The room was spotless as usual, the staff is always so sweet! Breakfast is microwaveable foods but its good and the beach is very close, just over the little walk way.

Close to the beach and decent rooms.

Everything was great. Staff very friendly and gave great restaurant recommendations. Mattress was squishy with low spot in the middle.

I had a really good experience. Ocean is just a 1 minute walk. I extended my stay with no issues. I highly recommend this hotel

Overall my stay was great! I would have given 5 stars but they didn’t offer beach chairs or towels as advertised. I think I was there too early in the season. I’ll visit again.

Close to the beach

Wanted to have an oceanview room with a balcony and easy access to an exit for a handicapped spouse. Breakfast was very good with selections. Got to see Dolphins from our balcony. Better than taking a boat ride. Pool was great and easy parking. nothing.

So let me say i love staying here ..Room 112 i got the second time .i love the room but second time and the shower stall is still stopping up the drain is messed up and was messed up when i stayed there 8 months ago please fix thos issue it was annoying the ac was ok could be a little cooler bit seemed ok

Continental breakfast was more than expected. They had yougurt, pastries, oatmeal, cereal and milk, but also packaged sausage biscuits and waffles that could be warmed up along with coffee and juice. The room was a good size for a double room. We appreciated the microwave and mini fridge/freezer combo. The walk to the beach is just seconds and you don’t have to find parking which is the cherry on top! The shower had low pressure and the head could use replacing but that did not hinder our experience. We had a great time and I would absolutely stay here again!

Definitely an older hotel. The coffee bags had dust on them. The sinks in both rooms purchased clogged and we had to wait for them to drain. The shower never got hot.

Very clean and comfortable room. Staff was extremely friendly, kind and helpful. We were greeted happily by the employees and given suggestions on things to do and places to eat in the area. Not much of a breakfast selection, but I was ok with it. Coffee was Great! Enjoyed our time there a lot and will definitely stay with them again on future visits.

Nice and clean, house cleaning will get more towels and bath clothes. The people are really nice even the ones that maintain the property. Has a walk way to the beach, and easy to find.

Hotel was dated but clean. Mattress was extremely too soft. Staff did everything they could to improve the mattress situation. They were very helpful, however we wound up having to leave a day early

We would not stay here at half the price. Rooms are old and dated. Hotel charges a fee to use a credit card. And the kicker is a beach hotel does not provide towels for the pool or the beach. You have to buy them at 20.00 a pop. Do your self a favor and avoid the place.

The staff was on top of it, from check in to check out. I didn't need new towels or anything during our stay, but the kids left a mess on the floor from changing out of bathing suits. Housekeeping was more than happy to assist in vacuuming up our room while we were there.

Check in was good. After checking in and as we were preparing to put our stuff in the cabinets I noticed that drawer under the phone has juice box that was opened and juice all over the drawer. I took the picture of it and went to front desk to show the mess it created and was told it would be taken care of..... As the day we left the mess was never touched!!. On our second day, the cleaning crew totally skipped our room so I had to chase them down and asked why our room was not being cleaned? She said she didn't know that we wanted cleaned and I said well, I didn't know I needed to ask to have our room cleaned and have clean towels put in. She asked what do you need done? I asked just to replaced our towels and quick clean. After several minutes she came back with handful of towels and left them by the sink and left. Nothing more was done... I will never return to this hotel, NEVER!!

The pictures of this motel are very misleading. The building is older, and the renovations done did not include carpeting or bathroom updates. The moldy smell in the room triggered my allergies, making sleep nearly impossible. The room was full of dust, and it was clear that the cleaning had been done to a minimum. I was very disappointed in the room, but because it was spring break, finding another place to stay was hard.

Worst breakfast ever!

The kitchen area was nice, microwave and refrig/freezer worked well. The tub had rust, due to age, but shower worked fine. The bed was super comfortable. However, when we opened the room door on Tuesday evening, there was a roach on one of the beds. It was not a good way to start the stay.

Breakfast was repeated no great. Room was small and dated with poor water pressure. View was great. People were ok.

The continental breakfast was nothing but cereal and sad looking pastries. We stayed long enough to have cleaning service which amounted to the maid coming in throwing the comforters over the unmade beds and leaving two new towels without taking the dirty ones. They dumped one trash can. The hotel is very convenient to the beach which was the main reason we stayed there. I’m not sure if I would stay again. It was a lot of money for so few amenities.

The rooms are clean and spacious. One building is newer than the other so some rooms are a bit dated. There’s a pool and a sunroom to enjoy the beach view while sheltering from the wind. There are beachside cafe tables if you’d care to picnic. Rooms are equipped with fridge/freezer and microwave. Rooms in the newer building have balconies. Clean and comfortable, will definitely return!

Disappointing stay. The room was very loud, from people in the next room. The parking situation was very tight. We were in a room in the main building, I guess, that is set back from the beach. So we had a very small view of the beach. Breakfast was not good. Overall I expected better, for the price.

The staff was very helpful finding things to do around Tybee. They provided places and numbers.

My other complaints are that the pool is VERY SMALL and I don't believe there is any chlorine in the pool. I'm also not sure that it was a heated pool, although they would put a cover over it that heats the water. We stayed in the hotel rooms and the bathroom is soooo small. There was hardly any water pressure from the shower and there wasn't much variation in water temperature. We were supposed to get clean sheets after 3 days but I don't think that happened. The property is just old and outdated. The beach is amazing and close! So if that's all you care about, maybe it's perfect! There are some restaurants close but you mostly have to drive to them. The staff person that I talked to was very nice.

We stayed in the family suite. It was clean and very spacious. The beds were amazing 👏. The pool was warm. The property was clean and safe. Parking is very limited but convenient. The Breakfast is actually decent with some healthy options. Staff is always amazing too! We've been staying here for years !! Beach access super easy to get to.

The location is great, but I paid all this money to not be able to relax in between time because the cable was off the 1st 2 days, maybe all 4 days,I didn't stick around to find out, I loss money on the last 2 days, because my wife can't stay out all day because she has MS so television would've been a plus, or at least a heads up before checking in. I found out later that it was off before we were scheduled I know the staff couldn't do anything that's probably a corporate issue. Staff is friendly but unfortunately there were some leftover hair on toilet, dirty clothes on very top shelf, the drawers had old stuff in it that just wasn't wiped out. The fridge was filthy I'm sorry for the review but all these things were true. But like I said the staff is awesome, but for housekeeping job sake I would definitely tighten up a wholeeee lot with cleaniess may want to keep a more prestine eye.

The beach was great & staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was older & run down. I had the drain in the tub snaked but it still backed up easily. The air conditioner would not go below 74 degrees. The tv system was down the whole time we were there. Not that we are on vacation to watch tv but we like to watch tv prior to going to bed. Property in general was clean.

BEACH VIEW WAS AMAZING! Only problem we had was that the ice bucket needed to be trashed and coffee pot looked like it needed to be cleaned. Rooms are a little dated but overall was a great place to sleep.

Partial beach view was just that if you smashed your head against the window you could see the beach off to the side. Rooms are far from sound proof. Room was clean and it is right next to the beach.

The staff was great! We were only there one night, so no opportunity to experience more that you offered. Location was great too. Wish the temps were better, but you can't control nature.

Was hospitalized because of mold exposure that was in the room there was mold all over the room and the coffee maker was nasty and the ice machine had black mold as well I do not recommend anyone to say stay here I didn't even check in for a whole day and had to go to the emergency room due to dizziness and heaviness in my chest and coughing up blood I was unable to sleep in this room at all

The carpet was wet and the room smelled of mildew. The drain in the shower was very slow to drain so you stood in water as you showered.the front office was very friendly and the location to the beach was fantastic.

Fantastic locations, amazing Beach and sunsets. Rooms spacious, clean with waterfront views. Make sure you check out the crab shack, Frannies and the Deck restaurant.

Closeness to beach was the best.

We stayed two nights. The first room they gave us was musty and the vent didn’t work in the bathroom. We couldn’t stay in that room due to allergies and were happy when the front desk staff helped us out. They moved us to a much better room in their Bed And Breakfast next door and we had a restful night. Would recommend staying in the B&B if you have an option! Great beach access too.

The overnight desk clerk was so helpful and they were very knowledgeable about the area and suggested several eateries that were quite enjoyable. The same could not be said for the morning staff or for the meager “continental” breakfast that was offered.

By the pictures that are currently posted on your website the room looks very clean and very nice. However upon arriving, the room was filthy. The countertops had something sticky all over them with a coating of sand. The comforter that was on the bed had something stained all over the corner of it. The bathroom was filthy. I went to the office and spoke with a young girl that said she would send someone to clean it. I asked if there was another room we could go to, she stated that there wasn’t any available. Yet I could reserve one on Expedia itself. The young lady sent the maintenance man with a spray bottle of cleaner and a 1 towel to clean this entire room.. Needless to say, it was still unsanitary. I do have pictures that I will be attaching to this review if there is a place to put them. As far as a return trip to this hotel, that won’t ever happen again. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were only there for 1 night for a comedy performance. The hotel was convenient and very clean. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. The room arrangement gave plenty of room with a large bathroom counter and a nice-sized fridge with freezer. Staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating.

The room was a little cold this time of year we put the heat on for a little bit in the day we could see the ocean from our balcony. My room was out of a box of Kleenex so it needed more Kleenex but I didn’t say anything the room was fine and it was clean and we only stayed one night to go to a memorial for my dear friend. I miss the restaurants in the bar and the nightclub that used to be there when I was younger and before it was remodeled I liked it better then

The beach view and access were perfect!

We loved this property clean, on beach, watched sun rise. Staff was great! Heated pool and cute sitting areas. It was just lacking a good breakfast. It was a continental one. BUT within walking distance awesome breakfast spots.

We did have a good time in Tybee and loved the idea that there was no commercialism. Everything privately owned has a nice quaint feel to it.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The building and decor is a little tired and could use some updating. The view from our room 202 was excellent. But you and easily HEAR everyone and thing. The door to #202 must be fixed. It sticks so it makes a lot of noise opening and closing. The room was clean, shower very large and nice. Adequate experience in facility. Beach access was wonderful!!!

Our room had an oceanview like advertised. Excellent room, Excellent location and fantastic price. Stayed here for the 10th Annual Tybee Island Redfish Tournament. Excellent location and will stay here again next year. Bonus it was the same weekend as the Tybee Island Pirate Festival which was amazing.

We booked a room here last minute. They were very accomodating of our late arrival. The room was excellent and exactly what we were looking for. I was surprised how easy it was to access the beach. I would absolutely stay here again!

This Hotel is very old and it shows. Upkeep of the property is minimal at best in order to keep it open. Not a huge deal breaker and probably worth the low prices charged which reflect the conditions of this facility as a whole. The close beach access was a nice perk. There was plenty to do or not do on the Island and we had two wonderful and entertaining dinner meals while there.

I didnt have a beach view the shower kept stopping up the knob was broken and i left out with a scratch on my vehicle

On Friday, I left the premises for a few hours, leaving my girlfriend to nap in the room. I placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. While I was gone, someone (a black male) banged on the door very loudly, waking up my girlfriend who was very frightened. She asked the man what he wanted and he said he was from house cleaning, and wanted to know if the room needed cleaning. She had to initial his check-list. The next day (Saturday), we both were gone and noticed upon our return that the trash cans were empty, even though the "Do Not Disturb" sign had remained on the door. Either "house cleaning" is reading -challenged, or your policy stinks ! I reported all the above to the hotel desk when I checked out Sunday @ 11am.

Loved the accessibility to beach.

The desk staff is slow. The place hasn’t been updated in forever. The door to the bathroom just clears the toilet by a smidge. The tv sound was going in & out and was in Spanish. Didn’t even try to get someone to fix it st 8 pm if my techno hubbie couldn’t. Free breakfast was nothing fresh. Kid boxes of cereal and small Entemann like pastries.Definitely way too expensive for what you get.

The staff was very nice & accommodating. Nice access to the beach & chairs/unbrellas available for use. The hotel was dated and could use a good cleaning but the beds were comfy & sheets & towels were clean. We didnt eat breakfast so cant comment on that.

Overpriced considering there are very few continental "breakfast" items, dirty sink, sand on the windowsill & counters, and old coffee maker with horrible coffee. If it wasn't within walking distance from the beach, it would be a 2-star hotel. I did appreciate the parking.

Where to start? Unfriendly staff during check in. No smiles, no welcome, just "ID and credit card". Our unit had a Broken door knob which was was barely functional. We felt unsafe. We let the front desk person know at check out. No apology. Just, well we didn't know. Shower terrible. If this is the "best" that Tybee Island has to offer, I would hate to see the worst.

Likes the access to the beach

Every time I went on the balcony, I smelled cigarette smoke and I have COPD, so I had to go back inside to not breathe the cigarette smoke. People with no handicap parking permits were parked in the handicap spaces. It would have been nice to have some sort of eggs on the breakfast bar. The beach was almost completely gone from erosion. No stairs to go from the boardwalk to the ocean. Just steep soft sand pathways. I fell going down the steep pathway. On checkout, I asked if they could make sure that my discount was applied, they told me that they could not verify that, that I would have to contact Expedia. I rented beach chairs and umbrella almost every day and every time I went to the beach to use them, they were occupied by people who did not rent them. Lotta room for improvement.

Housekeeping did not clean up or make the bed until the last night.The shower leaked and made a loud noise when going down the drain which kept us awake. The shower has mold inside the caulk. The shower was a very cheap structure. Had management upgraded the bathroom, it probably would've been better but the lack of housekeeping would've still been an issue. I wouldn't return.

Our stay was wonderful! It was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast wasn’t for me but that was no big deal, others seemed to enjoy it.

The breakfast option is extremely basic; bagels, mini sausage packs and breakfast juices. The front desk attendant was nice and the property team; maintenance and housekeeping were also great. I appreciated the on-sight parking and the beach access. The pool was small but manageable. We came for the beach and certainly enjoyed that aspect of our trip.

This property definitely didn’t match up to its photos. We actually can’t attest to the staffing because I didn’t stay there. I pulled up, drove around and decided to just “lose what we paid for the room” since it was too late to cancel. Just didn’t feel safe staying there.

Much better places to stay in the area for the price

Our room had a roach in the bathroom. Cable went out for about 5 hours. The parking lot is small makes it tight for big trucks and suvs .

The property was small but very well kept , the beach area was great, do beautiful , clean and just a walk around the nice pool area and you were there. It was also walking distance to most of the areas of interest. The staff however was amazing!! They went above and beyond to make aure we had what we needed. The desk clerk that worked July 24 th and 25 th was the nicest person I have ever met!

I have stayed at Desoto Beach hotel several times & each time they have had plumbing/ drainage issues. This time I notice a sewer smell in the room & there was sewer waste ( what appeared to be Feces) bubbling up in the sink. Room service only came 1 time during our 4 day stay. Parking is very limited & the hotel desperately needs an update.

There is not of extras that you see at most hotels (Free breakfast, restaurant, no elevators, did not see any vendor machine). The best part of the stay is the location. You are across from the beach. Good restaurants and stores in walking distance of the hotel. The people was nice, you have to request cleaning service or they will not clean your room. Overall it was a good stay. The hotel was very clean.

The nicest room I've stayed in on Tybee Island

Our very first day of our vacation we checked in and as soon as I walked into the bathroom I noticed it had not been properly cleaned. There was hair and sand still at the bottom of the tub and on the shower wall it self, I put in a request for cleaning and was told that no one would be in to clean until the morning. The service guy was nice on the phone, said he tried to find another room to move us to but the hotel was “too full”. I ended up cleaning the bathroom myself. The next morning they didn't make up our room until 12pm. At that point I just gave up and decided to clean my own room which I shouldn't have but I rather have a clean room than not at all. I want and purchased some items to do so. I will not be staying here again because I just feel like everything there was so outdated and if you didn't stay in the balcony suites you don't get the same amount of cleanliness and service. I stayed for 3days - 4 nights. Room was only “made up” once my whole stay. Little to no amenities. Room was ok nothing special. Carpeted floors which made everything feel less clean. But other than that beach was only a few steps away, staff was friendly.

Overall the hotel was ok since it was in the beach and have a direct access to the beach. The room was not quiet comforting so does the bathroom. The beakfast was not upto the standard. The staffs were friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay. We loved the fact it had its own entrance to the beach and the area was not so crowded. There’s a gift shop across the street was very helpful to buy bathing suits. There is a bar/restaurant 500 feet away which was great to grab drinks when on the beach. Will definitely stay here again when we go back.

False advertising. They and every other place is NOT on the beach. There are walkways to the beach from the hotel. Pool is small so seems crowded, breakfast is gas station style (plastic wrapped sausage biscuits). The rented chairs and umbrella are old and like a lounge chair that doesn’t flatten. The rooms are old and NO cable tv or streaming. I would not stay here again. Way too pricey for what it is. Only a couple rooms have a view

We had a nice stay. We were able to check in early and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast that was included had a number of choices. It would only be better with access to beach towels instead of having to purchase them.

Very old property with few amenities

The property did allow us to check in a few minutes early, the rooms are clean, the beach is so conveniently located just across the parking lot. Ability to walk to different restaurants is Handy as well.

Our room was clean. I appreciate that. The staff was nice. We did not eat the breakfast, maybe next trip. Beds comfortable and the AC was great.

We had booked one night and come time to leave…. We booked two more nights. Just couldn’t leave. Staff was so helpful and kind. Mike and Valerie I am talking about you two! The beach chairs and umbrellas were lovely! Breakfast was decent 8 outta 10!! Comfortable beds clean. The ice machine location was iffy but it worked. Can hardly wait to come back. Thank you for making my first visit to Tybee Island so memorable

The property was clean, but outdated, the breakfast was mediocre at best, I felt like I was staying in an overpriced MOTEL not a hotel.

the toilet was not running right and took them a while to get it fixed.

It was worth getting the corner room with the balcony and the ocean view. Waking up to the ocean every morning was so refreshing for my birthday week. Room was clean, no bugs, clean sheets, plenty of towels. For an older hotel, they take very good care of everything. I also really liked the private beach access, very convenient.

Not exactly on the beach and limited views. Place was fine but little disappointed in location and views. Staff recommended great restaurant. Would stay there again but call and get description of view from room. Some are better than others.

The property is older but it’s really quiet and not a party crowd. The breakfast would have been nice if there was freshly cooked food.

It was great I was expecting an oceanfront or a little better view outside of that I would stay again it was pleasant. Very convenient to all the places we went to.

It was walking distance to the beach. I didn’t like how small the room was and it wasn’t completely clean. Also the breakfast options were not a wide variety

This is the only beach hotel on the island and it is clean and close dining and next to a beach bar/restaurant. There is a pool but unfortunately it wasn’t open because of some maintenance issue.

The hotel was clean and well stocked. While the free breakfast was minimal, the coffee was excellent and so were the facilities. We could walk to restaurants and shopping and the pier, and the beach was steps away (and the chairs and umbrellas provided were wonderfully convenient). I would definitely stay there again.

Extremely clean, nice and check in was a breeze. Pool was clean as well. We will definitely be back again!

Budget friendly place to stay that was very convenient

Great beach access , very nice staff. The main room was lovely with a balcony but some other guests smoked on balcony ruining the experience bathrooms had big shower. Could be a bit cleaner and updated. Overall a good stay with great beach access.

The hotel was nice and the location was nice as well….. the kids loved the heated pool and the short walk up to the beach
