking. On line it says free parking for guest. But actually its free if you are a senior or a veteran. Then in the hallway there were a big black bug crawling on the carpet. And my door to my room was hard to open. But from all of that it was a nice stay.

    I would not recommend this hotel. It was very noisy, plus noisy bar with loud music late at night. After a 3 night stay you need to call front desk for room service/cleaning. Bathtub in one of our rooms was almost sunken in. Pillows were yellow and nasty. I would suggest spending a few more dollars for newer hotel closer to the beach.

    Our arrival at the room was unfortunately met with a few unpleasant surprises. We found blood on the bedroom door and a shower curtain covered in excessive mold. Although the staff was responsive and took care of cleaning the blood and replacing the curtain, we continued to face an issue with the shower drain, which was clogged and caused water to back up every time we showered.

    They charged my credit card 3 times, once for $400, $416, and $416, totaling $1236. Some of the staff were great, to include cleaning services. Front desk and phone receptionist were unreasonable and rude. I arrived at the hotel to hear multiple guest complaining to each other and overheard one couple on the phone filing complaints to the hotels corporate office. I asked for nothing special during my stay and was a very easy going customer. No one except me stayed in the room as I was traveling to pick up a family member and was stopping to rest and relax before continuing my travels. They fraudulent charged my card, accused me of using a tobacco product in their room (I did not and do not use tobacco) without actually identify the product they accused me of. They then accused me of yelling, I was on the phone in front of my son, never raised my voice and simply asked how they are accusing me of using a tobacco product of some kind all while asking and questioning what product I potentially used. The hotel elevator functioned dangerously, not displaying the floor level inside the elevator due to the display not functioning, the elevator itself moving in the very slow and unsteady pace, the doors opening slowly and even at time needing assistance to fully open. Great location at a nice beach. Awful hotel. Needs to address a lot. I’d prefer to spend more at the Marriott or less at the motel. Garage la Quinta and needs improvements.

    When it came to getting the room cleaned, several different things were stated. In the bathroom, there was a sticker saying rooms would be cleaned every 3 days, when making the reservation it said every 2 days, and when checking in was told that cleaning would only happen if staying over 3 days and you had to call 24 hours in advanced due to limited housekeeping. I do find that to be ridiculous and any stay over 3 days be automatically cleaned. This is a dog friendly hotel, which l don’t mind. However, some people’s dogs were barking all day well into the evening and every time a hotel room door closed. We were there for dance nationals and so rest was harder to get due to these dogs not as well trained. Lastly, the tv only worked for the live tv and the google, Netflix, and slingtv functions were unavailable. Overall, the stay was alright but I won’t stay here in the future.

It was 2 blocks from the beach, there was a Harris Teeter directly behind the inn, plenty of restaurants within walking distance and they were very pet friendly!! They even had poop bags available in multiple locations around the premises.

    Ice machine only worked on one floor, elevator numbers don’t always show up when moving up floors, WiFi is horrible. hotel smells like marijuana. Especially in the stairwells. You walk out and your clothes smell like it. Walls are paper thin, could hear a horrible domestic dispute that scared up the first night here. most of the breakfast stuff was completely out. The kitchen staff said they didn’t have butter, syrup, cream cheese two days, plates one day, he also had a hard time re stocking food so most days we didn’t even get food.staff seemed very stretched thin they need more support and help seemed like they are bare bones with staff. Trash was everywhere not very clean hotel. Pool area was filthy. Towels everywhere and not replenished. They need to make the extra fees more upfront not in small print $15 per day parking(which should be added into the fee for guest) $25 per day pet fee. Also no room service is available unless you requested it and even getting that help takes hours. (I give them grace for this because as I mentioned they clearly are under staffed and stretched thin) and Check in took almost an hour despite me doing pre check in (with uploading id and all) there was one guy up front but another person sitting in the side room upfront that did not come out and help him when he had long lines. When we needed the front desk you wait in line for a good 30 Minutes for help (non check in related). Staff were very friendly despite the quality of hotel.

    The first time we stayed at this hotel it was probably the nicest, most updated and modern, cleanest hotel I’ve ever seen. This time? The stairwells and hallways smelled of weed every single day. The hotel is getting rundown. There was build up dust in the room and mold and mildew in the shower. The toilet would barely flush. The tv was messed up. The walls are patched and furniture worn down. The plugs won’t hold a charger and half the plugs don’t work. We also had ants in our room. And the hotel had the nerve to charge me for smoking in the room. I don’t smoke nor vape. I have $800+ in smoking dees that they refuse to refund. I had to report fraud to my bank so they’ll go after the hotel for me. The elevators have seen much better days and the doors on them stick. All the light poles out front the line the area before the front doors were either knocked down, broken, or had wires hanging out of them. There was constantly trash all over the parking lot. 99.99% chance I will never stay here again. And can’t forget to mention the absurdity of charging $15 per day for parking, as a guest…

    The place was fine, and close to the beach without being on top of it, so affordable. A few minor things add up to make it not as pleasant as it could be...the place is pet friendly, which is fine, but there was a pee puddle in the stairway for my entire two-day stay that I watched slowly evaporate and stain. I told the front desk and they said they'd get right on it.....nothing. There was a kid sweeping the steps and I thought, good, now they will get it....nope. Breakfast is fine, but it's over at 9 which is way too early for people on vacation. TV remote worked once about every eight times you hit the button....these things happen, but very tedious....ended up leaving the TV on all the time.

    I was extremely bothered by the constant barking limited wash cloths, constant wet floor in the bathroom, wet floor in the sleeping area, poor use of the remote, poor air quality, broken ice machine and no indoor pool. What I did like was the close proximity of the hotel to the board walk and the manager Ranisha was extremely kind and helpful when concerns were presented.

    Not a good stay. When we arrived the room we were assigned to already had another guest we walked in on. The new room assigned to us did not have a shower curtain and the sheets were dirty. We finally got a shower curtain the second afternoon. That second night someone was able to unlock our door and try to come inside at 1 am. When we talked to the front desk they still hadn’t changed our name to the assigned room. Our key cards never worked when we got back to the hotel. The last night when we finally were upset after being lenient and complained the worker at the front desk was a bit rude. I hate to write such a bad review but this has to have been one of the worst stays at a hotel I’ve had to experience.

    Staff was friendly and positive, but the place is a bit basic. Only three floors had working ice makers and only one of the two elevators worked. The bathroom door in my room hit the toilet, making entrance and egress from the bathroom difficult. Towels were fine, water pressure was good, room was clean. Bit, we had to turn the AC up higher than desired to offset the moist feeling in the room. I slept in my jacket because I didn’t think to bring a sweatshirt in June. There were six pillows for two beds, which was nice. But the pillows were rather thin. Room had a desk and office chair, extra upholstered chair, and an iron. It was fine for the overnight stay before visiting family, but I wouldn’t do more than a night there. Kids slept well but my 50yo body needed a bit more comfort.

    Breakfast was good and had a decent selection. Location was convenient to many restaurants, shops, and beach all in walking distance. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff was not friendly. If asking them a question and they didn't understand English, they would just stare at you and not respond. Well after midnight each night we were woken up by others being extremely loud and pounding on walls but nothing was done.

    The staff was lovely. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and had a good attitude. The rooms were actually pretty nice, but the smell of the hotel was awful. The hallways were pungent. The smell was not as bad in lobby and our room but there was still an odor. With a few updates and a deep cleaning, this hotel has the potential to be great!

    We left a day early. Unfortunately we could not get a baby crib as advertised. Our bathroom door was broken and the sink didn’t work, and the smell was horrible from the sink. The floor we were staying at was very very noisy with teenagers running and yelling in the hallway. It was a very uncomfortable stay.

    The shower faucet had orange water come out when first turned on. Very disgusting. First floor well lit, but second floor had very dim lighting and did not have a pleasant smell. The hotel room did not have a pleasant smell. Hair was all over the floor. The breakfast station and the eating area was messy and not well kept. Worker was not diligent about cleaning and keeping order.

    The elevators only on 1 end of the hotel was inconvenient, especially with ill manored dogs getting on. But there were some doggie bag stations that had baggies for pick up , so that was good. Im wondering if you need a breed restriction. Had a few issues with a lunging unneutered pitbull and a german Shepard dog that was growling at everyone. I saw people not get on the elevator due to these dogs behaviors.

    The bed sheets had a bunch of dark hairs on them when we arrived. There was also a large yellow stain on the sheet, along with a large yellow stain on 1/2 of our towels that we received. Housekeeping also never came to change our sheets or towels, even though we stayed for four nights. The carpet was moist and the room smelled musty. The hallway smelled like weed as well. It also stunk to have to pay an extra 60$ for parking throughout the week.

    The beds were horrible some of the outlets didnt work the toliet leaked and it was very loud with talking and yelling in the middle of the night.     Our experience was marred by a long wait at check-in due to only one receptionist on duty. Additionally, one of the two elevators was out of order, and the elevator was stuck on our floor, open, creating a potentially hazardous situation. We also found the cleanliness lacking, particularly with dirty baseboards and stained carpets, which was unexpected based on the information provided on the website.     Hotel staff were friendly but low in numbers. Only 1 person checking people in. Room was not cleaned between days of stay. Hotel is older. Bathroom very small but water was hot t and had good pressure. I’m not sure if VA beach is always like this but there were crowds of obnoxious 20 year olds that were rude and disrespect. Running and screaming in the halls til after 3am. No security on site or cameras to observe this activity.

    That was not the case with La Quinta at Virginia Beach. To start with, I drove 6hrs from New Jersey with my 6yr old daughter and we got their earlier than usual, we waited to get our room. The lobby was nice looking but once we walked to our room the hallways were dark and disgusting, it smelled bad! I felt as if I was in a dirty MOTEL! (Pictures on website were nothing like the REAL DEAL!!) There was no POOL or continental breakfast at the time they stated when asked they stated (6am-9am) and then all of the sudden when I went for it they stated it started at 7am. SMH!! Our room was clean (THANK GOD), but it had so many things wrong with it! The TV didn't have "connection" like HOW? so we didn't have any TV. The bathroom, the tub was clogged and had rust on it, we couldn't even shower there throughout our stay, we had to go to another cheer mates hotel to be able to shower. With the hectic weekend we had this WAS A BIG INCONVINCE!!! There was NO room service, and when I asked a worker she stated they didn't offer room service for the stays, and towels were not CHANGED unless you brought them to the front desk YOUSELF. Very disappointment with my weekend. Please fix this place

    The door to the bathroom doesnt actually open all the way, it hits the toilet. I don't mind a smaller bathroom, but this was really annoying. There was no shampoo bottle in the shower, and the conditioner bottle was just about empty, but on top of that it was evident someone had added water to the bottle and shaken it up to make it appear there was conditioner in there. They did have the mini bottles next to the sink, so we used those. But ultimately, we ended up taking a short walk to a nearby store and bought our own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There was also no hand soap next to the bathroom sink. The pool is an outdoor pool that is evidently seasonal. I don't remember reading anywhere while booking that it was seasonal. Traveling with kids, I always look for hotels with pools, only to find out the pool was actually not open. The hotel is within a very short walking distance of the beach, the boardwalk, many restraunts, fast food places, and shopping areas which made it really easy not having to worry about finding parking. We just left our car in the hotel parking lot. Don't use the elevators if you are fearful.

    Upon arriving at the property, the location was easy to find. There were ample parking spaces and the exterior looked exactly as it did in the pictures. I parked and headed inside to the front desk. The desk attendant who assisted me was very nice. She welcomed me to the area and engaged in conversation as she checked me in. Once check in was complete, I grabbed my stuff and headed to 519. The elevator is at the far end of the hallway which allowed me the chance to see the gym area. The pool is outside so it was still closed for the season though it was in the high 70’s. The elevator is older and not all the buttons light up; however, I got to my floor with no issues. The interior of the La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia Beach is two fold. There is modern furniture and a coat of refreshed paint, however, places such as the elevator, ice machine rooms, and hallways still have an older look and feel to them. Once in my room (519), it was spacious, clean, and fresh.

    The property is reasonably priced near the boardwalk that you can walk to. However, the property itself needs a facelift. The hallways, elevator and floor etc are old, ripped and had an odor. The rooms are not super clean and housekeeping forgets to clean the carpet corners and behind chairs etc. in the rooms. Breakfast room in AM was dirty, pieces of food everywhere, nothing left by 9:15 with a 10am cut off. My stay was not good. Loud guests that couldn’t be controlled because there was no security. Up all night being disrespectful to other hotel guest until 4 in the morning. Due to this the rating is extremely low.

    The primary reason we chose this hotel is because it has security cameras in the parking lot. During our stay my car was damaged while parked in the lot. After calling the police to file a report and they were told the cameras are non working decorations. When I approached the staff and told them I felt I was deceived by a false sense of security. The desk clerk unpleasantly told me there was a sign stating that parking was at the guests own risk. No such sign was posted and after she could not show me the sign she said it must have been damaged during a storm. I asked if we could be compensated for the inconvenience and she said absolutely not and that she didn’t hit my car! She was extremely insistent that the hotel would NOT assume responsibility. When I questioned why the cameras didn’t work she gave me an excuse that they didn’t function at that end of the building because during renovations they were disabled. This hotel has NOT been renovated recently. Furthermore the property is in disrepair; elevator was dirty with broken lights and improperly closing doors. When using the hotel near the elevator entrance we were met with the strong smell of marijuana smoke. It was strongest near the Staff Only area which leads me to believe it was NOT another guest especially since this is a Non smoking property. Also our room was NOT serviced any of the days during our stay. There was black mold in the shower too. Due to safety and security issues I would NOT recommend

    Very rude AM desk clerk. (Cheryl) was not friendly, and did not like my inquiring about where breakfast was served. I politely let her know I was not familiar with the property and that I was not from the area. She said, Well, I'm from-----! They didn't tell you about breakfast?! I let her know that I was informed of the time, I just wanted to know where to go. She made my otherwise pleasant stay ugly. The next day I went to breakfast late and did not have to encounter her. Either she was gone or not working the next day. Hospitality is supposed to be the primary thing a hotel demonstrates. You had a poor representative in this.     Did a trade show at the near by convention center.The hotel is located in a great area for fine food and live entertainment just a block away. The best thing in my opinion was the staff, especially a very professional young man named Blake at the front desk. The information he provided as to where to dine or just have some fun all within walking distance. Blake also went the extra mile to make our stay more than pleasant with his welcoming and very professionals demeanor . Great customer service!!! I stay at hotels more than 150 days a year and I can say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in years. Great location, comfortable, and most importantly a staff that goes beyond the call of duty. Thanks again Blake and Wyndham!!!
