Everything! The staff was amazing! Housekeeping and the front deck especially were really helpful. It was great only being a block away from the beach and shopping everywhere.

Rooms are very old and had a bad smell, Carpet was very old. Bathrooms are so small, toilet paper holder was falling off the hall.

The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for 5 people. They accommodated our dog with a reasonable fee. For a last minute trip, the Garner was affordable and convenient. Great location, friendly staff, and all of the basics for a few days at the beach. Early check-in was appreciated. Overall, would recommend for budget travel.

If you are traveling with a pet be prepared to pay $50 a night plus additional fees that they do not tell you about the property is great but not oceanfront and hidden fees.

Check in and out was a breeze, the young lady that helped us both times was very nice. We did not use the amenities however, the pool did look clean, but was not a very big area and the breakfast in our opinion was not very good. There should be some dairy free options available too, which there were not. The hotel was very convenient to the beach and Boardwalk. The rooms were clean, they just need some TLC which we did see some staff members that were cleaning and making improvements in the building. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

This is our 4th time staying with you guys. Enjoy the location, staff is friendly, helpful and responsive. Last time we had an ocean view which was lovely. This time we were on the first floor. It was very spacious however just really loud. Not anyone's fault just rude patrons that have no respect for people around them.

Location is amazing. The staff was all very polite if you needed them. Honestly I was texted the entire duration and if I needed anything it was done after I left and before I came back. Clean! I don’t care what anyone says, a beach hotel is hard to keep clean and I had no grit from the floors, no nasty filmy feelings. The hotel is not a 25 floor hotel with a chandelier center. This is a nice and affordable hotel across the street from the actual beach and located on the strip. 6 floors with an elevator (kind of slow but it works) and an out door gated pool. Breakfast is served in a separate area from the hotel which I appreciated since I don’t care for breakfast or food smells in the morning. (Separate meaning you left one door of the hotel, crossed a breezeway and entered the breakfast area) I had fresh towels everyday, my bed was made everyday, and the trash removed everyday. Parking was not at all terrible priced. $5 a day I believe. The parking lot is a bit crowded and harder if you have a larger SUV ( outlander was perfect, suburban maybe tight) overall I was happy with the stay and would stay again. It was hard to maneuver getting dressed and showering as there was little counter space. Also, the water pressure from the sink faucet. I understand wanting to prevent overflowing the sink, but the water barely comes out. Made it hard to even wash our hands.

Staff is exceptional. They upgraded our room for free. That being sais, the rooms are old and need updating. The breakfast is nice. Convenient to beach. Quiet

i never stayed at hotel paid money an was denied a room once i arrived after being told in multiple messages from hotel booking.com whatever all they do is lie in messages don’t even know y they pretend. personally i hope hotel an booking . com go out of business everything

My review is not reflective of the actual hotel, but the fact that this IHG hotel staff went ahead and signed me up for an IHG rewards account WITHOUT my consent. This was even after specifically asking me if I wanted to join and me declining, they did it anyway. That is an abhorrent violation of trust for your consumer. For the hotel itself, it was good. I have stayed multiple times. Room is comfortable and clean, walls are soundproofed, continental breakfast is good, etc.

They do have an overflow lot which isn't far at all... but the spots are for TINY cars. If you drive a large SUV or Truck your SOL.

Overall, room was clean. The room had a smell that wasn't good but wasnt bad either...just noticeable. I did find some strands of hair in the bathroom that made me say 'Ew!' The bed was clean and comfortable. It was less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. Breakfast could have been better. Bacon bits, scrambled eggs, bagels, apples, and yogurt. That's about it. The coffee was good though. I won't stay again, but it served it's purpose for the weekend.

The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to help. Their customer service really stood out and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a great variety of options, and our room was beautiful—spacious, well-maintained, and very comfortable. We traveled with our kids and our dog, and everything was accommodating and stress-free. It’s not always easy to find a place that works so well for families and pets, but this hotel exceeded our expectations. Overall, a great experience—we would definitely stay here again!

It’s was very close to everything. 1 block from the beach. Room was clean and ready before we arrived. Room was clean and spacious. The bathroom is on the smaller end but not completely terrible.

Only thing I didn’t like is that it didn’t have and balcony.

There was blood on my sheets and comforter that wasn’t mine. They were doing construction from sun up to sun down and it was very loud.

The hotel was in average condition and considering the price paid you cant expect a 5 star property. However, there are basic things that are expected from a hotel. That would be a clean room, and the room was not clean. The beds had sand, one of the pillows had a blood stain, the carpets were damp and it was very disappointing. The breakfast was ok, but the eggs tasted a little off and the main issue was that there is one small toaster for everyone and it was absolute insanity. They need a rolling toaster. Finally and the main issue, late check-out was requested and one staff member confirmed that it was done but then in the morning the lady at the desk advised that we do not have late check-out which was an absolute lie. Apparently she said there was a large party that paid extra for early check in and they cant give us a late check-out even though the other girl said I have the late check-out. It's an absolute disgrace that they had to lie..Never again.

Bed had visible dog hair covering it. Tub wouldn't drain. Breakfast bar had spoiled milk on it and was told it's not spoiled. Manager lied saying he would compensate me for my daughters allergic reaction to all the dog hair. Never received that. No waiting area. Cleaning staff took 8 hours to clean my room. I left at 9a and came back at three still was not cleaned. Then I had to sit by the front desk because the property has no where you can sit for my room to be cleaned. Manager rolled eyes at my children for asking for tissue when one day they just decided to not clean the room without prior knowledge

The carpet in the room smelt horrible like mildew. Anything that stayed on the ground (clothes, towels, etc) smelt horrible. I had to buy febreeze a couple days in but it did not help much. We did not have housekeeping clean our room but tried to exchange our towels each day. Staff was very stingy with getting more towels and on day 4 of 6 we were told no more towels. The property was very clean and the room was a really nice size for a family of 5.

Had a disabled room on the first floor, was good size and very convenient to get in and out of. Breakfast could be a little better. Had to walk outside to get to the room and to the breakfast area.

One of the only hotels with a large flat screen mounted high on the wall. I loved that bathroom products were by Dove. Parking was good. It was very quiet through the night. Wonderful stay. Our room was not attended when we came back that night. No one came to clean, and our card key did not work. Front desk asked me if we checked out that day (no, we did not), and if we moved the room? Then I have to get new set of towels downstairs myself since no one can deliver them to my room.

The negative things are they are changing $5 per day for parking, the exit and entry door to the hallway constantly makes loud slamming noise all night, and a $50 security deposit is held for 7-14 days from checking out.

There were 7 adults and 2 children with our family group and and we got 2 adjacent rooms. Each room had 2 queen sized beds and a fold out couch bed, which was more than enough room for us. The rooms were beautiful! They look exactly like the pictures on the website. The bathrooms are smaller but clean and tidy with a nice shower head with good water pressure. They also use Dove products and provide hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The beach is super close and there is so much to do within walking distance.I highly recommend this hotel and we will book our vacation here again.

Hotel smelled absolutely disgusting. Overpopulated and overcrowded only one elevator that made leaving and entering the hotel take ages. Service was decent but lack of employees around the welcome center when needed. Breakfast “room” which was closet sized and lacked any decent food and was not organized at all and minimal seating.

Smelled like mildew in the room. They turned off our key cards never called us or anything, because we had a dog, a pet friendly hotel but never stated there was a 50 dollar fee per night, and a fee to park. Never been to a hotel that you had to pay to park. Will not be returning! Front desk staff rude!

There is a breezeway with ramps both sides. The handrails are broken and dangerously unsafe specially for kids.

We noticed that most of the family was sneezing a lot during the stay. I can't help but think mold had something to do with it. The room also was not the cleanest either. Especially the bathroom floor!

Advertised that the rooms were soundproof and most definitely were not and it’s an “oceanfront” hotel but it’s not. One elevator was a hassle especially when it came to checkout time. Not a dealbreaker though still had a great experience overall.

The hotel's proximity to the beach/oceanfront os excellent. The room size and the cleanliness is awesome. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. My family and I will definitely book on this hotel again for our next trip.

Hotel was clean throughout. Staff were all very friendly. Room was clean, comfortable, and accommodated our party of 6 comfortably however the bathroom was extremely small. I think it is the smallest hotel bathroom I’ve ever been in. Clean but no room to put anything. The provided breakfast was not great and the dining space was small and always packed. It was very hard to get in to get food as the toaster was about midway and people were always hoarded around it making it nearly impossible to get to anything on either side. The juice and coffee were also very watered down and not good. I didn’t reduce my star rating based on the breakfast as the friendliness of the staff made up for it! I would recommend this hotel!

I like that we were walking distance to the beach. I did not like that parking was not included with room rental. Also the parking fee was a little more than some parking areas.

The sofa bed was the worst I’ve ever seen — completely uncomfortable, impossible to sleep on, and had no cover at all, even though I paid for a room for 5 people. This is unacceptable and feels like a complete disregard for guest comfort. The breakfast was terrible, with very limited options, and the breakfast area itself is a cramped, closed room with only 8 tables — totally inadequate for the number of guests. It was so crowded that many people had nowhere to sit. The furniture is old, poorly maintained, and the overall cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Service was unfriendly and unhelpful throughout our stay. Parking is available but comes with an extra $13.73 fee, which feels unreasonable given the low quality of the stay. The pool is tiny and unappealing, nothing like the photos. Overall, this hotel is overpriced, overrated, and not worth it. I would never stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, or decent service.

We were completely okay with that, when returning the gentleman at the desk insisted we never paid for parking and demanded we show the parking pass. My husband went to the car and retrieved it, and the man still gave us a fit and demanded payment. I had to go the point of pulling up my bank account to prove we had paid. He then hands me 2 cookies for the inconvenience (as if that fixed how we were treated). Overall, the hotel itself was clean and very spacious. The only downside is the property only has 1 elevator so there was usually a wait, and the parking is scarce. Luckily, there is a trolley that runs if you want to see the sights and go to different restaurants.

I will be coming back every year! The room was very clean and spacious. No issues with the room at all! Last year the floor hallways and trash were cleaned up AM sharp. And the solution that was used on the floors smelled so good! Didn’t smell like they were using the same cleaning products this year and a little on the late side of the afternoon for the trash pickups by the elevator. Please go back to the same cleaning products for your floors and maybe add one more person to help with the daily cleanups. But all around great family stay for the week with my future mother in love! The breakfast bar was excellent. The normal one two for a breakfast buffet food but it was clean and the coffee OMG the coffee is amazing! Please don’t ever change your coffee! The pool is small and needs a little paint on the edges but again it was clean! So no complaints! We will see you next year BA Beach and Garner Hotel!!! Thank you!

Super clean, they clean the room and replace all the towels daily, super close to the beach, staff will clean tables in the breakfast room right away when someone leaves Super nice staff

One elevator, long wait times. room was nice/ big. Asked front desk for pool towels, told staff was at lunch and they will restock when they get back. He could have just gone in back and gotten towels. Few min later, i asked cleaning staff and they retrieved towels immed. Do not recommend this hotel. Its one step up from a motel!

Very clean. Awesome, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Spacious room. We did have an issue with very loud occupants ( after 11:30 pm)in the next room, but front desk staff resolved this issue immediately once brought to his attention . Will definitely stay here again!

It was frustrating. Everything was a we do not do that. "Can I get late checkout tomorrow?" - you will have to ask tomorrow. "Can you hold my luggage since we are here for a sport event and we do not have to be at the airport for many many hours?" - No, we dont have that ability and we cant. Well, every other hotel can.

We were originally supposed to have 6 people and our group turned out to be 5 the couch did not open and if we had had the 6 it would have been awful. The staff was officious and refused our request to watch luggage, extra pillows were treated rudely. We won’t be back

Easy in and out. Some of staff hard to understand. But good service. Convenient to the beach. Room was clean. Breakfast was small but good.

The lightskined housekeeper was pretty rude but everyone else was wonderful Loved the pool had a decent breakfast enough to get us started but definitely nice place right across the street from beach front walked to the beach in under a minute Great stay!!

Clean room very reasonable pricing friendly staff definitely will be returning when we visit Virginia Beach again

The Hotel Staff was incredibly polite and room was average as far as cleanliness the only complaint was the leaking AC unit which made it difficult to get into the one bed or really stand at window for the view of the boardwalk.

The staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. The room and facility were clean and well maintained. Lots of people enjoying the pool and only a block or so from the beach. We had a great time!

I reserved a room for 2 adults and 2 kids which was supposedly a 2 double bed room, but the moment I entered I saw a king bed, I was told that it would get solved but I ended up paying for another room as my family needed, I had to pay twice although I didn’t get to use the first room, and so far I haven’t gotten a refund. $300 gone to waste, horrible experience! The area was the only thing that was worth it.

Good location, for food and the beach. Washer and dryer onsite was helpful. Breakfast wasn't exceptional, no waffle machine. No coffee machine in rooms, needed to walk to lobby for coffee.

It was very family oriented.The staff was ver helpful and friendly. One in particular went out his way to give my grandson a present for his Birthday. That was very kind.

This property was phenomenal! Close to the beach, good eats, and excellent location overall, pool was clean! no complaints!! will be there again !
