I booked this hotel in good faith through Booking.com, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Shortly after booking, the hotel messaged me asking me to cancel the reservation, which I found unusual since they could have canceled it themselves if there was truly an issue. When I declined to cancel, they simply replied, “Well, see you here.” Upon arrival, I was told there was an $80 per night, per room price increase due to a “booking fare error.” This was never disclosed before arrival. Had this been communicated in advance, I would have canceled and booked somewhere else. Instead, I felt pressured into paying a significantly higher price once I had already arrived. The hotel was also almost completely empty, aside from the rooms my group had reserved, which made the situation even more confusing. The staff was generally rude and unwelcoming, which made the stay uncomfortable. The only positive interaction we had was with the maintenance staff, who were polite and helpful. The room photos online look nice, but the reality is very different. The rooms are very outdated and feel poorly maintained. The couch has a pull-out bed that did not have blankets and had visible blood stains, which was extremely concerning. The rooms also have old carpet and overall the space just felt dirty and not well cared for. We also had an issue with the air conditioning not working in our bedroom. When we called the front desk, maintenance came to check it and confirmed that the AC was blowing hot air instead of cold. The front desk initially suggested giving us a fan to solve the problem, which we declined since that’s not an acceptable solution for a broken AC in a hotel room. We were eventually moved to another room after pushing back. I stayed two weekends, and throughout the stay we never felt welcomed as guests.

The room not really clean, the curtains were dusty when i slid them. The mattress was horrible. We weren't able to sleep at all... Staff was great though. Just need better mattress and cleaner.

Super cool place. Close to the border. The room I stayed in was used by Leonardo DiCaprio during the filming of the movie “Titanic.” Very peaceful, calm and quiet. There is also a golf course, restaurant, and bar, in the area. Highly recommend.

Loved the view from the third floor, but being a senior it wasn't easy taking two flights of stairs. Bathroom didn't have toiletries.

Place smell all or humidity, hair dry died after 2 minutes you turn on, you lucky if you don't electrocute yourself. To go anywhere you need to walk like to play tennis or paddle is far and you need to request permission, the gold car only for the people who play golf. I was on the king suite but it feels like cheap motel room. Price wasn't.

It will be nice if they have heated pool, water was super cold. Everything else it was good. Clean rooms 👍 and friendly front desk staff

No place to have lunch or dinner after 4:00 pm. They have a bar near but just cash only. No good food at all at the bar. No restaurant near the hotel. I payed in advance with AMEX. When arriving to the hotel they asked for $100.00 USD additional, to be reimbursed when leaving the hotel. I paid it with my personal debit card. Still waiting for reimbursement (after 3 days).

We have a bad experience. The hotel lacks maintenance and the installations are in poor condition. We had an Iron that overheated and damaged clothes. The room had a deep smell like moldy. We spoke to management and they were rude.

The property is outdated for the price, and the rooms are not very clean. Dirty stains in the carpet.. counters are broken.. sheets are grainy. Would not stay there again.

This place feels safe. They have a store on property the is open late for convenience. The building is an outdated but the grounds are well kept and cleaned.

Looking to spend the day at the pool but the picture is deceiving. Looks way bigger in the picture than it is. I knew the place needs to remodel, it feels outdated but Ok to rest. It’s really calm out there. Friendly staff… just didn’t liked being fooled by the picture of the pool.

Rooms need atencion. Remote control didn't work. In-house phone also didn't work. Front desk didn't answer my calls on the phone number listed on their pages till the next day hotel answered. Staff really friendly and warming. Swimming pool areas also need atencion. Jacuzzi the paint was peeling.

We love the location. The room itself smells like mold. The couch smells like it got wet . The whole room smells like mold.

The golf course is beautiful, and having a convenience store (Oxxo) on-site makes a big difference, especially since the location is quite isolated. If you're looking to disconnect from the city and enjoy golf, the pool, and quiet surroundings, this place gives you everything in one spot. However, the rooms are noticeably outdated, and the biggest issue is accessibility. There are no elevators or ramps, which means you have to carry all your luggage, coolers, and bags up and down stairs. That’s a serious drawback for families or anyone with mobility issues. While the staff is very friendly and willing to help, they’re not always readily available — and it often implies tipping just to get basic assistance. The location and amenities are solid, but the infrastructure really needs investment to make it more comfortable and inclusive.

Gear room and check in . But t mosquitoes all over in the room . We called front desk and let them know . Also , fire extinguisher alert on the wall missing . Breakfast was not available.

My experience here was extremely disappointing. The pool was dirty, and the facilities were in terrible condition. The TV and fridge didn’t work, the kitchen was completely unusable, and to top it off, the golf course had a terrible sewer smell. This place is clearly not being maintained, and it felt like nothing functioned as advertised. Definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Friendly and respectful

We had a great stay at Real del Mar Hotel & Golf Resort! The staff was super friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. We especially enjoyed the on-site restaurant—the pizzas were delicious, and the pesto pizza was a standout! It was also really convenient to have an Oxxo and a bar right inside the resort. Although we didn’t use the jacuzzi or the pool, it was nice to know they were available. Parking was easy and conveniently located near our room. Would definitely stay again!

Rooms are extremely outdated and in worn out conditions. Very poor lighting, the website pictures are definitely deceiving. What you see in the pictures is not what you get. Do not expect a resort by any means. It was disappointing unfortunately.

The dinning and entertainment was good. The rooms could have used a bit more due-diligence in room management with cleaning and function status of appliances.

Every July, my family of 50 (sometimes 75 ) has a birthday/summer gathering. This year, we decided on this hotel. All was good until we actually arrived. Weeks prior, we checked to make sure the hotel could accommodate our family. They said yes. We asked for an area to gather, bbq, and play Cornhole. Sure, they said. Upon arrival, we discovered there was a wedding taking over the areas we had designated for our family. It would've been nice if they told us that. We were limited and confined to the pool area. There were communal restrooms that we and the wedding party shared. As more people used these restrooms, the smell of sewage would grow. Our rooms were lackluster with old decor. Our beds were very OLD. We brought our own sheets since the covers looked like they were from 1984. There was NO hot water in the showers. Wait a little while, they said. 10 minutes of running water, nothing. Needless to say, my hot flashes were my saving grace that weekend. Just outside our window was an atrocious smell of the sewer. It only got worse as the weekend went on. Since there was a wedding, my entire family was shoved aside to accommodate them. We went to the onsite restaurant to have dinner. Our wait was over 1.5 hours for food since there was the wedding party having their dinner. We watched as plates came out and they were not ours. On the last evening of our stay, the sewage smell emanated into our room and it was unbearable. We left at 4:00 a.m. I give them a -10.

From the outside and via pics the resort looks a lot nicer than what it is. For the price though, it wasn’t bad but there were some things that made me wonder if our room had been unoccupied for a few years. I opened the window in the bedroom and ended up with a bunch of white powder all over my clothes and the top of my head. Whatever that was, it was all over the curtains. It got on my kids too. Some drawers didn’t close all the way in the bathroom sink. The ceiling had some cracks. Overall not terrible but I think at the very least the curtains should be replaced, the window screen replaced as well. The AC worked well, the fridge, microwave etc all worked great. The pool was cold, the jacuzzi too. This was after 6pm though. No ATM on site. Parking is great, you park right in front of your room. The Oxxo conveniently within walking distance inside the property and closes at midnight giving you plenty of time to get in there. The restaurant Brunette was awesome. The food was great and the service even better.

Nice property with nice views of golf course I had an ocean view which was nice. The room was a bit outdated but still decent.

What I like the most about the property is that I felt safe. Also, the place was clean and quiet.

Pool is outdated , jacuzzi jets don’t work at all . It smells all over the resort , water plumbing issues. But the staff was super friendly and helpful

There was a horrible stench throughout the property. No wifi and no cable TV. No lighting in restrooms for three days. Maintenance did not respond. Only one towel provided per person.

In our room the carpet was smelly cans of all the linen and towels kind of old. Room has a kitchen but the stove was rusty. We will come back again make sure they clean the room better.

The property is awesome. The room has everything you need, very clean. The view was breathtaking . The staff very nice. Alberto was awesome took us around the community telling a lot history of the property. Excellent staff service. I will stay again for sure.

The laundry room for guests does not exist. No room service. No spa. Room was large. Hot water was good. If is older but nice very simple place. Lots of stairs. Staff was nice. Don’t eat at the restaurant but the bar is super cool.

Rooms are very old. Spider webs in room, stains on wall. Asked for a room first floor due to knee issues but they didn’t tell us that you need to walk 50 steps down to get to room. Snake came out when hanging out in pool area.

What we didn’t like about this property was the smell of the complex. Person at the front desk said it was maybe because they water the grass with recycling water but it smelled like human water in the air. We could not get an answer but the smell in the air was not a good one.

Casual yet very fun place. Staff awesome . Great time. Don’t miss the stripper pole dance floor where you get to choose music.

My room had a view of the golf course and the ocean. There's a convenience store (Oxxo) inside the hotel. If you are going out, take an Uber because taxis are very expensive. From the hotel, an Uber to Rosarito is only $9.

The good: clean, AMAZING VIEW and I mean AMAZING, delicious food and yummy drinks. Great price for ease of mind, parking was free, they have security, pool but cold, full kitchen and living room The bad:

Clean but old rooms. Looks like furniture has been replaced in years. Mattresses were pretty bad. No cable and antenna / digital channels were limited. One and dine for us.
