We did not go to the breakfast buffet. Instead we went to one of the local combinis to pick out what we wanted each day. There is a Lawson Station essentially next door as well as a Family Mart and a 7/11 within a block. Similar but certainly not identical and lots of variety between them. The room was small although a little larger than a similar property where we stayed at our previous trip. The room was a little worn with scrapes on the baseboards and peeling wallpaper in a few spots, but it was very clean. As expected, the bathroom was tight but everything worked well. Good water pressure and as much hot water as we wanted. The room was quiet although there were a lot of sirens at night on nearby streets that we could hear when we left the window open for ventilation. The room AC worked well, even if it took a while to learn which buttons on the control did what. (There is an explanation sheet in the room, but even then it was hard to tell at times what each control really meant. The icons on the screen are kanjis and telling them apart when they are as small as they were took some time and as well as a good pair of reading glasses.) Maid service for room cleaning was every four days, on the other days the routine was to leave the trash bag and used towels outside the door and they were replaced along with a couple of bottles of drinking water every day. We didn’t mind not having the bed made for us every day as we didn’t have to make sure that we straightened everything up before leaving in the morning on the days the maid wasn’t coming. The only concern I had was that the wastebasket and its liner bag were very small and after shopping, particularly after getting meals at the combinis or local grocery stores, it filled up really fast. The room had a small refrigerator as well as a hot water kettle. Plenty of coffee packets and a variety of teas were available in the lobby. When we booked our two week stay, we thought we read that there was a laundry facility on the premises. We were wrong and had to walk a couple of blocks to a nearby coin laundry. It turns out that the hotel IS in the process of adding a laundry room and that will be a nice feature. Having said that, it has been my experience that on-site laundry rooms are a lot more expensive than independent coin laundry facilities. The machines in outside facilities cost much less for a wash and hold a lot more clothing. You do need to bring your own detergent (I carry some and it can be purchased at the local markets.). There are microwave ovens on several floors, but if your floor isn’t one of them, it can be a mild hassle. Luckily, there are two elevators for a fairly small hotel and they usually came quickly.

Room was quite spacious for the price/normal hotels around Tokyo. Location is really good, next to higashi-ikebukuro station, and 5 min walk from ikebukuro station

The location was great and only a 10 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. Check in was easy and they were able to put all 3 of our rooms close together. There were charging cords in the room but some were broken. The first thing I noticed was that all 3 of our rooms had a musty, moldy, and mildewy smell that seemed to come from the bathroom and humidifier. Even though rooms were tiny, they lack thoughtfulness for the traveler and are very poorly designed. For example, there wasn't any space for luggage. The bed frame was solid to the floor and therefore the space under the mattress was wasted and couldn't be used to store suitcases or shoes. Also, there was an awkward small bench that was permanently attached to the side of the bed, making it difficult to get in and out of bed. There were 3 hangers for coats that were placed right across the bathroom door, making it difficult to open the bathroom door without hitting your coat/jacket. The TV was placed on the wall to the side of bed instead of at the foot of the bed, so you would have to turn your head to the side to watch TV. In addition, a large plastic panel in one of the bathrooms kept kept falling off. If you needed ice, you had to go the 2nd floor, but if you wanted to get a drink from the vending machine, you had to go the 3rd floor, and the microwave was on another floor. It was an uncomfortable stay overall and I found myself unable to relax in my own room.

There is nothing in particular that I didn't like.

A fantastic find in Ikebukuro! A great location and the room was full of thoughtful amenities. Impeccable cleanness and getting to stay in the ladies only floor was a plus. I’m sad I only stayed for one night. I would have loved to spend more travel time at this hotel.

The breakfast was good. I had a frustrating stay at Hotel Resol Ikebukuro due to an unhelpful front desk associate. When my iPhone died during a trip, I politely asked to use a wall plug in the lobby to charge it briefly so I could continue navigating the city. The associate flatly refused, offering no explanation or alternative solution. To make matters worse, they taped over the wall plug afterward, which felt petty and unwelcoming. This lack of basic courtesy left a terrible impression, and I won’t be returning.

I love it, very small but there is everything in the room, very compact

Clean. Close to the things you need. Short walk to train station - JR Yamanote Super small room. Not ideal for family

I had no complaints!

The room is nice and clean, you have everything you need. The bed is very comfortable. You get water and new towels every day. It’s a bit walking from the station, so after long days it’s a bit far. It’s small (we know it’s Tokyo) yet we didn’t place to open the luggage. They clean only once in 4 days. The air conditioner was full with dust, so when we tried to use it all fall at us. In overall it’s nice hotel, but the value for money wasn’t so fare.

I liked it very much. It was very cosy and small. Thankfully I was only there for one night but the vanity and toiletry selection was chefs kiss

Attention to details is key. We delivered our baggage to the hotel through a delivery company and we found them in our room already at our arrival. There’s everything you need in the reception and the staff is very kind.

I had a nice stay. The staff at the reception was very attentive.

Hotel has very good location, rooms are very comfortable and practical, additional appliances had good quality, room was silent even with window opened
-
Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable even as the rooms are a bit small. Watch out for booking non-smoking if you are not a smoker. Unfortunately it wasn’t clear to us when we booked. So we got a smoking room the first night but staff was nice to change our room the next day.

Standard hotel room. Room size is quite small but it is typical in Japan. Location is good.

Good location, spacious room (for Tokyo), and friendly staff. Got free water and change of towels every day. It was okay for the price I paid. The wifi was terrible. It kept dropping the connection on both my laptop and phone. The room also had a ventilation problem. Even with the fans on, there was condensation on the window as the humidity was building up. This happened even when I didn't shower. After a while, I had to open the window, because it was unbearable, but then I had to put up with the noise outside. I was hoping that the dehumidifier function of the AC would help, but that wasn't helping much either. Not surprisingly, the bathroom had a dank, moldy smell as well. I was considering asking for a different room, because of it, but I figured all of them would have the same problem... I'm surprised I haven't seen others complain in the reviews about this.
