The pictures do not show how bad the place really is. Clearly the conference center had shut down and the hotel had been sold to another party. It’s going through incomplete renovations and was in disrepair. It was so bad the night that we were there that multiple guest were leaving their rooms due to terrible conditions and obviously someone called it in and the city put a “Closed” notice on the door.

The breakfast choices were fantastic. Juice / coffee / tea / eggs / biscuits & gravy / fruit / pastries. Everything you could want for breakfast was provided. There is NO WAY this is a Wyndham hotel. It meets zero standards. If a hotel is under construction, it shouldn't be listed as available. There was NO pool / no hotel bar / no hotel food available. The room was huge, but absolutely disgusting! Our sheets had hair and nasty wet stains ... GROSS! We drove 9 hours and were welcomed with this ??!! :-( We asked for another room and at least the bed was clean. But the ice bag was moldy and gross, the bathroom was falling apart. It took 2 of us to turn on the water in the shower (whomever installed left huge screws in the way of the nozzle). The drain plugs did not fit in the drain holes. The towel hook was just the back screwed into the wall. The pipes and water lines were showing. This was a night mare, but what are you going to do after driving 9 hours. YUKK. Perhaps this will be a nice place when construction is complete. We will not be back.

The only good thing going for this hotel is the proximity to the freeway. Cockroach infested. We stayed for two nights and saw more than a dozen German cockroach nymphs and adults. That's reason enough not to stay. Other good reasons are that the unsecured WiFi is not connected to the internet and cell service inside is not good. The air conditioning doesn't work. The building looks abandoned - the Wyndham branding has been removed from the outside of the hotel, there is no signage. The view from our room was the interior of the lobby including a drained fountain. The hotel attempted to cancel my reservation and made me pay in advance in order to attempt booking a higher paying last minute customer for graduation weekend, even then, the hotel was not at all near capacity for a busy weekend. The renovation work looks like a child did it, the tiling is unfinished and the vanity was not attached correctly to the wall. My husband went to hang something in the closet and the safe nearly fell on him, it wasn't attached to the wall. They ran out of food for breakfast and piles of trash accumulated. There is no pride in ownership of this hotel, they need to close it - a real poor reflection of the brand and Champaign, I would be embarrassed to work here.

Nice staff. But clearly they’re working with very little resources.
- 4/5
This hotel seems to be in transition which was also the case when i stayed here last hear. It is an easy location. The rooms was very clean. The staff was very nice.
- 1/5
This is the 3rd time I’m reaching out for a partial or full refund! This location was deplorable. No WiFi so my husband lost money and time! One elevator was broken the whole stay! Holes in walls where the security door lock should be, and our bathroom was dirty! We never saw housekeeping in two days. The front desk could not help! This left a very bad taste in my mouth.
- 2/5
The only single elevator “working” was slow and not safe. The door’s sensor was broken and would’ve closed on me if I didn’t jump into the elevator after realizing the door was about to crush me. Another guest already inside the elevator said she also had the same experience with the elevator door earlier in the day. I had a two night stay and my room was not cleaned after my first day. I was out all day and evening attending graduation ceremony and activities. My room was missing a fridge and coffee maker. The breakfast area was unkempt.
- 2/5
The breakfast was good. Only 1 elevator was operating. That elevator was barely functional. I was traveling with elderly parents and stairs weren't an option. The first room I had didn't have a TV.

The rooms are old, there is no fitness facility, even though they claim there is one, and the pool was not available for health reasons.

Staff was really nice. Front desk was quick during checkin and checkout air conditioning was not working but was offered an additional room for the night so we did not have to pack up. Room was remodeled but not done very well.

Nothing. The were many holes in the wall in the common areas and in our room. There was patching done on some walls but it was a poor job. Wall paper was pealing off the walls in our room. No hand soap in our room. No washcloths among the linens. Drain partially plugged in bathroom sink. Carpet was filthy. If you walked barefoot on the carpet and got in the shower, dirt literally rinsed off your feet, disgusting. Missing the sitting chair in the room. Thermostat did nothing (so no heat). No body wash or shampoo in the shower. One elevator was broken down and appears to have been that way for weeks. The common area was loud. A bunch of college or high school kids were hanging out in the common area until after midnight. Muzac on the sound system 24/7 and could hear it in your room. Overall the place smelled dank and musty. We would have left immediately but it was 8:30 and we were exhausted from being on the road all day so we toughed it out. I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure across the USA and I can say that in thirty years of travel this is the worst place I have ever stayed. It appears that at one time it must have been a beautiful hotel but it has fallen into disrepair and mismanagement. It is so far gone I would recommend bulldozing it.

No AC working in the room, elevators broken, no staff came to clean the room out of the 3 days we stayed.
- 1/5
Pool was closed by the health department, smells like mold once you walk into the property. No boxed tissue in the room and when you ask for boxed tissue they claim they don’t have it and give you toilet paper. Bar is closed also. Door moved every time someone closed the stairway door so it sounds like someone is trying to get into your room at night. One elevator is out of order and the working elevator seems like a death trap. Very poorly and cheaply ran. No maids available. Continental breakfast is decent but I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
The internet needs to be better. We had a lot of issues with it. We also got locked out of our room before 9:00 on Sunday.
- 1/5
Under construction for three years now. Also, only one working elevator again for three years.
- 3/5
Needed to change rooms because there was poop in the toilet. Elevator was broke & room was partially in a remodel
- 1/5
When your Uber driver drops you off and asks, are you sure this is where you’re staying? it says something. No water in the pool. No in room coffee. Breakfast buffet looked ok but we did not eat it. This hotel apparently is undergoing a “rebranding” with Wyndham. That was not indicated on the website or Expedia anywhere. Parking lot was poorly lit. Only one elevator worked and the other has apparently been down for over a year. Room key cards did not work second day of stay. No hand soap in rooms. When we asked the front desk for some they said they don’t have any and gave us body wash. Major safety hazard as one of the stairwell fire exit doors was locked and not accessible. Major price gouge and false advertising.
- 3/5
The breakfast was good.
- 3/5
Bed was comfortable. No microwave or hairdryer. Staff was nice and friendly.
- 4/5
Good room. Breakfast was good. Still undergoing remodeling and needs some additional TLC.
- 1/5
Dirty. One elevator that is as slow as molasses
- 2/5
Decor is shoddy, cheap and rundown. Recent renovations clearly cut corners. Outdoor landscaping looks derelict. Beds were comfortable, pillows were also comfortable.
- 2/5
The outside of the property is in disrepair, the pool and lobby bar were closed during our stay. We didn’t get our room cleaned or additional towels and wash clothes during our two day stay.
- 1/5
Upsaled room to around $500 per night. No TV remote, hot room, uncomfortable bed with no shower gel. In addition to unrepaired property damage. We are having a difficult time receiving our refund credit with Hotels.com. Way too much time spent going back and forth between Hotels.com and Wyndham to get our refund approved.
- 1/5
We checked in without issue. We got into the room and there was one towel and no soap for the two of us. We did go to the front desk because the phone in the room has no labels as to what to dial for housekeeping, or anything else. I tried "0" but it didn't do anything.
- 1/5
Outside and inside of hotel not well maintained or clean. Looks/feels like it will close soon. Elevators do not work well. Had to take stairs to third floor to avoid getting stuck in elevator and found out stairs only accessible from outside the building and the door to stairwell is not locked or secured via key card! Room was run down with wallpaper peeling off walls and bathroom not ready for guests, soap dispensers empty. All this for a very expensive rate that is only attainable on homecoming weekend. Avoid this hotel! I would like a refund!
- 1/5
Tried to contact the property with no answer. Was not able to cancel and they took my money anyways. Very upset.
- 1/5
I left, refused to stay due to being filthy. They offered me 2 different rooms. One had hair all over bathroom and spilled red makeup. The other room had sticky candy on nightstand, brown marks on toilet, no wash cloths, and used hand towel. DON'T STAY HERE!
- 1/5
2. Cockroaches/bugs in the room 3. No room cleaning (i stayed 4 nights) 4. No breakfast at 9:30 am
- 1/5
It was the worst place we have ever stayed. It was dirty and rundown. The air conditioning was so dirty it wouldn’t work we saw a roach. We cancelled the other 2 nights and went home early which cut our vacation short.
- 1/5
Do not stay here the elevator has not worked in 2 years and the a/c is out in half of the rooms it needs to be shutdown i wanted my money back that night but they would only refund me the first night only one bath towel one hand towel and one wash cloth in the room per room
- 1/5
I have never stayed in such an awful place. People were sleeping in the lobby because the rooms had no AC. 400 room, bars on the windows. No towels. Elevator worked sometimes. Staff wouldn't take care of anything. Lines of people complaining. The owner and family lived there. Hookers and drug dealers using the hotel.
- 1/5
The air conditioning did not work, the rooms had no towels or soap or shampoo the staff didn’t seem to care about any of the guests concerns
- 2/5
Requested a room with Queen bed. Lobby guy said didn’t have one available. There were literally 3 cars in the parking lot. Elevator was out of order , apparently has been for months. The bar and restaurant were closed . Pool was very dirty . So didn’t risk catching some skin infection. Room was not vacuumed well and no hand soap in the bathroom. You have to go outside to access rooms through a door that is not locked and unsafe for guests. Stairway is nasty garbage on steps. Peeling pant and rust everywhere. Hallway to rooms smelled horrible. The photos on the web site must have been taken by a Hollywood fiction photographer. They know the issues, but it’s obvious they just don’t care. Wish I would have read some of the reviews before booking. Lots of the same complaints.
- 1/5
The absolute worse experience I ever had
- 1/5
Elevator was down, had to walk outside for stairs because no stairs inside. The internet was down which didn’t allow me to extend my stay. There were no blackout curtains so the light from the lobby was in my face the entire time.
- 1/5
terrible hotel
- 1/5
There was no one at the front desk for a while upon arrival. Even though reservations were made online there was paperwork to fill out. It’s literally a hotel stay I’m not buying a house. The pool area is out in the open in the lobbyish area and the pool was extremely cold. The facility itself was beyond cold. Once we got to our room there weren’t enough towels. My daughter went to ask for extra shampoo and they gave her one. The facility itself is empty. No one to really see who comes in our out. It just overall was a bad experience. I will definitely never stay here again.
- 1/5
This room had no fan, no working remote for the tv, no phone in the room. The pool was closed for repairs. No heat or air conditioning. The room was extremely hot.
- 2/5
Old not updated
- 1/5
Awful
- 1/5
Horrible, double charged, no hot water staff thought it was funny, also lost power
- 1/5
Was charged two times, lost power to portions of the room, lost hot water for more than a day. The pool was out of order yet still payed full price. The breakfast was rarely refilled.
- 2/5
Elevator broken.
- 2/5
Broken elevator, non working pool, no bar area as advertised, unclean and outdated exercise fac
- 3/5
No elevator service or maid services. I am 71 years old and had to walk up a back stairs to get to the room the whole weekend. No compensation or apologies
- 2/5
Elevator was broken for entire stay and we were on the 5th floor, the stairs that had to be used were outside the building making it even more inconvenient. Also, the pool was not working. TV had ongoing reception problems.
- 2/5
No working elevators and no towels. These are pretty basic things in a hotel. We had to walk outside in the rain to an unsecured exterior door and climb 3 flights of stairs every time we left or went to breakfast. Housekeeping left no replacement towels. Various broken things in the room. Musty smell throughout this 1980s era hotel. I guess they only need to do the bare minimum and still sell out for Illini events. The seemingly permanent elevator situation seems like an ordinance problem.
- 1/5
Elevator don’t work so all night long I heard the stair door open and close, staff talking loud and stomping up and down the stairs. It was one of the worst stays in any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I will NEVER stay there again!
- 2/5
I spent over $1200 for two nights (UIUC mom’s weekend-rates crazy all over Champaign) and the hotel did not have working elevators. I was put up on the 5th floor, had to walk outside to access stairs, in the rain, and make my way up to my room. It’s not the end of the world have to deal with stairs, but I stayed here last year, and one of the two elevators were out of order then. So lesson learned, this is a chronic issue. It’s a pretty decent hotel, clean, and staff was very nice and apologetic re elevator issue. I just paid too much for this. Hauling all my luggage up the stairs after a long drive and then making two trips up and down when leaving because I bought too much stuff while I was here. Note to self, no Wyndham Garden Center next year. Too bad, the beds really are super comfy.
- 2/5
Hot water didn’t work in the bathroom sink, towels taken by housekeeper but not replaced was left with hand towels and bath mat for showering. Elevator was broken all weekend had to go up five flights of stairs and access door wasn’t locked for guest and staff safety.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 2/5
Informed day of that hotel was in renovation so no restaurant or bar. Upon checking in was told elevator was out but too be repaired in hours. Elevator was out all weekend. Housekeeping cleaned but did not replenish anything. They upcharged roommates ridiculously for University weekend and refused to discount for all of the issues
- 1/5
If I could give this property a negative 10 I would. Checked in with my luggage for a long mom’s weekend at my daughter’s university. I had just had surgery 5 days prior and have 2 bad knees, only to be told by staff that the elevators were out of service and no time frame on when they would be fixed. Not only were they not able to move me to the first floor, they put me on the 5th floor. Changing hotels was not an option as the whole town had been booked up out for months and I had booked this property a year ago with the best rates. I reluctantly took the room thinking there’s no way the elevator could be out of service another day and that it would be promptly fixed. Wow was I wrong. Later that night another mom told me she stayed there last year and was afraid to use the elevator when it WAS working! This shows a complete lack of maintenance on the property owner! So the entire weekend, I had to walk up five flights of stairs and the ONLY access to the stairs was OUTSIDE and it was raining all weekend! Not only that, but the stairs were only supposed to be accessible to those with a key card but the door was UNLOCKED the entire weekend to the outside which made me feel VERY unsafe. The light in the stairwell was flickering and the stairs soon became very dirty due to the high traffic. Complaints the entire weekend fell on deaf ears and I was suddenly ghosted when I asked for compensation. How can this place continue to operate with lack of ADA compliance?
- 1/5
The elevator was broken for our entire stay. We had to exit the building, then use the stairs from the outside. Our room phone was not connected and we were unable to call the front desk. We were not given enough towels, and then had to wait over 30 minutes in the morning because there were no towels available yet from the laundry. Our prices were double the normal price because of UIUC Mom’s Weekend, and this was a disappointing stay.
- 3/5
Elevator was not working. Pool was not available. A smell throughout the facility, but less so in the room.
- 1/5
to speak of and place was mostly deserted. Time for an overhaul or shutdown .
- 2/5
this property is obviously having a lack of capital investment. numerous issues
- 1/5
Our room was boiling. The AC did not work. Our floors were dirty. Only one working elevator. The pool was not open. No one had any answers or solutions when presented with any these issues or then letting Wyndham corporate know.
- 3/5
I booked here before I knew they were in the middle of renovations. The hotel lobby is gorgeous and the staff extremely accomadating. Our room was ok but there was no soap and the A/C was not working. We reported this and were moved to an upgraded room. Still no soap and skimpy on towels. The one working elevator was very slow and made me nervous. Restaurant is currently closed and the continental breakfast not thr best, but I feel once the renovations are done it will be a very nice experience.
- 2/5
This hotel is a decaying piece of the 90s. Grungy all over the place, slow elevator that makes you wonder, and gross breakfast option.
- 1/5
Old, dirty and dingy hotel. Elevators are downright scary and we were only on the 2nd floor.
- 3/5
The pool was freezing! When I inquired about it, I was told the pool heater was broken and that the water temperature was 50°. I would have preferred to have been told that at check-in.
- 4/5
Older and worn, staff was great. Food options very limited.
- 1/5
Hotel has no sign on it wasn’t a soul staying there and was told they were remodeling, but I asked for upgrade room which they did not have he gave me one. It was worse than the one I was already in also I seen roaches no way will be staying there ever again. I checked right out right after checking in
- 2/5
facility was not good condition
- 1/5
We could not make it due to getting influenza. I contacted via email and received no response about cancellation.
- 2/5
Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet the mark. The pictures online did not accurately display the state of the hotel. Also, even though there are pictures of a hot tub, it is cemented over and the pool was so cold that we could not swim. The pool was also very dirty. Our room had beetles and mold along the edges of the tub in the bathroom.
- 4/5
Renovations were in progress and one elevator that needed replacing was working
- 3/5
The staff is usually very nice and good rates. Unfortunately, the property needs a lot of work, and the work that has been done shows poor craftsmanship.
- 4/5
Pool could have been a little warmer. a little garbage from two rooms were put in the aisle all night.
- 5/5
It was so comfy!
- 5/5
It was noisy with sounds from the pool
- 5/5
It was quiet and easy to get to….
- 5/5
Easy book
- 5/5
I am sad the restaurant and bar was closed because of lack of staff
- 3/5
Staff was friendly, but the room was dirty and smelled horrible. Immediately there was a STRONG body odor smell. There soap drops and mud on the floor. Hair in the bathroom sink, the wall in the bathroom had scuff marks and dirt on it and was bubbled from water damage they painted over and There was mold around the shower drain. They are likely short staffed and rushing as they were still cleaning rooms when we arrived at 530pm
- 1/5
Read my message that was sent…. Disgusting moldy hotel
- 4/5
It was cool that they had a bar area and said there was a restaurant in there but none was opened or they were closed down and the pool water was very cold. If they had all of what use to be there that place would have been really nice
- 1/5
It was truly disappointing to only learn at the last minute that there would be no restaurant or bar open and only one elevator working during Dad's weekend (one of the busiest days of the year). I'm really surprised by the poor scheduling and lack of backup plans. Employees were nice, but it really should not have been handled this way :-(
- 1/5
Must be in renovation. One elevator didn't work. lobby area looked desolate. Rooms were pretty beat up.
- 2/5
Old
- 1/5
Bathrooms terrible. Some tried to remodel it but has zero clue and experience in remodeling field. Stairs are dirty and sticky. Outside of the hotel in bad condition. It really needs work and probably better management
- 2/5
Building is not marked with any name or signage and just seems very rundown overall. There was no functioning bar/lounge, and it’s misleading that they advertise one. Room and bathroom appeared to be still under renovation and unfinished. Bed was comfortable though! For the money we spent, we are disappointed and would not stay again.
- 4/5
Good stay. The room was hot all night, and the elevator was dreadfully slow. Other than that, very pleasant.
- 5/5
One elevator is broke and the other broke down at times. A little scary.
- 2/5
The hotel is going through renovation which we found out 2 days before we arrived. There was holes in our walls, exposed pipes, water was Luke warm, fitness center was lacking and no towels. For the amount we paid was shocking. I have stayed at dumps and this was right up there!
- 1/5
Bar and restaurant closed. Dirty gross room.
- 4/5
Sleeping/living area of the room was in good condition and beds were very comfortable but the bathroom is not completely renovated, and it would be nice if the 2nd elevator could someday work. It's been out of order for at least 3 years
- 3/5
Staff unhelpful
- 2/5
The property is different from what I remember when it first opened. Dated.
- 2/5
Way overpriced due to college football game. Bar & restaurant closed.
- 1/5
Worst stay ever
- 5/5
Stay was excellent
- 2/5
It was not a pleasant experience, housekeeping is done alternate day, though not written any where, neither during booking or at the time of checkin. when asked for housekeeping, i was told that it is done every other day. And AC was constantly making noise, breakfast was very ordinary not very healthy. Milk is container without any label, if expired or not , not known or is it 1% or 2% or whole milk. Wil not stay again
- 2/5
Front desk staff & Rebeka were excellent & very attentive. They acknowledged our concerns & did their best to correct our complaints. Thank you for that.
- 1/5
The hotel stunk. My room was dirty and had no toilet paper. Only one elevator worked and the restaurant and bar were closed. I left and did not stay even one night.
- 1/5
Pictures are very deceiving this place is under renovation they gave us a room that is not complete. Bathroom has mold in the shower. Door lock does not even work is falling out of the door. Floors are not clean. Dirt and oldness everywhere. Wyndham needs to update their pictures or not give rooms that are not ready for stay
- 2/5
No air in room.
- 4/5
It was a safe area
- 1/5
Only one elevator works. After the football there was a line where we waited for 20 minutes to use. The lobby is very nice, past that it is awful. I talked to many of the quests who will not stay there again. Room was hot and old. It’s too bad because we come every weekend, I’ll also never stay there again. I waste of money.
- 5/5
We had the BEST service from the staff there. Hailey and Rebecca were so easy and kind to work with and made our stay that much better! We will be back again soon!

They have done a really nice job upgrading the property. Staff was friendly and reasonable price especially for Illini football game night.

The property atmosphere was Excellent! (Waterfountain, bar, breakfast setting) sadly to bar wasn't available. Bar will work great with the sport tv concept.

The elevator was not working properly. The bathroom paint was chipped. The room had peculiar smell when you entered. Overall experience staying there was not that great.

Had a comfortable stay. While the building is a bit old, it is kept very clean, especially the bathrooms. Staff and standard full breakfast options and seating were very good.

Room had fries on floor when I checked in, shower was out of soap, room service never showed up, their reason was I had do not disturb on, which is not true, that tag wasn’t even available in my room … overall below average experience.

Check in was quick and easy but beds sheets had stains on them. I had to take them to the front desk and get a new set. Overall, this is an old hotel with poor craftmanship, terrible shower setup, exposed bathroom pipes, crumbling drywall patches, and stinky rooms (presumably from the chemical they used to clean the floors). For the cost, there are better choices across the street.

We arrived 2 rooms to a guy at desk that didnt even say hello, I had to say we has 2 reservations. I asked if bar was open & he snapped back. Never a thank you. We arrive to our rooms to have NO cups, hair dryer, coffee maker. He acted like we were putting him out when we asked, we said we'll just share items. I get to room to realize no internet. I ask to use a conf room, he says there is a fee. I asked to be moved to another room, the AC was broke. He rrudely said I could sit in the lobby. It was a call for addicts, I could not betray their trust in public. He told me I couldnt have both, AC & wireless. I said "this is a wyndham". I told him, you could at least say "im sorry", he laughed and said "im sorry". Two guys checking in said this guy is crazy. My traveling partner didnt even feel safe, but we stayed. I had no choice, had to join call. I ended up sitting in restroom on floor.

When we got to our room there was a strong smell that almost made my wife sick. We asked for another room and this one had the wall paper stapled to the wall in spots and spots with mold in the entry way. The bathroom was very old with mold along walls. They updated the furniture but didn't do anything else.

This property.. is tired.. and needs to be closed until renovations are xompleted

Zero signage on the building to imply I was at a hotel, outdoor area completely run down, bathroom ceiling had holes, shower screeched every time I put the hot water on, chose hotel because it contained a bar/restaurant - did not find out till check in that it was not available.

Quiet and easy access from the express way

Property was poorly maintained. Unfinished bathroom. Marks and makeup on the walls. Drop ceiling was open. Only one elevator working in whole place. Smelled terrible everywhere. Air conditioning was off when I got in room. Tools hours and hours to cool off. Staff was nice. But I almost asked for a refund and left.

The carpet outside our door was filthy! Our toilet seat was missing a bolt to attach it to the toilet. The toilet paper holder was missing, so the toilet paper was just on the counter. There was long hairs on the pillows of one of the beds.

the place is very clean

This hotel is terrible. There were so many things wrong with it. First I booked it for the pool, breakfast and pictures. None of these were accurate. The pool was cloudy the whole time we were there. The elevator was dangerous and one was broken. The whole place smelled musty and smoky. The bathroom in the lobby was disgusting with feces in almost every stall. The bed squeaked every time we moved. The stairs were inaccessible besides going down. The fitness center was small and one of the treadmills was broken.

the staff as fine and courteous. there was a business station, but it did not work, so I was unable to print some sheets I wanted.
