We came into town to see a concert and were very happy with the location of the hotel! The venue was walking distance away, and we enjoyed the Dinosaur Bar B Q right across the street. The staff was very helpful, providing me with a map of the area and explaining the walking route to the venue. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We like the fact that we were able to watch Netflix using our own account information. We will definitely be back!

The breakfast ran out of items at around. 9:30am which were not replenished ( oatmeal, sausage).

The place was great. We walked to dinner (Dinasaur Barbecue ) and then to a concert at Troy Savings Hall. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was great. Kudos to the omelette maker!

So many chain hotels skimp on cleaning, but we found this facility to be exceptionally clean by most standards. That really makes a difference to us. We also felt the linens were great quality, the coffee and breakfast was yummy, and the staff friendly. Keep doing what you're doing! There was a road race the first morning of our stay which got pretty noisy rather early. We don't hold the hotel responsible for that! And it was fun watching the activity. My only suggestion would be maybe to warn people checking in about the activity the following morning and that it will be noisy on the race side of the hotel and that driving in the area is impossible until the race is over.

Hotel was recently refurbished. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast had many choices. I couldn’t believe during a snow storm that happened while we were there, someone on the hotel staff scraped off the snow on our car!

Waited 15min. to check in while staff was in another room on private call. And didn't bother to apologize.

The Christmas decorating was stunning. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful!!

i was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was very clean and quiet. The hospitality staff were very friendly. The room was in great condition and the bathroom was plenty roomy. The fitness center was sparse, but the treadmill worked and I appreciated that they kept the temperature down so you weren't dying from the heat.

This hotel is well-maintained and staffed, and is ideally located at the edge of the historic downtown area, which is full of classic buildings and row houses. There is a very lively Dinosaur BBQ right across the street, and other restaurants nearby. Visiting Troy is an unexpected treat!

The only quirks were the sink design (low height and tended to spray) and loud AC unit. Great location near the river, RPI, and downtown retail and restaurants. Highly recommended overall!

Steps away from the Riverwalk with access to several waterfront restaurants. Bus stop right outside property. Location, location, location. Large assortment for breakfast (included). Fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes, burritos, eggs, bacon, links, potatoes, bagels, toast, cereal, coffee, juice, all the toppings you could think of. Top notch. Great for hotel quality. Only thing I didn’t like was no coffee pot in room, but so many shops nearby.

Staff was very helpful and they had laundry facilities. Perfect for our long trip.

There's parking, but also you can easily walk to several restaurants and the free breakfast is great with vegan options.

Great stay at Best Western Plus Franklin Square Inn! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the hotel was spotless. The location is perfect—right in the center of Troy, close to everything. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

Terrible experience. We arrived at 1 a.m. to find a transient outside the entrance, and there were no clear signs showing the lobby is on another floor. Staff made me feel like I was bothering them by checking in late. The room was the worst part—smelled like sweat and dampness, like a dirty locker room. It felt unclean, and I couldn’t even sleep worrying about bed bugs. I left the next morning and booked another hotel, even though this stay was prepaid. Not worth the money or the stress.

It was safe and clean. Just what I needed after a long busy day of work and travel. I got some well needed rest.

Placed in the heart of downtown Troy! Close to unique shops, great coffee shops, lots of dining options and the very best Saturday Farmers Market. Staff is always friendly, and they do a great complimentary breakfast.

The hotel itself is great, and there’s a neat little bbq place across the road, I would just avoid going out too far at night!

The hotel was lovely. Couldn’t give it 5 stars due to cleanliness. My room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. I asked about changing rooms and was told they were all sold out. Otherwise things were good. I didn’t partake, but the daily breakfast seemed popular among the guests with the lobby eating area full of guests each morning.

Good hotel, comfortable, inexpensive, and good quality. Cleanliness is good. Breakfast is bland and generic. Overall exactly what I would expect for a budget hotel. Parking lot is a bit confusing to get into. Troy is a mixed bag of decent walkable areas and some sketchy areas.

Spacious room, nice counter space/desk area. Good hot breakfast, elevator. No coffee maker, No Microwave in room. But coffee available in lobby. Sufficient lighting and outlets for electronics.

We arrived 5 hours later than expected, so I called the hotel beforehand to let them know we’d be late. There were no problems arriving late. They suggested a restaurant that would deliver food that late. It was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean rooms.

This property is great and centrally located. It is within walking distance to many restaurants, pubs and shopping. I asked not to be near a wedding party or animals and they gave us a room out of the way. I had a bad experience with this in the past but they heeded my request and it was awesome!

Loved the city of Troy. First overnight there. Great BBQ place right next door on the Hudson River. AMAZING farmers market filled numerous city blocks on Saturday. Will be back!

Cons: Can be pricey during peak season because there arent many other modern hotels around. The area around is great on the river side, and suspicious a few blocks over.

Location and facility were top class

Very small room, especially for a king size bed. Tiny and almost useless pillows for the king bed. Windows allow much street noise like music from a club or restaurant party across the street. Otherwise, bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, shower nice. Breakfast was okay. There was an issue about the amount of the charge for the pet fee (Expedia showed a different amount than the hotel shows on their website) but that was finally resolved after some initial back and forth discussion. Overall a 3.5-star experience.

Stayed there for 2 nights. It was a wonderful stay.

Came into town for son’s graduation. Whether wasn’t good, rain but overall a nice stay.

The room is very small, their breakfast was very worst, they are very sting don't put any fruits like no banana's or oranges or apples, nothing and no probiotic yogurts, there was no enough Oats also they don't even refill it even though it got finished by 8:00am which is so bad. I didn't see any kitchen staff was available there to help and no one was refilling. FYI their breakfast will finish at 9:00am i never seen and never heard that breakfast ends at 9:00am. One of the worst breakfast i had in any hotel in North America. Then their bedsheets started smelling bad. They barely provided one handwash bar in the bathroom for family of four which is very tiny one. I have no complaints for the front desk guy he was cool. Definitely i will not be coming back again.

Accommodated our early checkin which was a huge plus for us after our long flight! They forgot to let us know we needed to specifically request for housekeeping which was a bit of a downer. Otherwise - good staff/service and they serve breakfast which is super convenient to get a headstart to the morning.

The price was right and the location was excellent. Came into town for a show and was able to walk to the venue. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was better than expected.

To make matters worse, both the shower and sink were clogged. The water barely drained, leaving me standing in a pool of water while showering, which was really off-putting. I reported these issues to the front desk, but nothing was done during my stay to resolve them. I was really hoping for a more comfortable experience, especially given the price, but I won’t be returning to this location. If you're looking for a peaceful and hassle-free stay, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Our room had a large HVAC unit sitting just outside our window which made our sleep experience less than stellar. Any other room and I would give them 5 stars.

Stayed here for my wedding. Elevator was broken but staff helped with our bags to the top floor and they were very friendly and helpful. Clean hotel room, great free breakfast with a cool pancake machine. I would stay here again. Very close to walk anywhere you would like for food drinks etc. if you’re here on a Saturday perfect spot to stay and go to the Troy’s farmers market.
