Front Desk Ebony was amazing but when asked for a late check out for us the property manager was so nice about it. I loved ebony she was great her hospitality was wonderful and she was phenomenal give her a raise. Thank Ebony for everything.

Smell wise won’t great , only one elevator that takes forever . Towels not that clean had stains don’t use ! Bed uncomfortable! Rust on lampstand. Curtains do not close , the sun will wake you up. Tv is really small! Discoloration on the shower wall.

I wasn't expecting the amenities that came with the room. It made me want to stay an extra day just because. I definitely will be staying Candellwood in Virginia Beach again. Everything was excellent

The shower was falling off and the temperature dial was backwards. There was blood found on our sheets and a pillow! The staff were freiiendly and quick to correct.

The location and how they had all the dishes and pots already in unit, I didnt have to call and ask for anything. Everything was good. Quick stay over. Loud running g walking and work in suites above us both nights. Like 11pm till 3am both nights.

I loved th welcoming environment and the staff. Dontrell was an excellebt guide and on of the nicest young men I have ever met. The bed was uncomfortable.

The rooms are old and dated. The floors were dirty in both the kitchen and bathroom. The beds were very hard. I don’t think there’s any soundproofing as we heard EVERYTHING. The entire hotel had an odd smell and our room smelled of cigarette smoke especially when the extremely loud bathroom fan was on. This place needs some serious work. The staff was all very friendly but that’s about all they have going for them. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The particular day, the boiler was making nose the whole time I was there, I had to request my money back. Super loud noise, very disappointed. Like I said the boiler thing was going off, didn't like thr stay at all. From my understanding there was nothing to be done about it.

Breakfast was not included but a lot of restaurants were nearby. The tenants above us made a lot of noice and stepped hard that we could hear them below.

Comfortable bed, hot shower and orville redenbscher in the microwave. What more does one need? Better lighting in the dog area. Felt a little nervous out there in the dark.

The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. I loved that the rooms have Dove products instead of some no name crummy product. However the mattress was really bad - squeaky and not comfortable for my back.

The rooms are really dated, need some TLC but we do love staying at Candlewood Suites. All of our stays so far, the staff were so pleasant and went over and above. I would recommend Candlewood Suites, just know that it is not pristine, but it is comfortable. The room we were in was on the first floor, there were people above us that sounded like they were rearranging the room, jumping and being very loud. This went on until around 12:00 midnight and started up again about 5:30 a.m. Got about 5 and 1/2 hrs of sleep. The front desk was very concerned and apologized.

That said, the property itself is in serious need of renovation. The furniture, flooring, and fixtures feel outdated and worn, and some areas of the hotel could use a deep cleaning. It’s clear that maintenance and updates haven’t kept pace with what guests expect from an IHG property. One odd and inconvenient policy: basic kitchen appliances like toasters and blenders are locked up in the lobby, and you have to check them out. For an extended-stay hotel, where guests rely on those amenities, that’s a hassle and not guest-friendly. If IHG invests in much-needed upgrades and refreshes the space, this hotel has the potential to be a great option—especially with such an excellent staff already in place. But until then, expect great service paired with a less-than-ideal facility.

I thought the staff was really quite nice and helpful. Property was a good good standings and I didn’t like the way the door is when you come in with your luggage I thought it should’ve been in the middle with the bigger door other than that everything was really nice.

We stayed because my daughter had a competition. No one contacted me to tell me there had obviously been some water damage to the hotel. Industrial fans were everywhere. It smelled horrible. People beside us argued late into the night. Was supposed to have a Queen bed. Had a double. Road noise was awful. We had a horrible night sleep. Fans were super load in the hallway. It was have been nice to know prior to arriving to a non-refundable hotel. This made it to where we had to stay.

The staff were very friendly. However the building itself is old. They do keep it clean but u can see the grout and silicon trim coming up, in bathrooms can see rust along the tub and floorboards. Paint looks very old and chipping along the door trims. Not what i expect for a candlewood suite.

This was a last minute trip and for the rate, it was not worth it. No restaurant in the hotel and location is ackward to walk to any place. Rooms were runed down and snack area was very low on items. No milk for coffee, etc.

I’ve been to the Candlewood Suites several times. I’ve enjoyed my stay each time. I like that there was a kitchen in my suite so I didn’t need to keep my food in a cooler n ice. I will be going back again next year.

After out-patient surgery the hotel arranged for us to have an early checkin. The suite was great with the kitchen being fully stocked with dishes. They either don’t provide breakfast or my husband couldn’t find it. We brought instant oatmeal with us, so it wasn’t a necessity, but a muffin or some fruit would have been great to have, also.

Older hotel, elevator very slow. AC/Heat unit didn’t cool well and it was cold when we stayed and didn’t cool very well. You would be in trouble in the summer. We stayed 2 nights and your room isn’t cleaned unless your there for extended stay. Have to ask for clean towels daily. Staff friendly and good location.

Finally a nice clean , quiet hotel . I didn’t have to worry about getting bit up by any bed bugs nor did I see any roaches . Only thing I will say is they should specify their holding fee they have once you get there other than that I was satisfied

It was very helpful for the time we needed it. Had what we needed to be comfortable. It was decent and basically clean. Not the cleanest but not dirty if that makes sense. The trolleys were falling apart and the rooms looked like they needed updating. The carpets could use a good deep cleaning or replacing overall tho it was helpful and convenient

Our room was across from the trash room. Between 5 and 7 am numerous people would drop their trash and let the door slam. Every morning we were awakened by slamming doors.

I loved how clean the property was! It was a quiet and safe space. My boyfriend and I stayed there for one night and it was just perfect! It is also less than 20 min from the airport so the convenience was great! If you wanted to do your laundry or eat in the room- they provided you with a laundry basket and Utensils/plates/cups. Worth the stay!

Strong “weird” odor throughout the facility to includes hallways and rooms, one rooms fire alarm came on when the heat was turned on. Booked a room with 1 king bed. Both rooms had 2 smalls beds. Was told this was due to my last minute reservation though my “last minute reservation” was booked based on hotel availability.

Really nice staff, easy walk to town center where there are lots of restaurants and bars. Love having that pantry when i just want to nuke sonething and stay in. What i like most is the big workspace with tons of room.

We booked through Expedia. When we got to the hotel to check in, the front desk clerk was horribly rude, did not even look up our names for confirmation, told us they did not have rooms available & she could not help us. It was 12:00 am, we were 4 hours away from home. When asked if I could use the restroom at least, was told it was not working. Then when I went back out to my car to get phone to show her our confirmation, she wouldn't let me back in and was told if we didn't leave, she would call police. When my friend's mom called the hotel to find out what was going on since we had paid for 2 nights, the same lady was very rude to her, told her she would block her # if she called back. We ended up driving 4 hours home in the middle of the night. Horrible experience & the lack of customer service was horrific.

Great hotel - I should’ve known a kitchenette meant no breakfast - but hey I guess that’s Hilton that’ll provide both.

The bathroom was spacious and had a great shower. The kitchenette was well-stocked with everything I needed to cook a meal or heat up leftovers. The hotel was located in a convenient area, close to restaurants, shops, and attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable. Overall, I had a great experience at the Candlewood Hotel in Virginia Beach and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you so much.

This day was okay it was very cold in her room the air conditioner thing did not work to turn off so the fan on the wall continuously ran and so cold air blew all night we were freezing. And my friend's key did not work also the Pantry was overpriced

Arrived and no one was around to check us in. We waited for almost an hour then left and came back. Still had to wait. So tired after a long drive and couldnt check in. The hotel should have more than one employee on staff at all times. Other than that the stay was fine. The employees were nice.

I have stayed at this Candlewood Suites many times and have always found the staff to be very helpful.

Checking in was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life. The room was alright, nothing to write home about, but there was this terrible smell of old Chinese food in the room. Also from a security standpoint, I’d give this place a huge F! The door that’s supposed to be secured for guests by key card, could just be easily opened by anyone and I didn’t feel safe at all knowing that. Overall, this was the last time I stay at any Candlewood Suites. Every time is a bad time

The cons for this property were a few things. It was a little bit more seedy then it looks online. The cleanliness wasn’t great when I moved anything on the countertops in the bathroom or in the room. You can tell that it is always cleaned around. The shower drain did not work properly so anytime I took a shower I had to cut it short because the water would backfill into the tub, leaving me standing in water, not too sanitary. Granted I could have mentioned this to the office, but I did not want to go through the trouble of moving rooms. The last thing that I was not a big fan of is every hallway of the entire property smelt so strongly of carpet perfume, I assume it is the powder that they sprinkle on the carpet to vacuum to give a nice fragrance but I still have that smell in my nose three days after leaving that property it was extremely strong.

I just used the room to sleep since I only came for a short trip to visit my niece in the hospital. It was comfortable and big.

I have stayed here several times and always have a positive experience. The rooms and common areas are clean, the kitchen area in the room is excellent, and the staff is helpful.
