Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix Tempe

Room 334 had a body odor. And, because the window was built with no access to open it, just one large window, I was unable to open to get fresh air. I should have asked for a different room as the smell became stronger. I believe it became stronger because when I entered the room was frigid. I changed it from a 60 degree temperature to around 76. By that time I had unpacked and settled in. Whew! Don’t stay in room 334.

Conveniently located and great sevice

Clean room, good breakfast , easy parking and good location

1.) The caulking around our tub / shower was molded. They offered to come in and fix it but I told them no cause just sealing over the problem won’t fix it. The old moldy caulk needs to be removed, new caulk put in place then it needs to cure. We had four more days of showering! They never offered to accommodate us with a better room. 2.) The tub was actually dirty, it had areas that had a ring of dirt on it. 3.) It was extremely noisy at night, people banging things & stomping around. When we called the front desk they said the people above us just checked in. That was understandable but the screaming kids we heard down the hallway was a bit much. 4.) All the outlets are a safety hazard. None of our chargers would stay plugged into the outlets. And I can’t remember which outlet it was but one of them actually doesn’t even connect or give a charge. I literally had to take the cushion off the chair to prop up against my charger so it would stay plugged in. 5.) When I went to the front desk just to tell them that there was animal poop just as you enter the gate to get into the pool area… the front desk lady just replied with a blank stare. She finally did say ok but that was it. I was wondering if she even knew what I was talking about. Considering all these issues we had, I rated you higher than I normally would only because the majority of the staff was very pleasant.

Property was easy to get too. A lot of coffee shops, fast food, freeways and shopping close by. The desk lamp in the room had a short. We notified the front desk, they said they would send maintenance to our room but never did. Housekeeping only cleans the rooms every other day. I was only there two nights so I never got housekeeping. Sunday morning (check out ) day there was construction right outside my room that started at 6:30am. Needless to say we checked out and left earlier than planned.

Location and refrigerator is key.

Good location for events we attended. Good customer service. Comfortable. Sufficient parking. The cleaner fragrance is bad, particularly in the enclosed elevator space! The hotel is clean but smells acrid.

Stayed here before with a better experience thinking it would be equal to or possibly better. Requested to stay away from the elevators anticipating a quiet stay. First night was rudely awakened by a loud banging noise that shook the walls - room was on the first floor by the exterior side entrance. Called the front desk, she stated she didn’t hear anything, I said I didn’t feel safe and I was told I could call Tempe PD; I asked for a room change but they were fully booked. I was encouraged to request the change for the following night, and that she would ‘put it in the computer’. No more incidents I finally fell asleep at 230am. Later in the day I called about the room change and again they were fully booked; 2pm in the afternoon our room still wasn’t serviced. We were told by housekeeping our room wasn’t on the list. We stayed two nights. The guy at the front desk said housekeeping was still on site and they would get to our room. Having returned at 10pm still not serviced. Again I was told he would ‘put it in the computer’. I asked for clean towels and returned to my room. For this to be a #Hilton property it was disappointing. The trash cans outside were full, the pool area not maintained, the bedding smelled of mildew and the personalities by the front desk seemed to be inattentive and unbothered. If you are indecisive about Hilton properties make this your last choice.

The pool and fitness area were good, and the breakfast was mediocre but fine. The market was well priced too. The best part was the location near the airport, downtown, etc. Everything was definitely run-down and used. The room was beat up and a bit dirty. The lobby area would be great if it weren't for the chairs (once again, beat up). This place was disappointing in terms of the condition of the lobby, room, and other parts of the hotel.

The property is dated. The furniture is weathered, visibly scratched and worn. I stayed on the 3rd floor, the headboards showed faint stains. You are not able to link you Netflix account for movie viewing and when I asked for more blankets I was told they dont deliver to rooms, I needed to come down to the front desk to retrieve them. I am one of those patrons who expects more, so I will never return to this property.

The stay was great and wonderful service by the front desk with allowing us to check in earlier than expected. The lobby was beautiful and the breakfast area was very nice. The room size was spacious, but a tad outdated plus the cabinet doors around the fridge door would not stay closed. The breakfast had a nice variety and tasted very good, but the hot food was barely warm. The property was in a good location and easy to get around to other places when ordering ride shares.

The hotel appears older with worn furniture in public areas but the room we had was adequate with the exception of carpet stains, a broken coffee maker & lack of daily housekeeping.

The room was clean. The staff sent a text message right away checking if we had everything we needed. I appreciate that they were so quick to check in. Staff was friendly and helpful. Honestly, there wasn't much to say what we didn't like. If I had to, I would say the water pressure from the bathroom sink was a little weak.

I’ve always liked that you know what you’ll be getting at a Hampton Inn. This one, looked similar, but was different. At breakfast, only about half the items were set out, and the coffee was empty. When I asked if they could bring more, the guy gave said “No, they set those out first.” Another lady asked the same, he gave a similar answer, and she asked him specifically to go bring more. The other worker brought out more items, and seemed upset with his laziness. We ate elsewhere the second morning. Overall, lacking.

Room was pretty clean and parking was easy with lots of space. My ac unit in the room was very noisy and was disruptive when sleeping, room got super warm if it was off though. My hair dryer was sticky and that's my only other complaint.

The hotel was quite dated, and the room was not as clean as it could be. Also, the communal area near the lobby and breakfast room had a lot of mosquitos. Overall, good value , only ten minutes to the airport and Scottsdale but needs a little love and investment

Hotel room looks dated. Some staff were helpfully other's were not. Was not told that house keeping was only every other day when i booked in heard this when i was waiting at reception and another person was checking in. Did not get house keeping on the day it was due and had to ask house keeping staff to clean my room. But rubbish was not emptied. There is just one s sliding door for the bathroom and the wardrobe was i found annoying. + the cupboard door to the fridge would not close. Drawers for your clothes are open baskets so if you dont use packing cubes smaller items of clothes & items fall through. Old style A/C which was noisy and smelly. Would not recommend or be staying there again.

The parking lot is not safe after dark. The bathroom sink did not drain, I had to take it out for it to drain and it was gross. The shower pipe was gross that was in the wall. The curtains were dirty. The room smelled weird. There was no microwave or hair dryer or hand soap. There was construction at night and you can hear your neighbors pretty clearly.

It was convenient. Customer service could improve. The front desk person was overwhelmed.

This is a beautiful hotel with friendly accommodating staff.

Half of the staff was friendly, but the other half seemed completely disinterested in helping in any way, or just simply put off for being disturbed by asking questions like "may I have a towel since room service didn't show up?" The breakfast was good, but unlike every other Hampton Inn, there were no complimentary water bottles or cookies available at the front desk. I normally never take either, but it was interesting to see a deviation of a friendly offering that was missing. I'll likely not return here for my next business trip

The close proximity to the PHX airport was the main draw to this hotel for me. However, the incessant and overwhelming noise of the room’s AC machine rattling was akin to driving down the high way at 90mph with the back windows down. The noise kept me up all night and entirely defeated the purpose of staying close by to the airport to capitalize on all of the sleep I could get on a business trip.

All in all good trip. I was in room 314, the only complaint was what ever remodeling was going on on the 4th floor was right above my room. So alot of noise. Sledge hammer, power tools, etc. Very noisy during the day.

Everything was amazing! Was here for a work trip and traveled alone and felt very safe the property was very quiet, clean and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast wasn't that great but it was a variety of selections which was nice!

This stay was embarrassingly bad. Front desk/ manager Lena is terribly over worked. Hotel is dirty and desperately in need of repair or to be torn down. Spa was conveniently closed for repairs. When requested two rooms moderately close to each other since we were traveling with another family the manager put us on to separate floors and insisted the entire hotel was sold out until August. A quick check online show this was not true at all and in fact there were multiple rooms available for that same night as well as the next.

This was a nice hotel to stay at. The rooms and common areas were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It is centrally located so it was easy to get to Scottsdale and ASU and the freeway.

When we were checking in there was no availability of King room which we paid for. But the hotel quickly upgraded us to a King bed suite.

Everything was great EXCEPT the WATER was DISGUSTING. It smelled and tasted like mold. My husband and I were seriously scared to even brush our teeth with it. Thus, we brushed our teeth with bottled water and did not shower. Husband tested water in shower, it was the same as water from sink. Very disturbing.

Front desk staff sent me a text asking how my stay was going and I shared with them that the mattress in my room was completely worn out and hurting my back. The front desk staff said they had passed on feedvack to their manager and maintenance and I never heard from anyone. There was no offer to change my room or to flip the mattress or do anything. This is not what I have ever experienced at a Hampton Inn. Consider a change in management at this location.

The room needs to be updated and thoroughly cleaned and refreshened. For a Hampton Inn, I was very disappointed. It was a completely different experience than the one I stayed in North Phoenix/Happy Valley. The outlets by the bed didn’t work. The USB on the nightstand didn’t work. The heater/fan made an awful noise. I was put in a room right by the main road & too tired to ask for another. There was a major stain on the wall behind the toilet. Like another reviewer wrote, this may as well have been a Motel 6. And the other reviewer’s report of the outlets clearly hasn’t been addressed.

Not the safest surrounding area

We left our room at 9:30 or so to take some stuff to the car and have breakfast. When we came back to the room at 10am, we found the housekeeper had entered the room, emptied our personal items out of the refrigerator and taken our cooler. When the housekeeper saw us return to the room, he did return the cooler at least, but our snacks and drinks for the drive home were gone. We had NOT checked out and still had our keys. This was our first stay at a Hampton and probably our last. Might as well stay at a Motel 6.

Great staff

Everything at the hotel was great, except they seemed understaffed at breakfast time. There was only one person to restock the food items and keep the area clean. You could tell she was overloaded. This lead to guests waiting for items to be restocked. That made the breakfast area very congested.

I had a suite, nice room. Comfortable conditions. I love the layout of the space. The microwave is around the corner which does jot interfere when you are on a call. Exception staff, they go above and beyond! Worth every dime.

Rooms are very dated. Old fixtures and just cheap quality. Carpet was filthy… asked housekeeper to vacuum as food from previous guests still apparent. My socks got very dirty just walking across carpet. Curtain torn and hanging. Breakfast was very good and variety of choices. The front desk staff were excellent but overall not a $200 per night value.

We have two little yorkies and the staff was great. The breakfast im the morning was excellent and had lots of variation. Rooms were clean. Mahalo for providing a wonderful experience.

This property was perfect for getting to Ironman AZ events. It is close to dining options and very easy to park. The hot tub wasn't working which was a little bummer but overall a great place to stay.

Breakfast was boring. No variation from one day to another. Same menu as 20 years ago! Also, limited choice for vegetarian options. Breakfast needs improvement. Look around at what other hotels are serving and spruce it up!

Door jamb is dented and chipped, toilet seat is broken, carpet has snags, floors have debris, pillows stink, unable to watch tv due to bed placement.

It was nice quiet secure the staff was totally awesome very comfortable settings quiet I got the last booking so I got the handicap room which is unbelievably large and very nice it was just me so it was suitable and quiet. Then I went to extend my stay and the room had been booked I did not know this I am in the process of moving and I needed a place to stay until my property was ready and now I have an hour and a half to find a place to go until my rental home is ready didn't know this so here we go but other than that I love the place until this came about wish they would have gave me a heads up.

Tried to see if any rooms were available for an earlier check in. The staff seemed annoyed and bothered that I would even ask. It’s ok if they weren’t, it’s how you choose to communicate it. The carpets are dirty and need cleaning. No room to eat at a table during breakfast so I sat at the patio outside but got locked out - no way to get back inside without it k coming on the door and hoping someone will open the door. No signage indicating this so o has to prop the door open with the trash can so I go back inside to get more coffee. The beds were uncomfortable

Staff rules. Lena is the best. But ..I saw several homeless individuals looking in cars and running around the property,even using the bathroom at the pool area. Look, I love the staff, but I was worried all night about my vehicle. They even lock the doors last 10pm. Wisely done if u ask me.

When staying at this Hampton Inn please check area around your bed. Unfortunately my family and i found this out as we were packing to come home. Found a used maxi pad under the ruffle they use around the bed. I will never stay at another Hampton Inn.

Staff was very nice. Saw a rat out back of the hotel which is out of their control but was still disgusting. Almost had an encounter with a strange man but was able to get into hotel quickly with my key and he was not. There was a police presence a couple of times (just driving by) which gave me peace of mind.

The area is definitely not super safe feeling. The rooms were big and clean staff was very nice. Property was a little out of the nicer area but close to a lot of things. Breakfast says till 10 but at 9:15 it was mostly gone and cold, said they werent making more which was disappointing.
