Friendly and helpful staff from front desk to housekeeping. On site parking fills up quickly, but satellite parking is 1/2 block and 1 block away.

I noticed they were always working and cleaning, loved they had complementary laundry, we had been traveling a lot and needed a few things washed, fresh coffee maker with creamer was amazing, breakfast was great, I can only say my only disappointment at this location was no hot tub inside or out, in the long travels that amenity really helps on my aching bones and when I see a pool, they generally have a hot tub, but other than that, I would totally recommend this hotel for Virginia Beach experience (also they had a tractor grading the sand, which kept it looking very fresh and clean, five stars for that)

The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a nice refrigerator and microwave. The TV, while nicely sized, didn't work effectively -- the picture was often lost and the sound became garbled. The breakfast was very good -- nice array of options and the pancake maker was excellent. Hot pancakes, rather than the typical lukewarm ones you get when a tray of pancakes sits out. The fancy coffee maker (grinding/brewing/dispensing) is interesting and gives good coffee (but is somewhat slow and can produce a lineup of folks waiting for a morning brew). Parking was reasonably ample and the overflow lot wasn't too far away. But, the per day price for self-parking seemed excessive. No significant complaints other than the price of parking. And, like I said before, the intermittent TV reception was bothersome.

The front desk and housekeeping staff were extremely friendly and professional. The room was spotless when we arrived and they clean it daily. The breakfast was typical free hotel breakfast with various options. The staff checked in each day via text to see if we needed anything. The beds were super comfy and the refrigerator and microwave came in handy. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip.

The Sea View I was told that they would set up an extra bed and arrange a small surprise for my daughter's birthday, but they didn't—though everything else was fine.

I like that you can get breakfast at the hotel before you head out for whatever activities you have planned. I love that the hotel is right on the beach. This past weekend is the second time we had our family reunion at this hotel.

All rooms are facing the water, so everyone will get the wonderful waterfront view. The room with the balcony is a big plus. Rooms are clean with great size. Breakfast with variety of options and a great 3 hours time span (7 to 10 a.m). Wonderful and friendly staff.

Great location! So much to do, and no need for a car. The staff here are the BEST. Housekeeping had everything looking and smelling awesome. Alisa and the young man she works with (and everyone) were so helpful!!

Room was very clean, staff very helpful and courteous. Beach views were perfect. My only complaint was that the indoor pool did not look clear. I’m sure people would swim in the pool with sunscreen and the water looked cloudy. This was my only disappointment. I had booked the hotel in hopes my son could use the pool but the cloudy looking water wasn’t ideal for us.

My family enjoyed our stay. The location was wonderful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was phenomenal! The hotel staff went well above and beyond to make our stay great. We would definitely stay again.

The staff are very polite. THERE IS NOT ONSITE PARKING! THERE ARE ABOUT 40 PARKING SPOTS AT THE HOTEL. THEY FILL UP FAST SO I HAD TO PARK AT OTHER LOTS THEN WALK TO THE HOTEL.

It was a great view of the beach and very peaceful. The water was very hot. The manager Emily was very friendly and informative. The juice machine was not working. I informed all three staff members and the drinks still tasted like water and the apple juice looked very carbonated. The plumbing wasn’t the best my toilet was slowly flushing. The room smelled like it was vaccuumed with a bag that needed to be changed, it was a few hair follicles in the shower.

It had great views Carpet was worn in the room. Sink had no drain plug.

Holiday Inn and Suites Express Oceanfront is a great location for couples and families right on the boardwalk. It wasn't too far down the Beach where the majority of the excitement and noise is. There wasn't too much noise at night which was great for sleeping after a long day of walking, sight seeing, and climbing at the Adventure Park. It is close to so many attractions and even their Beach was nice, clean, and not crowded. We loved the complimentary breakfast each day! It was all fresh and a nice assortment each day. Parking could get a little crowded in the lot during the week since it was free during the week, but if you left to go sight seeing during the day, you will likely lose your spot. There is overflow parking across the street, but the adjacent lot outside makes it much more convenient, so definitely keep that in mind during your stay. It is probably the reason they charge for parking on weekends.

I booked a king suite room and ended up in room 301. This room was in terrible condition- it was extremely outdated, nasty carpet, no lighting whatsoever in the front room, and the king sized bed in the back bedroom appeared to be a Murphy bed that was not a king sized bed. I called the front desk to switch rooms and was told they were booked for the weekend and there were no other rooms to move to. The Manager, Emily did provide additional layers of bedding on the mattress of our bed because we could literally feel the springs and it was uncomfortable. While that helped, it was certainly not what I paid for or expected. We also had issues with the airflow and the heat, it wouldn’t warm up until someone from maintenance came up to fix it. We also had to call several times because there were literally no lights in the front room, they brought up two lamps which helped, but certainly was not ideal or what I paid for. The doors and walls were very thin and you could hear all the noise outside the hall and in the room next to us. They also had a flooding issues in rooms on the second floor while we were there, so they had fans out in the lobby to dry it out. The room had a small fridge/microwave. The overall location was nice- right on the boardwalk and ocean view. While I appreciated the Manager, Emily for trying to provide some support and assistance I think I still paid way too much for the extremely poor condition of the room and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The buffet breakfast was surprisingly pretty good. I had the egg and cheese omelette and it was not bad! The staff were very friendly.

The room was clean and well stocked. The view was excellent. It was my kids first time at a beach so they were excited. We actually went for a walk after their games and created memories there. I usually like to leave my room as clean as possible but due to time constraints and game time, I couldn't do what I usually do but when we came back, the room was back to the excellent state it was when we first checked in! As embarrassed as I was, I was very impressed. Breakfast choices were also great, we enjoyed it. The staff was consistently checking and refilling any empty food.

The hotel, the room and the views were all amazing. It was really fun staying here and looking down at the lights along the beach and right in front of the hotel. The staff, the food and the cleanliness were great. There was a really nice hearing impaired man cleaning the breakfast area when we ate and he was doing a fabulous job of cleaning the furniture, equipment and everything else.

Everyone was friendly and the room was clean. It had a small indoir pool that wasnt packed despite being sold out. Parking is free, but can be a bear if you have to find a spot in one of their other lots nearby. The breakfast was wonderful, they served corn beef hash, eggs, biscuits and gravy and turkey sausage along with pancakes, and the normal continental breakfast items. The only thing was that the remote control for the TV didn't work and didnt have batteries accessible and the clock looked funky with one light burned iut. It was another great stay at Holiday Inn Express though and the view was magnificent.

I booked right away as other hotels offer beach front views at a premium cost. The hotel was reasonably priced and was CLEAN. It’s on the beach and I expected to see wet floors and sand but I absolutely didn’t. It’s walking distance to several souvenir shops, restaurants and pubs. It’s really a great place to stay. The rooms were very clean, staff friendly , breakfast was good could have had a variety instead of sausage most days would have enjoyed waffles vs pancakes but overall it was a great place to stay!

Great hotel and staff. All rooms have ocean view which was so beautiful to watch the sun come up in the morning. I plan to stay there next year as well.

We had a Suite and the couch was very old and uncomfortable to sleep on when converted to a bed…. not sure it gets cleaned regularly either.

Clearly, the hotel does not have adequate parking, even with two overflow lots a block away. We came home around 2300 hours on a Saturday night and there was not one open space in any lot. I advised the desk personnel and the on-duty security lady that I had to park on the end cap. The phone rang at 0330 and the desk said I needed to move my truck for a responding ambulance. By the time I threw on clothing and went downstairs, the EMS personnel were already in the lobby attending to someone and the rig was parked in front of the hotel. They still wanted me to move my truck and the security officer said she was just st the overflow lot and advised there were two spaces in the lot the next block over. I complied and drove over to find only one spot, that was capable of fitting a motorcycle, certainly not a pick up truck. At this point, I was now becoming irritated that this lady sent me on some wild goose chase at 0330 hours but remained calm when I returned. I parked back in the same end cap spot and advised her that she was mistaken. She looked at me and did not respond. The employee at the desk said I could park on the end cap. At this point, fortunately a family member of the guest in need of medical treatment pulled in. The young lady at the desk said I could take her spot that was in the other overflow lot, which I was able to accomplish. I didn’t appreciate the attitude, not when you’re spending close to $400 a night to sleep and shower in a room !

If there was any feedback, it would be that they should add extra handicap spots, I counted 8 spots, which honestly were not enough & we had to park 2 blocks away. This is an issue at many hotels in Virginia beach where they are not enough parking spots at the hotel location and they have satellite parking for their guests, which is nice, however if you have some disability it can cause an issue. Even with all the minor concerns, we loved our stay and we will definitely be back.

Great customer service housekeepers will give you extra towels and all the things you need daily. Quiet , walking distance was very nice and convenient the staff was very welcoming and very kind and let us check in 3 hours prior.

We love staying at this hotel year after year. It’s extremely clean and everyone is super nice. Our room was very comfortable. Love the views of the beach from our room. Plenty of parking and breakfast was great. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

It's a really clean hotel the rooms are nice and updated. Nice big bathroom and good water pressure. They cleaned the rooms each day and brought fresh towels. We had an issue with our refrigerator when we got there and someone came and fixed it right away it had been turned down. All the staff was pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast with a wide variety of choices loved eating outside on the deck. Would stay there again!

It was adequate for the price and location, but there were a few issues that made the room itself a little crummy. No real deal breakers, but it could have been cleaner, the tp holder was broken, etc.

Nice safe clean hotel right on the beach. Breakfast was nice. Parking was scarce. Had to park in the second lot sometimes. Overall this is a nice place.

Parking was crazy & not ideal if you have small children.

Loved the sunrise from my balcony on the 8th floor. Bed was comfortable, it was clean, newly renovated. Great stay!

Staff was friendly and quick! Enjoyed our stay. Would have liked to have been able to park closer but did get parking at the furthest parking area and it was free.:)

The only problem is the parking.

Biggest issue was our first night - one of the elevators made an alarmingly loud scratching noise whenever it was in use. It lasted all night until they closed it down the following day. Then only having one elevator in service lead to longer wait times as it was constantly full.

Great beachfront location. Room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the beach. My family appreciated the continental breakfast and the "borrow bin" with beach toys.

Located on Virginia Beach boardwalk. Love the area. The room was small and not clean. The pool was milky the entire time and tiny. Balcony overlooking the ocean was nice. Breakfast was good and different options during the week.

We had a suite and it was 4/5. The common area had a pull out sofa bed which was a very dirty looking couch so of course I didn’t want to sleep in it so we got an air mattress. The only other downside would be the air. It has to be freezing on one side for the other side to feel comfortable. The indoor pool is super small. Parking was a little tight and hard to come by in the lot out front but aside from these things, I enjoyed my stay! Good breakfast and pretty clean. :)

Nice, clean, comfortable stay on the 5th floor. The AC gets very cold. Small balcony but functional. I loved the Dove brand products especially the hand soap opposed to the small bar soap most hotels still provide. Decent free breakfast but other than that and the small snack shop, this hotel doesn't offer any food options but no problem as there are several nearby. Great beach view and access. I would stay here again and recommend the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites VA Beach Oceanfront by IHG

The staff was super nice and honestly very helpful!! I loved how many options they had for breakfast and also how clean it was! only downside is they only have two elevators and sometimes we would have to do a line. Also parking was good but you have to be there early to find a spot or you can park it by the 7-11 which is like a 4 minute walk, but loved how you can stay till 3pm even tho you’ve already check out!!

There was no parking available even though they offer one free space per room. I went to all 3 lots, and they were all full. When I called the front desk, they made me wait for a security person to come and make sure there were in fact no spaces available. Then they told me to park in front of the hotel. This ordeal lasted one and a half hours! The worst part is that the following day I get a call from the front desk at 9:53pm telling me if I don't move my car to the farthest lot, then it will be towed!!!! Keep in mind that I was told me to park there!!! How do they think it is appropriate to call a guest in their room, then on their cell phone at 9:53pm??? I could have been sleeping and Jay (the front desk person) even threatened to have the car towed it my car wasn't moved from the space where I was told to park in the first place. I am incredibly upset about this situation. I was not in the wrong. The hotel failed to provide me with a parking space, told me to park in a spot then threatened to tow my car! This is not customer service!!!!

Great location on the boardwalk and quick access to the beach. Excellent selection for breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Great ocean view from the balcony. Parking could be a little challenging since they have 3 separate lots, but we always had a parking spot.

Very nice hotel. The hot buffet breakfasts were excellent. The unlimited coffee and tea in the lobby was good also. Enjoyed beach view room.

Wonderful Beachfront hotel! Here with family and a perfect 1 bedroom suite on each floor. Enter in Bedroom, then bathroom and door into oceanview kitchen/ living area and balcony 👍. Full fridge/freezer- microwave- sink and eating counter. Couch to fold out to double bed. Nice indoor pool for a rainy day

We were in VA beach for the sand soccer tournament. This hotel was more than we wanted to spend and made the mistake of getting a room ant a different hotel and our room ended up having roaches. We were able to get a room at Holiday Inn Express and it was so much nicer, cleaner, and the service was awesome.

Staff was responsive to concerns. Dirty elevator with food on floor. Would stay again.

Hotel staff was very friendly. When making reservation, I requested a low floor( traveling with toddler).. I even called 2 weeks before arriving- we get there and was put on 9th floor. While there were no other rooms available that night- we were put on lower floor the next day. Super important note- parking lot is small so they have over flow lots- but pay extra attention to signs bc you will get towed! Happened to me costing me an unplanned $220!! Guy who checked us in simply said park in lot on the left- that was not accurate!! Because they had signs up- it was obviously my fault- so don’t be me and not read all the signs! Room was very clean- breakfast was really good- lots to choose from.

We found an Invisalign retainer in our bed and they changed the sheets and cleaned the room on request. Everything else was fine.

Check in was very fast and easy. Oceanfront room is very nice. Close walking distance to everything. Pier is just a few blocks away.

This our “go-to” hotel for all of our Virginia Brach trips! The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean and the hotel is centrally located along the boardwalk. The staff are always friendly and accommodating…and the free breakfast meets our needs well.

Outside everything was clean and neat, beautiful flowers. Rooms weren't cleaned very well, there was dust on the fixtures. Other than that it was a good stay.

Very nice location! Beautiful view of the sunrise right off the balcony. Location is about .25 miles from Neptunes statue. Very walkable. Downside, the area has a lot of younger youth and very loud vulger rap music playing outside until late in the night.

On the first night, I didn’t realize it. I honestly thought everything was going great on day too. I saw that the whole ceiling was filled with insects from mosquitoes to ladybugs bees. I didn’t notice it till the next day. It would be great if they can keep on top of this stuff. It was on the last day if not, I would’ve checked out right away.

Great view from the 9th floor. A great variety of breakfast options. Room service every day I was there which seems to be unlikely lately at a lot of hotels so I was happy with that.

We were in VA beach for my daughter’s. ‘Cheer for Charity’ competition at the convention center. Our experience was great, check-in was so smooth. They let us choose what floor we would like. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean & fully stocked. Housekeeping came and gave us extra towels and cleaned even more. The lobby offered fresh ground coffee at any time of the day/night. The breakfast was amazing. They were constantly making sure the floors were clean. The countertops were wiped. We will definitely be back!! The view of the beach from our room was absolutely breathtaking. My daughter enjoyed the indoor pool. And access to the beach was right out the back doors, just steps away! 10 out of 10 we will be back! Most perfect location. Also, the staff was very professional.

We had a great stay! Staff was friendly and helpful! There were a few events going on while there and the road was going to close. Staff made sure we aware and wouldn't get stuck at the property. The hotel was a great location with a beautiful view.

Do not stay at this hotel anywhere near the second floor because you will not have hot water. We had no hot water our entire stay. When we reported to the office, we had to call more than three times. They were rude to us before they finally sent a technician to tell us there was nothing they could do. They told us to leave the water running to see if it got hotter. After an hour and a half the water temperature had never changed. They said we could go to another room and ask somebody if we can use their shower, which is completely inappropriate. We were traveling with a young child and had no choice but to stay the night. We do not recommend nor will we stay with them again. We also had to connect the television to the cable cord because it was hanging out of the wall. I am not sure how this hotel has such high reviews when the customer service was lacking, and the quality was not there.

We enjoyed our stay. The free breakfast and parking are great perks. Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean. We look forward to staying again.

the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are warm and cozy. The rooms are spotless. I always bring wipes and wipe down any room I stay at and when I wiped down the solid surfaces and handles, my wife was still clean. The bed is extra soft and I loved all the pillow options that are available.

Our stay wasn't that enjoyable, because the Heat didn't work. It was cold in the room to the point we had to buy a heater.
