Great place to stay to visit family near Bush Gardens Tampa

Breakfast Room service never went to the room for clean, or replace towels and toilet paper

It was ok, the location was nice with a few places to walk to for coffee and snacks. We stayed at this property a few years ago while a family member was at Moffit. The price was pretty reasonable. But this stay, they totally raised their prices because of the BTS concert in town the dates we were there. When I checked prices weeks before the concert, they were half the price of the rate we were charged. This isn't a great hotel at all and the accommodations were subpar at most.

Unfortunately, the property left a lot to be desired. There was an odor, almost like mold or excessive humidity, throughout the property and in my room. I didn't bring it up because it was for only one night. Would I stay here again? Probably not, unless there were no other options.

Delicious hot breakfast each morning. Variety of options. Beds were comfortable. There was a kitchenette in our room with everything needed to cook with, swimming pool, etc. Beautiful property with nearby pond. Definitely would stay again.

Also someone taped the secure entry door lock to our building so they could go in and out without using the secure key card. This is very dangerous as anyone could enter our building. This made me very upset. Also only serve breakfast until 9 AM during the week.

Based on the reviews, I expected this room to be extremely clean and well-maintained. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at all. We checked in late at night, and once we were able to fully inspect the room, we discovered numerous cleanliness and maintenance issues throughout. There was a large amount of bugs around the window seal, along the wall paneling, and across the floors. The dishes stored in the drawers were visibly unclean, which immediately raised concerns about the overall sanitation of the room. Because it was late at night and pouring rain outside, it was difficult to immediately address the situation, especially while traveling with my granddaughter. I attempted to contact the front desk once we discovered the issues, but the line continuously stayed busy. I reported everything first thing the next morning. The hotel representative I spoke with was polite and professional, but unfortunately no manager was available to assist. Due to the condition of the room, I made the decision to cancel the remainder of my stay. This created an unexpected financial strain and significant inconvenience during my trip because I had to secure alternate accommodations on short notice. The location itself was nice, but the overall condition of the property felt more like a run-down motel than a hotel. My experience did not match the standards advertised in the reviews or expected from this brand. I am currently in the process of escalating this matter further.

Great quality for price, designed for extended stays. The room was huge and equiped with all needs for long extended stays. The breakfast had an ok variety, but was tasty. It is quiet and was able to rest properly. Very close to USF campus which is convenient. Breakfast selection could be improved, adding a water station could be useful

Nowhere close to eat, paper thin walls, heard everything in next room, awful, crazy sex, thought at one point they maybe doing some sort of porn videos. Did not sleep one minute. And then it started again next morning Ugh I know you can't publish this. Worst hotel stay ever..Just a wierd location and wierd place. Plus they charged us twice still waiting on them to correct it.

A truly exceptional staff and facility. Everything a traveler would need in a home away from home. With grandkids in the Tampa area right down the road from this location we will visit again soon.

It seemed clean. Area made you feel safe. Breakfast was decent. I liked that the room had a full kitchen. The floors were slimy feeling so I had to wear sandals around the room. No one came to put new sheets or anything on the bed the entire time we were there. Walls are thin and you can hear the people next to you talking/hear their TV.

The room was ample and comfortable. The staff were helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Need pool hours posted ! The security guard made me get out of pool I didn’t even have time to dry off was standing there watching me I felt very uncomfortable! Horrible if I saw what time it closed I would have been out ! Never been to a pool that closed at 8;00 wasn’t even dark yet in all my traveling experience!! Other stuff was fantastic

Very impressed with this hotel. I actually felt I was in Canada because it was so clean smelled good and they thought of everything definitely will be back and only staying here. The staff were all very professional, pleasant and genuinely seemed happy working there.

We normally get a hotel room so getting a suite was very nice but usually out of our price range. Plus they gave us an upgrade for some reason so my wife and I stayed for one night in essentially a 2 bdrm apt. 😀 It was a nice place though.

We were supposed to have a king and ended up with a full bed. The pillows were horrendous. Would not stay here again. Good things were the breakfast but we barely slept because of the bed and pillows.

Perfect little property to come with family during a college visit or a hospital visit has the perfect kitchen small peaceful area. I was extremely happy. I will be back.

Property is well care off and clean.

Where do I begin? The property on the outside is ok. On the inside, it’s a different story. It is outdated. I get it, it is an old building. Now the room, oh boy. It was not the best but close to holly hell. The kitchen had the basic but everything was dirty. When I say dirty, they need to hire a cleaning crew with experience. Spatula still had previous food on it. Cabinets are about to fall apart and are dirty. I don’t think I will be staying there again.

Excellent quiet location and great if geographically it meets your needs but a decent drive from Tampa International airport. Having arrived from a long haul from England it was an excellent choice. Useful luggage trolley and elevator. A 10 minute loading/unloading bay near the entrance to avoid wheeling luggage across the car park when it is busy.

There was a slight order, but I feel it's because it was stuffy and just needed airing out. Everything was fine once the air got running. I'm sensitive to smells, also I think that's most hotels, when they don't air the room first

We had a pleasant stay. Next time, I'll request a 3rd floor suite as on the 2nd floor we could hear the guest above us walking around.

We always pay the extra dollar for a hotel that’s upkept and clean. But unfortunately this place felt lowkey like a section 8 apartment housing unit. And the condition of the hotel felt more like being at a budget inn or red roof inn. Like even walking through the main building there was crumbling drywall dust on the floor and that didn’t leave a great impression upon entry. As mentioned the staff was friendly and I enjoyed the breakfast provided with the stay. But the property from my experience just seems to be one in which we will likely not be returning to. In gyst you get what you paid for, because Tampa is a super expensive place to rent a hotel. But the reviews made this place seem to be much nicer than it actually was.. in the end we were still able to enjoy a majority of the stay but it felt rather compromised in some ways. Not the worst place in Tampa but definitely not the best.

Beautiful room. I had a room with 2 bedrooms and it was perfect. We came down to visit Busch Gardens and it was very close by. Tv in the bedrooms and the living area. Kitchenette was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was very nice with hot water with great water pressure. I didn’t get in the pool but it looked very well kept up. The breakfast was hot and was kept full. The coffee was delicious and the kids loved the juice offered. You won’t be disappointed by staying here. We will be back

Good breakfast, but hallways were humid and multiple drying fans were in the way combating a musty smell. The room itself was okay. Generally the lack of cleanliness in the hallways was the only problem.

The suite was very clean. Saw one small bug in the kitchen on the first day. Otherwise, very good. Bed was a tad hard. Breakfast was ok. The Wi-Fi connection worked very well.

Overall, a great value and I would stay there again. The suite was quite impressive, boasting a full kitchen (range/oven, sink w/garbage disposal, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator w/ice maker). The room was very clean, the linens were fresh, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was adequate, equipped with a shower (no tub). The bathroom cabinetry showed some wear and the caulk along the base of the shower needed to be replaced as it had mildew stains. The in-wall AC unit made the room smell a little funky, but that seems to be typical of these types of units in Florida. The stairwell carpet has seen better days and needs to be replaced. We did not use the pool, but our suite overlooked the pool area and it looked to be neat and clean. We saw other guests enjoying the pool. The complimentary breakfast was good and the attendant did a great job keeping the area clean and well stocked.

Room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed having two rooms and a sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom shower head leaked and the sliding door was broken but it didn't bother us at all.

Room was not thoroughly cleaned. When we arrived the toilet was not working properly. The fridge had old food in it from the previous guest. The walls are thin. The guest next to us we’re having intercourse that when on for an hour. We had to turn up the tv to drown out the noise. We went out of to dinner then drove 2.5 hours home afterwards. We did not stay over at this hotel.

And there was a strong chemical smell outside of our room, possibly because we were next to the mechanical room. Our stay here was okay. The bathrooms are not cleaned properly. The floor of the showers are black and there was hair from previous users on the shower wall. The extra blanket that was in the closet had a huge stain on it. But other than that, stay was decent.

The room was in good condition. Staff was nice and easy to work with. The refrigerator was not cold enough to store food. We used the freezer to keep our milk and drinks. The room main room and bedrooms were clean. The suite did have a musty smell to it though.

The front staff was superb, breakfast was great, the price was right, and the room was clean. But I have two notes. First, the bed sheets were not clean. No problem: the front desk person was apologetic and switched us to a second room immediately. Second, the smell of cleaning solvents in the room and hallways was so strong that my wife was sneezing all night and we had to wash all clothes we brought into the room, even those that we never wore, immediately on returning home to get the smell out. This is not the first time I've encountered a hotel that over-killed on cleaning solvents, but this time it was particularly notable.

The biggest headache during our two night stay was the fire alarm going off at 2am JUST after we went to sleep from being new Years eve night. The alarm went off and continued for about 5 mins ...we got dressed started to head out of the room...and the alarm stopped. We then tried to go back to sleep...then the alarm went off again and went off sporadically for the next half hour...it was an absolute NIGHTMARE....The room was nice, location was great....but the alarm issues tremendously messed up a good stay.

There is very little else for comfort or convenience in this hotel. Tiny lobby. Tiny breakfast area. Too difficult to move around the hotel in general, not because it is too small but because it is poorly laid out. It has good clean rroms but is not your traditional good hotel like a Courtyard or Townplace Suites. If it was notably less expensive than the competition then it might be a good option but at nearly the same cost this facility is a disappointment.

Breakfast was fresh but cold eggs and parking was safe. Only complaint is noise all night by next door tenets. Did get much sleep.

The room was very clean and the staff was very polite however when I first walked in to register the lady who greeted me spoke no English. That’s not good for me here in America sorry. Was awaken several times because of loud voices from outside. The breakfast was good had no problems with that. Overall we my wife and I had a great stay thank you very much.

You can hear absolutely everything. People going up and down the noisy stairs. Anyone walking on the floor above you. People walking outside your door. People talking next door, above, and below. People talking outside the door as well. Nice room though. If you have enjoy peace and quiet, you will get it when you leave.

This was just an overnight stay, the layout was good. The only issue was the AC unit started rattling during the night. They served a hot breakfast. I would recommend having a covered walkway to the additinal building considering the Florida weather

Great place to stay. Spacious with kitchen, large refrigerator 2 full bedrooms, 7 minutes drive to USF. Felt safe and was quiet.

Breakfast was good , the rooms were very clean and comfortable Netflix was a plus. The kitchen was very nice and it was close to Busch gardens. I would recommend.

The room was to dirty

Room was nice, TV remote did not work though. Hallways reeked of smoke, thankfully not in the room though. Breakfast was good.

This was a last minute booking for a college tour. Place was quiet, beds comfortable including pull out sofa and room was deliciously cold so we all slept good. Not to mention hot water was perfect. Morning breakfast was decent.

The furniture is dated. The sleep sofa needs to be replaced. Trying to sleep on it was miserable.

The facility appears to be very old. The carpets in the room and common areas are damaged and dirty. My bathroom sink faucet barely worked and when the service person came who had to keep hitting the top of the faucet to get more water to flow through it. I ended up using bottled water to brush my teeth and wash my face.

The staff are absolutely outstanding! Friendly, efficient, helpful, and supportive. I will most definitely give a 5 star review. The apartment like room was such a relief and much needed after having to evacuate my home due to hurricane Milton. I felt safe and comfortable during the stress of the unknown affects of the hurricane. Thank you to Jennifer she is an absolute angel.

We left, the bathroom was not handicapped accessible. I even called to confirm before arriving.

Hotel Staff is not at all Co-operative. Manager do not believe in reciprocation even multiple reminder. I would not recommend this hotel given my experience. I have stayed with family, with 2 young kids.

The property is very dated and not clean. The sink had a bug in it, there were 2 small blood stains on the wall, spider webs, grease stains on the cabinets, tub stained.

This place was absolutely disgusting the rooms were dirty the breakfast was horrible people outside loitering

On the first day, the burners at breakfast weren’t on for some reason, so the eggs and sausage were literally room temperature. (They were heated on the second day). The yogurt also was literally frozen the first day. It met our basic needs of a bed and a shower, but I would never actively recommend this to anyone I know.

Great place to stay and very clean. They have a great layout in the two separate bed suites ! Great location too if you have dogs you need to take out there’s tons of clean grass to walk them! Definitely stay here! Highly recommended

This place was horrible ! It was in an scary area and it was completely unkept! Our room door was broken the pool was closed ! It smelled terrible and I got a head cold from the condensation from the air condition in the room . I tried to get a refund from Expedia but instead they gave me 100 key cash which I may never use. Marriot needs to take their name off the place.

Toilet was clogged upon arrival. Picture was not on wall so there were holes in the wall, vents were disgustingly dirty, curtains had stains, sheets had stains, smell of mildew everywhere, water damage painted over all over ceiling, a table blocking a raid on door that was not a connecting door. Only positive was the kitchen was clean and nice. Couldn’t get a refund so had to spend $ to find a room at midnight somewhere else.

Room was dated and in slight disrepair (carpet was torn and coming up in places). Staff was good.

It’s dirty

Not that it's the front desks total fault, but neighbors are noisy and inconsiderate. One idiot clicked his lock button literally 30 times outside our ground level window over the course of the evening. Housekeeping has a policy to clean up your room every 3 days of your stay. We checked out on the fifth day and never saw anyone while we were there. Bottom line is I don't believe this facility is up to Marriotts standards.

After spending a long day at Busch Gardens we arrived at the hotel around 7:30pm. Upon entering the room we found used wet towels in the bath floor and an unmade bed. The manager was not helpful and told us that any complaints would need to go to Hotels.com. Hotels .com contacted the hotel but our they would not provide a refund. I suggest avoiding this hotel if you like clean places and honest people.

Food was not so great. Like bare minimum

Check in was fabulous but then it went down hill from there. First day at breakfast, we asked about syrup for waffles and got our head bit off. I noted the food trucks showed up that day so maybe delayed due to Christmas. Breakfast seemed better stocked the next day but attendant still had an attitude. Hall and entrance to our building smelled strongly of marijuana. Turned off lights to go to sleep Friday night, neighbors started singing Happy birthday at 10pm, lots of stories about run ins with law regarding drug use, inebriated. Called from phone in room and via cell phone to front desk several times but no one answered. Neighbors upstairs stomped repeatedly until bed time at which point they had rather loud intimate relations. Trash cans overflowing on property and while I understand limited maid service, our room was never serviced in 5 days.

Properly our room was dirty and with bugs

I like having the suite with Kitchen when I’m in town for several days. The place is a bit dated—no USB ports, etc, and the breakfast is just ok. But overall, a decent place at a decent price.

This place was very rundown, unattended, and smelled like marijuana. I was totally dissatisfied with the hotel and the fact that I had to make changes at 12 o’clock at night. I had to drive around with my family to look for an appropriate hotel, since I could not depend on Expedia anymore totally dissatisfied with the service totally dissatisfied with the hotel.

I didn't like the breakfast being at a minimum of choices. Not enough to choose from than the year 2021 when I stayed before. Breakfast not served in time. No one for house cleaning available for trash pickup.

The property is ok. A bit far from where things are happening if that is what you are there for. Close to Busch Gardens though.

The only thing I didn’t like is one of the entrance doors into the building to where our room was, it was broken. So we had to walk all the way down to the other door to enter the building and walk all the way down to the other end to get to our room..

The good is economical place to stay for Moffitt Hospital appointments. Location is quiet. Our 2 suites were functional, and with a full kitchen could again be economical for a longer term stay for those opting to buy groceries, cook, and eat in. The bad - cleanliness is below par and was covered up with strongly scented camouflage. Furniture stinks and needs to be replaced. Breakfast included was not edible or safe. (Pre-packaged plastic quiches and other options sitting in warming chafers was appalling.) We wouldn't even consider eating or drinking anything there. Was certainly not pool weather, but, pool should still be maintained. It was not. With 40 years of experience with Marriott, a little surprised Marriott still allows their name on it.

Room smelled bad very musty and moldy. Carpet was very sticky and dirty. Pool was closed and has been for months.

The staff, the room, and the breakfast were all wonderful. Roomy comfy and clean. However the pool is currently (and has been for months) closed and green. Also the theme park shuttle advertised prior to booking does not exist. Though I was disappointed about these 2 things (mainly the shuttle service bc busch gardens and adventure island charge $30 parking) my overall experience with the room and service overall remains highly satisfactory.

The staff here was very nice and the area was quiet. The room seemed clean overall. The biggest issue is the property overall seems to have been neglected. The first thing you see when you pull up is a dark green pool full of algae. Additionally there was tape over the outside doors so they wouldn’t lock. There were stains on the curtains and the walls, the floor in the bathroom was warped from water damage, and the air conditioner smelled like mold when it turned on. There was still hair in the shower and one of the doors from the sink vanity had been broken off and stashed under the sink. This place needs a little attention. It wasn’t an awful stay by any means and the people were very nice.

I would have liked to have closer grocery shopping and a pool.

We had a pleasant stay. The only thing that was disappointing was the pool was GREEN and not swimmable. Location was great a couple of minutes away from Busch Gardens and Adventure Island.

The property is in need of repair. The phones in my room couldn't work although they tried to fix them. The carpet throughout needs changing as it's old and smelly. There also needs to be proper breakfast and not bagged mixrowave food. Could also do with a paint job in the rooms.

Room needs updating. It was clean, but drawers don’t shut properly, outlets are loose, carpet pulls, general wear and tear, but on the moderate to severe side.

The hotel is surrounded by nature so there are things to look at if you want to take a walk.

The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

Only possible improvement may be breakfast choices were almost gone by 7:40am. We have been here around 7 times in the last 3 or 4 years, and this is the first time that breakfast was an issue. Mostly the place us like home when we come for moffitt checkups.

It was Safe and Quiet!

The only good part was the people at the front desk; surprisingly nice. The whole place smelled. The carpet was dirty and grungy looking. We had multiple hairs in our room, a piece of the fridge was broken. A bug was inside the fridge. The ice maker was overfilled and dirty. There were hairs and dirt in the shower and the toilet was dirty. Walls were also paper thin so we could hear everything that was going next door. Wouldn’t recommend on any level.
