Good location and we felt very safe. The bed had to be one of the most comfortable hotel room beds we'd ever slept in. The breakfast was pretty good. They didn’t clean my room during my stay. I called housekeeping when I got back and they brought me some towels. There was no explanation why they didn’t clean the room.

It was great! We booked to watch a concert in the area. Hotel was clean but the only downside was that the elevator was not working. We had to take the stairs up to our room. Everything else was fine, breakfast was great.

I was very pleasantly surprised. Room was spotless, all staff was responsive and friendly, breakfast was complete and hot. Had one problem with a TV and they promptly replaced it with a new one right out of the box. Location was perfect for our needs.

First of all, was not mentally prepared to pay for parking so be aware of that. It was only $8 for the one night but also...yikes? It's an older property. The elevator was a little shaky but has apparently been renovated recently and is ecofriendly so that's neat. Air conditioner worked like a dream, the beds were surprisingly comfy, and the bathroom was actually super cute with a walk in shower. Pretty clean, not overwhelming but no bugs or hairs and that's all I really need. The breakfast was top tier. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, some cereal and yogurt options, multiple beverage choices. Excellent! I'd only say maybe have an egg option without the cheese but even our lactose intolerant friends managed. Also plenty of grocery and gas options if needed nearby. Overall, a great stay.

For the cost of the rooms at this hotel, it is ridiculous. The outside of the hotel is a stark contrast to what the actual rooms are. It is clearly a face lift. Inside was old, smelly and damp. The TV remote never worked properly because it was so old. The neighborhood was run down and sketchy. As a woman staying here alone, I felt unsafe after dark and did not venture out. I would never stay here again.

The Inn was very clean and next to a few little restaurants within walking distance as well as a small convenience store. Walls were very thin. Our next door neighbor’s came in around 11 and had small children. It felt like they were in our room with us - just talking in regular voices.

Elevator didn’t work and they put us on the 4th floor. Funny smell in room and by reception area. The air in rooms don’t work good enough to keep the room from feeling moist. Pillows were small and went flat. Coffee machine was also broken. The only good thing about this hotel is it was clean. We stayed here last year and it was good. I don’t know what happened but unfortunately we won’t return.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast could be improved- eggs cold, bacon cold, bananas had some age. Gravy was nice and hot and coffee was GREAT!

The room and property were clean. Staff were welcoming and kind. We stayed for 3 nights and had no complaints about our time there. The surrounding area does look a little sketchy but we didn't have any bad experiences. Just in the interest of planning, the walls are thin. We were fortunate that our neighbors were quiet but it coule be an issue, if you're not as fortunate.

Best features? A complimentary breakfast that included eggs, hash browns, yogurt, and waffles with good coffee. Lastly, both check-in and check-out staff members were polite and efficient. A few simple upgrades could improve the inn and the guest experience.

Although check-in was smooth, and the place was clean, we did not have wi-fi the whole evening. We finally connected the morning we were departing. At breakfast, there were no forks to eat with. Although it was not the fault of the property, the toilet had no lid. This was very unacceptable to us. This hotel met our needs for one night, as we had an event at McDill AFB.

Biscuits and gravy always keep me coming back. The staff are nice, hotel is clean, really no complaints this time. The decaf coffee for the coffee maker should be outlawed, lol.... Bathroom shower area showed noticeable signs of wear and tear. A remodel is probably due. No drinking glasses in the bathroom is also annoying.

It was a decent hotel I went to check out a day early and they wouldn't allow me to check out the lady said I could leave but I wouldn't be able to check out tried to call them on the phone to confirm that I was checked out and nobody would answer the phone I got there I had to spend 20 minutes beating on the door to try to get in because I turned my key in the night before the girl was in the back asleep wasn't a good experience overall is a nice hotel except for that part

It was odd that in the tub, they had a rubber mat. It looked clean but odd that those would be used for obvious sanitary reasons. And it had a couple of corners torn off from wear and tear. We pulled it out/did not use it. The breakfast was decent but only grabbed something quickly.

The breakfast was a typical free hotel breakfast, not very appealing. However, the entire week we were there, the hotel was very quiet, very well maintained and the staff was without exception, outstanding and deserving of high praise. We wont hestitate to return or to recomend the hotel to our friends.

Left before breakfast and it was very clean and well kept hotel. Will absolutely stay here again if I need to be to the airport in the morning in Tampa. Was about 20 minutes away, lots of lights even at 4:00 a.m. but hotel was excellent for the value

Secondly, I would like to say if there are efforts made to address the issue with the stench in the elevator and in the hallways, that would aid in a better customer experience. Lastly, I would like to point out the flooring of the shower cubicle is very slippery, I think it is an important aspect that needs addressed. Other that the above, the hotel is pretty decent.

The ladies at the front desk were amazing! Nicest night check in ever- my girls loved her she was amazing with my littles. When we needed a new room with an extra bed, they were very helpful and accommodating. Thank you for a great stay!

This is an unfair practice as guests cannot cancel with a full refund. Hotel was nice but the location is questionable. Breakfast was out and needed refreshed with over an hour left of breakfast time. Muffins were out, gravy was shallow and burning at the sides, no eggs. Lots could be done better. Also, at check in the clerk told me to have a good night but had not told me my room or given me the keys. I had to ask for them at which time she told me she gave it to me— she had not. She figured it out and we finally got into our room.

The lady that checked us in was wonderful with excellent customer service.

Very curteous and helpful front desk staff. Looks fairly new and well kept.

Pros: shower stayed hot, and bed was comfy. We didn’t eat the breakfast. To sum it all up. We stayed here because it was close to the base. To charge that kind of money for parking, daily clogged toilets with just doing number one. We will not stay here again.

Everything was good until check out and I found out that I was being charged for parking. I really think that is very poor.

Everything was nice and clean, the lobby smelled lovely when we walked in. Our room was spacious. The free breakfast was very nice. The location was a bit out of the was but not a big deal since we had our car (parking was an additional $7 per day).

Substantially Below Average hotel with a very very scammy additional charge, just to park in their own hotels parking lot, which is clearly just an additional way to grab a bit of extra money out of your pocket in a completely disreputable manner. Traffic around this hotel is very dangerous, and the neighborhood itself also feels very unsafe. The night we stayed here, there was constant police activity in this area, as well as both in the hotels parking lot and in the hotel itself, which smelled strongly of weed, and was definitely not a great experience. While it was a convenient spot to stay for our Tampa cruise departure, it is definitely not an option that I would ever take again as the negatives of this property greatly outweighed any conveniences and/or benefits that its proximity to the port, and somewhat lower than average price provided. Breakfast provided was only fair, and nothing special either.

Pro: Great value for the price. The staffs are very friendly. The bed is very comfortable for this price. Con: Parking is extra charge. The facility is out of date. Vents don't work in the bathrooms.

Not a great area. Had to pay for parking which came as a surprise. The room was clean but there was a bad smell in the lobby overlaid with disinfectant and the elevator smelled awful. Breakfast was not good, coffee was undrinkable. At least it was not overly expensive and the location was convenient.

The AC in the third floor hallway was not working … which meant the room AC was working overtime and there was dripping condensation on the curtains above the unit.

You get what you pay for with this hotel. It’s clean enough and no frills. Originally we booked this hotel because of the presence of electric chargers. Upon check in we asked the front desk the cost of charging. The person replied everything was included in the parking fee. So we charged the car and went straight to rest. Only to wake up to the fact that the charging is slow, and costs MORE than the peak time of charging at fast chargers.

It was an okay place, I saw it was highly rated and read the other reviews and thought it would be a good value stay for a quick change of plan occasion. It was fine but the elevator was not working properly, so stairs it is- no biggie I could use the exercise. No washcloths in the bathroom, kinda of aggravating. When the recent renovation was completed, they should have included new shower heads. The breakfast that other reviews raved about was just the same old continental breakfast that practically every hotel offers. It wasn’t a bad experience but it wasn’t a 9.2 either. Oh yeah they charged my card 7.42 for parking, which is ridiculous being that there is nothing sharing their lot or really anything else around to speak of. The only reason to park in that lot is to stay in that hotel.

This place is convient when i visit my daughter. Always clean and staff is friendly.

Overall the stay was okay and was acceptable enough for the length of our stay. However, there were some things that detracted from the stay at this location. The walls in the room seemed to be super thin and you could hear almost everything from the adjacent room as if there was no wall there. The elevator also seemed to be on the verge of breaking down. The complimentary breakfast was good but options limited. So overall I would say the stay was okay but not great enough to keep on my list of places to stay again if I am back in the Tampa/St Petersburg area

Some draw backs….. the neighborhood is a little rundown (we still felt safe). The worst thing about our stay was the smell of the hallways as soon as you get to the elevator in the lobby you can smell it. They smelled like mildew or something. I think maybe they shampooed the hallways and didn’t suck up the water properly. Anyway it made a visually clean place seem somehow dirty and it made my family really uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the place. Because of the smell we checked our rooms really really well and it was one of the cleanest rooms I’ve stayed in.

Polite and attentive staff. The hotel was immaculate. However we felt the area was not safe. The beds were very comfy but the synthetic sheets made us sleep very warm even with the temp set at 68 degrees. We would have liked a bit warmed water for a shower. It was lukewarm.

The breakfast was great! Nice selection. Quiet at night. Pool was nice. The bed was comfortable. Clean room.

Close to where I needed to be

There were a lot of options for dining within a short distance of the hotel. Target and Dollar Tree was conveniently close as well. I appreciated being able to do laundry late at night. I was glad there was more than one pack and play for my toddler since the first was broken. We however didn’t appreciate the smell of vomit that greeted us each time we entered the elevator. I was also unaware of a parking fee in addition to our booking.

Clean.

The cleaning fluid smell was super strong the first day. We opened a window and the smell dissipated. The cleaning person left a muddy shoe print in the shower but I was able to scrub it out. Otherwise we had a good 4 day stay. The bed was very comfortable and the workers were very nice!

Good value for the money, id give it 5 stars but internet wasnt connecting for some reason so i used my hot spot

Quality time for a great price.

The employee at the front desk was very professional and helpful. The AC in the room did not work. The front desk person was very apologetic and moved me to another room right away. She even helped me carry some bags. The hotel was nice and very clean. The breakfast was great. The location was very convenient for me. I will stay here again.

Staff were excellent!

The location was convenient for our needs. Hotel is dated, had a funny smell about it. Nothing smelled clean but appeared clean. Free hot breakfast was ok. They charge you for parking which is ridiculous considering the rate. Check in woman was very friendly, bed was comfortable.

Great location

We particularly liked the peaceful night's sleep. We didn't use the pool but it looked a little small, that's the only reason to give less than 5 stars on facilities.

Good place to stay

The place was very clean and the day staff was very nice. However, it’s more for business trip and not for couple. It’s outdated for this time. There’s a TV with partial cable, and you can only watch old shows. We were unable to use any of the apps such as Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, etc.. so the whole time we were on the phone and we couldn’t do much. Boring to the core.

This is a great small and friendly hotel in a great location close to MacDill AFB and lots of events in South Tampa. I've stayed here a few times when wanting to spend the evening in South Tampa.

Noisy The main desk staff especially Jules were extremely nice and accommodating

No car so we used Uber Eats for dinner. Exercise room small but top condition. Clean breakfast area with healthy choices.

Overall great property. Breakfast was great. Everytime i wanted to take my kids to the pool there were people there smoking. Halls have a terrible smell. Our room was clean. Beds comfortable. Great customer service.

Hotel was nice neighborhood around hotel had nothing really convenient to do as far as restaurants or bars nothing in a comfortable walking distance. And neighborhood seemed a little rundown. See picture for view from my room

We stayed one night in a king-size bed, pet-friendly room on the 4th floor. The front desk clerk was kind enough to put our family (without a pet) on the same floor so we could be near each other. The room decor was very nice and it was clean. The room was a little small, but fine for us. Everything in the room worked as it should, and it had a nice, walk-in shower. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The staff was courteous and efficient. Breakfast in the morning was very good. The location was fairly close to Amalie Arena as we were in town to watch a hockey game. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean and friendly

The common areas of the hotel seem well-kept and organized. The room we stayed in was quiet and maintained. The furnishings were relatively new. The hotel location was good as it's relatively closed to downtown Tampa but without the congestions of the city. There was ample on-site parking at the hotel. I would make another reservation at Sleep Inn & Suite Tampa South located at 6231 South Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL, 33611 in the future should we need to stay in the downtown Tampa area and the vicinities.

Hotel charged a sneaky hidden parking fee of $7 per night, which is not huge but it is not mentioned until you are checking in, my opinion - total BS junk fee. I am a handicapped driver with plates and placard and do not pay to park anywhere in Florida, let alone a hotel that I am overpaying for their nightly rate. This hotel is just AVERAGE, clean room, small room, $7 junk fee, good breakfast, we will not stay here again, you make your own decision.

Perfect for a one night stay while waiting to get on a cruise in Port of Tampa. Very clean and nice complimentary breakfast! Staff were very friendly!
