DoubleTree by Hilton Portland - Tigard

Good location. Great room. Great bed and TV. Lobby was dirty, although there was construction going on. Plates and cutlery were dirty for breakfast. I had to go back to find cutlery and plates that didn’t have food still on them after we picked them out of the clean cutlery dispenser. Hallway had spilled food in it - staff seemed totally unaware and need to be more mature and professional.

The room was well furnished and clean. The air conditioning unit was quiet and the staff extremely polite and helpful. The breakfast was good, My only gripe was the noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom and the bathroom door is not properly installed and makes a loud scratch noise when closing. This wakes my partner up when I am using the bathroom. I am happy with my stay especially with the reception staff.

However, the toilet is kindergarten height, and the bathroom door squeaked like a rusty castle gate in a horror movie. Very annoying in the middle of the night. And cable tv offered no live local programming, only that pre-recorded stuff on a loop that Samsung has. Their warm chocolate chip cookies almost made up for the deficiencies, but not quite.

The room was generally clean. The bathroom fan was kind of noisy, like a motor in an engine room. The ambiance of the hotel doesn’t look as good as what’s advertised. The staff was helpful.

Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Since the hotel is being remodeled there was some mess but the hotel was kept very clean. Breakfast was good except that the coffee was very bitter. Perhaps because we came down at the end of the breakfast window.

The breakfast selection was varied and kept fresh and warm. The property is undergoing a complete renovation, but the open areas were kept clean and devoid of construction debris. Some of the amenities were missing due to the ongoing renovation, but having stayed at this property in the past, I’m sure they will be replaced once renovations are completed.

The room newly renovated. There was pet hair everywhere, then the new towel holder fell, blow dryers dirty, no ice machine while renovating.

the only really small detail was the bath tub was extremely slippery, I used a towel for my wife to stand on, at 71 could have slipped very easily. just a heads up on it rest was good. Thank you Alan Provancher

We were celebrating my birthday and didn't officially get in until after midnight. Having celebrated with adult beverages, I didn't feel a good choice would be going down to complain. I decided to wait until morning to try the shower again and address it at that time. When we woke up at 0730 to shower before checking out; we discovered the water was still only cold water. I told the desk attendants at the time of check out and they simply said they would let maintenance know. They didn't ask if I wanted to shower in a different room. Didn't ask if I slept well. Didn't offer a discount or even say I hope you enjoyed your stay. Didn't even say goodbye or have a nice day as I walked away. I felt as if I was simply another dollar in their pocket.

They were refurbishing the entire hotel. Despite that, the room they gave me was very clean and comfortable.

Aside from a couple blemishes, cracks and such in the bathroom, everything was fantastic! The room was spacious and clean, the host when we checked in made me want to adopt her as my grandma (literally the sweetest!!), we were given water and cookies and check in/out was ridiculously smooth. Literally could not beat it especially for the price!!

That said, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helped whenever asked. The room was quiet, with a large desk to work at and tables downstairs as well. It was well located near things I wished to do. Everything in the room was clean and well maintained.

Place is tired, run down with long brown water stains leaking through roof. Gym did not have equipment that was in photos a pool was ice cold- kids lasted 5 min.

The staff was absolutely wonderful and went over and above! My mother was unexpectedly hospitalized during my holiday vacation and the staff did everything they could to make my stay as easy as possible. Special thanks to the front desk staff for staying in contact and their help and readiness to assist me during a bad situation.

We love a heat/AC unit with a Constant Fan feature. Much appreciated.

I was greeted by Iman, who was incredibly friendly, professional and kind. She accommodated my request to check in early without hesitation, walked me to the area where the elevator to my section was and even gave me a warm, fresh cookie. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was varied with plenty of fresh dishes and fruit. But what does more than anything for a return visit is always the people and how I am treated. Iman, the host at breakfast and the gentleman who checked me out made all of the difference.

Overall, nice staff, nice room, comfy bed, and quiet. Breakfast was healthy and tasty.

This Double Tree below standard everywhere else

This hotel is absolutely different than anything in the pictures. There is torn furniture covered by towels and is filthy and falling apart we could not stay we checked in and did not bring our bags in . We turned around and left.

First room we were in was not very good - 219 has two outside air conditioners on the pool roof making lots of noise plus the room air conditioner was not a quality product. Also the toilet flap was stuck with every flush. This room was not a typical Hilton experience. We moved to 210 and it was a much better experience- newer air conditioner and quiet.

The shower floor was literally black. The area in our "suite" where a couch should be consisted of a bench with two ratty vinyl ottomans on either end of it.

Staff was friendly. The room was clean and had basic amenities. Elevator was out of order the entire stay, we were on the 3rd floor. Hallways needs to be renovated, dated furnishing. The upper parking lot had 2 abandoned cars. The property is located in a convenient location.

When I arrived, there was no furniture in my room (outside of the bed) and the wonderful lady at the front desk told me that it was because they were renovating. I was there for a few days for work and needed a desk to work at and had to transfer rooms. The single treadmill and mike in the gym did not work, which was challenging during a heat wave. I was told that breakfast was included and then was charged for it - not work $15 per day.

We reserved a king with a pull out suite. There was no suite and they brought rollaway and had to make bed at midnight after flying across country. The AC didn't work and room was very dark. The parking was awful! It felt like a really old 2 star hotel at best.

The front desk staff member who greeted me at arrival, Iman was very friendly and exemplified what hotel hospitality should always be. She was courteous and professional. At checkout, the other female front desk person mirrored that professionalism and courteous hospitality. I stay in hotels very often and wouldn’t be wonderful if all hotel staff were like that?

Check in went great but when we got to our room we had no couch. No seating area like in the picture. We were only staying a night so I didn’t complain. It would’ve been nice to have somewhere to sit after the long day of shopping though.

Everything was wonderful, clean and not run down in any way. The only reason I can't give five stars all around is there was a small amount of trash in the parking lot in the form of bottles (I think beer bottles but I'm for sure) and a couple other things in the corner of the parking lot. But considering the cleanliness of the rest of the property I don't believe it was there for very long.

At our service and was told they didn’t clean rooms unless you stayed there for four days? I didn’t recall reading that especially the pictures in the website were not correct.

Enjoyed our stay at your hotel! The room was clean & comfy. Although, we got to your hotel a little early, was told that our room wasn’t ready yet. After waiting for about 15 minutes or so, another employee asked if we were waiting to check in, of which I said yes and told her that our room wasn’t ready. She looked it up and confirmed that yes that room wasn’t ready but said she’ll see if another room was available, of which there was. She was able to check us in, then we proceeded to get our bags and go up to our room. I didn’t think to ask the first employee of another room but glad this lady did. I didn’t catch her name but thanks to her!

People were great. Hard desk is a little hard to get ahold of. Beds were clean just some corners were definitely a bit neglected

The hotel had excellent staff who made sure we were well taken care of. The breakfast buffet is good with lots of options. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The only thing that could have been improved upon is to restock the room coffee and tea each day. Sometimes we didn’t receive any and would have to go down to the lobby to get it. Overall an excellent stay.

Kinda off the beaten path with nothing much around within walking distance food wise but we wanted quiet don’t was perfect the neighborhood was fantastic though. And it was super simple to navigate five minutes up the road to Ross and ten minutes up to Walmart and food breakfast was amazing as well. The pool was nice and refreshing and they have a grill out on the patio to cook on if you chose to do so.

Had a difficult time finding the 2nd tower and had to go ask again. Room was fine but notice the sofa was missing or something that would have taken up a large space. I noticed the shower floor was alittle dingy looking and mirror on door was cleaned with streaks left on it. But I felt I had a nice stay. The bed was comfortable and employee s were very kind.

The good: hotel is in a nice quiet location near Washington Square mall, and super convenient to the mall and freeway. Across the street is the fantastic Thirsty Lion Gastropub, which surprised the heck out of us (review elsewhere). The front desk folks were nice and efficient. The bathroom in our room was great, room temperature was great, bed was fine. The not-good: the hotel is either in the middle of a refurb or it needs some attention. Hallway walls were half painted (or half papered) on pretty much every floor. This included our room too. It doesn't look horrible, but it's noticeable. Our room had 2 TV's and one remote. The pullout sofa bed had no sheets, so I called for them (no answer) and went down to front desk. She handed me a pile of sheets and a couple towels. The sheets were for a crib (clearly didn't fit the sofa bed), but we made do. The fridge froze our water, with no way to turn it down. Breakfast was okay (again, staff very nice), but can't believe they charge $15/person. Other hotels in the area at a lower or same per-night amount include it for free. Parking was $10, and seemed excessive since there was tons of parking. Price for value, I wouldn't stay here again. YMMV.

The sheets were not cleaned at all. There was not trash bags in our room, no body shampoo, hair conditioner was empty. There was a foul odor in the room that persisted into the next day. We left a day early.

Iman was super hospitable, friendly and looked after everything even before we needed it. Went out to show me where I could park, got a luggage rack and brought it to my car, walked us over to the hallway to show us when the elevators were and was happy to do it! She really knows her customer service!! Loved it!! We will definately stay again!!

We booked at this hotel with expectations of being able to use the bar area to gather with other families we are traveling with. The bar is closed permanently and we did not know about this until arriving in having to ask because it appears in working order. The staff are very nice and very accommodating.

They had our booking confused and checked us out after our first day. They also said they wouldn't charge us for our water but they did. $4 may not be much to people but it's the fact they said they wouldn't.
