My room was super clean and comfortable. The beds were a little firm. I did have the top floor balcony overlooking the lazy river and golf course. It was super comfortable and the staff for the most part was super helpful. The bar down stairs has a relaxed vibe and you can't miss the free tequilla shots at 5:30! Overall, amazing place to stay and recommend it!
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful and clean. The hotel didn't have a good variety of food choices but the buffet breakfast was the best.

The location was fantastic, peaceful and relaxing. Had a view of Tucson with amazing sunrises each morning. Nighttime in the Lazy River looking up at all the stars. Just what was needed.

We loved our stay at Starr Pass! The staff are incredible, really a level of service that was so respectful and giving and so so friendly! Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping to every server in every restaurant were so welcoming. And the property is absolutely gorgeous, amazing views of Tucson, and so clean. Spotless, actually. Would highly recommend and absolutely return to on another occasion!
- 5/5
The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the impeccable customer service - we loved our time here - lots to do in the area - hikes , biking and restaurants- we would definitely stay here again - every employee we came into contact with was exceptional

The pool and lazy river were terrific, although lots of dead bugs in the pool at times. Drink prices are grossly inflated, similar to Las Vegas.

The hotel was beautiful, very well kept. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Willow at the front desk was wonderful and accommodating. The individuals at the valet and front door were always offering suggesting's on places to go, eat, offering water, and asking how we were doing. Shelby in the restaurant and pool bar was sweet, remembered everyone's names likes and dislikes, she was very accommodating and kind. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in.

StarPass is amazing! Went for a quick weekend getaway from Phoenix - the property is beautiful, our room was immaculate (newly renovated!), and the employees were so helpful! Great dining options and we loved the live music at Salud. Thanks again for a wonderful stay, we’ll definitely be back :)

Location, room, lobby, terrace restaurant and music. The breakfast is very bad. There is no mesh on the balcony door because of mosquitoes.

I love everything about this place. The staff makes you feel welcome. Food is great. Pool and lazy river, awesome, and the food only delicious! Stayed one night and loved every minute of it! Too hot when using valet. Maybe get some fans. The staff can use the small gesture I'm sure!

All of it!! What a great stay can’t wait to go back!!!
- 3/5
We booked it for the restaurants and lazy river. We did not receive any notice that the lazy river would be closed for repairs during our stay and that all but one restaurant would be open while we were there. We had a nice stay but it was not at all what we hoped would be available to us. Notice of closures and repairs should be sent to guests when choosing this location over others.

Everything was perfect! But, do not like the resort fee charge. None of the amenities included in the charge were used.

The location of the hotel is beautiful, it has also very nice facilities, as well as a very good services.
- 5/5
It was a very nice relaxing stay. Glad to see the hotel is renovating to keep up!
- 5/5
Love the lazy river
- 4/5
It was a very pleasant stay all employees very nice. Only issue was key cards not working due to system up grades so it was frustrating to get to your room and your card would not work and have to go all the way back down to the desk several times the first few days
- 5/5
Pool was amazing
- 5/5
we stay here about once a year. Always a good time. It was great that the JW Market was actually open on a Sunday. It's so annoying when you come to the resort and things aren't open. The market is awesome just wish it stayed open later, through dinner or later because he pizza is awesome

- 5/5
Wonderful service
- 3/5
As well the biggest issue I really had was at breakfast, I wasn't given the comp card, so I had to wait about 15 -20 minutes witch made my second guest extremely late for work, I was told you just get my last name and room number, I was told after giving that information I wasn't on the list. my last issue was I upgraded very easily but the key wasn't made, so I had to take myselfplus all my belongings with my 2 kids all the way back from floor 8. Hated that. The room was beautiful, but the entertainment center did not work, it had all types of plug ins, but nothing was powering up. The resort is for for families, but no tv channels for children at ll, that was a let down for the children guest also left me as a guest with more than 2 kids in the room very furious, I understand getting out is key but when resting I at least wanted television for the children entertainment. The staff impacted how my second guest on my reservation.
- 5/5
The staff are friendly & attentive. The grounds & the area around the hotel is beautiful. I would highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
I will never use Expedia again
- 5/5
Star pass in a very nice area . No complaints

- 5/5
Beautiful place with fun activities like evening tequila toast. Close to hiking trails. Super friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint was that during our stay the hotel came into our room on more than 3 occasions to do maintenance. Happy they are doing maintenance but wish it could be done between bookings so they are not disturbing customers during naps etc. Overall thought it was a great hotel.

It was amazing! They went above and beyond for our wedding night!
- 5/5
The only bad thing was the parking. The self parking is not close to the lobby and valet is too expensive.

- 5/5
The service was exceptional. Staff was very patient. I got lost coming from the self parking garage and i spoke to the assistant signature manager, susan schireman. She personally escorted me to the proper elevator. When i got to my room later, she had left a gracious note and complimentary food to apologize for my trouble. I had never experienced such service. Not only from her, but from the outdoor pool restaurant, firepit service and indoor restaurant, it was clear that the staff was professional and provided incredible service. Been to numerous hotels and this was by far the best in service provided.
- 5/5
This is our go to spot when we stay in Tucson. We love the location, the restaurants and the variety of things to do for a family. Our kids love the pool and lazy river!!
- 5/5
We have stayed at Star Pass many times over the years. It is a very peaceful and relaxing environment! The staff is always helpful!
- 5/5
My favorite place to stay in Tucson.
- 5/5
An excellent experience.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. I especially enjoyed the morning hike.
- 5/5
The pool is amazing!
- 5/5
The staff were incredible and went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied with our dining experiences, pool side comfort, room, and our stay!
- 4/5
They have a caputured audience as there is nothing else around the property and the prices of the food and drink are ridiculous. It was a Friday and the place was deserted which was fine. Had the large pool all to myself. Paying for parking in such a remote place is yet another insult.
- 2/5
Pool chairs old and uncomfortable. Casual food options very limited.
- 5/5
Exquisite! Even in the summer.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, food was pricey when traveling with kids.
- 5/5
Lovely chatter and laughter all around. The lazy river provided a perfect setup to chat with my friends and soak into the water. The water slide was fantastic add for my son. A favorite getaway, we will be back again!
- 4/5
At Plunge, their poolside bar and grill, other people's bills were charged to my room and the service was awful. Our room was really nice and the fireworks were amazing.
- 5/5
Our stay was wonderful, enjoyed the pools. Staff was so friendly, helpful and always available.
- 5/5
Beautiful and relaxing. Highly recommend the 7 am morning Mitakuye Oyasin ceremony.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, a nice well kept resort, very well organized for it being a holiday weekend event. They had plenty of security which made it feel safe for the amount of people enjoying the festivities.
- 5/5
Beautiful facility and remarkable service!
- 2/5
First day we got there, the pool was filthy and cloudy. Our shower looked like it hadn’t been washed in a long time. There were bugs in the room and it smelled musty. I also had to make an issue about the breakfast buffet I pre paid for through Expedia’s booking. Poolside service was slow, by the time we got our drinks we had to head back to the room, the girl never came back with our check and we waited, my husband even stayed behind to wait longer. Super frustrating this time around and we visit every year.
- 5/5
Beautiful place! All the staff were so friendly and accommodating! Will definitely be coming back.
- 3/5
The property is huge. Room to pool was a very long walk. Pool was overcrowded on 4th of July. Overrated and overpriced.
- 2/5
Some staff was not friendly and there seemed to be no communication between the staff members
- 4/5
Excelent service
- 5/5
We did choose to stay on the 4th of July which probably was a bad idea, the pools were way over crowded and the cleanliness wasn’t the best, rules definitely weren’t being followed, people taking the lazy river rafts to their chairs so others couldn’t use and the trash being left as they were floating around the river, there also should’ve been someone regulating at the bottom of this slide clearing people out of the way so kids could come out safely, people were letting kids dive into that area and swim around which could’ve turned out badly
- 5/5
I just love the JW , especially the lazy river and slide ;))
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 5/5
The best in the desert
- 4/5
The room was very nice, clean and quiet. I was dissappointed in the parking cost and also that the staff did not tell us that three adults could access the pool area with one room. I bought two passes for over 200.00 when I did not need to.
- 2/5
The food options were not great and once you ordered room service, the food arrived cold
- 4/5
nice resort with everything that you need but in your room the sink clogged we told some one to removed clogged pipe and nobody do anything shower with cool water only you have all the comfort in the resort but you have discomfort in your room I hope can do some thing to improve all those issues.
- 5/5
Easy to access to the pools and restaurants
- 1/5
There was cockroaches in the room and was moved to a different room and same issue . Then key was not working for pool area had to wait to get door open . There was also to many bugs in pool and also snake
- 1/5
Went for a family night to celebrate my grandson’s birthday I had four rooms 4 people each room beds uncomfortable pillows hard AF woke up with a massive headache pool was closed due to possible thunderstorms which were not even within the vicinity so we couldn’t take the kids swimming and the alternative suggested by the hotel was the bar HOW are we going to take 6 kids to a bar?!?!???! Huge waste of money time and big disappointment and everything costs extra EVERYTHING
- 5/5
Highly recommend this resort and I would definitely stay here in the future. All the staff have been very friendly and helpful. I loved the lazy river!
- 5/5
Love the staff and the man w long hair at the pool bar is great
- 5/5
Fun place with lots of activities
- 5/5
Beautiful property, the desert views are amazing. Check in was fast and easy, staff is great. Had a great time staying here.
- 4/5
Lots to do Great location Phone in the room never worked. I will come back some day.
- 3/5
Bed was too hard. Pillows were not good at all. Seems that the resort charged for every little reason. Asked resort for breakdown of everything that I was charged for but was just given a receipt. Was supposed to get a call from the resort manager but never received a call. On the bright side, the resort is beautiful.
- 5/5
The self parking was very confusing.
- 5/5
This place never disappoints for last minute stay-cations! The ease of early check in process allowed us to get a room super early & being able to have access to the pool/ amenities even after check out time made our stay that much more enjoyable!!
- 5/5
I don’t often select the extra cost of a resort for a single night stay, but I’m so glad I did in Tucson. The location of the JW Marriott is perfect; surrounded by saguaro and accessible trails. The resort fee included e-bike rentals, a guided hike and more. The staff at the front desk & restaurant were very kind and helpful. I’ll be enjoying a late checkout with a little extra resort time.
- 5/5
Young ladies at front desk exhibited excellent customer service
- 5/5
Great pool(s) and staff. Family friendly oasis in the desert.
- 4/5
Family dinner at Signature grill with 12 people… food was good, the next morning no buffet available… The prices à la cart are actually expensive, But there is no other options at 8:30 in the morning. I was charged 49 dlls for the resort fee, plus 15 dlls for some cleaning stuff, plus 35 dlls overnight valet, plus my room.. honestly, it was too much this time for just 24 hrs!
- 5/5
All the staff was very helpful. We really enjoyed the cabana by the lazy river. The kids even got some ping pong time in down by the pool. The views are amazing.
- 5/5
Excellelente! We shall return.
- 5/5
This resort is beautiful and the staff is all super sweet. We were able to check in early at no extra cost and loved the lazy river.

- 5/5
This resort is absolutely beautiful and luxurious--I have stayed there twice and my favorite aspects of this resort are the serene desert views, gorgeous property/aesthetic, pool and poolside service, and restaurant options. All the food I have had here at the poolside restaurant and evening dining options is excellent, and I love that there is a Starbucks on site as well! The firepits with live music at night, and e-bikes (included in resort stay) were an added bonus! Will definitely be back!
- 5/5
This place was awesome. We hiked and golfed in the mornings, rented a poolside cabana in the afternoons, had a pre-dinner drink at their patio happy hour and then ate at their restaurants at night. It was all top notch. Passagio was our favorite restaurant. Two meals there were outstanding.
- 5/5
JW Marriott Starr Pass was the perfect choice to celebrate my son's 10th birthday! He had a blast all day going down the slide and floating around the lazy river and the cabana provided the perfect cozy place to rest and snack. The service was great and the staff did a wonderful job of making it a special and memorable stay for my son. They even delivered a special birthday treat to our room for him!! We can't wait to go back!!
- 5/5
This hotel was amazing. Yes, it's an older hotel, but it is kept up beautifully. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The views of the mountains were absolutely breathtaking. The pool was clean and the lazy river was so fun. We will definately be back.
- 2/5
We stayed here on spring break for the lazy river. It was under construction and no one told us. It works have been a deal breaker. Very disappointing.
- 5/5
We loved this resort! It was quiet and away from everything, but fun for our teen-20's as well. The service was fantastic. We really liked Arturo in the bar!
- 4/5
Great customer service! Room towels were rough and bathroom drywall damage was pretty noticeable. However, the customer service by the two young ladies at check in made up for it.
- 5/5
This was an amazing stay! Great pool and the spa was fantastic! At at all restaurants. One was not so good-but have eaten there before and was good so I will assume it was a “one off”. Italian restaurant was fabulous and fantastic service and food. All staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
The resort was nice. They just nickel and dime you for everything.
- 5/5
Loved the resort layout!! Pool restaurants everything is very easy accessible!! Highly recommend this place and definitely will be coming back with the family!
- 5/5
Also a great place for a conference!
- 5/5
Our suite was wonderful with a very nice balcony overlooking downtown Tucson!
- 5/5
The grounds were beautiful, the room was quiet, clean and comfy and the staff were friendly and helpful! We would highly recommend.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay alcohol prices were a bit excessive!!
- 4/5
Our 1st night was fantastic. Great live music and a beautiful dinner at the Signature Grill. The second night was New Years Eve and I felt the live entertainer was not great. He played non stop. Very loud and seemed not to know a lot of the music he played by request. Since he played so late into the night, we could still hear him from our room.
- 5/5
The food and service in the restaurants were wonderful and we enjoyed the Christmas decorations. We felt very well taken care of in all aspects!
- 4/5
Hot water took 20 mins or sometimes longer to heat up. Other than that everything was spot on great.
- 5/5
Nice room
- 5/5
This is a beautiful hotel, the staff are very professional, polite and friendly. There are so many places to wander on the property with the terrace area with the firepits being my favorite.
- 5/5
We were celebrating Thanksgiving and our family (10 people) decided to do it at Starr Pass. We had a great time visiting, hickin the trails, golfing, and having a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone loved it.
- 5/5
The valet staff was extreme helpful as was the registration desk. Every question and request for assistance was meet with pure professionalism and rapidly resolved
- 2/5
Only positive is the front desk hospitality. The gal that checked us in was friendly, efficient and helpful. Room is garbage for the price. Outdated, visible wear on the nightstands and TV armoire/dresser. Water never really gets hot, just lukewarm. They have gone bargain basement with shampoo and the like; no individual units and what they have in their refillable bottles is absolute trash. And what's the deal with no real door on bathrooms these days? Barn doors, especially poorly installed barn doors, are just plain stupid. Mattress is rock hard, too. Pool area is a joke. So bad we didn't even bother the next day. Dirty, dirty, dirty. We went late evening, and there were no clean towels that were easy to access (or folded), half empty cups, used towels and trash randomly strewn about, and it was ridiculously dark throughout the pool area. My girlfriend stubbed her toe on a concrete curb because of the lack of lighting. Pools are funky. Lots of paper and random crap in the lazy river, weird stuff touching my feet in the hot tub, and trash in the bottom of the pools. EVERY SINGLE TABLE in the courtyard area was dirty. Whether it be cup rings, spills, empty glasses or dishes, nothing was being maintained. 5 Star resort folks. And they charge for that "privilege" nightly. The long and short is you'd have a better experience at a well run Hampton Inn.
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 5/5
Wonderful property just outside Tucson. My son and I traveled for a soccer showcase and enjoyed relaxing after games in the lazy river and room service in bed. The staff was all friendly, the resort was spotless and the rooms are nice size.
- 5/5
The stay was great. Fun time and nice atmosphere. The bed was pretty hard and made my back hurt just after 1 night, but the room was clean and everything else was great.
