The room was dirty smells very bad it had a lot of flies inside the room when we got there , it didn’t have the alarm system on it overall i was very disappointed about it never going back to this places again .

The staff are always very nice and welcoming. They're always willing to provide things you need like extra toilet paper, towels, a mop, etc. The air conditioner didn't really work it just blew out room temperature air no matter what temp it was set to. Also, the TV remote provided to work the TV, change the volume, input etc wasn't the correct remote so you couldn't change the volume or change the input to set up a gaming system of anything like that. Also the water pressure for the shower and sink was pretty weak

Ac broken, room way too hot, room way too loud. Bed was legit a rock. Sheets were itchy. Pillows there were only 3. No hot water for shower. Hand soap for bodywash and shampoo. Mold everywhere in shower. Avoid at all costs.

Once the parking lot got full it was nowhere to park . I walked to the office at 4am to ask was there more parking and was told “down the street “ drove around for 2 hours could not find parking so couldn’t sleep in hotel for the rest of night because I couldn’t find parking to park my vehicle without getting it towed so money well wasted

Location Looked like nothing had been cleaned since 3 stays ago. There was dirt everywhere. The bathtub had several cockroaches. The towels were dirty. The room had a foul odor. The bed sheets hadn’t been washed and were stained. The tv remote didn’t work to turn the tv on or change the volume. The thermostat was broken. Judging based on the lack of care for the place, we didn’t even want to say anything in fear of employees getting upset and making our time worse than it was.

The location and the fact that it has two beds and a full kitchen is helpful The place was incredibly dirty and smelled like cigarettes. Walls are crazy thin. Front desk person came and greeted me in bare feet.

I loved that it was close to the beach , it was a quick walk and convenient for shopping and food! Also there was an extra room !! There were roaches in my room , the toilet seat top was broken , and there was no TV or ac in the back room. Not many outlets to charge things for my kids devices.

The broken window, the ac not working, the smoke alarm beeping every 5 minutes. I was also charged $20 for parking.

No breakfast or coffee offered. Proprietor appears unaware of the reality in his rooms. He made a couple of statements which turned out to be untrue (phone working/not working). He also told me when I asked after my first night that the second would be $85 and he made me give him back the key. So when I returned later the price went up to $100. Coffee, breakfast. A proprietor good as his first word.

I HAD ALREADY BOOKED 2 ADDITIONAL STAYS BUT CANCELED DUE TO THE ROACH INFESTATION THIS IS SAD THIS PLACE COULD BE SO MUCH NICER IF THEY WOULD CLEAN THE ROOMS THE FLOORS WERE DIRTY DEAD SQUISHED ROACHES DUST ALL OVER THE WOOD/BEDS. SECURING THE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS I DID NOT THINK THIS COULD BE LEGAL WITH OUTLETS HANGING OPEN BRING YOUR ROACH SPRAY BRING YOUR OWN SOAP NONE OF THE DISPENSERS HAD SOAP IN THEM ALL 3! BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS EVERY TOWEL HAD BROW. STREAKS ON THEM.

I am submitting this hotel to be the crappiest I have ever stayed in I'm a platinum member and stayed in many they are rude disrespectful and have roaches not reasonable and nothing besides picking when want to do house keeping and want to purchase a King room they will give you a 3 double bed room and not fix it nothing good to say don't clean rooms before move in won't be happy with service run away from place should be shut down till fix problem sorry for anybody there have a merry Christmas please report any problems with this place all helps should be knocked down and rebuilt this problem Will never go away

We ended up getting a different hotel after going back and rereading the reviews. I just ate the money for this room. We were afraid to stay here after we read about the live and dead cockroach comments and issues with the AC.We were traveling with small children and an adult with health problems.

Do not stay at this motel! It is infested with cockroaches. The floors turn your feet black within minutes of walking them. The beds are so uncomfortable and dirty. The a.c was broke. Most outlets didn’t work. The first room we were in the fridge didn’t work. Every time we left our room we had to go to the office and have our room key reprogrammed. The property manager at the front desk didn’t even know I had a reservation. I paid for and reserved a room, but he couldn’t “find it in the system” very inconvenient and when I did get checked in the room was filthy. I had to mop the whole floor and I did see cockroaches in the room.

This room reeked of cigarette smoke although it says smoke free room. There’s a gap between the floor and door, so small animals could get in. I woke up to cockroaches on the same bed as me. These sheets were stained on all the beds and the remote did not work.

The outlet in room 202 on the wall between the bed and the kitchenette in the main room needs to be looked at by an electrician. I simply plugged my phone charger in and there was a big spark. It destroyed my charger. That's why we did not stay. Even my 14 year old said it wasn't safe.

The floors haven’t seen a broom or mop since last summer it looks like. The hooker hanging out out side offered me “ a good night” and some “real good ice cream” Definitely don’t try for a refund or room change . I didn’t even stay. We left as fast as we could.

Hello, when I opened the door to the room it really smelled bad, the cockroaches ran out from under the door, the door did not close properly from the front, the sheets were stained as well as the towels, there was mold in the wall bathtub and it was clogged... When you showered, the water didn't go away.

The room was very dirty, the fridge did not work, the A/C did not work, there are roaches at night. overall it is not a good experience, and do not recommend staying at this hotel. The property management system is handled by a family, amd they do not address the issues well. When notified about the non working A/C, they provide fans which do not fix the issue, as they only blow the same hot air in the room.

It was a great stay. Nice and big room. Only complaint is you can’t control the heat, and the blankets aren’t heavy enough so I froze when I slept. Definitely should have worn a sweat shirt and sweat pants to sleep.

The parking lot was laughable with parking spaces so small that the long term residents of the hotel had their cars beat to hell. Thus I was worried for the safety of my own vehicle. Then entering the room it was poorly lit by randomly placed floor lamps, which when turned on sent the roaches running and revealed walls that have looked like they had different things spilled here and there and never cleaned. The “hard wood” floor has never seen a mop, and there was mold and mildew all over the shower. The A/C didn’t really seem to work at all. We had it set as low as it would go and it made absolutely no difference. I wouldn’t stay here again and if anyone said they were going to I’d tell them to run. Really wish I had pictures.

Stove was disgusting. It had definitely been used probably be people who lived there on the premises. Refrigerator had mold and a roach in it. I wound not recommend staying there. One night stay near the beach, 4 mins drive from pirate parasail, and 2 blocks away from boardwalk. Beds were comfortable and location was ideal. The room did smell a little off, but there are fans in the room to air out the smell.

No canvellation policy is horrible so really think hard on staying here or maoing reservations. We had a room with a ative a refrigerator, neither of them worked after buying food to cook in our room instead of going out everynight to eat. Parking is tight, had naother family slam their car door into my car. Housekeeping was non existent, had to go ask for fresh linens and towels.

The Stove was not working, room was not clean properly. Crackers were under the night stand. The room had a bad odor, the staff did not come to clean the room, for the two days we were there.,sheets were not changed, this is my first and last stay at Belmont Inn. No recommendation .

If you are looking for a place to lay your head for a few hours and is super cheap, this place is ok. Other than that, stay away. The room was infested with bugs, the counter top was split open. The electrical sockets were loose and coming out the walls. This is a place if you have no where else to go. Will spend the money next time and stay somewhere else.

The only good thing about it is the location, besides that nothing. The beds were uncomfortable, the stove was very sticky and dirty. The fridge had old cheese that was left by another guest.I would never consider this property!

Let me begin by saying that the best things about this motel are it's location, price, and separate bedroom. Kitchenette is also a plus. There was one HD tv in the main room and an old RGB tube in the bedroom. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and updated. The rest of the room was not in great shape but it was everything we needed. I would stay here again.

Yes, I had to fidget with the cable box and remote to get them to work and, yes, there was some mis-matched paint on the walls. If those are huge concerns for you, then paying a hundred dollars more per night might be worth it. I have also stayed in some of the oceanfront hotels, but this place made me just as happy for a better price. I will be staying here again!

If you want a dark dismal room with no frills, not enough towels, no amenities, an unresponsive staff, a swampy smell, that is inexpensive relative to beach prices and walking distance to the beach, then this is the place for you. On a positive note we surprisingly didnt get bit by bugs or or rodents. We asked for towels for 4 people, but they couldnt do that for us. Even though we had a room with 2 rooms/3 beds. We stayed here for one night in a pinch. It served that purpose, barely.

All the other guests at the hotel are either living there or are doing drugs there. No matter what time you come in or out someone has their door open and is watching you.

Best thing is it's in a good location, close to the beach. For its price. cannot complain much. But a better WiFi connection and cleaner sheets would be appreciated The TV set gets only 2 channels but we didn't expect it to be super as it's an inexpensive hotel.

When checking in at 3 pm, the manager said the a/c was broken but it should be fixed by 7 pm. When we entered the room, the management had set up a pedestal fan to try to cool the room a little. The head of the fan was broken so that it pointed down to the floor & could not be set in a vertical position without someone actually standing nearby & physically holding the head upright. The mini fridge did not seem to be working - the inside was warm. The flat screen tv worked to a point - you had to fiddle around with the controls & when you tried to change channels, the tv would reset & you would have to fiddle around with the controls again. We called down to the front desk for their advise but they were not helpful. By 8 pm, the a/c was still not working. The room temperature felt the same as the temperature outside - in the mid 90s. When we asked the front desk when the a/c would be working, they said they did not know. To their credit, they said if we stayed & there were no a/c, they would give us a discount on the room or we could just check out & there would be no charge. After arranging a stay at a nearby hotel for a higher rate, we took the second option & checked out before even spending one night there.

Motel is fairly old and rundown; room is advertised as having a kitchen, but the only thing that works is the stovetop, microwave and small refrigerator. The staff was pleasant enough.

The hotel had 3 beds in total, although when we first reserved it say it was 2 double beds and sofabed (which we weren't going to use both) but it was the only one available so we went for it. It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in my entire life, there was no air it was hotter in our room then it was outside.. we had to move beds and mattresses into another room just to cool down.. the owner had to bring fans in our room I would never ever go back there again it was the worst vacation I've ever had ever!

The air conditioning did not work and when I told them it was not working me told me I should not have touched it and I told him I didn't he acted like I did. The rugs in the room where like really felt like they were dirty and damp I really didn't enjoy my stay the second night I got to change to a different room the air conditioning did work in that room it was not a good stay and was definitely not worth the money I spent

We reserved our room and paid online, they made copies of our credit card when we arrived, said they needed to see it to verify room, then copied it and refused to return the copies. We had to call and cancel card because of being recharged extra by the hotel after we left. Do NOT stay at this hotel. In addition, rooms were not fully clean and ac busted.

We stayed here when we got to the beach the first night and it was an awful room... Ended up staying 2 more nights in a different room, which wasn't too bad.

The belmont was awesome. I love the way the room is set up. Everyone had plenty of room. It was really home away from home. Cant hear any noise from outside. Shower stayed hot after 10 showers a day washing dishes ect. Room stayed cold and lots of cable channels.

It's an older hotel but the rooms are good size and it was clean. Plus it's only a block from the beach.

It appeared to us that if we didn't leave in the morning asap, they wanted to fight us.

Three beds,clean rooms,but luke warm water,no clock,no iron, no smoking, stoves not working, no pool but it was only 1 block from the beach.

The hotel was inexpensive also had a nice location right by the boardwalk. The manager and staff were very friendly. Having free wifi was a nice touch to. The only problem is the ad on the Internet said there would be free coffee and a 24hr lobby and the hotel didn't offer any of those services. The parking lot spaces were limited and very tight. Not a good stay for more than two nights. Also the walls are very thin so me and my girlfriend had a listen to drunks yelling til 3am in the morning.

For what I paid I was surprised to have so much space. The kitchenette and extra bedroom were nice. The guest service agent behind the desk was polite and efficient.The bathroom and bedding were very clean and it was only a short walk to the busier parts of the boardwalk. My only concern was that the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while so wear socks/shoes.

I just needed a place to stay close to the beachfront that was inexpensive, and gave me a little walking distance. I was running the shamrock half marathon. I needed a place with a clean bathroom and a place to put my water. It was great. The oven's weren't working but it's by plenty of food places and the fridge was clean. the Bathroom was old but Clean and the hot water worked and the shower was great! Only complaint would be the smell of smoke permeated the room. I doubled up on allergy meds since i'm allergic but it just got into all my clothes unless i put them in the bathroom the only place that didn't smell like smoke. I would stay there again for a quick one night place to crash

The room had buckets on the floor to catch water leaks. The odor of cheap cigarettes and mildew filled the room. The ice machine is nasty and located near the trash cans outside. The walls were dirty and the stove was covered in foil. Plus they charge extra taxes than what your hotels.com booking says. The owner called me the day of my trip to ask if I was still coming so he go use my room. I was so upset by that. If I came or not that's my room that I booked. That was rude and unprofessional.

This hotel was conveniently located just off the main strip of the beach. You can walk all the way up and down the boardwalk and still not be tired when you get back to your hotel because it's right there. It only takes about 2 minutes to walk across the street and then you're on the beach. It's right next to a lot of great bars and a Sunsations store. However, the location was the only redeeming factor for this hotel. For the room, the price is outrageous. The carpets were stained, and it had all the feels of a very cheap hotel. The fan vent in the bathroom was falling off the ceiling when we arrived. The bathroom was ok, the sink was new, but the bathroom tile and shower were old and outdated. The beds were probably the most uncomfortable beds I've slept on since I went camping in a sleeping bag on the ground. The sheets didn't seem clean either. We ended up sleeping on top of the comforter. Oh yeah, and you can hear through the walls to your neighbors on both sides. I wouldn't stay here again. But I will say the location was awesome.

When my friend and I pulled up to the hotel we were a bit skeptical at first by the outer appearance. However, once we checked in everything got better. I was impressed that the room had three beds, stove, full size refrigerator and two TVs. Being only a two star hotel I knew coming in that it would not be the most impressive place to stay. The furniture was older and the wood on most of it was chipping. The bathroom, beds, and the overall room was very clean. The lamp shades and curtains definitely need changed out, they were pretty stained and tattered. Also, the window in our room had a broken lock which made me a bit uneasy (we were on the second floor). Another repair that needed to be made to this room was the air conditioner that leaked the entire time, but it did work great and kept the room cool. Also, the door to the one room leading from the living / kitchen area needed repair, it looked like it had been punched at one time. Overall, we had a good experience.We had no problems with the owners and room service was great throughout the stay. I would recommend this place to stay in Virginia Beach if you are on a budget, just because it is so close to the beach with only a couple minute walking distance.
