The Inn at Venice Beach

what got to me was a very simple request: can you provide a stopper for the tub? could not be fulfilled. offered room switch but we were already unpacked, so a real hassle. Not even an offer to run out and buy a stopper at a local hardware store. Lack of creativity, initiative, and customer service.

Like it was a small hotel. It was a very low key comfortable environment. They did have a problem with the elevator. There are notices posted which let you know it is very,very, slow going down it is moving and you are not trapped. They are working on it.if you saw someone confused standing at the elevator you just let them know what was going on.it opened up alot of conversations between guest. We found it to be a problem that was laughed about.

This small hotel was a gem. With its friendly and accommodating staff (shout out to Alphonso) and its retro/modern decor made it charming. Everything worked well and our room was perfectly clean with great beds for a great sleep! Will definitely stay here again when we visit our family nearby. 👍😊

The hotel is in a great location and definitely kept clean! Parking is easy and convenient. It’s getting a bit dated but was still comfortable. For the price and location I think you can’t do better. Our only complaint was the AC unit. It’s very loud and didn’t have a continuous fan option so it would kick off and on all night and wake us up.

The place and location is amazing, they decided to double charge me for my stay on "accident" and now they wont answer my phone calls. And they also forgot to give me back my security deposit. Very shady practices going on, wouldnt reccomend if youre hoping for crew members that actually care about your finanical well being.

Parking at the hotel is $38/day but if you’re lucky there is street parking.

Great hotel and close to everything!

The property is close to Venice Beach which is a huge plus. Our air conditioner worked but seemed to struggle at times and the fan wouldn't stay on. It's a unique hotel and we wish we were told where the courtyard was when we checked in. We found it the last day. Overall a good stay

The location was perfect for a stay in Venice Beach - 5 minute walk to a bunch of great food options and of course Venice Beach. With all that it was pretty quiet at night meaning you could sleep peacefully Reception and the lovely cleaner greeting you at the door were always friendly and cheerful

Everything was great. Perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff. Cute room. Clean. Quiet nights. Good air conditioning. My only complaint, if I had to be picky, is the bed could be more comfortable.

I was not happy at all. I was charged twice for parking. The elevators were sooo slow. The carpet was dirty. I guess they charge for waters 5 dollars each and im still waiting for the parking issue be resolved. Very rude management when i tried to explain about the parking. Its out rages the way this Motel even makes money. It would been cheaper park outside the hotel i was charge 41.80 dollars but 1 card was 41.00? I will not return ever again

Venice/MDR just off the water, short walk to the pier. This is a great budget choice. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Just know that coffee service doesn’t start til 8!

I had a great stay at the Inn at Venice Beach. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach, which made it super convenient to enjoy the ocean whenever I wanted. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience, and I’d definitely consider staying here again.

It’s a charming building. Only thing that bugged me was the wifi was slow and spotty and you have to pay to upgrade.. they don’t advertise that part. It was a bit frustrating for my work trip.

Great location and a basic but fine hotel. There was an overly strong smell of cleaning products which lingered and was quite unpleasant. Also they charged for an early check in - by 40mins - without letting me know there would be a charge for that. And it's very noisy.

The room was spacious and allowed us to move around freely. The location was also very easy to find. The amenities could have been better.

The hotel has a few clear advantages. It is located very close to the beach, which is convenient, and the neighborhood feels safe and calm - there were no homeless people around, which is a big plus. Room cleaning was decent and done regularly. However, there are quite a few downsides. There are no good grocery stores or pharmacies nearby, which makes daily logistics inconvenient. The rooms feel worn out, and the towels are old. The hotel does not have its own cafe or restaurant, and there are almost no decent places to eat in the surrounding area. The biggest disappointment, which completely ruined my overall impression, happened after check-out. The day after I left, the hotel charged me an additional $10. When I called the hotel, I was told this was for the water in the room. At no point during check-in, nor anywhere in the room, was there any information that the two bottles of water were not complimentary. In a regular store, this water costs about $1 per bottle, but the hotel charged $5 per bottle. This lack of transparency is extremely disappointing. Because of this experience, I will not return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to others.

Noise from outside (Street ) is so terrible, I can not sleep at all.

I had left some medication behind in the mini-fridge. They found it, emailed us and I was able to go back and get it. I’m very grateful.

Great location, every thing was clean, the bed was comfortable. It’s not new, the prices are a bit high (but I think it’s the area and not the place specifically). It was a bit noisy on Friday evening from the next bar but it didn’t interfere my sleep.

The staff is fantastic! The free morning coffee is delicious.

Customer service front desk were exceptional. Near beach

First:The tub was not clean and had an orange grime on it preventing me from using it for a bath. Second: I had a simple question for the night manager my second night about parking and she was rude for no reason. I was surprised because the person who checked me in and everyone else was very warm and friendly. I wasn’t being difficult so it threw me off. Maybe she was having a bad night. Otherwise. The beds were comfy. The balcony was a nice touch.

Great Location. Generally safe feeling area. Restaurants and order out food open to 3am. We loved that! Decor in front Lobby was cool. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and professional. Bed was comfortable. Television had lots of stations. For some reason we were given a handicap bathroom, but was too tired to deal with it.

It's pretty basic, the inside courtyard is nice. The location is great, and the guy at the front desk was kind and helpful. I only stayed one night so not sure about much other than that it was convenient and reasonably priced. The room was a little strange smelling, small and the overall vibe of the hotel feels a little sketchy... make sure you don't get a room facing Washington Bl. as that would probably be noisy...

Needs refurbishment

The room was clean and the bed was pretty comfy. We enjoyed having a table in the room even with the bad view.

We usually stay at larger, brand, hotels. We decided on The Inn because of closeness to the beach. We were so pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and welcoming from our really late arrival (missed flight connection) to our checkout. The welcomed us every time we came back through the lobby. The housekeeping service was beyond wonderful. Our room was cleaned daily and in such a timely manner. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The walkable neighborhood was great, and we did not use Uber excessively. We would stay here again, and would also recommend to Duane family. Top notch experience!!!!

Clean, cozy, and just what we needed for our stay in Venice. The staff were very nice and helpful. Our room faced the street so there was a bit of noise, so if you're sensitive to that you can request a room facing the other way.

The complete staff are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. A shout out to Alphonso, aka Poncho, at the front desk.

We enjoyed the spacious room, walking distance to Venice pier, close to Santa Monica, lots of restaurants close by, and on-site parking (extra fee). Property is older, but well kept.

Fast and easy check in. Very cozy room with large tv. Nice balcony overlooking homes. Absolutely great location only a few blocks from Venice Beach pier. Great restaurants and bars nearby.

Our experience: The stay was fine and the hotel was nice. After we checked an additional $100 was charged to my credit card as housekeeping reported a charging dock missing from the room. We categorically did not take the charging dock so there must have been an error on the hotels behalf. Unfortunately despite multiple messages and a call to the hotel, they are refusing to refund my $100

This place is funky, artistically decoratively pleasing, and very clean. It has a beautiful inner courtyard with tables. Close to a buzzy, lively little dining and bar / club strip close to the beach, but removed enough that the rooms are quiet. My only complaint was that the in-take / check in process required a lot of filling out of forms…more than normally encountered when arriving for a reservation…and I urgently needed to use the bathroom at the time we were checking in.

Well maintained older property giving guests an authentic Venice Beach (original muscle beach) expedience, complete with geriatric hippies in every cafe. I felt like I was back in the 1970s, but with 21st century amenities. If the time warp gets to you, it’s OK as you are only blocks away from the affluence, modernity, and restaurants of Marina Del Ray. Had a great stay.

Amazing place to stay !!!

We stayed here for the weekend and really enjoyed our time. The hotel does charge a parking fee of $30 per day which was fine. This hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and shops and is only a few minute walk away from the beach. The only complaint we had was the toilet was oddly smaller but we really loved it here. We would stay there again.

Standards lower than in my four previous stays. Lost cable and internet for more than a day with little or no communications from management. Paid for parking but when I returned after a late performance parking was impossible, when I asked the staff they just laughed at me.

It felt more like an apartment then a hotel it gave it more of a home feeling which I loved slept like a baby!! Staff were super super sweet and nice. The beach is like two blocks away. There is a lot of eating options less then a min away all walking distance over all the perfect location. Even the Venice canals was a beautiful walk which is also literally right there.

The room was very spacious and the semi separated room on the mezzanine was very nice. The outdoor area was nice for breakfast but we never had the chance to use. Overall pleasant stay but the AC didn’t work well and it was getting really hot at night making it hard to sleep. The sofa bed was ok but not super comfy and there was no microwave - the sink was very tiny. Location is a bit far from the busy restaurant and stores area but very close to the canals.

Good hotel for price, near beach and lots of eateries. We had a loft room with plenty of private space for two couples for a short weekend stay. Two televisions, one upstairs and one down. Second bed on bottom floor was a pull out couch. Friends say it was actually very comfy. Shampoo and body wash dispensers provided in the shower, good water pressure, separate sink area for washing hands, ironing board and iron provided. This hotel was hard to spot from front, be aware when walking to/from beach or restaurants. Bars and restaurants closed early for a weekend, apparently not an after hours party area.

This place was excellent. The price point for being so close to the beach and all the food and entertainment spots nearby is unmatched.

Great location, friendly helpful staff, big clean room, comfortable bed. The only thing that lets the hotel down is they charge you $5 if you drink the small bottles of water they leave in the room. (There is a note on them stating this) why they don’t leave a cheaper make FOC is beyond us. Go to the lovely supermarket next door and buy a big bottle for $2.50.

I emailed with the hotel manager and she said she refunded the money to Expedia and that I should connect with you to complete the refund. We thought this room was cute. Like the little courtyard we could access from our 1st floor room. Parking is rough and small water of bottle is $5 so buy is from the market next door.

The room was clean and spacious and the bed super comfortable. The hotel itself was clean and well cared for with ample parking. The surrounding area felt a little tired, but with good amenities and some great venues for food amd drink.

The manager was very nice as he saw I had a long day of travel and upgraded my room. There is not a restaurant but so many walkable places and a close convenience store. Despite being in Venice, it is extremely quiet. Loved that it had a tub as so many hotels don’t now. Will stay again.

Mini fridge is available but doesn’t cool down enough to a point of getting your beverage/food cold; it’s just cool temperature. We complained three times, got a technician looking at it and even changing with another brand unit, but the issue is with the model itself. Staff was prompt to act on it. The bedroom doesn’t have a microwave, neither the lobby; you gotta ask staff to use the one from the staff room (it’s ok but not convenient). We attempt to go for a walk towards the beach but didn’t feel safe enough and went back to the hotel. Maybe during high season it gets better as it gets busier. - staff: 5/5 - ⁠cleaning: 5/5 - ⁠cost: 4/5 - ⁠location: 4/5 - ⁠amenities: 2.5/5

Great location! It’s an older place and the walls were a little thin. We were there in Feb midweek; it might get a little loud on a summer weekend. Room was good size.

I paid for a premium ocean front room with a view; unfortunately, there were people on top of me, which is the roof top, who were jumping and yelling for hours past closing time of the rooftop. I did let the first desk know about the noise disturbance but they do not have security or a way to tame rowdy guests. I had to hear Toxic by Britany Spears over and over again which was kind of amusing. Good location but they do not provide free parking.

Great location, very walkable to the beach. Room was clean. However it was very noisy - we could hear other guests in their rooms, everything from talking to watching tv. We only stayed one night so it was fine, but would recommend earplugs if you’re staying longer!

The service was outstanding, and Alfonzo truly made us feel welcomed from the start. From check-in to our early morning departure, the staff consistently exhibited professionalism, offering attentive assistance with kindness and meticulous attention to detail throughout our entire stay.

I could not get internet service even though front desk people tried. Alfonso really tried. He was authentic. My visit was noisy, hungry, (had to walk two blocks for a cup of coffee) and incommunicado for my business. The only good thing was the housekeeping lady who was great. Pillows were good too. Bathroom sucked with old-fashioned tub Ill be sure not to stay there next time and to post this on my blog site Fix the damn place. Get some vending machines or have mini bars. If i wanted a soda at 1am your hotel couldn't even get that. You guys should refund my money even if you are very near the Beach, your high prices did not justify your sucky hotel.

I loved staying here! It's very comfortable, clean, and safe with a very hospitable staff. Lovely view from 3rd story. Super comfy bed and pillows and fabulous shower. I loved the short walk to get coffee at Cow's End, the pier/beach, and the beautiful canals and bridges lit up for the holidays. Highly recommend.

Great location, mostly why I selected the hotel. Cute decor, and again, great location. Unfortunately they had no microwave on site, not even in lobby. Bed was not a Queen, it was a full-sized bed. As in something a teenager would use, not two adults. I asked for a couple bottles of water because we drank the ones we had, and he said "five dollars each"...Really chintzy. They were small bottles, and I was informed the two in our room we had already were five dollars each. Totally a ripoff. This is a nice hotel, but super cheap with water and no way to heat food. These seem like pretty basic amenities IMO. I'll try elsewhere next time.
