Ketut's Place Bed & Breakfast Ubud

There was building noise but they did give us a new bungalow a bit further away from the building site

Very peaceful place calm and relax Lack of towels in the rooms and not much lighting but overall very comfortable

I’ve stayed in this property 3 times now and I will always continue to stay here on my visits to Ubud. The staff are amazing and have been very welcoming on each stay. The location is just a short stroll into the centre. The rooms are very comfortable, the pool is great and I love the breakfast. It’s so relaxing to be surrounded my the trees and the river that flows below. N/A I can’t fault it at all

Staff was very kind and helpful but their management team did not want to offer a refund for even the additional charge that I made to upgrade to a deluxe room since the pictures online were misleading. I was booked for 6 nights but only stayed for 1 night. Rooms and sheets were moldy smelling, AC did not work well, rooms did not feel secure (only locked with a padlock or wooden beam), and there were bug egg sags in my mosquito net. The bathrooms had a strong smell after you took a shower.

Good location,able to walk everywhere. Felt like an oasis once inside property despite noisy busy street outside

Gorgeous views and architecture. Well functioning air conditioner. Very accommodating staff for room switches based on guest preferences. Cleanliness of fabrics (bedding, towels, curtains). Mildew scent on towels with dampness. Bedsheets had some stains from previous use.

The location was pretty great, 10 minutes walk from the Ubud palace. When we arrived, the room had a stuffy odor, and the sink wasn’t functioning properly. I reported the issue to a staff member, but no one ever came to check, so we had to fix it ourselves as the water wouldn’t drain. The overall stay was quite unpleasant. There was visible mold on the bed and mosquito net, which was very concerning from a health perspective. The bed was extremely old, and I strongly advise against looking underneath—it was full of dust and hair. The bathroom was in terrible condition and had a strong, nauseating sewage smell. The pool area also needs attention; the chair cushions were torn and worn out. For the price we paid, the experience was far from worth it. I would not return and do not recommend staying here.

Staff were amazing. Super helpful and attentive. The garden was lovely. Our room was very unique. Private view of the forest behind was a good touch. Breakfast was really good The bedding wasn't very clean. Sheets were washed but it seemed like some dirt remained? Bathroom was a bit dirty and the shower was awkward.

The hotel is close to everything and the pool was nice The AC didnt work in our room, the in climate was awful and had a weird smell

The lovely patio area by each room was so nice for sitting and looking out at the gardens. And having the morning coffee delivered there was such a treat. The food was soooo good. Best pancakes ever! So many beautiful little touches and the staff was so accommodating, warm, and caring. Thank you for everything!

So beautiful Nothing

What was good - The location is pleasant. The masseuse Rai is good. Staff attitude is not good. I felt humiliated and harassed during checkout. The check out time is 12, I was in the room till 12 14, all packed and ready to leave for Canggu, just waiting for my phone to charge, atleast upto 60% as i had to travel (i had put it on charge earlier as i showered, but their extention plugs are so loose, it didn't charge). There she comes, the staff with another staff, like loan sharks and goondas, demanding that I leave the room There was no 'what time are you expected to leave' 'may we help you with luggage' None. 'Leave. Others are waiting downstairs'. Lies, my room was just above the reception - you don't have sound proof rooms,no body was waiting downstairs. I got doublt proof when i went downstairs. Second, most of your villa is empty. So is that really what you should be saying. Thirdly and most seriously, why were two ppl required to come, knock on my door behave like loan sharks at 14 minutes past check out town. Do you realise how humiliating this is to a solo female traveler ? Especially when ive already told you guys the previous night that I'll be checking out the next day and also where I am headed. Now let me tell you something else. I understand your language. When you four were sitting in the reception talking and laughing and bitching about me, I understood it. Anyway i left with 24% battery on my phone at 12 22 as soon as my cab showed up. Was it necessary for you to behave this way? You ruined my memory of the two wonderdul days i spent in ubud. I even booked extra services with you guys, directly through you guys. Do you really think at 12 14 it was necessary to be burly with me that way ? Plus - bathroom was smelly all the time even on day 0, two lights and the fan was not working, wifi sucks.

Ketut's place is a beautiful traditional Balinese home full of character, only a few minutes' walk from the centre of town. The staff are lovely and kind. Breakfast was great, with a selection of fresh juices and a choice of Asian and Western, and the pool very inviting at the end of a hot day. The WiFi on the third floor was sometimes a little patchy and the AC in the room not the strongest.

Staff is friendly but the internet connection and switch boards are not good in the room. Food is okay

I loved staying at Ketuts place! The hotel is hidden from busy streets, so all you can hear are birds and nature. The pool is next to a river valley full of lush trees and plants, which you can admire while having breakfast in the hotels little restaurant. We also really liked the dance show in the nearby temple and our own balcony terrace. I would definitely stay there again! our twin room's interior design wasn't my favourite (the bathroom is a bit outdated), but I loved the door and other Balinese elements.

An excellent out of the way stay with 10 minute walk into Ubud. Quiet, beautiful bungalows, exceptional property, very helpful and friendly staff, terrific breakfast. Ketut will arrange tours and rides for you. He has spent 35 years developing this beautiful property, you will not be disappointed! Nothing

Nothing We arrived, the room smelled like must damp mould, we then noticed the floors were covered of ants, we asked to move room and the reception staff said they would wash the ants away, not good enough? It was infested, after 2 hours we left in the night time to stay at another place

Exceptional

Perfect locations. Walkable to city centre. The most amazing and friendly staff. Rooms are beautifully set in a lush garden with a meandering path towards the pool and relax area. Set against a beautiful back drop of the green canopy from the next hill side. Family owned and run with beautiful tempels and authentic family houses near where you will be staying.
