Had a courtyard view King room, very clean and well maintained. The rooftop pool was amazing. The staff was excellent.

My room could have used a new mattress, however. There was a divot across the entire head of the bed that eventually led to discomfort sleeping. Staff was friendly and helpful for requests and questions. Parking was a bit odd, but once you understood where you can park it wasn't bad. I had a wedding function to go to the first night and a wedding the second day. On the first day, I parked under a tree lined area for some shade, and in the 2 hours I was parked, a bird completely bombed my passenger side door to the point that I had to go for a last minute car wash. Not the hotel's fault, but lesson learned. We enjoyed Harry's Place for a drink on a few nights. The apple chimichanga dessert was amazing. Cocktails were a bit inconsistent, but it was different bartenders.

This is my most favorite place to stay.

The pool man was fantastic

Staff was wonderful, amenities were beautiful, close to airport, the rooftop pool was great-server came around with ice waiters which made you feel catered to. Would definitely recommend this stay again

This hotel is by far the best hotel in Arizona. I have been to Scottsdale 3 times different hotels; Phoenix, Tucson and Airbnb in Phoenix and Scottsdale. All of them are on the scale 1–5. They were 3 only one hotel in Scottsdale was a 4, but Tempe Mission hotel is all around the best hotel. Congratulations, you know how to treat your guests.

Wonderful trip. The staff were very polite & helpful. Only hiccups were- waiting for the shuttle which takes 10-20 minutes but mine was an hour. And the A/C made a lot of banging noises. Would I come again, yes!

Property is well kept and really pretty. Rooms are quiet and Location of the hotel is unbeatable if you have a student at ASU. We were able to walk everywhere and parking was really really easy.

Property has a fabulous location and wonderful amenities. I rated 4 stars overall as both rooms that we booked had furniture that was damaged and noticeable. The bed frames had torn corners and chipped dressers. One room had a bolt that was broken. We also had several issues with the dinning. I would absolutely stay again as it is my choice in Tempe. Overall the staff is incredibly helpful especially Evan at the desk! Absolutely fantastic!

Staff is so nice and helpful! Fresh fruit for breakfast was amazing! The pool is shallow, but so nice and was never crowded! We were there right before ASU graduation, so downtown was a little loud. There is a train that goes by all night long. Great spot, tho! Next time I will take a noise maker to sleep better

Room not ready at check in. I had my daughter on crutches and asked for a room near elevator. After more than two hours (5 PM) waiting for a room, we were given a room across the large courtyard, 3rd floor and down two corridors……..NOT close to an elevator. The disabled parking was always taken. Otherwise staff was very courteous and helpful. The manager took off the resort fee since we left very early in the morning which was nice of her.

The hotel is beautiful and conveniently located to anything you could possibly need or want to do. I was very disappointed when I checked in and was unable to get the room I reserved (two beds) and was told it was because I booked with a third party and therefor my room choice was not guaranteed and given away. This was especially disappointing because I had to pay extra to reserve a room with two beds. I was offered a rollaway bed as a substitute which we accepted only to get a note under our door later that evening stating they didn’t have any more available.

Loved it here! The bed n pillows, my lil balcony ‘door’, my view of the courtyard, listening to the water from the fountain, the nearby stores, and the breakfast buffet at the hotel!

The property is dated and it shows. If staff were friendlier, we might overlook the issues, but they are checked out and quite unfriendly. The next night we stayed at the Hyatt SFO, and it was soooo much better. I'd skip this one.

No hot water! After a day of hiking, we arrived at the hotel around 6:30 to discover before bedtime, there was not a lick of hot water. We were told there were no maintenance issues, and that the water was taking a little longer to heat up. At 9:30, after still no hot water, they attempted to move us to another room, but there was no room with hot water available. We were told the water would be hot by the morning; it wasn’t. Scheduled to leave on an early flight, we couldn’t even wash our faces with warm water. 10 hours on a flight without a shower for over 24h!!! Basic amenity not provided by this hotel and they offered nothing but to waive the resort fee. STAY AWAY!

The location was great for access to the event I was attending. The gardens in the center of the hotel are a nice respite. The customer service is lacking. So little information offered and not good responses when you ask for help. I’ve stayed at two star properties with more attentiveness like coffee and water in the lobby and helping you with parking and getting around the property.

This hotel is located in downtown Tempe, Everything was in walking distance. I was here for Innings Festival.

The atmosphere of the hotel was excellent, pool was top notch and room was extremely comfortable. It was one of the nicest kept properties I’ve stayed at in a while and the price was comparable to other (less desirable hotels). I was super impressed.

The location was perfect for our needs, and central to so many eating and entertainment options. Staff was so friendly and accomodating, we were greeted everywhere and remembered. The atmosphere was so peaceful and serene at all times. All around amazing.

The valet team was excellent. The property is gorgeous and clean. While there was maintenance happening it was well managed.

We did a stay vacation with our grandchildren. We wanted to get out of the heat and swim. We were willing to pay a little more to spoil ourselves. However, when we reached the hotel it was under some construction on the property involving the parking lot and areas on the way to the pool, impacting the elevators. Also, when we went into our room we didn't realize the booking was for 2 standard beds instead of queen beds, and at the front desk we could not upgrade to queen beds as the property only had standard or king beds. We were very surprised as we have never encountered that at any other property before. We were informed that the property mainly caters to business travel. We live very close to ASU in Tempe, and there are so many hotel options now fairly new, so The Mission Palms being an older resort, but still what I would consider higher prices was a little surprising. With all that being said, although I had inquired to upgrade our room for queen beds and was considering whether or not to stay, the front desk staff to my surprise and appreciation upgraded us to a much larger room with a king and what she described as a very comfortable sofa bed for our grandchildren. When we went inside we all felt and said, now we're talking. It felt more inclined to what we paid! Still not 2 beds, but it felt extremely spacious and more upgraded. I was very grateful! We see stayed linger and oaud a fee to check out later to be able to swim more. To be honest, it was the exceptionally friendly staff throughout our entire stay that absolutely made our visit wonderful! The bellmen, the front desk a.m. and p.m., and the staff in the pub that we walked in and ordered food from to take to our room! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the property. While we waited they encouraged us and showed us how we could walk around the property courtyard which was beautiful at night until our food was prepared. They were even very nice to our small grandchildren. Construction on property and the standard sized beds no option for queens for 2 larger beds vs a king sized. The elevator issues on the way to the pool.

Our mornings were unforgettable thanks to the amazing breakfast this hotel offers. The variety of options is outstanding, including a fresh, make-your-own omelet and waffle station, delicious fruits, and many other great food choices. Definitely get the breakfast package—it’s totally worth it! The breakfast server, Medfigue, was a wonderful surprise and a highlight of our trip. She was professional, friendly, and always ready to help. Being greeted and served by her every morning was a perfect way to start our vacation days. Thank you, Medfigue, for your excellent service. Another favorite part of our stay was the pool and hot tub. The pool view is beautiful, and there’s even a scenic hiking trail right next to the hotel—an unbeatable location. The staff where all very friendly and I could tell they wanted to be helpful and do their job well. I loved the deal I found that got me a decent room at a great price! Marketing could use some inspiration. I used Booking.com which got me a great deal however it was a bit inconvenient on the customer side because what I paid for did not sink up with what we got until after we left. (Sad for all parties) Also, Google led me first to a back parking lot that felt unsafe. I would have loved if Google had better direction to get me to the front entrance! Oh, possibly training staff how to see said marketing deals ?

I booked this hotel to attend a graduation nearby. Since the trip was short, I thought I would get a little nicer hotel and have a little getaway for myself. I decided to get a courtyard view room to have a nice view. First, I have to say that the hotel is older and it showed in my room. To turn on the shower head, I really had to fight with the faucet. The top door latch also wouldn’t secure. Then, a group booked an event in the courtyard the night that I was there, it was a really loud event. The event lasted longer than their allotted time and you could hear it all in the room. The front desk customer service when I checked out was very poor and rather rude. I travel a decent amount for work and personal, and have stayed in a lot nicer hotels for cheaper. I likely would choose a different option if I travel to Phoenix again.

I wish the reviews had mentioned how absolutely LOUD it is from some of the rooms. We could hear the loud noise from the street until well after midnight. Also, I don't think the thermostat worked well, as our room never really got very cold.

Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant food was good, all staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice property. Clean, smells good, great location. The store shop could be a little more robust, but that's the only thing I can think of. Pretty limited.

I liked breakfast was you could have omelets specially made. The buffet was also good. The construction that wasn't advertised, we had to move rooms because the construction started 5:00am.

Overall a decent stay but seems over priced for the quality of the room. Was clean but appeared to need some deeper cleaning and maybe new paint. Restaurant options are nice and the courtyard is lovely.

Overall a decent stay but seems over priced for the quality of the room. Was clean but appeared to need some deeper cleaning and maybe new paint. Restaurant options are nice and the courtyard is lovely.

Hate to ding this place - it was nice and comfortable BUT this hotel is right next to night club central. Not their fault but be aware. The bass from the nearest club was clear as day until 2am every night. Other than that, great place, staff, location.

The property was beautiful and pool area was very nice. Staff was very nice and helpful. The free valet was cool. It didn’t seem very secure down in the court yard. The main gate was open and their were some sketchy guys walking around trying to talk to me. The tv was very old, no Netflix or internet access. In room dining was ok.

We only stayed one night but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooftop pool walk down to the lake. It was very cool. Definitely do it again.

The pool security was constantly checking us out like if we were doing something wrong when we were just sitting enjoying the weather. Overall hotel staff was friendly.

Convenience to downtown Room was very nice and very clean Breakfast buffet was excellent The cocktail hours in Harry’s too limited. We were part of a reunion held at hotel and bar closes at 10:30 or 11 on weekends. Needs to stay open til midnight. Pool hours are limited as well

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times. It's always nice, quiet, clean, and laid-back. Evan at the front desk was very helpful, and wonderful.

This hotel was amazing and perfect for ASU graduation as it is right on campus (Tempe). My only two "complaints" were that the hotel room was very humid and warm, despite putting the air conditioning on 68 and the hotel entrance had a heavy smell of sulfur. Other than those two drawbacks, the staff was excellent, hotel was beautiful and clean, and the overall experience was fantastic.

Pool and hot tub really nice

On a two week vacation throughout the "Four Corner" states, this was definitely among the top of all the hotels we stayed in. The courtyard was so lovely and a surprise to find. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff throughout the hotel was terrific.

I didn't like the extra housekeeping charged they added to our bill and taxed it. We didn't ask for housekeeping. It kinda felt like a bait and switch.

This place was great, my only complaint was minimal parking. valet takes up all the close parking and I don’t recall seeing many handicap options

The property is absolutely beautiful—well-maintained, peaceful, and full of charm. One of the things I appreciated most was the variety of outdoor spaces. There are several lovely areas where you can relax and enjoy some fresh air, whether you're looking for a quiet spot to read or just take in the surroundings

I just have to add that the waiting staff at the restaurant were awesome and overall good experience.

I would appreciate for room service to be opened until 2am.

Excellent guest services! Convenient location with various selection of restaurants and bars. Including a piano bar in a walking distance 👍. Walking distance to ASU and a hiking trail 👍 Generally, a very nice hotel with a nice courtyard to seat and enjoy a meal or drink or two 👍

Only drawback is the parking situation along the sides or back of the hotel. Not too many spaces if you arrive late.

Absolutely beautiful stay, the courtyard orange trees were in bloom and filled the entire courtyard with wonderful scents of the season. Valet was complimentary which is an amazing amenity that was unexpected. Carry cash, those guys work hard for tips! The valet brought our bags to the room, once again an amazing addition to start off your stay, especially after a 7 hour drive. Hotel was well cared for and claen. Will stay again soon

Beautiful! The hotel feels like a luxurious sanctuary. Stunning courtyard, elegant lobby, photo-worthy pool and terrace. We made good use of the fitness facility. Great breakfast, and we were quite delighted with the superb food quality at Harvey’s restaurant. Exciting walkable neighbourhood teeming with restaurants and vibrant entertainment; nearby university campus is quite pretty as well. We particularly appreciated the front arranging a later checkout after our flight home was delayed by several hours. This hotel also offers complimentary shuttle service to and from SkyHarbor airport. Looking forward to a return visit!

As experienced travelers within the US and Europe-most recently to the UK, we had never heard of “destination charges destination taxes” during any of our stays. These charges should have been disclosed in the room prices so that we could have accurately compared rooms with other hotels. Additionally, why were these charges not included in the original booking total but instead were added for each day of our stay? The staff, lobby and courtyard were great; however, our room furniture and carpets were worn out, shabby, and in need of repair or possible replacement. We will not be considering a future stay at this hotel.

I always try to stay here when I'm in Tempe. It is so conveniently located and has great rooms and amenities. The parking can be a little crazy, BUT, there is a police station next door and makes the parking situation more comfortable.

The property was great in all I mean we loved it. It’s just at the time of our stay the elevator on our side of the build wasn’t working and being maintenanced.

Needs an update but great location. Fitness Centre needs a update. Pool and Courtyard are great areas.

The rooms were clean and tidy however, you hear the club/bar music pretty much until 2 AM. Not very restful sleep. The music woke me up a few times at night.

Beautigul property with the perfect location. Staff was helpful and friendly. Room details said there would be a video game console but I didnt see one and the Live TV had no signal but there was so much to do it didnt dampen the trip at all.

It was quiet despite the air traffic. The courtyard was beautiful and made our view wonderful. The sheets and bed were Devine. On the downside someone was smoking while in the hot tub so we didn’t bother using the pool. The room furnishings look very used.

The property is nice. Slightly dated. Elevators could use new carpet. Staff is great.

Elevator was out of service that made for a longer walk than what would have been needed had it been working. Repairs started very early in the morning where it woke my family up before 7 am

Beautiful hotel with great onsite amenities and amazing location. Stayed here to attend a festival nearby. It was so convenient I could return to my room whenever I didn't want to deal with the port-o-potties. Also surrounding by multiple bars and restaurants, with more nearby. Nice college downtown area.

Almost everything was great- the staff was incredible, the room was very nice and well appointed. The only downside was the parking- we were told there was parking, but find out that the lot is shared with paid parking and it was a busy event weekend. Then we were told the valet was free, “but we work on tips”. So free, but definitely felt obligated to tip. We would have anyway, and we did, but is it free or does it come with a side of guilt?

Our room type was changed without any sort of explanation. Should have received a room with a king bed and we were given a room with 2 double beds. There was never a supervisor or manager available when we checked in or the next day ( Afternoon ). Front desk said that’s all they had available so basically tough luck. Had to retrieve an item from my vehicle so asked security for the valet, they were no where to be found. Security was rude and made me feel like I was an inconvenience for asking for someone to help with my keys. Facility is older but clean. Will stay elsewhere next trip to Tempe.

This is a very nice, high-end hotel in a great location. Everything is done well - it's attractive, convenient, well-furnished, etc. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy. Walk out the door to ASU campus, the heart of downtown, an LRT station or a hike up Hayden Butte. Parking on site incl. in room. All of this is reflected in the price, which is 2-3x what you'd pay for a premium room in Madrid, Paris or London. And it's classic Arizona - leaf blowers roaring all morning, loud guys in golf clothes, etc. Staying here is a good experience.

Our stay was. I’ve with the exception we did not have our room cleaned, we called the front desk and were told sometimes the cleaning staff skips rooms. We asked for additional coffee and towels, we tipped the guy that brought them to our room he did not even say thank you. I think some additional training is needed, we paid $700 for two nights, the service could use some polishing.

I would stay at this hotel again definitely because it is walkable to many restaurants / bars / shopping. The courtyard is very pretty and breakfast was delicious. Front desk staff were polite and helpful. My only con would be paying for parking & the rooms could use a little upgrading. But besides that, why not ?! Just book it !!

Our room was nice, breakfast at the hotel restaurant was very good and the location is excellent for walking to shops and restaurants or going to the park with lake and walking paths. But, the hotel was full of noisy high school basketball players so didnt get much peace and quiet.

I’ve stayed here a few separate times. Consistently meets my standards. Clean and quiet. That said, it is adjacent to the ASU campus, and I’ve not stayed here during warmer seasons or on football weekends. From what I see I trust your stay would still be great.

It’s was somewhat loud at night due to neighboring bars and clubs. The hotel it’s leg was great!

So many places to sit and enjoy the beautiful property and the pool area is very spacious and enjoyable. We loved our stay.

Wonderful/beautiful courtyard. Nice pool area. Comfortable beds and excellent all you can eat breakfast (not free) but worth it. Right next to ASU campus with lots of local shops and restaurants.

Our stay was ok. We had a big group (14) and even though I booked the rooms together we were scattered all over different floors and corners. Check in was pretty smooth but the rooms were supposed to be ready at 4 and I didn't have my room ready until 5pm. Parking big van was not for the weak. Sitting areas in the courtyard were nice but the second day when having our own dinner we were told we can't eat our own food in the common areas. Seriously? On one side of the hotel is a bar and if you are the lucky one to get a room on that side, good luck! There is no complimentary breakfast. The service though was really good, if you need extra towels or a microwave they are on it and by your door in no time. Rooms were clean and smelled good. Pool was really nice with warm water in December that is a win. Gym is ok but is filled with a lot of cardio machine that are not necessary. Most people would prefer space to work with weights. Once you figure out how the hotel is situated is ok but until then you will for sure get your daily steps! Overall a good stay.
