The tv service was poor. The breakfast was good the first day and after that it wasn’t that good

I travel to work to the Lake Forest area and have stayed here for more than 10 times in the last 2 years. Very good place, Brian and team do a great job, very helpful and supportive. Like the location, many good options to eat in the neighbourhood.

My room was very clean...and I liked they would come in daily to clean, change sheet and leave towels. Staff were nice. Breakfast was ok. The bagels were wrapped but stale.

First at check in. The desk clerk barely spoke. Didn’t answer any questions. All he said was “sign this” no other interaction. Even when I asked a question I got no response. A few hours after check in I noticed my payment was processed at a higher rate. I didn’t see on Booking.com there was a deposit. Which was no problem. The problem when I asked the clerk about the extra few dollars was he got irritated and said “listen everyone charges that” ok, I knew that but just didn’t see it on the website or was told about it at check in. Lastly I was told it takes 7-10 days before the property would release the deposit. Nice hotel! Was exactly what we were looking for. Location had a very large party loud music that was not handled at all. I (as a first responder) stopped at the desk once going to get an item from our car. I had to stop and tell the clerk “you have an individual (s) laying on the floor at the end of the hall. At this point my wife, grandson and I were very close to leaving and finding another hotel as our safety (especially with a child) was starting to come into question. Didn’t eat breakfast. Got up and out quickly. Which was sad cause that was part of our stay. Read above post. Safety and an irritated clerk was the main reason for our stay to be sub par. Probably wouldn’t stay or recommend this location.

Breakfast had some pretty good items; 1 lady at the front desk was friendly, the other guy was not very personable; the rooms were clean and spacious; the TV channels did not match the guide and the picture was not so great; the beds and shower were good, although the bathroom was not very well lit and the fan in there definitely needed to be replaced (VERY noisy); it was a great location and housekeeping and the breakfast ladies were very nice!

We stayed here for our Sailor's graduation and it was wonderful. Gave us lots of dining options nearby and there is a park with lots of paths to walk. We booked a hotel after graduation that was closer to the airport that was twice as much as this hotel for our last night in Chicago and it was so uncomfortable! The beds at the Holiday Inn were so comfortable and we totally wanted to return back to this hotel instead of the "5-star" one we were at on our last night. The only reason I gave a lower star on the conditions was because of the elevator. It was making noises and sounds like it needed to be serviced. We took the stairs because of that.

It’s close to many things in the area. The downside is having the pool open to 11 pm. Kids screaming carries through the facility from pool area. Really loud. Rooms were nice.

Didn’t like the fact that the elevator broke down. Was a convenient location based on our travel arrangements.

The property is in dire need up maintenance and upkeep. New paint, carpet cleaning, etc. There are paint chips and holes all throughout the hallways and in the guest room/bathroom. The caulking around the sinks and tub is dirty, lifting, moldy. There are significant stains on the carpets in the hallways and in the guestroom. There is an old musty/moldy smell throughout. We checked out the next morning.

This hotel was clean and the customer service was good. I requested a room closer to the elevator for a family member that had a little trouble walking and they provided that and I am very grateful. The only problem is that there were a few things out of order. The elevator was out of service from 11:00 pm to 10:am the next day. We called the desk and asked how long until it was fixed and she just stated simply she did not know. I was worried that my family member had to take a long walk down the hallway and down the stairs because we stayed on second floor. I was worried that the elevator wasn’t going to be fixed in time of checkout but thankfully was by then. The pancake machine and juice machine were also out of order. Overall , other than those things it working the stay was good. Oh they had great coffee in the lobby also !

The shower was MAGICAL! I am someone who rates a hotel on the shower and this one is great. The rooms were clean, the pillows were nice, breakfast was better than most continental. But that shower!

But I couldn't get the deposit $50 until now and the air-conditioning noise bothered me all night.

When checking in, the attendant told me how Expedia works is they book for you and put a credit card on your account. Then you have to pay a $50 deposit on it when you come in just incase you “do something stupid” in her own words. Areas were clean, the elevator was super sketchy. It was quiet at night but in the morning it was very loud and there were dogs barking in the halls which made it hard to stay asleep. Beds were comfortable. I would stay again without the surprise of extra money needing to be paid at the front desk and dogs not being in the hotel.

It was very nice and staff were absolutely wonderful to me and my five year old son!!! They let us check in way early at 1 pm instead of the 4 pm check in, and the next day let us check out late at two pm in the afternoon so on top of the pool being well maintained and the property super clean and rooms were very clean as well and comfortable I’d recommend the holiday inn Express in Vernon Hills again and again thanks for the wonderful hospitality!!!

Only real negative was the breakfast was already put of pancakes beside we got any and they help just ignored my requests for more. She Didn’t even respond to me.

I liked that they allowed me early check in and late check out. It was also nice to have stores and food within walking distance. We didn't like that the elevator felt dangerous and was loud... and of course... right next to our room. We also had tiny ants in our room. We saw one on the bed and one in the bathroom.

There was way too many pets at the hotel that weighed more than 25lb as it’s allowed and they were loud too. All of that besides the fire alarm that woke us around 2am and when we called room service they said it’s a falls alarm because someone was smoking in the room( which is not allowed) he was chilled about it n seemed like it happened more often. We were so scared n ready to take the stairs down thinking there was fire. Again!! No apology or anything. So rude!!!

Stayed here out of convenience. Work/gym was right around the corner and was having work done at my place. Nothing special about checking in. Room was a good size. Bed was very comfortable. Only negative was the sound of the heating/air conditioning system. Im a light sleeper so woke me up during the night. Overall, pretty okay stay.

Property was conveniently located close to shopping center and restaurants. No to far from highway. I stay couple nights, cleaning stuff was excellent. Elevator was small and kept making noises.

Staff were very helpful during the stay to get us adjacent to other family members during our stay for a family event. We had an adjoining room as well and the staff were flexible for our late arrivals, and multiple reservations under the same name.

Tis a small thing, but towels were restocked with 2 washcloths instead of 3, and we only had them come in the third day of our stay. So, not spectacular, but not horrible. Water temperature is kind of important, well, to me at least.

I appreciated the friendly, helpful staff. The property was well maintained. The only issue I encountered was when taking a shower, the curtain did not keep water from the floor. Once, this created a puddle extending out of the bath/toilet room to the hallway/wash basin area.

Met with with a very insensitive and combative front desk Manager while checking out. We had raised the issue of invasion of Privacy for one of the two rooms we had booked and some of the belongings were thrown in the trash as the staff thought we had checked out without confirming with us. The manager instead of having a normal conversation was very defensive and combative and asked us to produce receipts of the stuff that was trashed. Would not recommend this property again just because of the front desk manager

We choose our hotels based on location, price, and free breakfast. We chose this hotel because it had free breakfast with pancakes, but the pancake machine was out of order when we were there. Other than that, our stay was OK.

We chose this property because it was walkable to where we had an event. It was easy to book, price was right and the hotel was perfect for what we needed. The staff was friendly and the room was very welcoming and comfortable. Thank you for making this an easy booking.

At first we were given a room directly opposite the elevator. We told the person at the desk that we were concerned that it would be too noisy. He said no problem and gave us another room that was clear at the end of the hall. It was perfect, and very quiet! That is why the next time we are in Mundelein to visit our son, we will probably stay at the same Holiday Inn Express.

I was giving access to a room that was already occupied!!!!!! Had to go to front desk and get new room. Desk attendant didn’t seam like it was a big deal.

Housekeeping did a good job each day, and handling my item left in the room very well, ensuring it was routed to the front desk and returned upon my request after discovery of it being left behind.
