Motel 6 Van Buren, AR

I let my guard down to save a little money, never again! Whoever has rated this place at even an ok is sadly mistaken! They should be ashamed at charging $90 a night!

Parking lot was full of the cars of people living there. Loud noise all night from car/ motorcycle engines.

Beds are nice and comfortable, the ac and heating unit was up to par, and it was in a nice and quiet area.

We would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean and quiet with nice faux wood floors and a comfortable bed. Don’t expect a coffee maker or hair dryer in the room but there’s a refrigerator and a microwave and good coffee in the lobby. With a great location, friendly staff and half the price of most other places, we were very happy with our stay.

It was very clean. Nice staff. Noisy though. Walls were thin. Hard bed. Soft pillows. Great cooling. Hot shower. Had fridge and microwave and decent cable.

No coffee pot, microwave didn't work properly, shower did not work, key cards stopped working, beds were noisy as heck and not comfortable. Other rooms were a lot nicer. The staff was pleasant though.

My room didn't have any rags or towels it had one towel no soap or shampoo

Asked for a late check out and housekeeping walked in while I was in bed. Then kept asking me to leave. My truck got a note that I shouldn’t have parked where I was told I could. Seemed like I was an inconvenience

Doing our stay a man that I’m assuming that works there or a friend of the owners walked to my sister car and also mines snapping pictures of our tags the lady in the office didn’t know what she was doing we booked our reservations online when we made it to the property it was only one room available

The office people was rude. House keeping we never saw. We kept having to the front desk to get towels and trash bags and the office person was rude. We had to take out our Owen trash because they didn't.

The lady at check in wasn't super nice, apparently it was noted on my account that items were missing in June. I was unaware, the cleaner never restocked them once they were grabbed. So she almost didn't let me check in as I don't have a credit card. The sink didn't have hot water at all. At check out my room had to be double checked, then I was told I should clean it up during my stay. There was a small spill on the blanket, could easily be cleaned but I didn't have hot water. We used the trash cans, anything extra we took out. I will never stay here again.

Rooms are nice staff is friendly

It was fairly clean. There isn’t a hairdryer in the room. Check-in staff was not friendly at all. I do not smoke, my husband does and after a long drive in he was smoking in the parking lot while I checked in. I asked for a non-smoking room. This has never been an issue in any other place we have stayed, he smokes outside, even at home. She tells me I should get a smoking room (I can’t stand the smell) because if he brings the smell into a non-smoking room then we will be charged a cleaning fee. I explained that he smokes outside everywhere we go and she again states we will be charged a cleaning fee.

Staff was all good except one lady who is the owners wife she ruins the whole place

The rooms are clean, but my feet were getting black from the floor; so i used their hand towel and bar of soap to clean it.. soo much better Their coffee stops being available at 10 am. Go to the 10 box store they sell tasters choice instant, that's the best instant coffee and actually tastes better than their coffee.

It was a place to sleep at a very low price. The reviews are misleading. I’ve stayed in way better Motel 6. I believe the reviews were lies or “paid actors”. The front desk staff were friendly as they should. The room was not updated. It was musty and the furniture was scuffed and scratched. To top it off I found a q-tip on the floor.

Large comfortable bed with space in room to move around. Large dog friendly. Easy access to interstate. Smooth check in with refreshments for purchase in lobby. Strong odor in the room seemed to be coming from the AC. Fridge worked but the stand was broken so the fridge rattled and wobbled throughout the night. No clear area for dogs to walk/use bathroom.

There is NO rainfall showerhead - not that we cared, but someone might. There were NO toiletries other than 2 cheap bars of soap. I'm still trying to figure out if the bug guts on the wall were a bonus. The room smelled so strongly of Pine Sol that we had to leave the door open upon arriving. Turns out the floor was wiped with it, BUT NEVER RINSED!! I wiped the floors down to kill the stench (because Pine Sol can be overpowering), and the FLOORS WERE FILTHY! We asked for 2 QUEEN beds, but we received 2 FULL beds INSTEAD. And the morning we checked out, our key cards quit working. When we told the woman at the front desk, she argued that they worked on her machine. I couldn't care less. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!

Very clean room got the privacy I was needing and check-in and check-out was a breeze. They come along way from even just a few short months ago. I'll definitely be staying there again.

Large beds Large T.V's Not being able to rent the room with booking .com for the entire stay I was there. Maid service only came to my room twice when I stayed for 4 days. The website for this motel 6 in Van Buren,Arkansas

Tia or whatever her name, has got to be the most unprofessional, untrained, rude, non people skill having person I’ve ever had to deal with and that says a lot considering what I do for a living. She is very confrontational and likes to over talk the paying guest. I had proof that she was wrong ( from Booking.com) and yet she was still very rude, belligerent, and even denied the refund that I was due. I had proof from my bank that my money was indeed taken and an email from the booking site stating the same and that the property was responsible for said refund. Yet once again Tia was very rude about the situation and even hung up on me when I called days later to follow up. I would not recommend anyone stay here if she’s the person on duty…take your money elsewhere!

For the money you can’t beat this

The best Motel 6 I have visited! The rooms were clean and neat, and there is a good diner right nextdoor. No-frills, but also no complaints.

Nothing staff was horrible. I will NEVER stay here again. Group of people that live there were in the parking lot in the back smoking meth. Garbage all over the parking lot. I got yelled at for parking in a parking spot by the lady that runs it. Threatened to call the police on me for being there after I paid for my weekend. They also refused my money to be returned to me.

Also, they charged us $10 to park a Jeep truck and utility trailer in their gravel lot. When we were driving around the motel, there was an open space (parallel parking style) for us to pull into that we were able to pull straight out of on the side of the building. I've never been asked to pay for marking at a place like this and really wanted to go ask for my $10 back, but we just wanted to leave. There also seemed to be quite a few homeless people wandering around and going up the stairs to the second level rooms. We couldn't tell if they were just wandering around or if they were actually staying there, but there were also a number of empty shopping carts in various places around the back of the building.

We think someone siphoned our gas. The staff were wonderful.

When we got there the front desk seemed to be talking to a staff. I waited about 10 min aThen she told me that there was basically No amenities as under New Mangmt !!!!! So we then left!!

Had a decent night's rest, and the A/C blew nice and cold. There were a few questionable looking characters hanging around in the early morning. Tough to say if they were crackheads or overworked day laborers.

This motel is old and run-down. Lots of dings on the old furniture. Didn't look clean. The carpet appeared like I didn't want to walk on it barefoot. One of the workers behind the counter couldn't understand English. No breakfast, but the adjoining cafe, Dee's, was very quaint and nice. Would never stay here again, but I might drive to Dee's for breakfast if I was close enough.

I liked the hotel not being near a highway, meaning, quiet. I believe the rooms are quiet. The only issue i had on the first night of two was the room above me was loud all night. I think this may have been unusual because I heard no noise the 2nd night. The cleaning chemicals lingers in the room and anything personal in the room stinks when you leave. I brought my own air purifier and it helped quite a bit. I probably would stay again because of costs and location. Bring an air purifier and towels if you stay. The staff are very friendly.

Be sure to have a cell phone when you arrive to check in. On site manager is not always in office. There is a sign with phone number to call in such a case. Fast food available nearby. Coffee is available in the morning at office.

Close to Interstate, plenty of parking, quiet, friendly, helpful staff.

For the price it can’t be beat. I traveled with 4 adults and 2 dogs, all went well checkin and checkout was a breeze.

The stay was great after a long drive!

Comfortable and quiet place to stay for the night. Bed was very clean and comfortable. We could have used another pillow for relaxing and watching TV (only had 3). The only bad thing was the floors were filthy and the bath mat was not clean. The refrigerator was not very cold even when turned up all the way.

One of the better Motel 6s I’ve stayed at. It does the job of providing you a place to sleep the night after traveling or working.

I traveled between California and Tennessee and this motel six in Van Buren is one of my stops both going and coming. I travel with my dogs and am a avid motel six customer this particular Van Buren location is very clean nice and the staff is great.

Easy to park; just got a weird feeling in the area. Not for the scent-sensitive (over powering clearing product smell)

Bed was clean, sink was not clean and apparently someone had removed the battery from the smoke detector.

The beds were advertised as queen size through hotels.com, but upon arrival the staff said they were "full-plus" only. The beds seemed even smaller than a full, which would have been okay but the matresses were very uncomfortable. The hotel appears to have moisture issues with condensation building around the doors and heating unit that make the floor wet and slippery. I had to bring my dirty towels to the front office to exchange for new ones, as I wrongly assumed the housekeeping staff supplies new towels. I've learned from this experience that you get what you pay for. It's fine for a single man passing through, not recommended for a family with small children.

Very friendly staff. This was my second visit to this property. The beds were some of the most comfortable available during my trip. We stayed on the back side of the building which was quieter than the front. There are several dining options within a few miles.

The staff were very pleasant. The hotel room was clean with fresh and well-maintained linens. I would just recommend bringing earplugs as there is very little sound-proofing to the outside and you can here everything that happens in the parking area in front of your hotel room door.

Weird smell in room, turned AC on smell became unbearable, very chemical smelling. Tried wearing a face mask to sleep, too hot without AC. Needless to say, between awful smell, hot room and very hard bed, no sleep. Granted we did not contact desk, we were checking in late in the first place. Probably should have at least asked for a remedy, different room.

We were up for the Arkansas game, the hotel itself is in an ok location kind of tucked back off the road. The rooms were filthy and the amount of noise coming from other rooms was disturbing. However, the guy at the front was super nice and extremely accommodating, we got there a little early to check in before heading up to Fayetteville and he made sure the room was clean and ready. Very nice. The room was about par for what we paid, broken items, not the cleanest and the fridge in there sounds like a semi truck. But for the price and one night stay it was doable.

Not bad at all

Even with the staff still training, check-in was a breeze. Ample parking is available on property. The layout of the place is intuitive, and finding the room was simple. The room was well laid-out, clean, and stocked with the basics (soap, towels, TV with HDMI, outlets with USB connection). The only downside to the bed was the metal base, which can make some noise with shifts during the night and bumping it with your feet by accident. The climate control in the room is very effective, and the hotel is set far enough back from the road that traffic noise isn't an issue. Plenty of fast food restaurants and other amenities in the surrounding area.

Service was excellent. They offered us coffee in the lobby in the morning. We always appreciate having a fridge and microwave.

This motel is usually the best we have stayed at but when we asked for clean towels the 2nd night the maid said on and we never got them. Then the 2nd day we got back from activity late and the key didn't work. Had to go to the office and get it redone but had left the 2nd day earlier and it worked. Beds need upgraded.

The rooms needed a major clean. I walked barefoot to the bathroom and my feet were nasty. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up so that was a litting inconvenient for my husband and son.

I've got up and check out early. We couldn't take it no more. I told the staff about how bad it stinks; he told me it could be the air conditioner and he try another air freshener.

I went to spend some time in Van Buren, AR, near my son And I was only spending the weekend so I thought Motel 6 would be fine. I was wrong. It wasn’t a part of town. It was off of 540 and Alma Highway sketchy it not enough parking. Had a family emergency. The next day didn’t find out about it till after checkout time and they wouldn’t give me a refund so I got screwed out of that I asked for a non-smoking room and my bedspread was full of holes from a smoker, never use hotels.com again or Motel 6 again. I got attitude from the weekend crew because I had asked for a refund because I had a family emergency. No, you have to go through hotels. Actually she said you have to go through Expedia, which I didn’t use Expedia. She could’ve taken in consideration that I had an emergency. So if it’s a business trip, spend the extra money go to a nice hotel. Do not use this one because it is crap.

Yes, Motel 6’s are old and have some signs of it. If you want cosmetics outside post $50/100 more and go elsewhere. Our room was very clean with plugs for electrical devices, frig and micro, etc. the sink water did not get above warm but it didn’t matter to us as we weren’t showering. The front desk woman was a dear. The ice machine was working (many on our 6 wk cross country were not). We’d stay here again, no problem.

It was a smoking room which I didn’t know it would be, it was very smelly. No breakfast only coffee. Toilet didn’t flush properly, room was humid which made the sheets feel damp. Was not the cleanest room, and glad I didn’t take in my personal belongings. It was a bed for the night nothing more nothing less, if you can make it to another place I would do so.

Booked this place for my parents. It had everything they needed, except for shampoo. Providing small shampoo packets would be a plus. It was clean, safe, and convenient for them. They would stay here again. They loved the attached restaurant that was walkable, with great food and kind service.

The room was clean, air conditioning was great. Staff was friendly. Will be using them when I come back to the Old Timers Steampunk Festival next year.

In the other hand, the front desk Kasey was super nice, helpful and made this stay not be all bad. She took the time to accomodated our family. But the rooms do need more of a thorough clean as well. Room ok Customer service exceptional!

No pool. No breakfast. The side door was broken so anyone could see all into the building at any time. They played loud, non hotel like music loudly in the hallways through the night. They also could not find my hotels.com reservation and I had to spend hours trying to help. Zero enjoyment. I did appreciated the woman who let us into the room with us providing the email And confirmation number from hotels.com. Overall A stressful debacle however.

The chair by the bed was dirty, stained, I didn't even want to sit in it. Really needs to be replaced.

The room was good. We were looking for a place to stay for the eclipse and they didn't charge too much. The staff was very nice. They put a gift bag in the room with some snacks that was a nice touch. Overall it was a good stay.

The best motel from this brand I have seen. The welcome, the room size, cleanliness and service was excellent. The only minor issue is that the towels were a bit thread bare. Would definitely recommend this motel to any traveller.

After my husband gave our baby a bath, he pulled the stopper up out of the drain. Some kind of copper looking stuff started coming up out of the drain. Because of this we booked the next night for a non smoking room so we could move rooms. When I showed the woman in the office she was nonchalant and said she'd have maintenance take a look. Then when I asked about moving rooms she said she couldn't move us at first. Then I told her we booked a non smoking instead of a smoking room and she replied that doesn't matter I can't move you I have reservations coming in. And I told her when I booked the room there were 3 available before I confirmed the booking. She said she had to get permission and would let us know if she got it. So we just cancelled the booking and made a reservation for somewhere else. When we were leaving she came up and asked if we were ready to move rooms and we told her we were actually just gonna leave. I recommend the Van Buren Inn. They're cheaper and so much nicer with way better customer service.

This was my second time staying at the Van Buren Motel 6 for a work trip (my first visit was in 2018), and the place is just as solid as I remembered. The staff is friendly, the room was clean and well maintained, and the bed was cozy. As a solo female traveler, I’d like to note that I felt safe at this motel. If I find myself in Van Buren again, I will choose this motel!

The room was not immaculately clean, but it was decently clean. The hotel clerk was very friendly and helpful. The motel was a nice, convenient place for us to stay.

Good room for the night, but the floor in the room hadn’t been mopped recently and was dirty.

It is a nice motel, great for people with pets. The check in clerk is very nice. No issues. We stayed for 3 nights and will definitely return to this motel whenever we are in Van Buren and need a place to stay.

Old nasty

We had issues with our card room keys. They couldn’t make the key card when we got there and then the next day it wouldn’t work when we came back from shopping. Also no elevator to get to second floor. Not enough parking spaces for customers. Would not recommend staying here.

We thought we were getting queen beds and they were smaller. Had 3 people and 2 struggled with the small bed. Not good sleep. Dead bugs in the bathroom. You get what you pay for. No shampoo’s conditioner, just a small bar of soap. No tissue and the thinnest toilet paper ever. Will not do a motel 6 again.

The sheets were dirty. Open bar of soap was put back in the wrapper and maid put back to use again. Trash behind head of bed. We really liked this motel before but tbis time was Very Disappointing and we had a baby with us this time. May not stay there again due to it being dirty.
