The motel was very old and the furniture was outdated as well. The owners were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated, but the room was very small and not very clean. The bathroom was also extremely small. Overall, the hotel really needs renovation because everything feels old and worn out.

This place has an old Florida charm vibe, very clean rooms and property, very nice pool area as well. The staff was friendly and pleasant interactions at check-in. This hotel also has an incredible restaurant onsite. Will def book here again in the future.

I saw a lot of mixed reviews and was honestly nervous about if I made the right choice booking this hotel. I usually do not book hotels where the door is open to the parking lot (personal preference) and was concerned about some of the comments regarding roaches, mold, etc., that I saw on some other reviews. I usually book at a Hilton or Marriott. I booked this place because of the rate and did not intend to be at the hotel much, so opted for cost savings over one of the larger hotel chains. Let me just say that I could not have been more happy with my stay, well almost. The hotel was extremely clean, smelled wonderful - not a speck of dirt anywhere. Bedding smelled fresh and clean. There was a microwave and refrigerator - clean and used both. The room opened to a quaint little center area with Tiki hut tables and a pool. I did not spend any time out in the pool but did walk around. It was beautiful and if I had time I would’ve enjoyed using them. I felt extremely safe. It’s in a good area and had no concerns with the doors opening to the outside . had my own personal parking spot right in front of my room. The front desk staff was very kind. My daughter attends a local equestrian horse show their regularly and this will be my go to hotel going forward, the only complaint I could offer is that the water did not seem to have a cold setting and did see some people comment on this. It wasn’t a big enough deal to even mention to the front desk. Will absolutely stay here again!

We did feel uneasy and my daughters were afraid when we saw a drug deal happen in the parking lot. No fault of the people running it, but now I may not stay here again.

Very convenient, great staff, highly recommended.

Very run down property. Room was very needy of attention. Walls were missing paint from where something was ripped previously away from it. Every toilet flush we had to take off the tank lid and pull up the flusher in order for it to flush. The shower had mold everywhere in the grout. When I asked for more paper towels for the kitchen, I was told, “Tomorrow”. Never got the paper towels. We will not be returning.

No washer or dryer for customer laundry use.

Floor and bed look like not very clean

Nice little place. Eclectic in that there were definite new features, along with features still needing to be repaired or updated. Room was clean. Courtyard is very nicely done, with all doors open to inside courtyard. Pool closes at 8pm, would be nice to be open later. Restaurant onsite, though closes around 2pm. Places close by though to eat, walkable. All in all I would definitely stay there again. Very affordable for the area.

Classic motel

I was expecting a small kitchen when i booked a room with a kitchenette. I was expecting at least a stovetop along with everything else in the room. At least that's what I get anywhere I book a room with a kitchenette. So that was a little disappointing. But for the cost it was still fair. There looks to be some water damage on the walls. Which could have easily been from the hurricane that came through a couple years ago. Otherwise the rooms were pretty nice, clean, and comfortable. Floors clearly new. the air conditioning worked really well. I did get in super late because of delayed flights and someone was there when I arrived to get me checked in after midnight. I called ahead to let them know of the delay. Not everywhere will have staff do that. I loved that each room had their own parking space. No need to search for one near your room. I absolutely loved that part.

The resort is in a great location, which was ideal. The rooms are outdated and the amenities are as well. The toilet would only flush if the cover was removed and manually flushed by releasing flapper. The television only worked if you manually positioned the TV wires. The staff was polite when available or around.

They need to service the door locks not very secure.Also the ac system coils need cleaning .The swimming pool was well kept.

CONs: The hotel needs a lot of fixing up. I stayed in the room with the kitchenette. There are a lot of bugs in the kitchenette area. The door to the parking did not close completely.

I adored my stay here. A woman in eary to mid 30's is all i met n spoke with. But she was cery kind, held a smile every convorsation or in passing. The property was quaint n clean n quite surprising because u dont expect all of what the place offers. Its a hidden jem right off the 41 South Tamiami Trail. The rooms from outside look as tho they would b very tiny without any extra amentities or play space inside but wow u walk in n its a happy exhale of comfort n of delight. The set up of the property is brilliant because u walk in ur room n are able to leave out the room back door which lead u into a back courtyard that all the rooms lead to with cook out areas n swimming amentities. It was great i really enjoyed the diamond in the rough.

The room was clean and big. Had everything I needed. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine. Excellent restaurant attached to the motel for breakfast and lunch. Pool was located outside the rooms double doors. Venice Beach was about a mile away. Walking distance since I didn’t have a car. Shopping all within walking distance.

I loved the location of this hotel. Not hard to get in and out of and next to a lot of restaurants and shops. Had a great picnic area and a nice pool. Room was spacious and comfortable beds.

Although on the cheaper end, it worked. We had all we needed to shower and sleep. The rooms were clean.

The room was spotless and fresh fluffy towels every day the pool area is pleasant and the staff are lovely and very helpful.

Room was fairly clean - I think. My deadbolt to the door to the parking lot would not work. There was never anyone in the office - had to yell to get them to come out. Both my room and my son’s had a cockroach. I found it on my toothpaste tube. Base of toilet was dirty. No Kleenex, only toilet tissue.

Our room was good. I really liked the sheets and bed, slept good. Def worth the price . The view was from the courtyard which was nice. We didn’t use the pool ran out of time. Fridge decent size in it. There is a DG & nice Goodwill across the street. Many restaurants etc surrounds it. The restaurant meals looked good but we didn’t eat. I got a medium black coffee and a small chocolate milk and it came out like $12! So you might as well go to Starbucks right down the road or Dunkin’s. Check out Miami street w all the shops. Also beaches are close to drive to like within 10-15 mins. Would stay again. We didn’t want to spend a lot as we wouldn’t be in the room much so if you want something on the cheaper side without the frills stay here.

The BAD. So when you park your car it's at the Front door. There is a back door to the pool area. I found the Do Not Disturb sign in the kitchen counter. So, what did I do when we left I put it on our front door. My wife left All her jewelry out. When we returned, the room had been cleaned! When we went to the office they said they would look into it. Immediately, the Manager who checked me in said there was no sign on door. When I told him it was on front door he said it should be on back door. No one ever told me it needed to be on back door. When I disagreed he got very rude, even threatened to throw me out! I paid for the whole stay upon check-in. He said my wife was being rude. He got 2 other employees there to cheer him in. SUPER rude and wrong! The least he could have done was say his mistake in not saying anything about where to hang sign. Instead, he got loud and NEVER apologized. He even got insulted when we told him we had to check our belongings now. He made the rest of our stay very uncomfortable . BE Aware.

It was a great place to hang your hat and go out exploring, to the beach or downtown. The pool was great and there’s a restaurant attached, which was handy for breakfast.

Site photos far ourweigh the actual status. Not a deluxe property as claimed. Furniture and cabinetry in room were in poor condition and in several places, masking tape was used to secure loose laminate. Nothing matched in the kitchenette. Dishware looked as if purchased separately at Goodwill store (which actually might have better stuff). Electric stove only had three functioning burners. Painted walls were scuffed and not repaired. There was no closet for hanging clothes. The only really nice area was the pool but there was a lot of trash strewn about. Could not contact the front desk from room - had to call in on cell phone to main number.

Paid and checked in to our room. Then we saw the room was not anything close to the pictures. It clearly smelled mold. We tried to get a partial refund. They refused it. When we informed them that we will be sharing our experience and pictures on expedia, the management called the police and got us out of property and still charged us for the stay, effectively stealing our money. If you like India slums without going to India, this is the perfect place!

I came in on an early bus, and the staff was so lovely they let me check in 3 hours early without an extra charge. When I got to my room it was so clean I could have eaten off the floor. Everything was perfect. I would love to stay here next time I require accommodations in Venice. My rating is 12 out of 10, I'm beyond pleased with the experience.

place was okay overall, no ventilation in the bathrooms while using showers. Surface mold on the ceilings. Very obvious. Place was clean however and a decent location. When you scroll through their pictures, you get the illusion there is a kitchen inside the units. There is no kitchen! Keep that in mind before booking!

Cockroach problem stayed one night and found another property.

Place is old, used and abused, needs a complete tear down. Parking wasn't a problem and we had a spot right in front of our room to monitor for possible break-in/theft. Residential homes just across the street behind the property. Very busy area, lots of traffic noise which was not much of an issue since the ceiling fans & a/c units were providing their own loud entertainment. First unit smelled like urine, had to move to another. One of the tv's had audio but no picture. Not a lot of space to put our belongings, had to buy some hangars, just a lot of nitpicky stuff that turns a decent stay into a hassle. Oh well, it was only $250 per night so I should be grateful for such a cheap room. Will not stay there again, would not recommend.

We totally enjoyed our stay , staff was polite and helpful. Nice clean room , the pool was beautiful. It was not noisy .. The room is comfortable. The little bistro was a very nice surprise .. If I had know how nice the hotel and the town and beach was ,,I Would Not have wasted my time going to the keys .. I would’ve stayed there and enjoyed it much better

Well laid out and pool was a high light. It’s a court yard pool area surrounded by all the guest rooms. Clean and private. Staff was great. We spent a week there and the kitchenette was nice. A little out dated but clean. Would definitely go again

If you like a vintage motel that reminds you of a way back motor lodge, this is the perfect place for you. No phone in the room with everyone having cell phones now. The walk to the office is simple and short. Free coffee! Great ice machine and Coke vending machine. It was very low-key and not many people since they don’t have a lot of rooms. So nice! The area is safe with modern conveniences close. There’s a Publix and Dollar General within walking distance. We did need to Uber to the beach but it was inexpensive. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast and brunch and has amazing homemade cinnamon rolls and homemade donuts on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The food is excellent anytime. The pool was a perfect temp and very relaxing. Handy to get to from any room. Loved the French doors in the room to get to the courtyard and pool. The staff there are wonderful. Extremely nice and helpful. You see them cleaning almost 24 seven a day. It’s a family run business. I had an issue with the microwave in my room and it was immediately replaced. I will definitely go back. Great rates for a FL vacation and get away. It wouldn’t be the place for you if you expect tons of amenities and modern touches, but it was ideal for me!

Nice big heated pool was a big plus. Location, location, location- the property’s secret weapon. I know having lived on the island in Venice before. Can’t beat it!

No lighted sign in front of Motel. and it was dark outside. No one in the office had to call to talk to a remote person. Asked for an extra blanket and it never showed up. The code would not open the door to our room so they had to change it to a different room. Dirty spots on the blanket that was also the bedspread.

When we turned on the light at night there were a dozen roaches. We killed many of them and left the lights on for the short few hours until dawn. We noted this to the front desk and showed photos. She promised a full refund. When I called to ask about the refund they told me the manager declined it. I also don’t like that they use traditional metal keys that could be duplicated. This is a serious security issue.

The restaurant on site (not affiliated with the hotel) is very good for breakfast and lunch). Publix is a 5 minute walk (or less).

Staff was friendly and property located in a convenient area for our trip. This is a no frill motel with some superficial make over. Mattress are aged. It fit our needs well for location and we enjoyed our stay.

The general property was tired and not well maintained

The inn is an "old Florida style" inn, but well kept and clean. Very welcoming at check in. Comfortable bed, nice french doors looking at the pool and barbeque area. A good one night stay.

The room was absolutely horrible. Old beat up and smelly. I took pictures hoping there was a place to send them when your company asked how was the stay. It was not worth 25% of what we paid. I’m not happy that we can no longer trust booking on Expedia.

Room was cleaned everyday, new towels, garbages emptied. It was quiet. It had a restaurant on property with great coffee and food. Great location. Beds seemed comfortable to me. All other guests I spoke with also were very satisfied with the accommodations.

The room was clean and it did have a coffee maker but it was one cup at a time.

Our room smelled like musty mold. I had to spray my bathroom spray to make the room tolerable. The room’s furniture was very worn. There was mold in the bathroom and the hairdryer was ancient and did not work. I mean the outlet right next to the sink was not GFI either which is dangerous. The pillows were so bad and gross that I went and bought my own. If my brothers had not also booked a room here I would have left. The door looked like someone had kicked it in. The walls were dirty and had dings in them. The pool area was ok. Our room neighbor was smoking pot right outside our door and made our whole room smell like what he was smoking. The nightstand drawer smelled like pot when we opened it, I wish I had spent the extra money and stayed at the Inn on the beach. This place is also not a close walk to downtown. The cafe attached to the hotel was good. It had to be run by different people because it was clean and decorated cute.

I have stayed in two of the other budget friendly accommodations in the neighborhood, and this one is definitely a better choice. NOTE: I don't think it's prudent to give 5 stars to a discount motel... Achieving 4 is impressive in itself. The staff was friendly and attentive. You know these people are doing the best they can with what they have. The room was clean and even the floors we're clean enough to barefoot. The usual coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave were present, and two queen beds were above the standard of what one might expect. Of six pillows on the two beds, I managed to find three that fit my needs. It was quiet and I did not hear any noise from adjacent rooms which were both occupied. The console air conditioner was not as loud as I expected and still kept the room cool. The pool area looked very nice but I did not get a chance to use it. The place could use some landscaping.

Clean and convenient

I would like a full refund. I checked in. Came back and there were cickroaches on my toothbrush and all over the bathroom and the AC was not working. I left and the desk person offered me another room but i was so creeped out i could not stay there. They offered only excuses. Pleas refund.

Upon checking in, they asked about pets, I told them no pets, then they cleaning our room and found dog hair in the bed, finally i said, go look for yourself! It came from a blanket i had brought From home. Anyway, the room was clean but bathroom window opening handle was broken. He put a rock on the outside to keep ot closed but wouldn't have stopped anyone from going through the window! Would i stay again? Probably not, was the rate goid, yes, the rate was good and the pool was clean with a cute outdoor sitting area...outside of the motel, not so pretty!

The room was very clean, however the bathroom widow didn't shut or open, the ac didn't really function making the room hot and uncomfortable at night. On our second night my sister woke up to a bug crawling on her hand, which upset her.

Rooms are in a very bad shape. The AC in the room is too noisy. You can hear the Neigbor’s in the adjoining room snore.

The management was extremely rude! !” In addition, they promised me up my things and left; only to tell me that I had no refund and they were keeping my money! I am a CPA and a frequent traveler as a consultant and I recommend that nobody stay at this hotel ever!!

Clean room great location nice courtyard and heated pool

The entire hotel appears rather rundown. Bathroom sink cold water faucet didn’t work. Hot water barely ran.

Room was clean and AC worked well. Property a little run down around doors and exterior. One of my lamps didn’t work and was never fixed after reporting.

I was pleased with the stay

What a cute, reasonably priced family owned and operated business to stay in the heart of St Pete Beach! Very clean and nicely decorated. The pool was crystal clear, but the heater hadn’t been installed yet so a bit chilly. We also wished there was ICE available!! I would recommend and stay here again.

Thehotel is very dated but our room was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The pool was refreshing and clean.

I checked in and the girl was very nice and accommodating. The I drove around to my room. When you drive up to your room and park outside of it you think, Oh not so nice. Then you walk into your lovely room. The room leads to a beautiful courtyard. All of the rooms are around the courtyard which has the pool. We had 5 rooms between us for a friend getaway. We had everything we needed. We had a fabulous time. We only left to go to the grocery store and to go to the beach. I was truly an unforgettable weekend. The staff was so friendly and kind. The restaurant was delicious. We will definitely be coming back.

After staying several times, the management has been become argumentative. Extra fees tacked on when I paid cash. And now a $50 of cleaning fee for my cat's hair. I stayed at a motel after theirs no cat problem. Problem is with management wanting $50 additional for an unrealistic cause.

The place is nice. But management is not good. Indian male telling me that I have to pay a $50 cleaning fee from my cat. I lint rolled the bed comforter. There was very little trace of hair left. I stayed at another property after that and the cleaning staff reported room clean on checkout. The cleaning lady at Island Sun is grabbing money for herself.

The place is nice. The management argumentative and always trying to tack on additional fees. They did not like when I used my virtual card because they could not tack on their fees.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. In my room, I have a mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. I love driving to Whole Foods in Sarasota and filling up my fridge with my favorites.

Not much to say. Old property partially updated. Nothing to brag about. But the price was right and the room was clean and bed comfortable. Bathroom was also somewhat updated and clean. Overall a good value vs the chain hotels. To be clear this was a motel. So don't expect much in the way of ambiance! Still, I would prob stay there again! The on-site bistro was the best part of the whole experience. Top notch hole in the wall local spot!

This is a little “old Florida” motel on the Isle of Venice. Very unassuming, but rooms are very clean, staff is friendly and the pool area is well kept. Beds were comfy and the area was safe. No complaints.

Cute little older hotel, very nice updated room with French doors that open out into the pool area. The room had new bed, floors, and bathroom fixtures, but they really needed to replace the old bathroom cabinet when they did the sink. It was badly water damaged and falling apart. Also, pest control needs to do some work. There were little roaches all over the bathroom at night. But it's what you get for $65...

The courtyard and pool were nice. The door to the room we were staying in if you didnt lock the door you could just push the door open. There was hardly any water pressure in the shower. The pillows were flat and the bed lets just say we wouldve more comfortable on the floor. Very thin walls. Vut close to good bbq and not far from the beach.

It has the most charming French door that opens up onto a patio with chairs and umbrella tables and their pool. The landscaping is awesome around the pool area.

Had issues with bugs, The bed was so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep in the bed. Mold spots in shower.

Such a cute place! Very quiet, check in was quick and easy and the beds were comfortable! The middle pool area was nicely done and loved that it was right outside our patio doors! We will be back!

Rooms are clean. The overall look of the area and hotel may appear sketchy but everyone was friendly the pool area looked fantastic and the bistros food was great.

The Inn does have a bistro on the property, but i didn't eat there. The beds were very comfortable, the room was exceptionally clean and the pool was very enjoyable! It was an outstanding value $$wise and I would stay here again.

very nice bathroom and the room was pretty nice. the restaurant on site, the blu island bistro was a hidden gem.

The room was ok, the bathroom was terrible, the shower didn't have pressure and toilet was bounced. The AC outside was dripping water right in front the back door. The Lawn man was blowing around the pool in the middle of the day, making noise, spread all the debris around the pool while we are sitting there trying to rest, beside the smell gasoline. The manager/owner didn't care when we went to talk about these issues. Very rude people !

Great location, some of the towels had stains and the sink and toilet weren't exactly attached correctly, but otherwise was a great stay, will definitely be back, great price, right down the street fron the beach and downtown area overall great time

Overall, this place is horrible. The pictures they have posted do not represent the reality. The place is outdated and after the first day of staying there we checked out. We saw two small roaches in the bathroom and one in the room near the bed. The man at the front desk said that they were willing to give us a new room and they were waiting for pest control to come. We do not want a room because most likely it’s gonna have the same roach problem in other rooms. The man at the front desk did not reimburse us or credit us the money we had paid upfront. I do not recommend people to stay in this place.

We have stayed here several trips very friendly staff. Old school FL hotel. Nothing fancy but we love it. very clean, ice cold AC, nice pool, beautiful courtyard. Breakfast lunch restaurant on site two dinner options within walking distance.Perfect for family trip.

Staff was super friendly & helpful! The stay was fantastic. They even include things in the room you dont normally find like can opener, plates, cups, utensils, dish soap! The room was nice. Parking right out front of the room door. Its also got a grwat location, 1 mile from the beach! The property itself was super quiet too! It was such a fantastic stay that we extended an extra night!

Me and my family enjoyed our stay. The shower pressure was absolutely amazing. The rooms were spacious, clean and up to date. I didn't like the fact that the restaurant and pool closed extremely early. We did eat at the restaurant and the staff was absolutely amazing and so polite. Overall i woukd definitely book again and it was reasonably priced.

You get what you pay for wirh this one. Very outdated. Tub didn’t drain. No fan in the bathroom so it got extremely hot and humid. The light didn't work.

Older hotel that could use updating, a smell from mini fridge that wouldn’t go and any time I was near it or opened it it would not sit well, I even had that taste in my mouth days later. Bistros on property was pretty good food even locals came to eat at. Mostly quiet and plenty of stores & restaurants. If I were to be in the area and needed to spend a few night I would. Nice pool area and each room has double doors leading to walk out to pool and chairs to relax or get sun. Nice place

Our room was spacious, with a comfortable king bed. The ceiling fan above the bed, was a nice extra touch.

We like that the Bistro is right there. Across is Dollar General & a few minutes is Publix. The patio & pool was great. The outside personal table was a plus. Area is quiet.

The location pool

This was a night away, no kid, adult, romantic QUICK planned trip. For being quick and unplanned...this was an oasis. Not only was the room very spacious...but I fell in love with the courtyard area, pool, and location. The outside front is cute and decorative...the door by parking is well "questionable"...but once we opened that door it was a AHhhh moment. The French doors leading to little patio area/walk way was so inviting. Now the room could use some upgrades ESPECIALLY a USB port for charging phone. We got a plug and ran to the Dollar General right across the street. Which I might add the sweetest employees work over there. A few touch ups around room and bathroom but nothing major. Like I said we were very impressed. Usually we stay at resorts but plan ahead for things like that. We finally tried the pool the last day. Not only was the temperature lovely but very clean and open 8 to 8...which I wish was opened later since we didn't see any kids and hubby and I would have loved a late night dip. Location was 5 min drive to beach/pier/restaurant in one direction AND 5 min drive to historic downtown which had some of the cutest shops. No if you are a shark lover like me ..I highly recommend checking out Earthly Treasures, Shark Frenzy, and Fossil Frenzy all who had nice employees. If you are eaters like us might I recommend Salty Old Dog, Pops Sunset Grill, and Sharky's restaurants. Make sure you walk on the pier too.

Clean rooms , nice location but the A/C was noisy during the night

The motel room was nice, clean and cold. It was taken care of. The bed was a little too hard and the bath tub had a didn't drain fast so toward the end of shower were ankle deep in water. Aside from that we saw three alove coachroaches in the room. I wanted to tell front desk instead of here but no one was there. They we managing through a Ring camera.

We enjoyed the pool and easy check in process. Great stay for the price. Close to the downtown area and beach. Convenient parking.

The windows and doors were not secure at all, gaps between doors and frames and we couldn't close the window. Updates being done but need more. Pool was great.

Nice, older hotel. Beds were to firm for my liking and the pillows were way to thin.

The bed was really hard. These was a lot of people yelling most of the night. The people in the room next to us had a chihuahua barking most of the night and when I brought it to the attention of the front office staff I was told it’s was a service dog…. I’m sorry but true service dogs do not bark all night or react in the manner this dog was reacting.

Horrible checked in went to the room and it stunk horrible like mold. We went straight back to the front desk asked for a refund and they told us to contact hotels.com and I did and they refused the refund then refused to give me the key back to document the mold. So they took my money and provided no service.

Second time I stay in this hotel..clean beds bath. All place is for sure near a lot of places Publix Walgreens beach at 5 minutes.

The staff were friendly and bed was comfortable. However building was in great need of a paint job. Our room door was an old wood door with a lock we could never work. Hadcto get help everytime to open it.

Cockroaches! Cockroaches! Cockroaches! So, my own fault for not checking previous reviews but wouldn’t you think, if just one person complained that there were bugs, you would remedy the situation? Horrible. Disgusting. An infestation. We didn’t stay, go our money back and went to Best Western. For the cherry on top, before switching my first room to the second, the woman at the desk insisted on seeing the roaches in order to take pictures to send to the powers that be. When I walked into the second room and turned the lights on to see them scatter, I demanded my money back. Women can get her photos at any time. Hell, my daughter has a lovey video of the friendly buggers running around!

We only stayed one night.

The style of this hotel is a little different. It looks inviting from the front and has a bistro/restaurant in front. You drive around and park in front of a basic door, at which point you might question whether this is a sketchy decision because it is just a brown wall with doors. However, the room looked newly remodeled. Both the bedroom and bathroom were nice and the bed was really comfortable. It has a refrigerator and microwave and airconditioner worked great. The rooms have doors that open to a courtyard where there is a nice pool and an area to grill or hang out - not lush but nice. Only negative other than initial impression of the outside was we were never able to get any ice--but maybe people are filling coolers. For the price and nearness to beaches( several within 5-15min.) we would stay here again

Good location and clean room.

We rented the 2 queen beds with the kitchenette. We stayed four nights, and went to the pool every evening. The Inn is very clean, and staff was very polite/friendly. It is not very far from any of the beaches near Venice!😊😊😊

I have stayed here twice in the last month, so there ya go! Oh and the owners wife is gorgeous as well.

We enjoyed our brief stay while we traveled in to shell for a day at the beaches near by. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed all of the peace and quiet of the area. A smaller hotel with less folks is such a blessing.The restaurant next door was perfect for the breakfast before heading out to another adventure. The service and food were excellent. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet spot with friendly staff and guests.

I love the location...walking distance to a Publix and a Sports Bar, across the street from a fabulous seafood restaurant (Schuck and Ale) and only a few miles from all the Venice area beaches. There really isn't anything I don't like about it. It's just a great place, very nice people running the hotel. The restaurant, Blu Island Bistro, is amazing. Ate there every day!!! Love Akki, the woman who runs the place!!!

Very clean and pleasant. The room was very clean and you can tell upgrades are being done a little at a time. The courtyard is very nice with French doors on each room to access it. Staff we met were very friendly. Great location to everything.

We stayed in room 102, which didn't have the full kitchenette, but it was in the corner, which gave us more privacy. The staff allowed us to have a late checkout, which was nice. If you want nice and new, this isn't your place...if you want affordable and decent, then stay here.

Needs a little updating

Reception was friendly and inviting. They did place us in a room we didn’t really want and tried not to ask for in an indirect way but didn’t catch on to possible better option. Room was updated and clean. Newer washroom and tiled floors. Lots to do in the area and had a cute courtyard with flowers and palms and pool with seating outside. Front had an adjoining restaurant and lounge area which we wanted to try but didn’t get to. Quiet night and no noise. Good beds that had 2 queen which is not typical so that was nice! Would recommend! Only down side was they didn’t get me a receipt so it’s hard to know if they are charging you extra or going with the price online. Didn’t have tap feature for paying.

I’ll start with the few positives. Venice beach is a short, easy drive down the road. Downtown Venice is also a short drive away. Location is convenient. The pool appeared well maintained and was quiet. The place gets the job done for a reasonable price for a weekend getaway. Now for the negatives. I booked this place for my husband’s birthday weekend. Skimming through the reviews it appeared to be a quaint place to have a beach weekend without breaking the bank. We were deceived. The ceiling in the hotel room was falling apart. The furniture was broken and worn. The screens in the bathroom window were torn. The walls, doors, and trim were badly stained with dirt and who knows what else. I imagine the linens were once white.. they appeared old, worn, and discolored. At night, I did not feel safe. While at the pool with my husband, an employee approached us while FaceTiming family in India. He asked how our day was and if the temperature of the pool was ok. He then asked me to say hello to his family and angled his phone in a way to show my full body in swimwear to the men on the phone. It was uncomfortable and highly unprofessional. We will not return to this property. I hope this review is insightful. I encourage you to spend an extra $200 for a safe and clean place. This place could truly be a gem if management took pride in their establishment.

Very nice pool Blu Sun bistro excellent

This is a great hotel. The young lady that checked me in was wonderful. The room was spacious and had a door that opened up to the courtyard and the pool. The courtyard was beautiful and also so had a grill. The room was very clean. We could only stay one night but would have liked to have stayed longer to enjoy the pool area but had to get moving. We will be back!

This hotel was less than a mile from the beach. It was older, but well kept and clean. The bathrooms were updated. The staff was friendly and accommodating with extra towels when we needed them. We enjoyed our stay.

Didn't say anything about a deposit but when arrived theres 100 deposit staff worked with us although price went up too smh

Have stay here many times, some nice renovations taking place in the last year. Looking good folks. Always friendly staff. Nice quiet place, lots of beach stuff around. See you soom!

The rood we stayed in was ok, however bathroom was not so good. Sink was about to fall off of the wall. The linens are very poor quality. The pool area is really nice.
