It was great except for one elevator not work 90% of the time. Staff outstanding, free breakfast outstanding, the exterior needs some cosmetic upgrades. BUT GREAT STAY AND OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE!!!

The room was clean, neat and everything was in working order. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The building does show signs of wear and tear, and it does need to be updated. During my stay, there was only one working elevator and I was on the 11th floor. So, getting up and down was a bit difficult. My biggest problem was that there were roaches. I killed at least 10. I really like the amenities: free parking, free breakfast, the pool, and the gym. Parking was easy and convenient. Staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and Chris, from the breakfast crew, was outstanding.

Hopefully, they will have both working soon after this review. Despite this, I plan to return to this same hotel again.

Our room was very clean. The breakfast bar was good and clean. The staff did not deserve the restless folks making demands on them like the owned the place. We didn’t have anything negative about our check in and check out. Nice place to stay.

While it is very clean, good breakfast, comfortable beds, and great location Comfort Suites needs to be upgraded in the general areas -- paint peeling, rusty door frames on entrances from garage, heavy doors to balcony have had security hooks added because the door handles don't work. We were disappointed there was no sliding door to balcony so that we could hear the waves and the heavy balcony door was impossible to prop open with what was available.

The location was good. The price doesn’t fit the quality. The A/C unit in our room didn’t work well and it was 78 degrees in the room. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor everytime we showered. We couldn’t get into our room once we were given keys. The door wouldn’t work so maintenance had to be called in to fix the door so we had to go do something and wait for maintenance to come.

Unfortunately the rooms were not well cleaned, the staff was helpful. Doors to the back of the rooms were painted shut. There was mold in the bathrooms and it was so cramped and dark. Super outdated. Not what you see in the pictures. Alot of people's keys were not working and alot opted to just dot stat there despite being moved rooms 3 times. The keys were still not working.

Ice maker was out, laundry was slim had to ask for enough towels for booked guests. Right on the boardwalk and close to places to eat and shop. Parking garage was nice addition included with room. Would stay here again.

Oceanfront view from balcony was awesome. Enjoyed the location. Very convenient to restaurants. Liked that the bedroom was separate from the living area. Felt like an apt. Fairly spacious for 2 people. Bathroom toilet was a bit close to the wall. May not be ideal for a larger person. Not sure if that’s standard in all rooms and not sure if anything can be done, but a reconfiguration of the bathroom would be ideal. The bedroom space was a bit tight too but worked. We were on the 3rd floor, farthest from the elevator, so it was quiet until 7am. You can hear chairs moving upstairs in the dining area. Wasn’t awful but was a bit noisy in the early morning if that’s not your waking hours or you’re not a heavy sleeper. Overall, it was a decent stay and most importantly everything was clean.

Location was excellent. There is no indoor pool and the roof pool was out of order for part of the time we were there. Doors were hard to open and close. Need servicing. Our room was never service during the 4 days we stay ed there. The free water in the reception was always empty. Reseptionist and staff were welcoming. Breakfast employees were w derful, very attentive, helpful, and seen happy to be of service and enjoy their work.

This was a very nice place with ocean front view. The staff is really what made this stay. And the breakfast was great. Will stay again.

Reception was so friendly and welcoming. I especially got to work with Layanna and she made sure that our girls trip started off on the right foot. I also love that The hotel rooms, face the oceanfront and are right at the beach. I wish the beds were bigger, we had a room that had two double beds and we were so grateful that there was a pullout couch although the mattress in that has seen some years.

This was my first time staying at this Choice Hotel in Virginia Beach. While the hotel is older, the Choice brand experience was clear—from the parking and smooth check-in to a fantastic breakfast with plenty of options. My room faced the ocean and the boardwalk, which was a great view. I would definitely stay here again.

We were passing through the area and the weather was 40 degrees with the wind chill. Our stay was fine for only 1 night. The rooms are clean, but they could use some updates. Breakfast was good also. The bed was very comfortable and a good night’s sleep was the goal.

My stay at Comfort Suites Beachfront was very pleasant, and the staff provided excellent service throughout. The suite was well-maintained and offered a beautiful view. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the team ensured that all guests were well accommodated. The parking garage was also a valuable convenience, particularly during inclement weather.

The breakfast team was o so friendly and warm to my family and I.

The property was located near the outdoor stage, making it easier to see the performers without leaving the hotel.

Location and breakfast The bed had food crumbs in it. I asked for someone to come and remake it, no one ever came. There were only two towels in the room. The shower leaked terribly, and so the bathroom floor was very wet all the time. There was Dustin grime in the corners of the floor. The doors and walls were banged up and needed to be touched up with paint.. the paint and other surfaces on the balcony were corroded and had rust spots.

Not a bad spot on the beach! The breakfast staff were amazing and hilarious!

We didn’t have air conditioning in our room for 18 hours before we could be moved. The temperature was 85 in our room. They would not refund any of our money for the inconvenience.

Room was perfect, though the shower did leak on the floor quite a bit. View was spectacular. Breakfast was good, little more options like fruit or something would be nice but really no complaints. Staff were incredibly friendly. Will be back!

Love having the bedroom separate from the living room/ coffee bar area. The balcony looking over the broadwalk and ocean was perfect. Very comfortable and breakfast was good as we looked out at the ocean and relaxed.

The breakfast was excellent. The door to the beachfront balcony didn’t close and the refrigerator couldn’t accommodate my small pizza. Only big enough for snacks and beverages.

My vehicle was almost 6ft. I left at bottom where lady told me 2 park. N they called n said move. Also called my uncle n told him he was over the line at 9pm. The parking sucks.

Would def book again! Ocean view Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was great. The only downside was that the pool was closed and my kids were really looking forward to it. Nonetheless, our stay was Great.

Really nice oceanfront hotel to catch a beautiful sunrise, occasional dolphin sighting, or just a peaceful moment to yourself. The hotel room was clean, comfortable bed, great shower and again a beautiful view. The staff was great. A decent breakfast and the dining area also has great views of the beach.

I book a large queen suite but I didn’t get that. It was okay the room we had was good. The staff were good and very informative. Next go around I probably look for other hotel to stay next time.

The staff were friendly, and it was the best continental bfast I’ve ever had, but our room had roaches from the time we arrived and opened the pullout sofa bed. We would see some bugs, especially at night.

The breakfast fast was great. My husband and bf love that John made grits for them. The staff from the front fesk was also so helpful and friendly. The caterered to our needs especially since I get cold easily. I would recommend this hotel to anyone whos looking for a relaxed time. Will be back again.

The outside of the property was pretty dirty. The balcony, chairs, door, and window to the balcony were filthy. Room was clean aside from the flying huge roach in the room. There was a concert all day Saturday and Saturday night until 11:00 pm in the area right next to the hotel which was extremely loud and annoying. The breakfast was good. Great variety of foods to choose from! The breakfast attendant and the parking attendant were awesome.

The only problem we encountered is elevator waiting for almost 20-30 minutes before going up because another elevator is broken. They have the best breakfast that we enjoyed for 2 days.

In the past my husband and I have stayed at this location quite a few times. It had been about a year ago prior to this recent visit from Sept 15-17, 2025. The weather was not good with flooding in Virginia Beach of over 7 inches of rain and wind gust around 50 mph over those 3 days. But we will NEVER stay at this specific hotel again. We were assigned to room 310 on the 3rd floor due to the high winds. Usually we stay higher up. The conditions on the 3rd floor were horrible. The heavy rain was flooding the hallway and eventually the rain started leaking in our bedroom. I called to the front desk at the gentleman that was on duty eventually came up and brought a trash can to catch the water and was not apologetic of our inconvenience at all. I spoke the manager upon checkout to ask for some type of reimbursement towards our stay and she credited half of a night stay of $78 but I feel the company should reimburse our entire stay because there is mold on the 3rd floor where the rain was leaking through the hallway. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is extremely old and in need of much repair but it appears that as long as Comfort Suites can continue to book rooms without investing money in renovations to the building, it will remain in this horrible condition.

Loved the location and the staff was helpful. However, the condition of the property and especially the room left much to be desired. Black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Grim in the bathroom. Though you can control the temperature for periods at a time it automatically cuts off after two hours and your room warms up again. Again, location and staff are great. Oh, the breakers good as well.

Loved the location and the staff was helpful. However, the condition of the property and especially the room left much to be desired. Black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Grim in the bathroom. Though you can control the temperature for periods at a time it automatically cuts off after two hours and your room warms up again. Again, location and staff are great. Oh, the breakers good as well.

The view was amazing, but the hotel room was dated. The paint was peeling off the walls, windows were dirty, someone smoked in the room, there were burn holes in the furniture and stains from cigarettes on the counter. There was something stuck on the bedding and no staff to change it. The floor had gum stuck in the carpet and stains that let me know they never cleaned it.

Older hotel needed a lot of work. Shower leaked and phone did not work. One of the elevators not working. The best thing about it was the free breakfast.

I liked having a balcony and oceanview, but my first day there i had no hot water and what came out was rusty. There was food from the last visitors still on the floor and the shower had mold and mildew and the soap dish was rusty.

The ocean front view from our balcony was spectacular. Staff was very hospitable and welcoming. The area is perfect to access the boardwalk as well as local shops. There are so many great eateries within walking distance. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Breakfast offerings are wonderful, however due to limited kitchen capacity, not all items are available at the same time, plenty of eggs though. All in all, hotel is OK but needs improvements to qualify as a "hidden gem".

Free-breakfast was the best incentive during my stay. Check-in staff were unfriendly and my room was not ready upon check-in at 4pm. Hotel was down an elevator for the duration of the entire stay, made lengthily wait-times for the elevator. VERY noisy, do not stay here if you’re expecting a peaceful quiet stay. We had a 1 year old in the room and between the nearby air force training facility and the concerts being played everyday all day it was unbearably loud. The entire hotel could use some TLC and repairs as it was run down. The parking garage was a tight nightmare. Would not stay here again.

Hotel needs major updating. Only one elevator operational. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and breakfast staff was great! But they need better ovens etc. to accommodate the volume. Seems like management/corporate has given up ….. which is a shame

Staff were courteous, however we never received towels that were requested until the next day when we asked for them again. Facility did not meet or even reach our expectations! Expedia you must update your app, so other people are not as disappointed as we were! Overall we love Virginia Beach! We have vacationed there for more than 15 years!!!

The room was a bit small but comfortable and clean. The view of the beach was incredible. The full breakfast had amazing selections and the staff was incredible, especially Chris!! The only down side was the hotel only had one working elevator for guests and the stairwell lighting was dim.

Only complaint was that there were only 2 elevators and only one worked which as we all know things happen and it was out of staffs control and you just deal with. Took significant time getting from floor to floor during prime times but because staff was amazing it was worth the wait. Breakfast was good and staff there also was amazing! Definitely would recommend for the $. Location as well was great and convenient to local shops and eateries.

The room itself was nice clean and comfortable. The biggest issue is our balcony door wouldn’t close. We called maintenance. They came and slammed it shut but then even my husband couldn’t open it. They changed the knob and it kind of worked but multiple times it got stuck open or it was shut and I got stuck on the balcony. The breakfast crew was very nice and friendly but They couldn’t keep up with the food demand and multiple times they were out of multiple items ( bacon sausage biscuits pancakes). So we had to wait but when food was refilled the lines were LONG. The variation of meals every day wasnt great and I ended up eating the same thing almost every day. The food itself was okay. The pool was in good shape and clean. Parking was easy and accessible. Location was great.

We enjoyed our stay and did not move the car. We were in the heart of everything and walked to our destinations. I love the fact that the room had a separate living room area with a fridge and microwave. We will be back!

Check in process made me question the reviews I read. It was slow no one greeted us. However once we got started it was better. The room was spacious there were 2 balconies plenty of room to spread out. Breakfast was basic hotel fare. No gluten free options. The ocean view from the balcony made it all worth it

The elevator was a nightmare needs so major repairs! Sometimes had to wait up to 10 minutes!! Staff was great and very helpful!

The location wa spretty good but they REALLY should have mentioned the international festival NEXT DOOR while we were booking. Though a external festival is beyond the hotel's control (maybe) we shoudl have been told.

Great location right on the beach. Poor service. We stayed 6 days without any housekeeping service even though we requested housekeeping services twice and they assured us service would be sent to our room but housekeeping never came to our room.

This hotel is in a great location. It's sitting on the beach with stores and restaurants on the other side. Everything thing is in walking distance. The staff was nice, and friendly. What really makes this hotel different from the others is the father, and daughter duo preparing the breakfast every morning. This guy is full of life, and does his job very well along with his daughter by his side. I've never experienced a breakfast like this at any other hotel. They also have an outdoor lighted pool on the fourth floor which is conveniently located across from the breakfast room. A covered garage to park your vehicle in. I will most definitely be staying here again if and when I travel back to Virginia Beach.

The hotel looks nothing like pictures. Overall it's dumpy and obviously has been neglected for years. Furniture was old and in poor condition. There was junk scattered around the site. Most ice machines didn’t work. Water covered the floor after a shower. Breakfast area looked nothing like the picture. The area looked old and dumpy and food selections were not near as plentiful and appealing as the pictures. The pool area was pathetic. What looked like old tiki huts were sitting around the pool area that haven’t been functional in probably years. It’s an overpriced dump.

This location is awesome but the customer service is even better! If the lady at the front desk and the man in charge of breakfast leave, I'd have to look for a new spot. It makes a big difference when the staff cares. Where else can you show up to continental breakfast 30 minutes before it closes and be brought HOT food? I've been staying here since 2018 and have never seen bugs...also VERY important to me.

The property is older hit the best thing about the hotel is the staff! they’re amazing & friendly, they try their best to accommodate needs. the only “negative” review i have is that they could pay more attention to detail with cleaning pull out bed from couch. ours had crumbs & trash when pulled out. we went over to walgreens to get disinfectant spray to sanitize couch & mattress before sleeping on it & used towels to get out crumbs. chris & vicki from the breakfast bar are also amazing!!! the staff make this place enjoyable.

The hotel is older and doesn't match the pictures. The room was clean and the service was great. The first floor rooms were definitely older and in worst condition compared to the upper floors. The pool seemed okay. We did not use because it was full. Keep in mind this is a 2 star hotel. Water was leaking underneath our shower door. The door to the balcony was broken and needed repair and replacement but lockable. We mostly may not repeat. We normally stay at other named hotels.

The property was nice. The views were pretty. But it is a little run down. Most things were in walking distance. The room was clean but it definitely had an old smell to it. Some of the ice machines were not in service. The laundry room was convenient, especially to wash my bathing suit. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was super friendly and upbeat. However, it did take time for some of the food items to be restocked. So, there was a wait but it was worth it. The garage parking is nice. But there was a fence on the backside that cut my boyfriend’s shorts open. The fence needs to be repaired. Overall, it wasn’t a bad place. But I think they can lower their prices a bit.

My family had an amazing time the breakfast was great the cook and all the staff was amazing, I can’t remember the ladies name at the front desk but she was always a big help and she was very nice.

Very outdated room sheets were not clean they had stains on them. and the free breakfast wasn’t really that good. But the cooks were very friendly they kept the place clean. Parking was good and convenient. I was there for the Fourth of July the fireworks were right in front of the building nice touch.

Came here for 4 day trip on the 4th of July Pro: the location is amazing and the bed in our room was nice overall nice little room with a view, The bathroom shower wasn’t cleaned saw left over soap gel stains all over the shower, the shower also leaks so the floor floods I called front desk which proceeded to tell me to face the shower head towards the wall…. That didn’t work I literally had to get 6 towels roll them up and line the whole shower floor then more towels on the floor so the room wouldn’t flood!!!…. Now onto I was in the elevator and got trapped inside, I tried to call front desk no one answered, I tried the 911 call button and guess what? It doesn’t even work we were stuck for a good 10 mins until my husband and I used our fingers to pry open the doors of the elevator, when we notified staff they said “oh it’s been like that since last week we had water damage from the storm” yet you still let ppl use it? I was trapped in there with no air on a 82 degree weather, didn’t apologize nothing I have medical problems I could have died…. Breakfast was a joke, no air conditioning again was told it’s been down and not working so you have ppl crammed in a room with no windows, hot food being made people just sweating And the cherry on top my car gets damaged in the parking lot I asked for video manager told me to call the police it’ll be faster I paid roughly 1,400$ for this?! I’m Upset with the lack of safety or concern worse booking ever

I enjoyed my time at this property for the most part, but had I not had the room that I did, I feel that my time would have been miserable. The elevators are SLOW- like wait 15 minutes to catch one slow. I was on the second floor so I used the stairs. The free breakfast is decent, but one of the female staff in the kitchen area is RUDE. The older gentleman that works in the kitchen area is so outgoing and friendly. His energy can literally make your morning. Housekeeping wasn’t great. I put towels and garbage outside of my door that stayed there for 2 days. The front desk isn’t helpful. Check in took 20 mins, when housekeeping was MIA, they never brought me new towels so I had to down twice throughout my week stay to get my own new towels.

Bathtub looked like it wasn’t clean the balcony had spilled liquid all over it just wasn’t a very clean place I could only take 1 shower while I was there because everything in the bathroom wasn’t very clean, Virginia Beach was beautiful but not the motel wasn’t worth what I paid our towels were not replaced we had to get them at the front desk if we needed them.

The shower had mold in it. I had to go to 4 different floors to find ice. The place could use a renovation. The customer service was good. I wouldn't return.

We loved our stay here! The staff was kind, the room was clean and spacious for a fun beach trip with the family! We loved our breakfast options and breakfast servers sis maxing! You can lookout on the beach from the breakfast room. Beach is right below walking distance. Such a fun and nice place to stay on the beachfront!!!

The furnishings in the room were worn and it didn't feel completely clean. There was a squashed bug on the wall. The breakfast buffet was not good. The eggs were visibly undercooked and so we're the sausage patties. The pre-made pancakes were cold.

Very nice room, great view of the beach. Excellent breakfast and staff. One miss is working ice machines and vending machines, but there is a Walgreens across the street. Would stay there again.
