The only complaint my family and I would have is there were no sheets for the pullout sofa. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had never been to Virginia Beach so we weren’t sure what to expect or where anything was. The hotel was quiet at night. We’ve stayed at hotels where kids are running through the halls all hours of the night. This hotel we didn’t have to deal with that. We would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future should we come back!

I loved that it was not pet friendly. With allergies to pet dander, it was hard to find a hotel that didn’t allow pets in your area. Thank you for thinking of us allergy sufferers. The room was clean and quiet. I will be back!

I had a suite and the room itself was decent. I was extremely disappointed with the hospitality at the hotel. I was in town 4 nights for a conference and the staff NEVER came to do clean up or even take out the trash. I would see staff on the floor making rounds and would come back to a full trash can and the bed unmade. I had to sit the trash can in the hallway and ask for more towels on my way out one day. They replaced the towels, took the trash can, and STILL did not clean up. When I told the front desk attendamt, they gave me a very dry and uninterested response, not even offering an apology. I'm a Marriott rewards member and have never had this kind of experience at one of the properties. For almost $200 a night, to not receive the bare mimimum is umacceptable and I would not recommend staying at this property.

Good location It was under construction, that’s ok but we weren’t told that. The room was nice the bed was uncomfortable. The key to the room never worked. Had to use the master key twice to get in. When they finally moved us the air conditioner was making a horrible noise. They had 2 different groups there that had breakfast but we were led to believe we could order breakfast and was told no. Same thing at the bar. Could see they had alcohol but was told no they weren’t open

Room look great. Was very spacious. Clean The manager was horrible. Her attitude sucked. On booking.com it simply stated that I wouldn’t need to pay anything once I arrived because I paid upfront. Come to find out they change $50. When I tried to explain to her she had a horrible attitude stating I needed to find the money.

The hotel is under renovation and when we pulled up it looked ran down. We wasn’t sure if we should go in because it didn’t even look open until I seen someone walk out. The entrance looked horrible. We had to get new keys twice not sure why they stopped working. With its current state it shouldn’t have been open or rooms should have been discounted.

We pulled up late at night, two ladies in an unfamiliar town, and the place was very foreboding. They are doing renovations on the lobby and from the circle entrance we couldn't see the front desk, just construction. There were zero signs. Eventually I went to the door to check it out and after I went inside I could see the front desk and a person. So my complaint is, if you are going to do renovation and your place looks like a ghost town, put up some signs. Could also use more signage from the road. It shouldn't be that hard. After that everything was fine.

The building is under construction so I expected the lobby and other areas to look the part, however, the hallways and room also looked as if they were still under construction. This wouldn't have been a big deal however for the price you pay, you should def get a discount if everything is in disarray. I'm sure it will look nice when its complete but it did not feel welcoming.

Told at 10PM with NO WARNING.. they had no rooms. MIND YOU I BOOKED 2 Weeks prior. Staff was unwilling to help and just looked off in the distance. Hotels.com "customer service" was equally as usless. I called Marriott, they couldnt help with this reservation but we kind enough to book me in another Marriott property that WAS OVERBOOKED. After I had paid a second time. I THEN after calling Marriott AGAIN.. they get me into a different Marriot that finally had rooms.. so at 2AM I finally had a room.. YH2BFKM. NOt sure which is worse, the fact Marriott screwed up or that there was NO WAY at 10PM to get a real person at Hotels.com. THIS IS THE LAST TIME I WILL USE HOTELS.COM

I am extremely disappointed that Expedia would offer this hotel on your website. The hotel was not inhabitable. There were less than 10 cars in the parking lot raising a question before I even went in the front door. I went in with an open mind and checked into the hotel thinking that it couldn't be that bad. As I approached my room I walked down the first floor hallway where there was carpet missing, tile missing, baseboards missing and most if not all room number plates. As the room numbers were written on the banged up walls with pencil. I went into my room once going up the elevator and down the hallway on the third for which was equally as terrible as the first floor hallway. Once in my room I went to the restroom and flushed the toilet and the toilet had an extremely slow flush making me think that perhaps it wasn't going to flush all of the way. After three total flushes the toilet paper finally went down the toilet drain. Then when leaving the bathroom I noticed that the peep hole did not have any glass or barrier in it. It was a hole straight to the hallway. It was at this point that I grabbed my bags and and left the building. I did not speak to anyone at the front desk to ask for a refund. I was so uncomfortable that I went straight to my car to leave the parking lot to find a different hotel in town to stay in.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Upon arriving I thought it looked like a bank owned hotel. The landscaping had not been touched and the grass was over grown. When I walked in the entire place was under renovation but nothing was done yet. It looked like someone bought an old nasty hotel to renovate it to become a Marriott but they only updated the rooms and nothing else. Luckily the rooms were updated with new furniture. It looks like owner might have done the rooms first to help pay to do the rest of the hotel slowly but surely. I paid a lot of money to stay at this hotel so I was pretty upset. The ice machines do not work either.

Awful, our group had 25 + people staying there, no ice machine working, no breakfast, no gym accessible, laundry was out of order, no towels, no washcloths, no housekeeping in 5 nights of staying! The grass and landscape haven’t been touched in months. I understand they were remodeling which was to be completed in June. Still wasn’t done plus never saw a worker there. So the hotel was a mess and in awful shape. There was a child that pooped in pool and we requested them to clean pool, otherwise not sure if or when cleaning would happen. This hotel should be shut down. I have photos off all the conditions of this hotel. Aswell as the BLACK MOLD we found. I will be reaching out to the manager which I tried while at hotel but was told she wasn’t there and that I would be contacted by her however they never took my name or number.

I very rarely write a negative review, but my experience here this past weekend could not be ignored. This property is under heavy construction which is not divulged beforehand. The staff acted as if any questions were a bother even though because if the construction, it is very confusing. There was no working phone in the room. The walls, halls, etc leading to the room had stripped paint, ripped out places where something had previously hung, and there was construction equipment inside. The washer in the laundry room wasnt working. The outside is in desperate need of updating/repair. I couldn't believe this was a Courtyard by Marriott facility (thought I was in the wrong place). Geese everywhere (and their poop), so getting inside was like walking through a minefield! So glad that I had only booked one night (this was a holiday weekend). The place we stayed for the next night was a refreshing experience in comparison.

Property was not reflective of photos shown. Aside from the obvious renovations (sign posted), hallways were hot with no air conditioning. My room did not contain a trash can as well as the customer greeting on the television home screen showed another guest's name. Also the parking lot was filled with trash. As a frequent guest based on my hotel chain preference, this property was below the standard of the Marriott standard.

Parking was few & far between. Property was under construction, which was a surprise. We would not have chosen this hotel, had we known. Construction materials were strewn about and the outside area had trash on the ground all around. Hallways were under construction & had no carpet, crew or hotel staff had written notes on the walls next to door room entries. Very limited lighting around the outside of property.

The property appears to be in the middle of a renovation, yet they are still renting rooms. The hallways were dusty and smelled like pet urine. My room wasn't completely clean the shower had soap scum on the walls and shower curtain from the last visitor. I see that the property has potential, the staff just needs to care more about the customers experience and impression.

The hotel room that we stayed in was pretty good. Unfortunately, for our stay they are in the middle of doing a lot of work to the place. Which is great for future stays, just not for this one. There was duck tape keeping the doors open, which made it unsafe. The pool wasn’t open the 1st 2 days & nights that we stayed. It just opened on Sunday, so we feel like we got gipped. The housekeeping staff didn’t speak English, so when we were asking for something it was confusing for us both

Property is under *major* renovation until August of 2025. Honestly, upon arriving, I thought that I had the wrong place. It looked like it had been abandoned and was no longer in operation. This property, as of early March 2025, is a complete dump. They're renovating the entire hotel (interior, exterior, lobby, corridors, rooms - everything) simultaneously and the whole place is filthy, covered with construction debris & discarded furniture all over the parking lot, festooned with plastic sheeting all over the interior, and generally feels very unclean and not secure at all with every exterior door in some state of being propped open, or just not able to be closed. They need to shut it down, finish the remodel, and reopen when it's fit for paying guests. I've stayed in better cheap motels.

when I checked in, there were cracks in the floor tiles. The vibe was sketchy. The elevator was dirty and chipped. The entire building reeked of smoke. When I reluctantly headed to my room, there were curtains attempting to hide horrible construction. The whole building was dimly lit and sparse. my room was otherwise clean but the door leading to the balcony was not secure. I left to run an errand and decided it may not be worth coming back for my luggage to leave. I did not feel safe as a single woman traveler (who travels frequently alone) telling management that things were not acceptable so I simply worked up the courage to get my things and leave.

Clean, bed comfy, shower fine, BUT… IT IS A TOTAL CONSTRUCTION ZONE. Fitness center inoperable (see photo), 1/2 the lobby zoned off with major construction happening right now. LOUD CONSTRUCTION Beeping forklifts outside moving renovation materials at 7 AM on a Saturday. Grinding and Jackhammering of tile in the lobby on a Saturday morning while trying to enjoy coffee. Zero signage to find this place late at night. Trash all around exterior of junked sofas. Seriously looks like someone ran into the building at the moment. No ice machine working on floor. Price was a lot considering how so many amenities were not working. Walls paper thin thus things like beeping forklifts outside were more noticeable. Room door was very finicky for keys. Some elements of hotel have been modernized but I would maybe look elsewhere unless the rate is a real steal. I really need to hit a gym when traveling especially with the cold weather can’t go outside so to see they didn’t attempt to have a fitness center available was disappointing. Staff was friendly but again if you’re used to courtyard this was a downer.

There is no complimentary breakfast and the items for purchase are limited. As the property is isolated from other resturaunts, breakfast choices are limited. There is a coffee pot in the room but no coffee, tea or other beverages, other than water, available without cost.

The room was clean. The outside wasn't as tidy but you could tell it was from the guests staying there (i.e. cigarettes on the ground) Other than that everything was fine.

The staff was really nice and accommodating. The balcony didn't lock and the area was not the best but overall will stay again.

Front desk was not rude but not nice either. There were renovations going on so it was a little loud. Everyone that worked there seemed like they’d rather be anywhere but there. Breakfast service was horrible. I got charged for internet data service and wasn’t even told about it. I must have accidentally clicked the wrong button when I logged on. I was on the internet for about 5 minutes. Not enough to warrant $5.

The property did not show indicators to identify the name of the hotel. Had to drive stone around the building to identify facility. The elevator had water in the floor. The water pressure for the shower was limited. The refrigerator did not safely keep food cold. The phone lines were down causing the phones to not work. Did not know the phones were down until I've tried calling the front desk about the refrigerator. Reported room problems to the front desk and was told they will have someone to check it out. No one checked on the reported problems by checkout time. Told the manager the same problems when asked how was my stay. He disclosed about the phones, but no one made a reference to the refrigerator.

When we arrived the first room they gave us was not cleaned. Bed was not made and it looked like someone was still staying in the room. The second room they gave us was not the room type we requested. The air conditioner leaked soaking the floor. We requested a king bed and sofa bed. They only gave us a room with a king bed. Service at the front desk was horrible. The morning manager was arguing with my wife about the room quality saying “oh that happens sometimes”. Curious how they are charging customers for specific room requests and not giving them the proper room that they are asking for. Never staying here again.

The room smelled of mildew. The bathroom floor and shower was not clean. The AC made an awful and loud noise all night. The door clearly had been pryed open at one point and not repaired so you had to struggle to open it.

This was not a good stay for a hotel rated above 8 out of 10. Was put in a room where the tub would not drain but the staff ensured me problem had been resolved the week before. Put in a second room only to find this room had the same problem. The third room was not a charm as it had electrical issues. While disconnecting my phone charger from the wall the receptacle stayed stuck to it and once it touched metal emitted a series of sparks.

What an embarrassment to Marriott name! This place is at level of a motel 6 at best. The building and rooms need a serious renovation, some of the guests look filthy and smoke marijuana which you can smell in the elevator, the elevator itself sounds like it’s about to break any minute. No complimentary breakfast and with that price per night you think you can get a better service.

the rooms are full of smoke smells. the sliding glass doors is jimmy rigged for locking. the sofa furniture is old and the cushions are sunk in. the carpet is old and smelly in the rooms. the hallway carpet is smelly. the building is smelly. there is a smoked cigar that was left on the patio in room 320. I informed the front desk of the cigar, while they apologized, the cigar remained on the patio. a bug crawled on my computer cord while I was working. the bathtub was dirty and stained. the sink was clogged. the bolt lock on the door did not lock the door. I was moved from 233, 244, and now 320. I called Expedia immediately and the Agent called the front desk. I was told I would be charged for the night of rent even though I was there less than 1/2 hour. I did not sleep in the bed, nor did I shower. It was just that undesirable. I have pictures. This hotel needs shutting down until they can remodel.

Too many missteps to mention. But I’ll try. Dirty outside entry with overflowing trash, no directional signs, keys did not open side doors, bath amenities illegible, no adequate parking, no valet cart, Snacks inadequately stocked and the ‘Starbucks’ on site was horrible. Poor audio on TV - sound kept cutting out. Poorly positioned TV. TV too small. Awkward room configuration. Door too wide for water closet, and worst of all, the entire place stunk of pot. Horrible example of Marriott brand. Close it.

This hotel should not be titled a Marriot Courtyard hotel unless they have reduced standards. It's a bad location and it's a sub-standard hotel for a Marriot. The room was comparable to a $75-$85 hotel room. The hotel and parking are crammed amongst 4 other hotels. The hotel is very close to I-64 and 264 (to the beach), bit that is the only positive. Not terrible, but won't stay there again.

Rooms aren’t renovated to be more modern like the beds, sofa & bathroom so it wouldn’t be my first option but a safe option because it was still decent amenities & offered high levels of convenience to a top golf, sports center & the beach too.

Had to change out of original room due to bug cockroaches in the room. Second room notice when ready to leave dicovoa dirty men’s sock on the floor under the bed skirt and carpet looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed. I traveled 3 hrs so I basically dealt with it.

Comfortable room. Decent amenities in room. Great receptionist/check in, but.... ONLY one washer and one dryer in the entire hotel. How can this make any sense? I was fortunate enough that another guest sho hd two ginat loads to wash, allowed me to go in between his two loads. I then had to dry my clothes hanging them around the room. The washer did a poor spin cycle and if I did not have the heat cranked up, the clothes never would have dried before morning. As it was, my socks were still damp when I packed up.
