The property was beautiful and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable for my husband and I to sleep in, each morning we woke up very sore.

We loved the breakfast! The spa is a total 100 % recommended SHOUT OUT TO CARMEN FROM THE SPA SHE DID AMAZING !!!

We have stayed at this hotel twice because it is very nice and close to the border. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is also very good. There’s nothing really wrong with this hotel.

I like the location of the property. Although it was not quiet, the parking lot down below from our room had a lot of brand new cars.And they car alarms, kept going off throughout the night. Telephone would not work electrical plug outlet, not working faucet in bathroom drips all day and night. Finally, had the t v man come up and fix the t.V. I didn't like, what's the room? It was noisy? Two high tech hard to even turn the lights on. Water in the bathroom dripping all night long. Main complaint you can't order room service when you're inside of your phone. Does not work in the room and thank god I brought my own electrical plug.I don't know what I would have done without it

Don’t even try checking in between 3-6pm. They aren’t fully booked or even busy. You’re obviously American or from a country where that price isn’t unusual. Who else would pay $200 for a room in a city known for crime & violence. Your wait is so long because they refuse to allow you to bring up your own luggage or walk yourself to your room . They make sure concierge (1 person) takes you (gotta get that tip $$$). The only thing this place is concerned about is about how much $ you’re forking over. If you’re an American DO NOT stay here unless you want to be double charged for a room (after already staying 3 nights) & have the rude manager blatantly disregard this. I booked 2 nights through booking.com & paid for another with the hotel when I arrived. A glitch happened while trying to book another night here on booking.com & it booked me for the date I already paid for. The manager REFUSED to change the dates to the correct ones & after calling booking.com customer service I was told it was absolutely not a problem & sometimes this mistake happens if you happen to leave the app & return to it, even moments later. All the hotel had to do was approve the date change on their end & the manager WOULD NOT!!!! The booking.com agent on the phone said in the 11 years working there that they had never experienced a hotel do this to someone. Mind you, this is the most expensive hotel in TJ & I planned on getting spa services, had spent well over $1000 in accommodations & room service daily (It was not even the first time staying there spending that kind of $$). They don’t offer late checkout. WE WERE TREATED AWFUL! Save yourself the blatant discrimination & disrespect. The hotel across the street was half the price, the people working the front desk were the NICEST & most accommodating (free late checkout) they have 3 casinos, room service, & even have spa treatments available from 7am-11pm daily.

The room was small and dark. We could not open the blinds nor curtain because the windows were facing the main public street and were translucent. It felt gloomy and claustrophobic. The haur dryer dud not work, the phone was not user friendly and couldn't figure out how to make a call to reception.

Staff charged me extra for a 3rd adult when it was a room with 2 beds and they refused to waive as a courtesy. I could have been upgraded to a suite which was at least 100-200 dollars more, but it was only 1 king bed so I refused. I had to ask if that upgrade was available though, a proper high scale hotel should offer this if they see I qualify. They still refused to waive the extra adult fee, which was dissapointing. The property is upscale and clean, stayed at the pool floor with a private jacuzzi, definitely a plus.

When we arrived to the hotel they offered no valet service. We parked in a parking structure aside from the hotel. There were no bell me to help us with our luggage. We arrived a bit early and weren’t able to check in

Worth the money

The hotel looked OK, but there wasn’t very many restaurants to eat in the area and the breakfast was made with seed oil so you couldn’t eat the vegetables. The coffee was sour and one morning the server decided to take quite a large tip from me saying that he didn’t have any change. I had to go downstairs in order to get ice. There’s no ice machines on the floors. The only positive is that it’s attached to a hospital where we had surgery. Other than that I would definitely stay down the street at a better hotel.

Location is great if you are going to NewCity Medical Plaza and free breakfast. The beds are a little on the hard side but better/sifter than the Hyatt (which also has free breakfast). Hotel Lucerna has the best/softer beds but more $$$ and no free breakfast.

Excellent stay with front desk very accommodating and love the digital shower. I gave 2 stars less on property as my room was hot when I got in and it took 1 hour to cool the room. Also, there’s only 3 plug your own electric vehicle ports which 2 weren’t working. The other client left the car over night which I couldn’t use for mine and the other designated spots for EV cars were being used by Gas cars. Comfort was 3 out of 5.

Was rude wasn’t trying to help what so ever with room Upgrade when I paid a significant amount to stay there. I came in late and left early and still couldn’t get a better room I stayed in a handicap room. Awful experience.

The staff at the hotel was very kind, professional, and helpful. The rooms were in great condition and looked new, which was nice. However, I was disappointed with how my special anniversary request was handled. I chose this hotel because it looked like a romantic place for couples on the website. They offered to decorate the room to make it special, When I decided to cancel the alcohol (which was overprice), they said they wouldn’t give us any surprises or decorations anymore because we wouldn’t pay for the alcohol. That was a bit disappointing and took away from the celebration

The rooms were clean and staff was friendly but the rooms felt a bit too small for the price. Though the blackout shades were nice you were also able to hear the cars at night because I had sound machine it kind of cancelled the noise out. There are a lot of conveniences as far as food, groceries and pharmacies nearby so that was a plus. The parking was a bit crowded so plan accordingly.

Overall my stay at Quartz hotel was Good, it could’ve been great but I found myself stuck for 2 hrs inside of the restroom until maintenance was finally able to open the door. They did accommodate me after with a free upgrade to a suite and spa credit. The staff were great . Only other complaint is the plumbing, the drains were very slow and black sludge would come out at time.

The front desk was not friendly and they had too many people working reception.

The hotel was very nice and conveniently located next to the medical center I had my procedure at. I paid $267 total for a standard double for one night.The room was very clean and modern. It was located on the 7th floor and faced the street, no noise was heard.My issues were the control panels for all the fancy lighting and curtains had no instructions.While turning off the bathroom light I pressed the button twice and the whole room went dark, tv turned off, and outside curtain went up.That was strange.We were hungry and could have taken advantage of their 24hr room service but the phone was inoperable.There was a 7/11 also on the same property and felt safe to go get some snacks.The usb adapter next to the bed was damaged, as well as the electric outlet. The background light behind the tv was stuck flashing.The soaps provided in the shower weren’t quality and could definitely be improved.We needed extra towels and requested them at the front desk after we had to go downstairs for food.They came to the room very promptly.The staff were all very professional and attentive.They apologized for the phone being out of order but said it could not be replaced until the following day.That was unfortunate as if we would have had a medical emergency, assistance to our room would have been difficult to get. The breakfast included was delicious and was available until our very convenient checkout at noon.This would have been a 5 star stay if not for those inconveniences.

We received a fabulous upgrade overlooking the hotel pool. The breakfast is outstanding with plenty of fresh coffee and delicious fresh croissants and cinnamon rolls from the in house bakery, all before the main breakfast arrives. The breakfast choices include world class chilaquiles or pancakes or all American breakfast; I chose the healthy egg whites with salad.

Solo el detalle en el check in que se debe dejar garantía de 4,000 con una tarjeta de crédito forzosamente y no traíamos, así que tuvimos que pedir que nos aceptaran depósito de 4,000 pesos. Esto solo me ha sucedido en ese hotel y quiero pensar que porque son políticas muy parecidas a los Estados Unidos pero recuerden que estamos en México, aún cuando sea frontera! Se olvidan que somos mexicanos! Además viajamos muy seguido, cuando menos veinte veces al año y por eso aseguro que es el primer hotel con esa política y según estaba al contratar en expedía, que quizá no leí. Pero repito, primer hotel porque ni en Europa me piden esa garantía!

Was very easy to get to from the border. Breakfast was wonderful. Bar at the pool was under stocked and the staff at the pool bar seemed over it both times we hung out. Everything else was great. The shops and restaurants in the plaza were awesome. Tijuana is underrated

The location is great but the service sucks. The curly hair guy in the restaurant who I believe was the hostess wasn’t nice at all. He has a really bad attitude, he doesn’t made us feel welcome. Honestly we expect a better service because the hotel is really nice and it’s not cheap. I don’t think I’m staying here ever again.

Too much noise if your room is facing the Main Street. As in any hotel property, you will encounter dedicated and polite staff and others who appear to be unpleased to be there and transmit that energy.

It was about as nice as a hotel could be in TJ. Clean and professional staff and free breakfast. Unfortunately the AC stopped working in the middle of the night which was less than fun. Someone came to help but it didn’t stick.

The reservation was made in error and the hotel would not cancel even though I called within minutes.

The noise level from the street facing Ley, gets extremely noisy with music and traffic. Loud enough to where it's hard to sleep. Also, on one of the nights there was a horrible smell in lobby and it went to rooms through vents. not sure what was causing the bad smell, but others in lobby and elevator complained also.

We had an overall good experience, especially for the good price we paid, but there are a lot of improvements that should be made in order for us to consider this a 5-star hotel.

This is a beautiful luxury hotel, modern, clean, and well maintained. Everything was excellent, but the bed was too firm for my back and wasn’t comfortable for me. Aside from that, it was a fantastic stay.

Stayed here for two nights mid week with 3 other girlfriends all in our late 40s. Came to TJ for some pampering and girl time. Beautiful hotel, super clean and comfy. The staff are all very kind and professional. Everyone speaks English. The free breakfast was delicious. You can’t beat this location, close to the border, close to great food, spas, pedicures and shopping. Will definitely be back.

Not many employees were bilingual and often had trouble finding someone who spoke any English. Also no late checkout regardless of offering to pay extra- wanted to stay late to do some spa services but due to the fact they wouldn’t allow me to stay an hour or 2 later, I couldn’t. Everything is clean. Definitely the closest you’re going to get to a US like hotel in MX. I expected kinder service for the price I paid, but I would stay elsewhere & save $$ & at a place they actually appreciate your business. If you’re looking for a fancy place to stay & can speak Spanish, you will surely enjoy the place.

We enjoyed our 7 day vacation at the Quartz Hotel. However, during our check-in at the front desk, we noticed that the receptionist (Jim) was slightly rude and condescending towards the family ahead of us. When it was our turn to check-in, Jim continued to be very rude and condescending towards me and my family. My family was quite upset with Jim’s attitude towards me. It was absolutely uncalled for because we maintained a pleasant attitude throughout. I would like to thank all the other staff that were warm, kind, friendly and helpful during our vacation. Special thanks to Brian. Brian was especially kind to us and engaged with a friendly attitude and warm conversations every time we saw him. I love your the Quartz Hotel but we will not be returning because of Jim

For us, who were undergoing medical treatment, it was very convenient to stay there since the hospital where the procedure took place was right next door, New City Hospital. The reservation was made through Expedia, but we booked directly with the hotel; we would have received a discount. The hotel is very nice, I loved the food, and the service was very good. Regarding the cleanliness of the room, specifically the bathtub, I believe they could improve.

The bed was not comfortable at all, very stiff and not enough pillows. There was trash left behind from previous guests which did not leave us with a good arrival experience having to find that behind the curtains/blinds. There was also not enough towels (wash cloths, hand towels etc) there were only 2 bath towels and one mat. The price was not terrible but for that price we expected the minimum amenities and cleanliness and we did not experience that at all! It’s a shame because we really loved the location, we would come back if these issues are resolved and the price meets the amenities and cleanliness. Thank you!

It was my first time there and everything is what was said. The one thing I was surprised was with the bed and it had extra features like the massage/vibration and the adjustable positions which was pretty cool. I will return there again.

It is a very nice property which had cool spots within same property, just outside of the front entrance. Felt comfortable and safe at this location. Just make sure you confirm what kind of room you are reserving as they offer various kinds, including a Wellness room which I would not recommend. It was 2 of us and this room's bed was way too small, it was either for 2 kids or for 1 adult. We had to change rooms.
