This stay far exceeded my expectations. The body wash, shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion were all Dove products. The breakfast exceeded my expectations for a hotel breakfast and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was clean, the rooms, common area and breakfast area

My only complaints and the only reason I did not give 5 stars was there should be more lighting in the rooms. Also we could hear everything, to the folks staying next door to the people in the rooms above us walking back and forth all night. We thought it was just our room but heard similar complaints from our friends staying at the same hotel. Needs better walls or insulation to buffer sound.

We’ve been staying here a couple of times a year for 4 years and love it because the rooms are always fresh and clean, the staff, especially Jim, the manager is always so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast bar( as well as the woman who keeps it clean and keeps the food ready) is great. We feel safe there and it’s quiet.

Hotel was clean and well-located, perfect for our purposes. Husband said the breakfast was really good. I was surprised at how large the room was! Great experience overall.

The location was convenient. The hotel in which we typically like to stay at was booked out. We had to book two rooms because they didn't allow more than 5 people in one room. We were two adults and three children. The breakfast options were moderate and the hygienic could have been better. The rooms were OK.

The staff at this hotel is extremely helpful and friendly. They take the time to listen and talk with you about whatever you may need. The hotel is very clean, rooms are well taken care of, and being able to have a hot breakfast to get your day going is outstanding! I highly recommend you stay with these wonderful people and hotel should you need one in this area.

The reception staff and the breakfast staff were exceptional—especially friendly and helpful. Rooms had plenty of counter space, hanging hooks and charging options. It was nice to be able to open the window. Breakfast: Would have liked oatmeal (not instant) and half and half creamer (rather than synthetic coffee mate).

The facility and our room were very clean. My husband dealt with staff more than I did and he said staff were fine. Our room was large, the bed was comfortable and the TV was large. We didn’t eat the breakfast, but my husband said there was a wide assortment of food.

The hotel was a midpoint on a trip I was taking. It was very clean on the grounds, common areas and the room. The location is in a quiet location that felt safe. The staff was very friendly. Located conveniently off the highway.

Make sure to check your locks when you arrive. We were able to pick the locks by sliding our room key in the door of TWO rooms we were put into because the door didn’t meet the wall properly. Safety is important to me so this was something I wasn’t ok with . Third room was fine but make sure to check before you settle in to your room. (Both were on the first floor)

Easy check-in, clean rooms, comfortable beds and nice location.

The property was very comfortable and clean, close to the highway but still quiet. We didn't have to go very far for groceries or dining.We slept very well and breakfast had plenty of warm options. When the window shade in the room is completely down, not a bit of light gets through, a great feature for those of us who don't get up with the sun. And there was a grab bar for the shower, a great feature for us elderly folks with arthritis and knee issues.

Hope to come up with a reason to visit the area again, just so we can stay at Troutville,Va Holiday Inn Express again. Not kidding, there were no negative points. Great staff, room, breakfast, from checkin to checkout.

Quiet, clean, comfortable - everything you expect from the HIE. This hotel was a good example. The breakfast was excellent, as usual. My only gripe was that the shower head was stuck in the "massage" mode and would not allow me to switch it.

It was just what I was looking for. Quiet, comfortable bed, and clean. Nice breakfast as well!

We had to go back to reception desk 3 times because key’s didn’t work. Asked for another room. Unavailable . Finally asked the manager to come up and open our door. She eventually found a key that worked. The result was a 30 minute wait in the hallway outside our room. Not what you’re looking for after a long day in the car.

Stayed 2 nights to attend tournament at Botetourt Sports Complex. Convenient to Complex and decent breakfast. Pleasant personnel. Only complaint is noise from road and parking lot. Early morning motorcyclists sounded like they were in the room!

The room was updated, very clean, and smelled wonderful when we walked through the door! The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Breakfast was awesome! A great experience overall!
