This was a surprisingly nice place to stay, we weren’t expecting much but the room was great - nice and spacious, clean and a nice little mini lounge. Checking in was smooth & easy, and overall good value.

We recently stayed at this Comfort Inn for two nights. Overall the property was pretty good but the attention to detail was lacking. To be fair, I was a hotel general manager for 15 years and I managed 2 Comfort Inn properties so I might be a little over critical. The room was pretty good but the previous maintenance patches were very visible. A chair had been used as a scratching post and was never repaired or replaced. That same chair had a cup lid down inside the cushion from a previous guest. The bed linen appeared to be in good condition. The bath linens were older and too few for two guests. I have never seen the type of shampoo and conditioner dispensers and They seemed cheap. The breakfast area was too small for the size of the property but the items were replenished in a timely matter. The overall appearance of the property was pretty good but my critical eye picked up many maintenence needed items. Give this property a try, the value for the rate was ok.

Was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was good and seemed fresh. Rooms clean. Did have one towel that seemed to be stained, but all in all good. Not sure if it is the scent of the cleaner or what but there was a constant aroma of what seemed to be Marijuana in the hall way. We did not smell it in our room however. All an all I would return and enjoyed the stay. 4 out of 5 stars.

The breakfast was poor at best

The room was clean enough I guess. Definitely could have been better. The door between the living room and bedroom had a door handle but no bolt so the door couldn't be closed. The shower curtain rod was falling off the wall and they filled the gap with silicone, the beds had very lumpy mattress pads on them and the mattresses were very stained. We were only given 3 sets of towels for a room that sleeps 6. The pool was never open so we didn't get to use it. The common areas werent the cleanest. Breakfast was good. We were only there for 1 night so it wasn't a big deal, but traveling with our 4 kids we booked the hotel for specific things (like the pool) so that was pretty disappointing.

Fire alarm went off and took a long time to get resolved.

This is our fourth time staying and it was very different than our previous stay. The location I always great and close to everything we are doing such as the beach, zoo, ODU, and military base (farthest we had to travel). Most staff are pleasant and the rooms are spacious. Pool for the kids the relax in at the end of the day. This visit we had an extremely rude front desk person who was filling out. We spoke with two managers and one was able to handle some concerns immediately and the GM handling the other when staff returns. Our original room had roaches, which exterminators were contacted for and it also had a bad smell to it. We have never seen bugs in our previous stays. Our room was switched due to this issue and there was no bugs or odor in the other room. We also had an issue with trying to get our room cleaned from the room employee, who hung up on me twice and an absolute nightmare to deal with. However, the MOD that day David handles everything for us. Once the GM returned on our checkout day she handled everything else. Thanks David and Dana for your courtesy and help. It really recovered my view of the hotel.

Overall, good budget hotel. Rooms were a little worn. Hotel staff also were unable to find my booking when I arrived.

Sink was backed up….. drained very slowly. Gunk floating back into the sink. No assistance in getting it resolved. I even asked for a plunger and cleaning product to take care of the problem myself but to no avail. No discount or refund offered. My wife was especially not happy at all….

I liked that our bathroom was big and had a shower chair even though I didn't stay long enough to use it. Our TV had it set on Spanish on some stations and the staff member couldn't fix it but eventually my boyfriend was able to figure it out. The toilet did run a bit if you didn't move the handle back. It was a comfortable bed and the breakfast was good. I wish I could have stayed longer although I didn't know about the 100 hold on my card until I checked in. I hope I get it back soon.

But I received a tore up shower curtain. This property can do much better. I’ve never stayed somewhere like this. Not sure if it was just the room that I had or the floor level I was on as soon as you got off had a terrible odor. Definitely nothing like the photos. It was an inexpensive place to stay but definitely will never go back.

Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, but they need to have curtains that can be closed, otherwise you are up with the sun. Building is older and has some maintenance issues. Breakfast was okay with some hot items. Friendly staff, but it took three tries to program the keys. Convenient to the airport and place felt safe enough. Fine for a single night.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Front desk staff was extremely helpful when my travel plans changed unexpectedly and they worked diligently to accommodate me. No vending on 5th floor despite the map on the back of the door indicating that the vending/ice machine were on the 5th floor. It was fine for a night.

The breakfast was the usual sausage, eggs, and waffles. It was good and the coffee was fresh. The room clean but you can tell some upgrading is needed. Some of the caulk in the tub had mold on it. But for the price, it was ok. They cleaning staff was very nice!

My stat was great, and the staff was very helpful. The only concern I had was the hair dryer didn’t work, but it was something very minor. I was able to get breakfast in the morning, which was very convenient.

This is my second time staying here. The room was clean. The property is located near many fast food restaurants. Also close to the outlets.

I reserved this hotel because of the indoor pool, continental and the reviews gave it an 8.0. When i arrived i was told the pool was closed and then 15min later i was told the pool was open. The room was smaller than it looked in the pictures, the wifi wouldn't work, the air conditioner didnt work very well and the bed looked somewhat worn out. Then we took our kids down to the "open" pool and when we opened the door the chlorine would smack ypu in the face and after about 10min my kids got out saying there eyes were burning and my youngest said her tongue was burning and my eyes were very irritated to. So we got out the next day it seemed to have settled some but again we had to get out after about 10min. We tried again the next day but still the same. The day we checked out as we passed the pool door there was a sign on the door from the health department saying the pool was closed due to not having a certified pool operator and the chlorine level being very high and it was dated for the same day that we checked in. I talked to the manager and she stated that the sign had just been put up but i stated that the date on it was for the day that i checked in and she really didnt say much after that she just blamed it in other reason. So needless to say i wouldnt recommend staying here

We were there for the weekend, Friday and Saturday nights. The property was older, weathered, looks like it has not been refreshed in a while. The 2 queen room we got was really laid out strangely, with a queen bed turned sideways in the first room against a wall. Not a major problem as there were only 3 of us that weekend. Only one chair in the entire place, the desk chair and it was wobbly. no place to sit and relax together. The first morning the breakfast was satisfactory but there were several little things missing (the second day breakfast was not as good as the first, but I won't bore you with that. the first night was fine but when I walked to get ice in the morning, the fourth floor area in front of the ice machine was flooded (I reported it to housekeeping, the didn't understand and I reported to the front desk - it was still flooded when we left 10:30 am Sunday). Saturday night we returned back to doors slamming and loud music on the 4th floor. I tried to call down to the front desk but the room phone did not work! So at 10pm, I walked down to report the loud music to the front desk. I also told the clerk of the slamming doors and people running thru the stairs and hallways. She spent the next 20 minutes watching the video cameras. Because my daughter wanted to try to sleep (it was 10:30pm by now) I went on my own and got the people to cut down the noise. I returned to the clerk to tell her and tell her I also knew the problem of the running and slamming - NOT GOOD

Room was terrible. Smelled like smoke and mold, missing lamp shades, holes in window screens and no hot water. I asked for a refund and left staff was very kind almost like it was a normal thing and for $329 for two days I would not recommend this property

Nothing was great and some things struggled to be good. Expedia changed my reservation without telling me. Removed a whole bed from my room.

I checked into the room, the wifi didn’t work. Which made the tv not work. I called to get it fixed and they just told me the Roku TVs don’t work there… So why have a Roku TV?? Then the ac was broken in the room so it was just blasting all night uncomfortably. The door to the bathroom was broken so it didn’t lock or even shut properly. The following morning I requested a late check out, which was approved. However, the cleaners clearly didn’t get the memo because they came and knocked on my door every 30mins after 9am until I was ready to check out at 12. I will not be staying at this hotel again, and no I do not and will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room was in okay condition; it was clean and tidy- although did find lots of trash/used towels under the/behind the couch and bathroom sink. Staff was very kind and the "complimentary" breakfast served was delightful, one of the best I've had at a hotel. Overall, not bad just needs to be cleaned a bit better.

Location Our room had two beds one bed had three pillows on it the other had four, upon checkout they said we stole one pillow and charged us $50 for a pillow they didn’t give us. I would think twice before staying at another one of there places. Like who is gonna steal a pillow

staff was friendly and welcoming. They responded quickly to requests like shuttle to airport or more blankets. Breakfast had a variety of options. Facility needs a face lift. painting was happening in the hallways. Had an odd smell in the main hallways. . Sink in bathroom in room did not drain unless you removed the drain plug. Remote control buttons were very sticky and difficult to use. Remote seemed clean, but difficult to control volume or choose from the guide. I could look on the guide but then needed to exit out of it and punch in numbers to actually change the channel. Frustrating. Post card on desk was a flash from the past - I like this bonus. Shuttle driver was nice. Ride was a little rough, but I believe it was the van not the driver.

Room needs an upgrade. Shower head is rusted. Window curtains are sunburned. Need to be changed. Furniture outdated. No apps available on TV, blood found on bedroom door. Did a wipe down when entered room. Closets, cabinets were not thoroughly cleaned/dusted. No antibacterial liquid soap available to wash hands .

The rooms have a nice layout (booked a 2 bedroom queen) and it was a pleasant surprise that they are not right next to each other, but rather one bed in a bedroom and one in the living room area. There is no couch because of this, but its nice to have that privacy element. It was January when I was there and the windows let ALOT of cold air in. The first night I was freezing because of this. The next night, I turned the heat up a lot more and was more comfortable. It served the purpose for my visit to Norfolk and it had a lot of things within walking distance (starbucks, Jersey Mikes, Krispy Kreme). Not bad at all.

Rooms need some updating. One bed was squeaky every time you mad the least movement and was in need of a new mattress. The sofa beds mattress was so thin you could feel the springs. We had to put the bedding on the sofa to sleep on.

I consider myself a frequent flyer because this was my 6th or 7th time staying here. Why? Location location location. It's close to restaurants and a freeway entrance. It's an older building (or appears to be) but it's well maintained and the staff is always nice... especially Brianna who I've developed an excellent rapport with because she seems to always be at work 😀

Early flight. Can't comment on breakfast. However, location to airport was less than 10 minutes, and although hotel is a bit dated, bed was comfy and plenty of towels. Check-in was great and very pleasant agent.

Early flight. Can't comment on breakfast. However, location to airport was less than 10 minutes, and although hotel is a bit dated, bed was comfy and plenty of towels. Check-in was great and very pleasant agent.

The room was old . Ripped up couch . You walked into the room and it smelled like cigarettes and old carpet. I feel like if you’re advertising a suite then it needs to be up to par. I understand it’s a older hotel, but there needs to be some renovations within the room. If not then why price it as such

We checked in on a Sunday and stayed until Friday morning. Our room was never touched by a cleaning service the whole week. The elevator button on the top floor was not installed for over 24 hours. The secondary door coming in from the outside to get to the elevator did not have a knob to gain access to the elevator for a whole day. The hallways smelled like second and hand pot smoke. The breakfast was good.

Overall great stay. The downside that the pool was down for “cleaning” and I didn’t see anyone cleaning the pool when I wanted to use it. But overall great!

My stay was satisfactory. The staff members were very nice. However, the mattress was extremely lumpy. I recommend replacing the mattress and removing the carpet, as it did not look clean. Updating the rooms would also be a good idea. If updates are not feasible, consider replacing the mattress and installing new flooring instead of carpet.

While the property looks very nice and modern, the staff was very nice but they have roaches in the rooms.

Breakfast options were different everyday. Hotel was very clean, staff was friendly, and very close to the airport. The location was convenient as well. I would stay again.

Felt very safe traveling Solo. Great area...walked to a nearby sports bar for happy hour. Room super clean and hotel room was quiet! Walls thick enough to sleep through the night.

The person that are all very nice just the room was pretty disgusting. The curtains were insufficient to block street light carpet was stained , bathroom sink cracked room needs to be gutted and redone. Furniture needs to be thrown out and replaced.

The room was a handicap accessible room because I wanted to take a soaking bath. That did not happen. The tub was not a standard size but shorter and when my husband took a shower the water filled up the tub. Slow drainage. The TV did not work either. The cost for all that was ridiculous. Service at the front desk, excellent. Will not be staying there again. One word for you...UPGRADES.

Staff were pleasant and as helpful as they could be. I like that they demonstrated a sense of community and taking care of those in the most need. The hotel furnishings are old, torn, and some are coming apart. The vinyl seat of the office chair in my room was faded, flaking vinyl, ripped, and left black residue on my pants. I had to keep a towel on the seat. I've stayed at this hotel two other times because it's close to the airport, convenient to the outlet stores, has a decent breakfast, and is affordable for business travel. The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint or a good washing.

When we arrived at the hotel, I waited for about half an hour or maybe more because there was no staff at the reception. The water drainage in the bathtub was very bad. Other than that, the hotel is nice and close to the airport.

The employees there are absolutely amazing and they go above and beyond And they tried to accompany the guest to the best of their ability.

Property was great. Clean and well kept. Only bad thing was the Fire Station next door stayed pretty busy all night.

Front desk attendant and staff were all really pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located near the outlets and plenty of restaurants. The room was a little outdated. My only real complaint would have to be that the breakfast area is pretty small so it got pretty congested. There were people everywhere trying to get their breakfast and some overflowed into the lobby to find seating.

For the price I paid, this property was ok. It was old and dated, the door to the room refused to shut without a lot of effort, the tv didn’t work despite doing the same thing we did for the other tv. And for a room that size, there was only 1 chair to sit in other than on the bed and it tipped backward when you sat in it. The bed was comfortable and the area was quiet for the most part. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at!Starting from my arrival to departure. When I arrived one of the guys had a very none approachable attitude,I spoke he didn’t speak back. Got checked in to my room and noticed that the appearance wasn’t like it is online. It was staining on the ceilings and staining on one of the bed sheets, I’m not sure what type of staining it was but to me it looked like old blood stains which instantly grossed me out! I inform the front desk and they moved me into another room and omg the room had the worst smell ever! It smelled like urine and once again the ceilings was stained, walls was stained and dirty, carpet was nasty and one the beds had a sour smell to it therefore the bed was never used do to the smell, the next day one of the the housekeepers came and change only the sheets but never came back to replace the bed comforter therefore that night I had to go and asked the front desk for covering because the housekeeper never came back. The furniture is old and dingy look kind of worn out but judging off the front desk and lobby area you will not think that the rooms look and smell the way that they do. Also, there were big bugs on the floor over by the pool area. The back bed was never used because of the sour stench smell so thats a waste of money. Lastly I had an early flight to catch and nobody was at the desk to check me out I had to leave the key on the counter. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place I’m happy to be out of there!

We went for football trip got there had to wait 20 minutes because the room I booked a month in advance wasn't ready the bed room had a horribly patched whole in bedroom door, could'nt take a shower because the tub kept backing up, then reported on Friday they said they would send maintenance sat morning no one never came me my husband and 3 boys couldn't take a shower for two days and they only offered to reimburse me 1 night

Everytime I stay, however, there's something wrong. This time the hotel had no towels...2 days in a row. Really? How does a hotel run out of towels? This was unacceptable because there's an indoor pool! Speaking of the pool, there was too much chlorine! The kids eyes were burning and their skin itching after 10 minutes. The solution was to shower, but no extra towels...remember? Ridiculous! Two visits before this, the pool was closed. Another visit, the issue was no internet. Seriously?! GET IT TOGETHER

There was blood splattered all over the wall the comforters and bed skirts were covered in white stains more than likely bodily stains gross tryed to change rooms but the staff wouldn’t clean it or swap rooms saying we have other rooms but people have not checked into them yet so your stuck with this room yet would not clean our room gross avoid at all cost

The property was good. Check in was super easy Hotel room looked clean, the breakfast options in the morning were pretty good considering the price point of the room. I liked that the Starbucks was within a 1 minute walk also Jersey Mikes, across the street you can find many more dining options. Overall the property was okay depending on your needs and budget the beach is a little to far for my taste.

Stayed for 2 nights solo and it was amazing. Felt very safe, staff was so friendly and welcoming, and I loved the ease of access to several restaurants around town.

The staff was very nice and helpful but the place is very shabby compared to others in the same price group. The first room smelled bad and the TV was broken. The elavator was slow and creaky. Room was large, however, if that is impt to you.

Everything was good until we went to breakfast. We came in as breakfast was ending and the lady on service started cleaning when we were done getting our food. My problem was watching her clean. She wiped down the counters and machine's with the same dirty towel and then proceeded to blow on the waffle maker to get rid of the crumbs. Watching her blow on it after my family had sat down to eat waffles made us all stop and stare. Blowing spreads germs! With flu and covid still lingering, seeing that made us all throw our food away. Please teach you staff a proper way to clean counters, tables and equipment.

It was a nice room and very roomy. I should've chosen bigger beds and as a short person it was a challenge getting into the bed. The breakfast was pretty good. I thought the waffles were cute. The only thing is there could be a light in the shower as there was only lights over the sink. Everything else seemed fine.

When we checked out the next morning, as soon as I gave the room numbers, the person at the desk (not the same as the night before) apologized once again for the inconvenience. I commend the staff for the professional way they handled the situation. We were in town for my daughter's graduation, and the staff helped make the weekend truly wonderful all the way around.

Property was clean, but needed work done. Sink was cracked and replastered poorly, hole was burned in light fixture. Entire stay, 3rd floor smelled like weed. Staff was friendly and provided more towels when asked.

Check in and out staff was polite and helpful. On the other hand the hotel facilities are not in good condition, the elevator and the room was dirty, mold on tub walls and dust everywhere. But the moat disturbing was the bed bugs. Left bitten and itching. Will not return.

The room could have been cleaner. Couch was stained with crumbs on it. Refrigerator handle was sticky and the headboard had some kind of greasy substance on it. The hotel was close to the airport, so it was tolerable for one night.
