El Amador Inn Downtown Tucson

Its like having a small cottage village with a nice courtyard in the middle of the city. You're within walking distance of everything downtown, the rooms are cozy, good amenities and a peaceful place to relax. Check in and checkout was a breeze. Would highly recommend.

This is a nice little nook to visit. Shops and eating are just around the corner. The famous Rialto Theatre also! The suite was charming and themed the Persian room. Very cute and safe place to be with gated parking and court space.

Absolutely beautiful place! Not a soul in sight. Just a quiet, clean, gorgeous room and grounds.

The check-in was a little confusing with the digital locks, but the staff talked me through it easily. It was nice to be able to text an actual person. I will definitely be back there. It’s the perfect location and still very quiet.

There should be curtains on the door. The blinds let in too much light at night. Either that, or shut the lights off at 10:00 PM.

My husband and I stayed in the "Downtown House" suite in this very special boutique Inn. What a gem of an oasis in downtown Tucson! The House was huge, impeccably decorated, immaculate, and had every imaginable amenity, including a fully equipped kitchen, private secured parking, and beautiful grounds with lit landscaping and trees, multiple seating areas and firepits. And it was within easy walking distance to all of the downtown sites and great restaurants. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay. Special thanks to our wonderful host, Daniel, for accommodating our early check-in and your gracious hospitality throughout our stay. We would love to come back.

The grounds are so well taken care of that supports a beautiful romantic setting with plenty of options to relax in the courtyard. Every amenity in the room was thought of including a claw foot bathtub and 4 poster bed

We loved the privacy of this place. Parking code required, room excellent, no stall on sight, but available if needed. Private patio, left locked bike outside with no problems. Birds/fountains/flowers. Only issue was not enough food places within walking distance.

The place was cozy, clean and quiet. Checking in late night was not a problem, staff were all friendly.

A couple of things that I didn't like: I never received check-in instructions and had to call from the front of the inn to get a code. I also never received check-out instructions until 11 hours after check-out time! It said I would receive them the day before I checked out. The staff was friendly, but this seems like very simple customer service if you aren't going to have a check-in desk?

I stayed there for the big bike event that took place this past weekend in Tucson. The location was perfect to get to and from the convention center. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. Furthermore, the room far exceeded my expectations. They kept it very clean and I had plenty of space.

I am writing this review because guests considering this "hotel" should know that it isn't really a hotel. It's a room rental with a host who is offsite and who isn't responsive to text messages and does not respond to phone calls. Which would not be acceptable even for an Airbnb/Vrbo short term rental. Regarding the room, it is really fantastic for the price. Newly rennovated, great bed, strong wifi, beautiful bathroom, nice towels. The courtyard is nice enough with seating and cacti. Location is not in downtown but a short walk away.

This is a lovely property. Communication with the Inn is easy and efficient. The grounds are beautiful especially as lit at night. I had the Tucson Room which was comfortable and well decorated. Tasteful and fun!

I returned to the property about 8 p.m. The code machine for the front gate was not working. I called the designated hotel phone number a number of times and left a voicemail message. No response. It was dark outside and scary.

Stayed in Tucson Room it was clean & comfortable. Parking & check in was easy & convenient. Two suggestions-ceiling fan in room is very noisy needs to be balanced. Bistro lights in the courtyard need to be dimmed or turned off at night. Even with the blinds closed our room was super bright all night.

This was a pleasant surprise for the price. I stayed in the New Orleans room. It was a beautiful room, extremely clean, extremely comfortable, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Not what I am used to form Tucson room experiences. Thank You, and God Bless!

The buildings had nice stained glass and our room had antique furniture. The King bed was comfy. The staff was responsive to requests. The property does charge for room cleaning, which keeps the per night price low because I didn’t pay for a service I wouldn’t otherwise use. Yay! I would stay here again and recommend to others.

Tucked away in a residential neighborhood, the El Amador Inn is a hidden gem! Each room is truly unique with period decor, artwork, high ceilings and a gorgeous chandelier! I have stayed in all the downtown area and this little hole in the wall was my favorite! Its location is just close enough to have a night out and then feel like your at home when you decide to go to bed!

This little boy of paradise may be off-putting when you first arrive, but dinner let it fool you. The courtyard with the fountain is beautiful and soothing. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The surrounding area is full of eateries.

The property is well kept and nice. The room is beautiful and very clean. Our only issue is that we ended up parking across the street because the dedicated parking lot for this building was full with 6 cars in it and there was not room for us to safely park our car and still be able to get out of it.

Small gated parking lot. A block away from the trolley line. Easy flat walk. 2 blocks from historic district, breweries, coffee, restaurants. The Persian room at El Almador was perfect and romantic. Even had a chandelier in our bathroom. Everything looks well kept. If you want to go hiking, you will want a car.

Very nice place, very friendly owners, well placed good for business or family trip

The property is very pretty and was in a location that was very convenient for me. As a solo female traveler, I felt a little unsafe at the property because the courtyard entrance was not really secure. (There is a locked/coded gate entrance but the gate will open without a code if a person simply reaches over and opens it from the inside.) The room itself was very comfortable and clean (except for some dust bunnies). It would have been nice to have some bottled water in the room as there is no place close by to purchase basic supplies. Overall, it was a good experience and I would stay there again.

There was an issue with our room and the staff were attentive and had great communication around it. They upgraded us into the nicest room at the facility! The courtyard is beautiful and tue location is ideal. I’d stay here again!

This is a great property, secure, all rooms face into a really cute courtyard which is secure. The parking is also fenced in and secure. It’s a great mix of old and new. The rooms look brand new, great bathrooms and brand new flooring throughout. This is mixed with themed based furnishings to match the name of the room. The mattresses and pillows are wonderful. We have stayed there twice and we will return. It’s close walking distance to downtown and a great value.

Great experience! absolutely gorgeous. Made us feel fancy even with the low price! Very comfortable, beautiful, and nearby main attractions!

Except the hard bed and low shower pressure everything else was exceptionally perfect super cute and will definitely stay again!!!

It was close to the venue I was attending. The parking and gated situation was nice. The patio was nice. My only issue was that there was only streaming in the TV. Everything else was awesome.

Beautiful place to stay in downtown Tucson. Super comfortable bed & pillows. Easy, safe and free parking on site. Lots of restaurants and bars near hotel within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Tucson.

El Amador is a beautiful and quaint spot right near downtown. Parking only accommodates smaller vehicles. Plasma clinic on the corner brings in some interesting traffic. night racers and police helicopters made me feel right at home on LA. Bed was super comfu and bathroom was lovely.

Womderful room in a secluded courtyard in a central location, walkable to many things. I'd come and stay again next time I will be in Tucson

Rooms nicely decorated. Excellent communication with staff. Loved the patio. Easy walk downtown for many fine restaurants. So glad we stayed here.

Very comfortable and very clean

Although we had no issues, some guest would be concerned with the first block north on 4th street, housing the area plasma donation center and scattered homeless individuals. Our experience at the property was excellent and we were so pleased with the parking,and nicely decorated casita. the courtyard is a plus in cooler weather. we will stay again for sure and be alert that first block from the property.

What a stay! After a thorough text, and navigating a modest parking lot, we were prepped for our stay. The theme of both rooms I was able to see, the Persian and the Tucson, were creative, classy, showcased local art, and allowed personality to shine through. They also felt and looked clean, renovated, modern and comfortable. None of the standard hotel amenities were missing either, each of which were modern and thoughtful. We were so impressed, after our concert let out, we brought our local friends to the patio, and they remarked they would be recommending the El Amador to their family and friends passing through as well. Thank you for your hard work, we will be back, and hopefully, in a new room :)

El Amador is a lovely place to stay with a welcoming courtyard with games and a Victorian vibe in the spacious interior. Within walking distance of downtown food and activities. 100% would recommend.

The area isn’t great, but it’s very close to downtown Tucson, and the gated parking and entry gives a sense of security. I didn’t get the room I booked which was a little disappointing, and given I was late arriving and there is no reception, I couldn’t be bothered to go to the hassle of looking to change. However the room I had was nicely furnished and comfortable. Downtown Tucson feels very unsafe at night, so I won’t be going back. Which is a shame because the hotel is definitely worth a visit.

So fun, charming, and quirky. A great deal for what you get. We got the luxury/downtown house and that was amazing! I had coffee in the courtyard in the mornings and a nightcap in the courtyard before bed because I just loved hanging out there. Air conditioning did a great job keeping the place cool. Having gated parking was handy since it’s super hard to find parking at the restaurants and bars nearby. Will definitely come again.

The door to the room only had blinds on it. A lot of light comes through at night from the courtyard making it hard to sleep. Also you don't need the code for the front gate. You can just reach your hand through the gate and turn the knob. Not really highly secured?

This is the second time I've stayed at this property (different rooms) & have had a great experience each time. The accommodations are clean, spacious, and offer nice amenities (patio, outdoor entertainment area, extra storage, etc). I appreciate the secure, free parking, & its proximity to the University & restaurants.

Despite being an older house, everything was updated and worked. I forgot my wall phone charger but thankfully there were usb outlets near the bed. Just a five minute walk down the street from the Rialto made it the perfect location. There was a little hiccup with the door not unlocking when I first arrived, but the staff was quick to respond and the issue was resolved in minutes. The gated parking lot is also much appreciated. I will definitely be staying here again!

Over the top Victorian/Rococo decor! But comfortable and user friendly. Beautiful central patio, would want to be sure no weddings/parties were scheduled, though.

The Hotel was lovely and in a great location for walking. The neighborhood could still use some gentrification.

This was such a cute property, beautiful courtyard in the day and evening it was very inviting. The rooms were charming with antiques but still had modern comforts. Comfortable beds, very quiet and secure parking. It was also very close, walking distance, to all the action on a Saturday night.
