It was on the boardwalk and had a beach view. Our door to our room was so hard to open we had to thrust our hip into it every time to get inside. The staff didn’t seem very pleased when we asked for help with it. When we did get into the room the sliding door to the balcony was so difficult to open as all, we didn’t shut it our entire stay because we were afraid we couldn’t get it back open. When you travel so far, the last thing you want to do is have to fight to get into your hotel room and enjoy the view/balcony you paid for.

The location was nice, right on the beach. I went during off season. The heater didn't work, but staff relocated us. There was construction going on do it was extremely loud.

The suite was perfectly clean and spacious. It had a great view and the balcony was awesome to enjoy the sound and sights of the beach from our room. The included breakfast was good. The manager was not the nicest or friendliest lady. The pool was super cloudy you could not see the bottom of the pool so we did not use it. the property could use some maintenance -like the floor in the elevators were falling apart, the doors to the ocean front from the lobby were broken. The parking was $20 a day would be better off parking in the all day lot for $10.

When I like about it was the scenery you can look out at the beach. What I didn’t like about the property the bathroom faucet was loose. The bathroom was outdated. The elevator floors need to be remodeled. The hotel room wasn’t clean enough.

Overlooking the ocean and right on the boardwalk! Right across from Ben and Jerry’s and a Sunsations store. Within walking distance to many places to eat and shop, and the fitness center was right down the hall from me on the 2nd floor.

Location, staff, accommodations!! We didn’t have access to the balcony due to ongoing work, but we did receive free breakfast in exchange.

I will NEVER lodge at this hotel again. I am surprised and disappointed that Marriott would allow this under their brand name. The balcony chairs were in the room in a corner. The balcony door was unaccessible due to renovation. I was placed in a room for the hearing impaired. $18 per night for parking, etc. etc. $761 total for two nights. RIDICULOUS!

I love the view ? We were having problems with the t.v and remote, but the staff got right on it.The room was smaller than I expected but that was okay

Not much. We had an ocean front room, but the door to our balcony was zipped tied shut and covered in caution tape blocking access to the balcony and blocking our view of the ocean. If the balcony was under construction, they shouldn't have rented us the room.

The staff was very nice. Our room was clean. There was construction on two of our three days and it was very loud. Our room was a little dated with water stains on the ceilings and a tub that couldn’t drain unless you held the lever down the entire time. Our room didn’t really get warm even when we’d turned the heat up. We let the staff know but nothing was ever done to correct anything.

Second floor in a multi floor hotel that appeared fairly empty was disappointing. Bed was not comfortable. Sliding door to balcony was VERY difficult to open/close.

The staff lied about the fact they were going to call to get me checked in early. Then when I do check in (different lady) she told me the complimentary breakfast is 6:30-10:00. I go down around 7:00 only to find out that was another fib.

2. Double beds are very compact 3.In my room conditioner bottle was empty.They should have refilled before hand over the key. Only shampoo and shower gel were there. NO BODY LOTION in my room. 4. Flush was almost broken in the toiltet.

Only complaint I have-NO safe and NO wall magnifying mount mirror to apply makeup. Otherwise, had a great customer experience celebrating my anniversary. I love Virginia Beach. The leaking roof by the front door while walking in was horrible! Room was nice… bed okay. Plus the entire downstairs had a flood but they did sent me an email about that before we arrived.

I booked my room with breakfast included but was told at check in that it will be a fee. Anyhow, it was shown up correctly at the breakfast check in. Yet, at check out, the breakfast fees were charged to the credit card on file, which was rectified when questioned. Just check your receipt carefully before leaving.

I like the location of the hotel and the rooms were really nice. I dislike the parking area, it was small and tight. & I was disappointed that the pool was out of order…

The staff's politeness was truly commendable. I made an extra request that didn't need to be accommodated, yet they handled it expeditiously and with a smile. This level of service truly sets them apart. The bartender was friendly and added a delightful touch to my evenings with his engaging conversation. Moreover, the manager was incredibly kind and polite, making sure every guest felt welcome and cared for. It's rare to find such a warm and dedicated team, and it made my stay truly memorable. I'm thrilled to have discovered this gem and can't wait to return. The Courtyard Marriott in Virginia Beach has become my go-to hotel whenever I'm in the area. Highly recommended!

Everyone was super friendly at the front desk especially Genevieve. We had a quick stay. Room was clean and I would come back.

Everything was great, two observations, 1- should monitor the smell on elevators, unfortunately lots of people smoke weed inside them and it really makes the smell terrible... 2- Pool area should gave better drying service. After all everything was great and rooms are excellent the location of the hotel is perfect for all shopping and dinning experience.

I was disappointed there was no outdoor pool when the website clearly showed it. The sister Courtyard a mile down the road would not allow me to use their outdoor pool.

Parking is incredibly tight. Booked a room to accommodate 5 but was given a room for 4. We were provided a roll away bed, but there were no “extra” pillows to accompany that bed. Received no housekeeping during the stay. Requested towels that never came. Lock sticks making the door very hard to actually open. No microwave in room, rather a singular communal microwave per floor. Will not book again.

We had a great experience. My spouse has mobility issues and therefore we booked a handicapped room. There was a bar in the tub but no collapsible seat. That would be awesome if this could be an added feature. All in all a great getaway!

The hotel was very nice and clean. The bathtub had slip free stickers on the tub, which i appreciated since my mom is handicapped and i fell in the tub before.

Due to the location of the hotel on the broadwalk the noise could not be prevented.

Beds were extremely hard. WiFi and cable would randomly go out. The building needed maintenance, floors by elevator warped and broken, ceiling in entrance very damaged due to some kind of leak. We left a day earlier than expected

We came to Virginia Beach to visit our son that is a US Marine at Oceana Navy base. We also chose to make it a vacation for me and my husband! Hotel was perfect, clean and great location!

The only thing I didn't like was, when I needed towels I asked guest services if I could get some and they stated that they would send it up. Nothing so I went down to front desk and asked and got the towels. Check in was a breeze and very helpful.

Expensive. Dated. Not very clean or comfortable. A relatively reliable name, however they just slapped it on an old hotel. The keycards erase constantly if placed near a phone, credit card or ??? Needed to get replacement cards several times daily.

Liked property, very clean and comfortable. Staff very nice and helpful, except for one incident . Very comfortable room. One night, a man tried to get into our room, he was trying his key, but it wasn’t working. We could hear him. Told him we were in there, he said it was his room, I said no, we have been here a few days. Tried to call front desk, no answer from hotel phone, tried guest services, busy. Called on cell phone, either my phone hung up or the hotel hung up after several minutes of ringing. Called back again and immediately heard “hold music”. Held for several minutes, then hung up. After that, felt very unsafe, not knowing if front desk would pick up in the future. Decided I would call 911 if there was a future emergency. Reported incident to assistant manager, she was very concerned about incident.

Excellent day from the time you check in to the time you leave that is a beautiful hotel. I would recommend everybody to stay there. It is a really nice hotel family friendly love it.

The location is amazing being right on the boardwalk. The room was very clean and the housekeeping services were very good. The front desk was also very helpful. The hallways and elevators could have been more kept up, but overall the condition was great. The fitness center is a rack of hand weights and 3 treadmills, just fyi. Also, the "restaurant" is very limited. There would probably be a better value staying at a comparable spot that has an included breakfast.

Parking is limited and finding the garage at night was difficult.

Large room - bed comfy - great views from 3 sides(end unit). Hotel under construction - tho that didn’t affect us directly - would say it needs it! Rainy & VERY windy during our stay - caused windows to rattle - could feel air coming through near the heat/air unit & floor surrounding it got very wet. Informed staff upon checkout. IF hotel does daily room service we did not receive any - though we were gone most of the day. Can’t imagine what summer rates are for this hotel but certainly wouldn’t pay it to stay there!!

Place was a dump. No water, no service, no restaurant, no amenities. I want my money back. I will never stay at a Marriot property again.

Ceiling gushing water at 7 am. Floors soaked. Several things not in working order in the room. Staff overwhelmed. Probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

A pipe burst above our room on the 10th floor and water was pouring down to the lobby. Our room had water pouring out of everywhere at 6am. The staff ws great and did what they could for everyone, but there is not much they could do. They had to shut all water off in the hotel. I am asking for a full refund plus. Some of our stuff was soaked and we were acrambling to run down the stairs 10 stories.

The property was under renovation. I was out in a newly renovated room. The decor was nice and up to date. However, there were a few issues that the contractors needed to go back and fix. The facet in the tub was caulked or secured to the wall. There was a chunk of cabinet missed from the refrigerator cabinet and there was what looked to be moss, or some other green organism, growing on the sprinkler in the room. When I first checked in, the water pressure in the sink was spotty, however, this could be attributed to them having to turn the water off to renovate, and it resolved itself after awhile. The hotel is located in the oceanfront so you can’t go wrong with that. It was clean and quiet. I’d go back.

We have booked our room a month in advance. When we checked in, we noticed some renovations going on. We were told the pool wouldn't be open until the next day. The next morning the water was cut off. We called the Front Desk and were told they're about to call everyone thst they were shutting the water off for a few hours. We also received an email letting us know about the renovations going on. The hotel should hzve notified us a week before so we could made reservations somewhere else. That ruined our new year celebration.

My husband and I went to see the lights at the boardwalk for the weekend. Loves the oceanfront view.

It was fine everything was cool but picked it for the room and for the indoor pool and the pool is being renovated that should have been something listed before I booked it the kids looked forward to swimming we would have had to gone like to 30 something street to swim and I didn’t want to take them in and out the cold after swimming

Room was dirty shower was for handicap persons and I did not book that type of room, the showers water drained into a puddle in the hall way. Staff was rude, parking was an additional $16 and a block away, staff only allowed 1 car per room so my spouse had no where to park his car after a 3 hour drive to this hotel. We did not stay here I left at 11pm, I’m calling to get a refund on Tuesday.

Very enjoyable stay. The room was clean and spacious, and the split bathroom layout nice. Employees were very friendly and helpful, especially when the balcony door stuck and I was stranded. It took two calls to the corporate Marriott number, but as soon as I found someone who would help, I was quickly inside.

I loved the space for the room and everything was clean, only thing I would say I would change or update is the chairs in living space and bathrooms with walkin showers.

Room had a dirty sock in the bed, the balcony door was awfully constructed, would stick and felt like the glass was gonna disconnect from the frame. The bathroom foot was sticky and the toilet felt like it was going to disconnect from the floor. I had a sandwich from the bistro and it was stale and gross. Overall for the price you pay, this was not great.

Hotel was nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was disgustingly dirty and in need of a major deep clean. Lamps and all surfaces were covered in dust, bathroom floor was black with dirt, dirty shower, and stained shower curtain. We had friends staying in another room that was in much better condition than ours. Water was also shut off for routine repairs, but was left off for almost 3 hours longer than expected which caused my Husband and I to miss our anniversary dinner reservation which was extreme disappointing. They said they would refund our parking fee due to this, but I was still charged for parking. Do not think I’ll be staying at this location again.

Great location. Ocean front room had a great view and our room was available for an early check in. Only complaint about the room is that the lighting in the bathroom area was very poor. Even with all the lights turned on during the day and the curtains wide open, not enough light to put on makeup or put in my contact lenses. Also, I never knew toilet paper could be so thin! Each square of toilet paper practically melted in my hand as I tried to get it off the toilet paper roll.

Fantastic girl getaway. We booked the hotel from this site and had no idea how does it would be. Iris offered us an upgrade so no on would have to share a bed. Every person we met was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We are already planning our trip back!

Parking was inconvenient - the lot is way too small. The tub needs replacing and updating - the staff was friendly and the room comfortable
