Staying in a few Wyndhams, I look forward to their exceptionally comfortable beds — great mattresses that I’ve tried to get details on so I can get one! Staff at the Troutdale Travelodge is outstanding. They are exceptionally and reliably patient, sympathetic, and flexible. I’d compare this hotel to the Marriott in Little Italy, San Diego that is huge and well-located for tourism but the staff was nasty and repulsive such that I would recommend staying away. There were plumbing problems while I stayed here and I would have liked more calls such as the first time that they had to turn off water temporarily. Much more and pleasanter communication than Little Italy Marriott or Motel 6 in Chula Vista, CA or Motel 6 in Gresham, OR — I’ve experienced a range of accommodations and been MOST AT EASE HERE.

Entire place smelled like marijuana, bad body odor and the room smelled like dog urine. The bed was comfortable but everything else was so gross. There are shady people walking around the place and hanging out up front. People are smoking cigarettes just outside the entry door that leads into the rooms. The bathroom was disgusting and we couldn't even shower. We turned the water on and it can out a yellowish color.

The room seemed to be clean. The morning check out clerk was personable. The check in clerk was rude. The room was very small with little room for our luggage. The bathroom was outdated and we didn't feel comfortable showering there.

The room itself was fine. For starters I waited at the front desk for 20 minutes to check in. The parking lot had several abandoned cars in it. The hotel is in a very undesirable neighborhood. Did not feel comfortable at all. Not even in the room. Checked out immediately and went to a different location. Room was not refundable.

Everything was just okay. Nothing stood out and the front desk was not as nice as other hotels we didn't feel that warmness we usually get from hotel hosts.
- 5/5
I like the vibe here. I feel relaxed and welcome. The first time we stayed here, the TV in our room didn't have any streaming channels or premium cable channels, but the other 2 rooms we stayed in afterwards, had streaming channels available.

Uninhabitable room due to a strong mildew odor. We attempted to stay for an hour to see if the air conditioning or an open window would help, but the smell was overwhelming. The front desk's lack of concern was the most disappointing part; they simply said 'ok' when we explained why we were leaving. Very poor service and room quality.

Air conditioning didn’t work that well and there was no breakfast but other then that it’s was nice and quiet.

This “hotel” was the worst place I have ever stayed. We got in late at the airport and didn’t want to drive all the way home. This place is old and has not been updated which would be fine if it didn’t smell like a person died in the room with animal pee/poop cigarettes and who knows what else! The bed was so uncomfortable AND itchy there were only two flat pillows. This place was just horrendous. Sleep on your car instead
- 2/5
As far as the room, the inside of the bathroom door had splattered blood on it, like somebody was perhaps shooting up in there. I’m not sure how you miss that while cleaning. Pictures can be provided. For $96 total with tax, we were extremely disappointed.
- 3/5
The room was clean. Their website states vegetarian breakfast so I guess if coffee beans are considered vegetarian then it's accurate. According to the front coffee is all they provide. However the coffee pots were empty.
- 1/5
The room was raggedy. The shower curtains were hanging out by a thread, the window curtains were hanging off the rack and not fixed. The screen to the window was ripped, the ledge to open the window was also broken
- 2/5
Residents smoking constantly in hallway. Loud all night. Broken vehicles in the parking lot. Room was ok.

Parking did not feel safe but late evening so had no other choice. Difficult to even determine where the entrance was. Clerk was not at all receptive. To get to the stairs, walked through room with miscellaneous chairs, counter-tops, etc. then up a steep narrow stairway. People coming down needed to wait for us to get off the stairs because it was such a narrow area. The room appeared to have been started to remodel. There had been an area for light cooking. The burners had been removed and were just open holes. That area was completely unsatisfactory, and not sure as to how safe it might be. The bed was comfortable. Left early the next morning, did not see a single soul. Will never consider it again!
- 1/5
My stay at this hotel in Portland was disappointing. The first room had a bad odor, and I found small bugs near the toilet in the bathroom. After requesting a room change, the second room was somewhat better. However, the staff were consistently unresponsive — the front desk was often unattended, and I had to wait several times before anyone appeared. The hotel also required a photocopy of my driver’s license, which felt outdated and unnecessary. Noise from the floor above was constant and made it difficult to rest. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel due to poor cleanliness, lack of staff responsiveness, and excessive noise.
- 2/5
Room nasty ,staff great people , if you don’t care about cleanliness, an old Toro wore out furniture and all the light fixtures in your room working properly and the crack in your front door big enough for someone to look through into your room then this is the motel for you, the upside is the staff at the front desk was incredibly nice understanding I seem like they deserve to work at a better location than that.

Dimly lit, not clean, old bed and TV was analog, fuzzy and with no major channel selections. Window heat/air conditioning unit was one of the quietest I've experienced, worked well too.
- 5/5
Staff was great, fanily ran it looks like. The building is older but honestly the furnishings and cleanliness were above average. Had a great stay and will stay again
- 1/5
worst motel stay EVER. cockroaches in the room and staff at the front desk said "WE DONT CARE."
- 4/5
The beds are comfortable. Rooms are a little on the tight side but this Travelodge motel is way better than the Rosewood hotel or the My Place hotel or motel 6.
- 4/5
Very near concert venue
- 2/5
The smell of incense was so strong, the stained carpet going up the stairs. Super old outdated room, the place was the dirtiest place I’ve ever been in. We immediately left and booked somewhere else
- 4/5
The staff was nice. No pool, no breakfast. Clean.
- 3/5
This Travelodge was fine for our short stay, very convenient for a concert at McMenamins Edgefield, and with shopping and dining options nearby.

DO NOT STAY Mold!!!’ Horrible outdated sticky carpets, lumpy mattress, nvending machine not stocked,

I stayed at your property due to a convenience for an event I was attending. Woke up at early hours due to hostility by guest, police and overall terrible staff no amenities . Restaurant is closed.

Conveniently located near a concert venue in Troutdale. No other reason to ever stay here. Everything is pretty worn and dated and grubby. Staff was friendly. Nearby traffic was kind of noisy. Might be a pretty good place to die from an overdose.
- 5/5
Staff were friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable and quiet. Rooms are inside entrance, I would have liked an outside entrance.
- 1/5
the stove was taped closed with no knobs. the cabinets were held together with packing tape. everything was sticky. the noise from upstairs was so loud I need to use ear plugs. I just stayed in bed until morn ing so I could leave. unimaginable experience.
- 1/5
Stunk so bad in the room
- 1/5
Though the staff was nice, when letting them know about the bedbugs in our room they didn’t even blink an eye. The whole building has several different awful smells.
- 1/5
Property smells from guests using weed. Unclean areas around hallways and stairs and spider web inside room. Seems like not very safe too. Very ghetto.
- 3/5
Old and ‘tired’ property. Desperately needs remodel!!
- 2/5
The carpet was not very clean, they advised free breakfast and no breakfast was available, the lights on the bed stand did not work and there was no battery in the TV remote. The towels were very thin and small.
- 1/5
Eastside of property's parking lot had two abandon or wreaked vehicles and several cars drove in and out meeting others giving the impression of drug dealers. Walking into the motel there was an overpowering smell of cleaner and disinfectant that masked another indescribable smell. Everything was dated and worn. The grill/bar was closed with chairs stacked against the window making for a shabby appearance at the front. The carpet in the throughout was threadbare and felt sticky, the TV in the room had a red tint which was distracting and the remote was sticky and the list of channels was in a plastic sheet was so used and wrinkled that I could barely read it, some furniture was broken, bathroom towel rake was severally bent as if used as a weapon. Paper coffee cups were unwrapped, sitting on the counter, the bathroom desperately needed re-calking, the dresser handles were broken off so I couldn't use it, the towel rack was severally bent as if used as a weapon and though I did my check-in online, I had to do it again when I arrived. So much for convenient check-in process. There is morte, but you ge the idea.
- 3/5
The whole place smelt like cigarettes. The room was falling apart. The sink was disgusting. Right after entering the room we killed a cockroach. The tv was blown out we couldn’t watch anything.
- 5/5
Was nice and clean for what it was
- 1/5
What stay! Even I called and notified the office I’ll be late arrival which I’ve arrived around 1215am. Night employee says my room is gone and says it’s been overbooked. Worst part they charged my card all 4 days! WTH! $400+ being charged and I didn’t stay there. That night my family was homeless. We slept in the car and had to wait for the next day to check in another hotel. I want my money back!!!
- 4/5
Overall this was a pleasant stay. Im giving it a four star because of the cleanliness and the staff. There was a wierd smell upon entry which lingered. The first guy I talked to looked like he hated his job, which is fair but it's not my fault. He was not welcoming at all.

Eight years ago when I started staying here every month, this was a really nice place Yeah great restaurant/bar your aver travelers..after Covid it has gone down hill No rest no breakfast. It has continuously gone down hill. although the rooms are clean and kind of comfortable. It has become a transient type hotel with lots of people coming in and out of the back doors all night long. Lots of drama people yelling fights smells of weed. Last night, 3/23/25 Was the last night I will ever stay there rude people running up and down the halls, woman yelling she was being molested and the homeless people back behind the windows I could hear them arguing. This place is a piece of crap stay away. Do not stay here.
- 3/5
It was nice for the most part. Other than the room has an odor. Asked to change rooms and received a no. With no accommodations
- 2/5
Site because of the Wynsor name and the standards i have become used to with Worldmark, and it was one of the few that still had a room. I was stunned when i walked in to the lobby/check-in. It looked like it hadnt been updated since the 50s, and was run down looking. The motel clerk was very nice and efficent. He kept stressing that the front door would remain unlocked all night. THAT made me nervous right off. The other guests that I saw made me think this was more of a transient hotel. Very stetchy. Both my husband and i wondered if our car would be safe. The best thing i can say is it was very clean with what they were working with. My husband i barricaded ourselves ine the room and tried to get some sleep. What type of accomodations is Wyndom buying???? Obviously distressed property. Doesnt Wyndham look at what they are buying, and dont they care about what their name is associated with. This is actually the SECOND time i have stayed in a Wyndham hotel/motel, and unfortunately it was just as junky.
- 1/5
The whole building stinks, really smells bad. I could see the haze from smoke in the hallway, cigarette and pot smell very strong. The room was not clean, also stunk of smoke, I asked for fresh bedding that never showed up. Glad I had my own sleeping bag to use. Long wait time in the empty lobby to get any front desk help, including at check in. I moved to a different hotel in the area for the same price and was much more comfortable.
- 5/5
Very private and accommodating really nice time. I recommend it to anyone..
- 5/5
Easy to use helpful and useful
- 3/5
This Travelodge should get at least a 6.9 rating because I was shocked that the Motel 6 in Troutdale got a 6.8. We tried that Motel 6 recently based on that rating and I was like it should not have that rating, this Travelodge should. Even though this Travelodge didn't have a complimentary continental breakfast still it was way better than the Motel 6.
- 3/5
Front desk people very nice, also friendly housekeeping crew! Good staff and lower prices! Thanks
- 5/5
Easy and friendly
- 2/5
I really didn't care for any of it however it was old and antiquated rundown but the room was clean best part.
- 5/5
Friendly staff quite night ...it was nice.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome.
- 5/5
theres not too much to eat around the area, which was the only real struggle, but that's only because of the area it's placed. its kind of an empty, expansive area so you get a lot of quiet. there are ppl who race on the roads though randomly throughout the night, but that's pretty much anywhere i think these days. i think the only complaint i would have, which is not at the hotel so im not docking stars, is if you like your window open and you face the road, the coplot in wal-mart plays music relatively loudly so you will not be without a soundtrack to your stay. overall, it was a very necessary stay for me and it was made very lovely by everyone making it easy and accommodating. highly suggest if you need just a place to sleep in some quiet in a more homey setting, especially for the price. very worth it imo.
- 2/5
I having a trouble with them..they are trying to change me twice and l catch the room cleaner lady and the front desk lady trying to enter in the room when l was getting back from out side ...she told me that my stay it was only for one day l follow her to the front desk and l was about to show her my confirmation...she told me right away that l was fine.. l told her that l pay for 2 days straight...
- 2/5
Cost cheap and I got cheap.
- 3/5
Location was good for what we were in town for, but we had to wear socks because the carpets were dirty/matted/sticky, there was no door to the bathroom, and the room smelled like cigarette smoke and air freshener. Nothing too outrageous, but I wouldn’t stay here with a child…
- 3/5
It's Very close to local restaurants and attractions. Right off the freeway.
- 3/5
The staff was very helpful and kind with what they were given. Breakdast had been discontinued, roim was dirty or unkept in sime areas. Noisiest ac i have ever heard plus it kept turning on and off. Little to no sleep
- 3/5
This motel is tired, at least our room was - mishmash paint job on walls, stained / grubby lamp shades, walls need scrubbing, refrigerator's freezer needs defrosting. When we entered the room there was a pungent bleach odor (I had a can of room spray in my car which covered up the bleach odor).
- 1/5
There was nothing for breakfast except coffee, tea, and water. Giant holes in the ceiling just outside the lobby area. The pillows were useless. I will never stay at this location again and am shocked by the the disrepair for this level hotel and the high cost of it.
- 1/5
Did not like experience
- 3/5
Easy check in and internal, guarded or locked hallway to the room entrance which was nice for a motel of this price. Was quite noisy however outside and the area is a bit rundown. Easy driving distance to Portland or the Gorge.
- 1/5
I had a rather brief stay at this travel lodge with my friends. We got in from our flight just before midnight. At 6am my friend found a bed bug... he took photos. With that, we went to the old man at the front desk. When told and shown the photos, he shrugged and said "that happens" and told us he could refund us for the night we had not stayed. Needless to say we got out of there and went directly to a laundromat to heat treat our bags. It was a overal terrible experience.
- 2/5
It said non smoking facility and no pets. It stunk of animal smell and the first room we passed had the door wide open with a women smoking and an ankle biter running around.
- 1/5
Place smelled of weed! Someone tried to break in too our room only thing that kept them out was the bar on the door! Place is very out dated! Don’t waste your money! We were supposed to stay 4 nights left after a half night it was so bad!
- 2/5
The property is in a great need of repair. Doors didn't close. Miss-matched bedding and curtains and towels. Could see daylight on walls. There is no restaurant attached nor breakfast available. The bar/restaurant is closed and the breakfast area was never used - although it smelled like it had been. In fact the property had several strong smells. Between old fried food and overwhelming cinnamon covering smoke it was interesting.
- 2/5
Smelly, Small,
- 5/5
Everything was just perfect. I will go again and I will recommend it to my family and friends.
- 1/5
There was no bathroom door, the front door was not secure and looked to have been busted i.down at some point, carpet old ripped and disgusting, the smellnof the entire property was terrible, we did not even stay it was so bad and did not get our money back as of yet. It was definitely not what the pictures showed.
- 1/5
The room was unclean. The bedding was dirty. The AC didn’t work. The shower wouldn’t turn off and there were only two outlets in the room. One of which had the AC and one had the tv.
- 5/5
Inside made the property seem ugly. Staff was ok
- 2/5
Asked for bottom floor due to balance issue, was placed on second floor with stairs and other guest had to help due to unable to make up stairs, wall had hole in wall as if someone punched through it, no staff at check in. Very disappointed
- 1/5
Room had moldy and urine smell, no door on the bathroom
- 1/5
Very unclean. Terrible smell. Dirty beds. Gross. Smelled like old farts.

👍
- 1/5
The photo on Expedia was not what any room looked like. It was tiny, cramped, dirty, in a dangerous part of town evidenced by the razor wire on top of the fence around the property. There was no hairdryer. The "restaurant" had junk and furniture stored in it. It was terrible except for the bed which was surprisingly comfortable. I would not have sleept however had we parked a car in the lot.
- 1/5
They didn't cleaned the room in 1st day after we use garbge was in the room , bed sheets didn't get changed .
- 1/5
The entire place was run down very difficult to sleep, people were very loud in their rooms with their doors open. There was no continental breakfast. I didn't feel comfortable parking my car there.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Comfy beds, all of the staff are super punctual, polite and personable if you like to chat, but mind their own selves also if you prefer to hermit in your room. (Which is a huuuuge perk for me cause since I like lots of privacy) I have been super greatful to stay here and I feel like the staff here is deserving of a shout out and possibly an award for "most accommodating". And I mean that in a way that they treat guests like actual real people and not just wallets. There's a lot of other reviews I've read about the condition this place is in, from what I have experienced those reviews are from people who just suck in general at enjoying anything. Ever. Guess that leaves more availability for me!
- 4/5
It was quiet & convenient for my travel reasons. The price was very reasonable also. The service from the evening desk clerk was very nice. The service from the morning clerk was rather abrupt. She was also on the phone when i returned the key. It was like thanks but leave now. Not to friendly. Like the evening gentleman that checked me in. Thanks sir for making me feel like i was an important guest @your TravelLodge facility where you work. Sincerely: A traveler for business.
- 2/5
Check in staff wasn't friendly. Rooms and property are dirty and noisy.
- 5/5
This property is a little old and scruffy much like me. Sonit was a good fit. Comfortable beds and everything I needed.
- 3/5
Troutdale airport is pretty noisy same with the auto auction on the backside of the property. Staff is super great! Very friendly and helpful!!!
- 3/5
It was quite liked that. Didn’t care for the appearance of bathroom toilet was to low, door had a spot kicked in very 70 s reminded me of an apartment building that was converted into motel
- 1/5
First of all someone stole my coffee cup when I went in there think it was the front desk lady the place is infested with ants everything is outdated everything is dirty and scroungy. The staff is rude except for the maids they're nice. I would never stay there again
- 1/5
It was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The place is infested with ants. The staff was rude. I'll never stay there again.

Their was a hole punched into the bathroom door, shower head sprayed everywhere, sink would drain super slow, checking in great leaving counter help terrible
- 5/5
Very safe and quiet place
- 3/5
Good enough for the price. The coffee machine is not working properly.
- 2/5
This property desperately needs updating. Our room reeked of stale cigarettes, including the bedding & pillows. The bathroom door had a fist sized hole on the inside and the knob looked like it was damaged by someone trapped there. The staff was most helpful in accommodating a ground floor room.

Funky smell, trim on doors missing, bathroom door falling apart from moisture. Didn’t feel the safest
- 5/5
It was clean and quiet.

Hotel should be shut down as it is extremely unsafe due electrical issues of heater AC units. Staff seemed like they were on drugs. Bathroom door was kicked in and door locks were semi functional. Floor was ripped up and a hazard for elderly people. Outlets did not work. Shower did not drain properly. Very sad!!
- 1/5
Horrible hotel, stank like old cigarettes and mildew. The place was so filthy we almost walked out as soon as we saw it, but it was already too late to find another place to stay. I layed on top of the covers with all my clothes on and didnt dare touch the sheets. there were puch holes in the bathroom door. The Tv didnt work. If you tried to call the front desk it just rang and rang. I would sooner sleep outside with my children than go back to this place. Disgusting.
- 3/5
Hole punched in bathroom door, no Kleenex, 1 shampoo packet, we’ve stay in nicer places and thought Windham was better….even though it did say Travel Lodge. Our mistake. It a is definitely a two star motel, clean, friendly front desk, attached cafe is closed, went out of business. Two story motel and no elevator .
- 3/5
Easy to get to. Rooms were not quite up to par of the pictures online. Bathroom door had multiple holes and the entertainment/dresser had black top on the bottom.
- 1/5
If I had known what the Travelodge was like, I would have slept in my car. Dirty, nasty place. The area was bad enough that I was worried my car would be burglarized. The stairs leading to the upper floor looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in years. I didn't want to walk on the floor in my room in bare feet. Had a hole kicked into the bathroom door. Carpet wasn't clean. Bad, bad, bad.
- 2/5
Carpets are disgusting
- 3/5
It was pricey for the condition it's in. The sketchy people who hang out in back parking lot. It will do!
- 2/5
First room smelled awful! Had to ask to be moved.
- 2/5
The property itself was old and dingy. The mattress had no support and neither did the pillows. At least one of the exterior doors did not lock, allowing anyone to have direct access to the rooms at any time. I won't be going back there.
- 2/5
The lady in reception was really nice and is trying hard, but I think the only way to get the stink out of that room is to burn it down. The hallways smelled nice which made the stench of the room that much more awful. We confirmed with another guest that their room smelled awful as well. I rarely say anything negative in reviews because my momma taught me not to, but I felt compelled. $150 is s lot to pay to be grossed out. I should’ve taken pictures, but they wouldn’t have captured the stench. On a nice note, the grounds were really nice and the room was really quiet.
- 2/5
This hotel is awful.
- 1/5
This is the most horrible place to stay. There were holes in the doors and in the walls no grout in the tile, slipping tiles in the bathroom no amenities, no pool and no breakfast. We had no ice bucket in our room. When I asked for one they told us they have to look it took them an hour to get us one. They never once asked if we wanted clean towels or clean sheets and we were there for three or four days, there is homeless people living in the common areas strangers wandering through the parking lot at weird hours of the night. I felt unsafe you didn’t need a key to access any of the back doors. I would never stay there again.
- 4/5
Room is older and bathroom shower area needs some minor upgrades (trim, better shower curtain so water doesn't get out of shower area). Everything was in working order, even on a 96 degree day. No issues, really.
- 5/5
A very short drive to the Edgefield McMenimens, where we were going to a concert! Great room with everything we needed!
