Grand Hotel Tijuana

The property is a fantastic view of a golf course. There is good hotel security. Very limited menu. Constant smell of cigarette smoke even though I complained about it. Late at night into the early morning. Sometimes the AC couldn’t keep the room cold enough. Dimension that they had a pool; but, the pool was out of commission. I had a medical emergency; my mom had a stroke, it made me pay for the nights that we were not at the hotel. That was their right; after all my stuff was in the room, on the other hand, a stroke can’t be so common that they had no sympathy to give me at least a discount. The first night as well I came at 4 AM, but it was charged full price for only A few hours. Their customer service is very weak. They’re focused on the on site casino, and the fact that the local basketball team lives at the hotel.

When I initially booked my reservation, it said breakfast was included. When I arrived at the property and went to breakfast, I was told I needed to upgrade my reservation in order for it to include breakfast. Which costed me more money. I’m planning to write a formal complaint and make a formal refund request. Having to pay in addition to what I had already paid. Finding roaches in places there shouldn’t be. My account was charged in addition to me giving permission. That’s unacceptable.

The buffet for breakfast was good but expansive, the offer sushi and it was dry, the pool next to breakfast was empty, very disappointment for someone traveling with kids We are looking for a nice hotel to stay with kids, the pool pictures of this place shows a very nice pool area. When we arrive the pool was empty without real date to open, I tried to ask the manager for something that I could do with kid. He couldn't be careless dont even knowing what to recommend around or try anything to help the situation. The parking for guesses are charging over and over every time you need to get out. Couldn't them charge the room a price that include parking?!? Our room was missing pillows for the sofa and basic things. They build a big building and think by that they could call it a "grand hotel". Grand building but small, careless and expensive service, that's what they are.

I enjoyed my the view that my room had. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The pool and jacuzzi were also very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions.

Amenities were good, hotel lobby nice and clean, location perfectly located. We found our room not clean properly, food on the floor carpet, we had to call front desk to have someone come and vacuum the room, we left and when we came back to the room my iPhone charger was missing. Never found it.

One small pool with a small single jacuzzi for such a big hotel. A bounch of teens were hovering over the jacuzzi for ever and never got our. The staff let them party and wont let anybody else in it.

The room needs a renovation badly and was partially under construction.

Room was clean , this was my 3rd time staying this year but still have not gotten a room upgrade benefit, twice before I stayed one night only , this time I stayed 2 nights and I got a shower with a curtain, before I got a walk in shower much better ….why …?

Definitely, we will stay in this hotel for our future trips to Tijuana.

The room was very good; the TV screen was however too small. I don't like the fact that you do not have an ice machine on each floor. And room service has to be called for ice. Overall I would rate the stay on a scale of 10 and 8. And would appreciate you keeping your pricing low as there are other hotels I can patronize. Thank you.

Okay…… the place was very nice. It was very well. Located close to a lot of places to eat now the staff let me tell you something I live in Los Angeles, California and I’m Hispanic, but I’m brown. They were not very nice. They talk to you down like if you’re begging for a place to stay when BRUH… I got money to spend there still I felt like they were looking down on us and we were well dress. It’s not like we show up looking like homeless room was very clean. Very nice. I like the fact that in the bathroom, they have everything that you need that you forget your toothbrush they have it They have the rugs with the complementary slippers and that was kind of cool property is well located and very quiet. You don’t really hear a lot of noise this by being right in the center of the city. I will stay there again, not for the staff, but for the place itself.

I stayed 2 nights and the first night their personnel didn’t clean my room and with the parking every time you go out you need to go all the way to reception to get a stamp, what is totally inconvenient.

Water was brown, guest services was hateful and we were made to move in the middle of the stay.

Their fire alarm had a noise every 10mins impossible to sleep, towels where dirty from last stay. Tried to use Kleenex only had 2 and the box empty. The bathroom door had to slam it hard to close it.

Our third sraythe other stays were excellent this one was not good. The room was dusty the bathroom faucets dripped the tube faucet was olf with a color marker line for hot and cold had to call for coffee machine cups coffee they didnt bring no sugar cream spoons. No iron no extra clean blankets and pillows. The in all was old and musty .

I have many years staying at this property. I left a a very important personal item in my room. I did not notice til I arrived home. I called several times to ask for my item and to follow up. The staff said I would get a call back and I never did. They said they would look into my lost item and they never did. They said I will call you for information, so I did not have to call back. Very unprofessional service.

We always stay at this hotel because is easy, convenient and closed to the border ,costumer service is usually great, we had few incidents on this trip tho, housekeeping just walk into our room because she assumed we had checked out even though we had one more night to go, at night we receive a call asking what time we were checking out because they were conducting a survey something they could do when you check in or check out , no need to call at night to figure that out. I love this hotel is usually my first choice when in TJ but they do need more communication when it comes to walking into a room without notice because they just think nobody is there.

Everything was fine; the only issue we had is that every time the elevator arrives at the floor, it makes a sound that can be heard inside the room. One night, around 3:00 a.m., the elevator sounded more than three times, and the next day at 6:00 a.m. it happened again. If it were possible to silence that sound, make it softer, or even change the doors of the rooms, it would make the stay much more pleasant.

It's surrounded by great food and places to have a drink. I heard good things about the restaurant there, but didn't get a chance to try it.

It is a very nice to stay as many day you palming for vacation or any other personal issue

Booked room with free breakfast included. At the hotel, they have a breakfast buffet but we were informed we would receive a continental breakfast located in the louge area consisting of 2 small pastries, one serving of yogurt / fruit and coffee. Expedia and the Hotel need to specify what kind of breakfast is included with the booking. If would be nice to know this ahead of time when booking.

Room was dusty and the bathroom had lots of hair the curtain on the bathroom was old and dirty with hairs all over the curtain I did told the lobby desk. Hopefully they do supervised the cleaning.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The only downside was that they do have a casino, and although this might be a plus for some people, it does increase the smoking smell in the facility. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Also location. was Prime. Very easy to get around, but definitely stay here again.

This hotel is still the best in Tijuana , but services are terrible now. Ordered some burguers sliders at their restaurant waited fornover one hr and nothing. Couple next table was wasted for almost 2 hrs , told them to get close my tab and they still charged me for the food i never got it . After many years time to find a new hotel in town

I booked 2 rooms, when I arrived around 3:30 p.m. I was told only 1 room was available. I left then my phone number and asked them to leave a Voicemail in case I didn’t answer. Waited about 2-3 hours and had to go downstairs to ask front desk if the room was ready? They said yes, so I asked why they hadn’t called me as I had 3 extra guest in my room trying to unwind and relax in their room. Not much was said except sorry. No comp. No upgrade no late check out was offered for the inconvenience. nothing was done just given my extra room key card. Other than that, the pool area was nice to cool off half of the pool was great for non swimmers and kids the other half of the pool was pretty deep. Had an area for drinks and had cabanas and lounge chairs on first come first serve basis. Casino was a hit! Small and you need your id to get a playing card. They comp you $10 to play, but if you win they deduct the money they comp. you and say oh this is only to play not counted as a win. A Paloma at the casino was about $5 so good price. Overall I would stay again if I needed a 1 night room.

I loved everything about the hotel. But the staff was little rude, especially the server that was working in the area of the pool. He ignored me the 3 days I was in the pool he even told me to order from my room, my last day I asked him again if i could order something and he ask another server to take my order, he's horrible. Other than that, everyone else were super nice the food is amazing my stay was ok just that little detail about the server.

Grand hotel is my favorite in tijuana i use it a lot but last time it was my best friend's birthday and my freind and his wife travels a lot so i invited them to introduce them to the place they loved it to and my other friends loved it so much. Thank you guys for your hospitality.

The hotel is very safe, nice pool and walkable to Xolo stadium. However the elevators take for ever. I supposedly had a VIP stay and paid $18 for breakfast and literally it was a continental breakfast, coffee, juice, yogurt and bread. My room key said I was receiving a complimentary continental breakfast but I actually paid for it during my reservation. Not worth it. Otherwise the hotel is nice.

I always stay here when I come to Tijuana. It’s clean, safe, beautiful and great customer service! They have a delicious breakfast buffet and the waiters are so nice! Great place to stay!

The room was clean and well-maintained, but I did feel the hotel could benefit from some modernization. A few updates like newer light fixtures, fresher carpeting, and updated bathroom hardware would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience. That said, it wasn’t a major issue and didn’t detract much from the comfort or quality of my stay. I’d happily return and recommend it to others.

Unfortunately, our experience with the room was disappointing. We booked a Grand Room expecting added perks like brunch access, but none were provided or explained. The A/C barely worked, and it took over 6 hours for maintenance to respond. Even then, the room remained uncomfortably warm. Our tub also wouldn’t drain properly. The on-site café had mostly empty food trays, and prices were similar to the U.S., which was surprising. My Expedia VIP food & drink discount was also not acknowledged at check-in. Lastly, the casino was small and underwhelming. Unless the price is significantly lower than other options, I’d recommend staying elsewhere. We won’t be returning.

I always had have a good time not this time my daughter went to the room after the pool to our room and this metal fell down from the sprinkler and almost knock out my 5 year old granddaughter thank Jesus nothing bad happened i showed the front desk since i was on FaceTime and i was at the bar they just said we will send maintenance not even a sorry !,I order food that took over 11/2 hours to get there I tried canceling but they told me they had come to my room and no one answered and we were here they would come again with the food ,the food was cold and not even the kids ate it because it was cold and fries were hard , I didn’t argue I was frustrated we just when out to eat , I can’t say it was a nice day

When in Tijuana I always stay at The Grand Hotel, the customer service is amazing. The food in the buffet restaurant is absolutely fantastic the servers are excellent!!

We had not t slept because of our flight delay with Volaris and they gave us a late checkout and a corner room where we didn’t hear anything. So thankful for this. Cappuccinos down stairs were top notch.

Stay when I go to Tijuana

I think the rooms need to be a little overhaul, the view was great, however, the windows were dirty and I couldn’t take good pictures from my room.

The breakfast is not good. There are two types of breakfast, one is a large setup that includes a egg station and a lot more, the other is a shorter version ( the last one sucks, I complained with management and they did not care to acknowledge ).

Sheets on bed were dirty we notified staff. They went to change and they only flip the around but didnt change. After we wer back to room found same stains on other end of bed bit same sheets. We were tired and juat wanted to rest so we leave it put sheets to floor and went to sleep

The beds are hard, had to sleep on a couple of pillows. The water temp goes from melt your skin off hot to cold by adjusting the shower by a millimeter. Once you get it right it fluctuates on its own so be ready to step aside at all times.

We’ve stayed at this hotel before (Feb 2025) and it was excellent. The staff was THE best. THIS stay was very different. The doormen were still their AMAZING selves. One of them even remembered my name. I never have to touch the door, because they are so attentive. However, room service and the front desk were a different story. We asked for ice several times because there wasn’t a fridge (first stay there was a fridge) never got it, not even once. I talked to the front desk about a random charge (not the deposit) they couldn’t tell me what it was for and made zero effort to find out what it was for(probably for the ice we never got). I left with no solution because it’s senseless to argue. I should have asked the doormen for ice. I will say, the cleaning was impeccable. Our room was always clean and smelled incredible. Sadly, I would hesitate to stay here again, because if you are going to randomly charge my card that I trust you with, you should be able to explain the charge to me. As of today, it’s not a “pending” charge, it went through. I will be disputing it with my credit card company.

Walk across the street to a small restaurant called “La Cocina de mamá”. That restaurant was fantastic!!!
