the location was close to my destination The room and the hotel was overall pretty dirty. My room was not clean, did not look like it had been vacuumed, the sheets did not appear to have been changed. The room smelled old, musty, and stinky. There was a very bright light that came straight through my window and there were no black-out curtains. It was the worst hotel I had ever stated at, it was so unfortunate.

The most jarring thing was the amount of mold inside the room. There was mold on the curtains. There was mold on old food that was left in between the mattress and boxspring. The boxspring itself was dirty and was not even vacuumed. The boxspring cover had weird stains. Everything about the room was dirty. Elevators were dirty. I work at Ecolab pest elimination who services a large amount of hotels similar to this, and I thought I could see past evidence of bedbugs. Evidence that should not even be present if they were properly cleaning their linens and furniture. Within 10 minutes of walking into the room we checked out and got a hotel at another hotel.

First of all, the directions to get there weren't clear. It was advertised as having a pool, but it wasn't in operation; the door couldn't be locked; the shampoo provided wasn't enough; and the breakfast area didn't look clean.

Started out pleasant. Couldn't find room 111 no number on it. Last night noticed rust on lamp with plug-ins to charge phone and one did not work. Stains on mattress. This morning went to take shower and water was either very cold or scalding hot no in-between. NOT to mention bugs in bathroom. Notified staff and all he had to say was we could switched rooms. I said what about next guest and he said nothing. I let him know I am reporting bugs to Health department, corporate.

My prepaid 3night Memorial Day stay was terrible. I traveled 5hours all the way from Dallas, TX. In my experience, No maintenance or housekeeping staff on duty after 3pm. They only gave 1 room key, room had a damp smell, bed sheets were dirty on check in, the phone didn't work, room had 2 TVs with 1 remote, the window leaked a lot of water while raining, water rolled into AC unit then to floor no maintenance on duty to address issue so front desk gave me rags to place on window, the shower head only had water from one side, the water didn't get hot, the tolite seat was broken, the bathroom door wouldn't close shut without force, the rude overnight front desk person knocked on my door 2 nights after midnight waking me without legitimate reason. The second room offered smelled bad and not cleaned. Front desk staff was not personable. Pool was closed. After speaking with manager/owner about issues, he stated "if he had those issues he would have checked out". The room was prepaid for 3 nights. The manager/owner didn't offer a discount or refund. It was a holiday weekend other hotels were fully booked or prices were very high because of the holiday. I suffered through the weekend I WILL NOT STAY AT THE COMFORT INN & SUITES TEXAS CITY I-45 AGAIN.

The cons greatly outweighed the pros. No hair dryer, although the holder was installed. There was no remote for the TV and we were told there was none available. They provided an iron but not an ironing board, again, we were told there were none in the hotel. there was construction material every where. The front desk was less than helpful and the owner was rude.

I dont know if this Comfort inn is under new management or not but Ive stayed here in the past and I can tell the difference. Seem like the management that is running it now is not keen on running a hotel. It being an old hotel doesnt bother me, but the upkeep and cleanliness is lacking. Stacked old furniture in the pool area, old outdated washer and dryer, very very dirty elevator, poor housekeeping, and staff lounging around without shoes on. Place has really went down from a year ago. This place use to be pretty decent.....

We went down about 8:15 and there was nothing left. We asked if anything was going to be restocked and were told no, the workers had already gone.

The property is in a great location. The renovations are shoddy. My room had rusted lamps and shower head. The lamp shades were soiled and faded. The bed was uncomfortable. The biggest problem was the mold around the window seal. It looked like black mold and smelled horrible. The plastic plates and silverware for breakfast was tacky. The cost of the room was non-refundable which is the only reason I stayed.

Showers had very little pressure. Rusted light fixtures with dirty lamp shades. Curtains were filthy along with the A/C hand construction dirt all over it. Workout room was shut down without prior knowledge. Breakfast was poor at best with no fruit and meat was still frozen. There were no vending machines for bottled water. Would not stay here again.

No one restocked breakfast items even though there were 30 minutes remaining for breakfast time.

We were not very happy with the experience of the room. It was very damp. I was afraid to go barefoot on the carpet. The bathtubs need to be resurfaced. The lobby was the only good part that we enjoyed. There was a table in our room with a coffee pot on it that had an inch of dust underneath and some trash that should’ve been removed. The lamp in the room was rusted. We will not be going back to this hotel.

They were doing construction in the room next to ours. Was woken up by banging and drilling both days. The tub was stained blackish gray. Husband had to fix the toilet to stop it from running. Water dripped on you from the bathroom fan which was broken and didnt work. The floor in the room slopped down and then back up aa you crossed the room. You felt and heard the front two sliding doors every time they opened and closed in our room. The staff was very nice just nothing like the pictures and not relaxing due to the work happening.
