There was not hot water for the shower. The tub drain needed replaced. Excellent check in yesterday gentleman was very nice. Went beyond our needs. In the morning I advised a different gentleman about hot water and didn’t care. A lot of homeless people were around.

My room was very dirty, prostites outside, roaches everywhere. I did not stay, I slept in my car. I will never come here again. I went to the front desk to discuss the situation and no one to talk to.

Room was clean although dated and a bit musty. AC worked well and there is plenty of parking. Kudos on cleaning up the homeless people that used to camp out in front of the hotel with shopping carts, tents and chairs. There is a fridge and microwave and the TV is a decent size.

Room cleanliness was reasonable; the air conditioning works, but the compressor shuts off for extended periods, causing the room to heat up quickly.

Room was clean with fresh coats of paint and decorated with a minimalist modern industrial feel to them. Bathroom was basic and could use some minor modifications like a better shower head and providing a hair dryer--which is pretty basic most places even if they are bolted to a wall.

Do not book this place. It's filthy, riddled with roaches. Bed sheets had holes, floors were sticky. We didn't even stay the night , & when we told the front desk about our complaints he didn't seem phased. As if it was normal for the rooms to have bugs. Quick drive to Ybor City. The property was not as advertised. The room had a strong cigarette smell, and the bathroom was not clean. The hotel appeared run-down, and there were multiple people loitering near the property fence, which made me feel unsafe staying there with my family.

The facility does not look like advertised! We went to check in and ask about the pool and that is when they stated the pool was closed! The room itself was stale smelling and had a few bugs and spiders as if the room hadn’t been you touched in decades! It was a very short stay but I will most definitely never stay here again!

The staff kept following us around every time we left it felt as if we were being discriminated against because of our race I won’t be staying here again then they came up with some policy about checking out and having to wait 48 hours to check in again which is completely bogus I have never heard of such a thing

2 layers of bulletproof glass at the check in desk should have been an indicator of the overall quality of the place. There was black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the AC unit was really loud, and the floors were sticky. I kept my shoes on when in the room.

The place looked and smelled horrible. Our room smelled like weed. The shower tube looked like it hadn't been cleaned. If you walked around barefoot of the floora your feet became black. It was so gross. The room was cheap for a reason!!

The manager talked on the phone the whole time he checked us in. Frankly this place showed "regret of ownership" rather than pride of ownership. While they can't help it if the homeless peolple invaded the neighborhood, they could pick up the belongings left by them at the entrance put security lmonitors by the elevator and redo the elevator floor. We made as far as opening the door to the room, saw the saggy beds and turned around and left.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! We arrived here with our kids in the evening. There was nobody present at the "night window," and outside the property was an unattended car with all doors open, large and loud groups partying, homeless people... we did not feel it was a safe place. We immediately contacted Expedia and told them we would try to get a room at the neighboring hotel (which turned out to be 100% safe and so much better despite only a slight price difference), and got our first night refunded by them. Expedia said they would contact the owners of the hotel to get the rest of our money back. Three days later, we get a message from Expedia stating that the owners are completely unresponsive, which means they are unable to get us refunded.

The only pet I saw was a roach in my bathroom. THe pool was out of service. The fixtures bath faucet, AC, were not in good shape.

Outside the rooms, there were groups of people lingering around that made the environment feel unsafe and unsettling. Combined with the fact that the hotel is located in a bad neighborhood, I genuinely did not feel secure during my time there. I was supposed to stay from Friday to Sunday, but due to these conditions, I decided not to stay at all. I spoke with the front desk regarding my concerns, and they offered to move me to another room. I went with a staff member to view a second room, but unfortunately, it was just as bad if not worse than the first. At that point, I explained that I did not feel comfortable staying at the property and asked if there was anything they could do. The staff informed me that I would still be charged for the first night, but that I would receive a refund for the second night since I would not be staying. However, I never received the promised refund. Overall, this experience was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It is not expensive for a reason, not pleasant at all.

The room was dirty (stains on blankets), there was no iron or ironing board in the room (thankfully I brought my own), and the shower only provided piping hot water and nothing else (at least in my room). If you are looking for a cheap inexpensive hotel in the Tampa area, then I recommend this hotel. However, you are getting what you paid for.

I hate to do this to a family business but I went in on Friday for one night and unfortunately the first room we had smelled of cigarettes and the bedsheets were dirty. We complained and they gave us a more renovated room but the cigarette smell was even stronger. We decided to leave the property and stay at a holiday inn. I do think they are working hard to renovate the property but it’s just not there yet.

Staff were reassuring as the neighborhood was sketchy. Building was dated. You could tell that work was being done to upgrade it, but, my comfort level was not good.

Talked to staff about cancelling second night and they would not refund my second night. Housekeeping did not clean our room. When asked, the front desk said you have to request housekeeping. The neighborhood is terrible and I was very uncomfortable leaving anything valuable in my truck.

Blasting music after quiet hours, foul language and foul music. Arguing outside my hotel door and swearing to their god. Staff didn’t respond when called for the disturbance, cigs all over the floor and the room smelled like it. The corners where the ice machine and vending machines are located smells like urine. Overall not a recommendation.

As a solo traveler looking for a low price option on Expedia that's close to the casino this seemed like a decent choice. The cleanliness and furniture was subpar but that was expected based on price and reviews. AC unit worked great, water pressure was good, mini fridge was clean and functional. The surrounding area has a high frequency loitering and the mini mart near the hotel is more of a hangout for locals.

The hotel didn't look anything like the picture. Experian said that the hotel wouldn't release all the refund just the 2 nights.So I have a partial refund.lfeel li like was lied to about this a hotel. I will not be able to rate the services or the room not even cleanliness. Upon arrival we were greeted by Security who advised that safety was an issue. I would have to agree since there are at least 30 individuals lying in the street homeless. There are no restaurant or food chain or even shopping center close by. The roadway Inn is not recommended for anyone for short term shade.

I have never been more appalled by a hotel stay in my life. The Rodeway Inn Near Ybor City is not just outdated. It is filthy, falling apart, and completely unsafe. The room we were given was in horrible condition: dirty floors, crumbling walls with actual holes, peeling paint, moldy curtains, and a constant stench of stale cigarette smoke coming from the vents. The lighting was so dim we could barely see anything, and to make it worse, the shower head and faucet handle literally fell off, making it impossible to take a proper shower. There were cockroaches crawling around the room, which made even being there feel like a health risk. And as if that wasn't enough, there was a group of clearly high or intoxicated individuals loitering around the entrance of the building. We felt incredibly unsafe even walking to the room We decided to leave a full night early because it was simply not safe or healthy to stay there any longer. When we requested a refund for the second night, which we did not even stay for, Expedia tried to contact the property. The manager gave excuse after excuse and ultimately refused to approve the refund. I didn’t even ask for the full stay to be refunded, just one night! That was apparently too much to ask. It has now been over 2 weeks and I’m still fighting for a refund of just $90. That this property is still listed on Expedia is honestly shocking.

Find somewhere else to stay

The elevator smelled like pee. The room was very dark. The only think that was neat was the bed. Lamp with no lampshade on the dresser. There were rust colored stains on the plastic toilet lid. The bottom of the bathroom door was broken in pieces. We didn’t spend another minute in that room. We took our things and left. We only came back to sleep on top of the bed after our night out at 6am to get sone rest before driving back home. Will never come back.

The entire motel was surrounded by homeless and addicts including some using the pool to bathe themselves. We decided to check out at 2:00 am because the conditions and the surrounding activities at this motel were unbearable.

The front doors to the hotel lobby were closed and a sign said to go to the "NIGHT WINDOW", there was no security and people were coming in off the street and dodging around. This place is a drug haven, had to pay a deposit for I don’t know what, the room was all tore up. Tile in shower looked like it was going to fall out on me. People being robbed in front of me and don’t let me forget to mention people knocking on your door all hours of the night. I’m a single elderly lady and I was scared, no lobby to stand in just a window where you check in and pay deposit. No security at all ! I’m waiting for it to get light outside so I can call a Uber and get out of this death trap. I’m going through stage 4 cancer and traveled by air to see my mother in a memory care, cancer is the least of my worries right now.

Not at all like the picture, say one night ! Bugs in room musky room mildew smell, nasty ac untie I got the video to prove it!

Was jot pleased at all. I booked a double queen bed room and got full size beds. No blankets on the bed folded and put at corner of bed. Floors didn’t look to be vacuumed. The bathroom was nasty and had dead roaches in the tub. One wash cloth and one towel for 4 guest. The pool needed to be shocked. And couldn’t gain access to it till late in the afternoon after asking for it to be unlocked on several occasions.the outside area was far from being clean and you had drug dealers coming in and out along with numerous of people drinking and carrying on outside the fence to the hotel and n fence to the point that police were called. Not a very safe place for a family especially children would not recommend to anyone and I should of actually ask for a refund and found somewhere else to stay.

Too many homeless outside the hotel. Property was dirty with a bad smell. Too ghetto. Not staying there ever again.

Roaches everywhere

This hôtel shouldn't be on hotel.com its not safe Drug dealers hanging around and living there prostitute walk up to cars in the parking lot and the store across so many people hanging there look like they waiting to rob someone. The desk clerk dont know what clean is.

Blood on a couch that my nephew slept on they never bothered to take it out and rent it the room tours

Worst hotel I had stayed in. Room/towels were dirty and furniture was broke. People selling drugs in the parking lot, and looking inside your car. Bunch of girls walking thru the parking soliciting. I would never stay there again, even if it was as free. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST!

This particular Rodeway in was horrible. Floors were dirty. Walls were dirty. Sink was fallung apart. Bathtub/shower had mold in the silicon. The bed cover had cigarette burns/ holes in it. People outside smoking weed, loud offensive music til after midnight. Remote control for TV broke, held together with tape. Stated there was a laundry and continental breakfast, was told NO due to remodeling. ( wasn't remodeling) ABSOLUTE TRASH...

Room smells. A/c never cooled the room. Had to use my own passwords to access the tv, like Netflix or YouTube. None of the coke machines worked and only one ice machine worked on the top floor. But, the pool was nice.

The area very Unsafe and the conditions of the hotel very bad

There is a big homeless population around the hotel. It smelled, there was a dead cockroach on the wall. The bed spread and sheets was questionable. We decided on going to another hotel.

We went to a concert in Ybor city then came to our Motel room. At night, there are literally a 100 homeless people surrounding the Motel. It is scary to not feel safe. The room had a smell and there were roaches. My husband, my adult son and I slept on top of the covers fully clothed for about 4 hours until sunrise. We felt a little safer and left for our three hour drive home. Everyone was exhausted. This Motel is not safe and dirty

Run down with homeless people around the property doing drugs. Not safe… dog excrement also on the property from patrons staying with their dogs long term.

The room was in poor condition, but the environment around the hotel was the worst factor. The amount of people hanging around, sleeping, and doing drugs (actually witnessed a spoon over a flame) was overwhelming and not a safe place for guests. The front desk staff was great.

This property is invested with cockroaches, the vents are packed with dust, the floors are sticky, and the entire block is ridden with drugs being used and sold and homeless camps directly out front. My first room had broken a/c and was so musty I could barely breathe. I requested a room change...my new room had A/c but the window was unlocked before I got there. The refrigerator was missing and the TV didn't work. Worst hotel of my 33 year life.

Stuff in the room didn’t work well. The water on the shower barely turned on and the temperature wasn't adjustable, microwave only work on 1 setting, alot of the power outlets didn't work. Loud people yelling outside and in other rooms

I didn’t even check in, feel bad for the property with the homeless and looks to be a very high crime area, might be the normal but not for me.

When I arrived, there was a police cruiser out front. Didn’t think much about that, but when I came out, there was a gentleman who was dressed like a ninja with a badge clearly in SWAT outfits. The room was so disgusting that I decided I could not stay and ended up booking a hotel in another part of the city. Would not recommend anybody read that this hotel

This place is a shelter!!! People talking in the corridors, infested room with roaches, suspicious activities around the Inn. A terrible experience.

Everything above including feeling of theft so much I did not even stay the whole term I didn't even sleep well on top of that the place was dirty so much I didn't even want to take a shower

Our room was filthy and smelled awful. The sink and toilet were backed up. Thankfully we only had to stay one night. Never coming back.

Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The photos were definitely misleading or taken when the hotel first opened.

Homeless everywhere party's couldn't leave the room last night because the door would only open from the inside. Dirty rooms. Drug deals. Maintenance didn't speak English waited an hour to be let back in to room. No water all day Friday. Beds need to be replaced, springs poking you all night. No compensation for any of this. Was not a nice place at all and definitely won't be goin back!!!!!

Sketchy area, paper thin walls, noisy all night. I recommend you keep looking.

As soon as we walked in the light switch didn’t work and then when we finally got to the bathroom using our phone light to guide us there was roaches everywhere! My boyfriend and I were fighting for our lives!! Sheets dirty with oil stains microwave was disgusting and missing pieces! My skin crawled of how many roaches and how dirty it was. I’m from the hood so a few roaches don’t phase me but baby this place is infested. People lurking outside all through the night. I didn’t even stay for longer than 10 minutes! Close this place down should be ashamed to even have this place running. And I couldn’t even get a refund. PMO!!!

The location is unsafe The residence or homeless build thier activities(ect) around the property not a good place for staying at all.The front desk service didn't fight on wanted refund and agreed to it..

As i stated i just had brain surgery asked to check the room it was not very clean. I couldn't take the chance on infection so the owenr was very kind and canceled my reservation

The door did not close, the room was destroyed. I entered and went out. The hotel staff refused to refund me. Bun the time I got to my car I had at least 4 people standing around and looking into the bed of the truck VERY UNSAFE

We walked in the room and looked around the floor was gross the chair is covered in mold, the body mirror had smudges, and the toilet was stained, we also killed 6 roaches. We then asked to be moved to another room, which was cleaner although the the hard latch at the top of the door was broken, the chairs were again moldy and we also killed another 3 roaches. Safe to say we will never give this place our business again EVER.

It was a nice stay. The staff is pretty cool they seem respectful and easygoing. The coffee in the office was hot and fresh, now the people hanging around the neighborhood might make you nervous..lol! But if you stay to yourself and just looking for a spot to rest up this spot ain't so bad. And they have competitive prices.

I have stayed at several Rodeway Inn’s and I am Familiar with the area, so when booking this I thought it would be fine for just the night. Upon arriving, my husband immediately had a bad feeling. He is not one to get that way but I was extremely tired and just wanted to sleep. The front of the hotel looked fine but there were a lot of homeless people around and even a prostitute! I went to check in and had to wait several minutes for someone to come. I was placed on the 3rd floor and the room immediately next door looked like it was someone’s home, they decorated with their belongings. Actually the whole side of the hotel looked dirty and there were what it seemed like multiple peoples homes (inside they did have rates for long term rentals and if I knew that ahead of time I would have picked elsewhere.) inside the room you can smell and see black mold and smell cigarettes. There were multiple holes in various places, including right in front of the toilet! The main door lock was half dangling, and looked like it could be kicked in. The bed was very old and sank in so you could feel the springs. The microwave was very dirty. The painting looked like it had moisture damage and the bed had holes in the sheets. This app couldn’t help my situation but the man at the front desk kindly refunded when I went down and showed him photos. The hotel right next door looked so much safer and cleaner as well.

Cons - The room was not the cleanest, needs paint, burn holes on bed comforter, bathtub needs repair and some shower tiles were cracked but still usable. Lastly the area has LOTS OF HOMELESS, THUGS AND DRUG DEALERS outside durning the day and night. I saw 4 men sitting by the pool smoking marijuana and numerous bags of on the table. I was asked several times if i wanted to buy drugs. Honestly, I would stay here again If I couldn't find anything in the area with a comparable price.

only one room was offer and it was on the 3rd floor. the lift was not working and we were unable to walk up 3 flights or stairs.
