Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, the property is frequently criticized for being outdated, dirty, and in need of renovation, particularly the carpets, furniture, and bathrooms.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Convenient location
- Outdated and dirty property
- Carpets, furniture, and bathrooms in need of renovation

The room was very clean.

Staff was amazing. Place smelled clean. Breakfast was edible. No bugs, no moldy smells, friendly staff.
- 4/5
We liked the fact that the hotel fixed the incorrect booking and the non functioning TV right away. The facilities had obviously been updated recently but unfortunately hadn't put in any new furniture yet.So were left with very few lights in our room. I did accidentally stop on a different floor than ours and was very glad we were on an updated one. The breakfast was good except for no scrambled eggs The lack of lighting in our room made it difficult to see well at night. Only a desk lamp and an overhead one by the door. Even though our floor and the lobby were updated it wasn't done very well and still looked unfinished. Clean but unfinished
- 2/5
I have to say that this place was quite grubby. No the best but not the worst I have stayed in.
- 4.5/5
Friendly staff, decent breakfast, nice amenities. Could’ve been a bit cleaner

Convenient to USF Our room was awful, condensation all over floor; bathroom was disgusting. Tub drain was slow, walls had cracks, bad drywall patches, beds felt like they would collapse. Actually, the beds were more like a hide away bed but on questionable frames. Gnats flying all over room!
- 4/5
The beds in our room were not good - but Chris moved us to another room without any fuss. I was impressed.
- 3/5
I paid for the room in advance and then when we got there they wanted an additional $50 security deposit. Claiming they charge all customers this but especially since when paid in advance they do not have access to credit card if there are any damages. That is a load of garbage if you just ask for the card to remain on file they can charge it after it need be.
- 5/5
Clean room and parking was good
- 3/5
Only location is good rest nothing special! The bathroom door was poorly fitted and it was not able to close properly. No clean room . The bed was also not comfortable! . Very old property not renovated.

Suite was a great size, plenty of room to spread out and work, rest, and/or sleep. The couch in room was stained, The garbage cans in the hallways were overflowing. The TV kept losing signal with the satellite dish. Pool and spa were very nice. Staff was outstanding!!
- 1.5/5
Courteous staff, convenient location Room was recently modeled, but on a low budget. Was very tired, even with updates.

It was good till I found a bed bug in my bed had to switch rooms and check all my clothes I was not risking it
- 3/5
Staff mostly understood and spoke Spanish Bathrooms in lobby was poorly maintained sometimes no hand towels They ran out of bath soap for our room
- 2/5
Parking was easy, however on arrival the disabled parking is by a door that doesn't open until yoy have the key. It was unusual to have breakfast included which was good
- 5/5
The room was nice and clean. They had some amazing shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and even lotion. The staff was very nice to us and they were dog friendly as well. Very pleased with our stay.
- 1/5
We will NEVER stay there again!!
- 1/5
Stains in ceiling , bathroom rod falling , got showers only for 5 mins. It was by far the worst place I've been
- 3/5
Very beautiful property. Garden area was beautiful. Blinds were very artful. My room had 2 outlets not working.
- 2/5
Yes
- 3/5
Parking was easy. The location was convenient to the college. Newly renovated room was nice, however it was missing things and the construction dust was not cleaned from the closets/hangers etc. The room was missing lamps and the clock radio was not working, I think they remodeled the room and they did not recommission it into use correctly. Maybe rushed the checklist for the room readiness. Othewise the staff was nice and the breakfast was convenient.
- 3/5
No hand soap, no shower gel. Ask about it at front desk was told it was ordered. We were there 2 nights. They did give us a bar of soap. Rooms smell somewhat musty. They need to take out the carpet.
- 3/5
The staff was amazing. I felt safe and the room was quiet. The only complaint is the hotel is dated and needs many upgrades
- 5/5
Staff very helpful and the room clean
- 5/5
I was very satisfied with the trip
- 3/5
I’ve never had a hotel that had a double closet door be used for the bathroom door.
- 1/5
Booked a suite for the separate sleeping area. The couch was filthy! All the cushions were dirty and stained — I would not even sit on it. There were previously slept in, dirty sheets on fold out bed, which had an unusable mattress. It felt like you were simply laying on jagged metal springs. Awful. I will not stay at this property again.
- 3/5
It seems that some renovations may be going on. In our room, the plug in the bathtub wouldn't stay open and we showered in standing water. Instead of a new bathtub they chose to reglaze it, and that was peeling off. The bottle of bath soap was empty. The breakfast was ok. I was surprised at the hard boiled eggs instead of scrambled. Guess it's easier that way.
- 5/5
El hotel estuvo perfecto para lo que necesitábamos, me hubiera gustado que el desayuno fuera un poco mejor, de resto todo muy bien
- 3/5
Sufficient for the needs.. Surprise extra charges upon arrival.
- 4/5
Property and room was a little dated and could use some upgrades but overall was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory however no variety from day to day..same items daily.
- 1/5
Worst breakfast. I can not count this as break fast as compared to other hotels
- 5/5
Clean room, courteous staff

The parking was great. The room was clean. The beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly.

This motel is a healt
- 1/5
horrible, nasty
- 1/5
Never will stay there again. Exceptional poor service
- 3/5
They are in the middle of a renovation which wasn’t an issue. The issue was we were in a renovated room and that room looked like it was renovated by a 3yr old. They painted over plugs left holes, sink was still leaking. It was just a horrible job.
- 4/5
The property was nice and actually reflected the pictures online unlike some other hotels
- 1/5
Hallways and common spaces were disturbingly dirty. carpet was slick with filth, I walked in hallway for a trip downstairs and when i returned my slippers were so dirty the damp bathroom floor turned black with dirt. The room was modestly clean, and most spaces appeared the staff was trying, but its nasty overall. I would suggest either removing the laquinta name or starting a renovation tomorrow.
- 4/5
Rooms are spacious but the AC unit in our room was very loud.
- 3/5
It was only one night, thank Jesus. For 135 bucks its a thumbs down for sure.
- 4/5
Room was nice but could hear everything in the halls , dogs barking in the hotel
- 4/5
Basic hotel nothing fancy but gets job done. Clean room, close to Moffitt. Friendly staff, breakfast waffles delicious. Pet friendly as well if you have a dog.
- 3/5
Room was clean. Needs update, especially hall rugs by elevators. Walls are very thin, you can hear TV and speaking in room across and next to you. Staff was very nice. Need new pillows
- 5/5
Everything was excellent
- 2/5
The hotel was undergoing renovations, of which we had not been informed. Our room had a single desk lamp...no overhead lights, no bedside lamps. I was using a penlight to read. The walls were completely bare. The shower had the lowest water pressure I've ever seen; the tub was sloped; the drain wasn't even fixed into the tub; and most of the bath towels had a strong chemical odor to them. There was one small trashcan in the bathroom and that was it. They had Fox News on in the lobby during breakfast hours on Saturday. They charge $5 for WiFi, unless you're a Rewards member...I've never heard of a hotel doing that. If we had been given some kind of discount for the inconvenience, it might have helped. As it is, the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one is because most of the staff were very friendly.
- 4/5
It was nice for what we needed it for, a place to rest our heads. You can tell they are remodeling, so vending machines were empty, smell of paint, but it was clean.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, clean room
- 3/5
Hotel is undergoing a renovation. So lots of work, painting and room upgrades in progress
- 2/5
The hotel is going through a renovation and the room was not as expected. The breakfast want the greatest either.
- 3/5
Room was ok but needs more improvement especially in the bathroom. It needs upgrade overall. As to the hotel, rugs in hallway should be cleaned and walls painted in a lighter color so the halls don’t look dark, room doors either replaced or painted.
- 5/5
Room was great, and the renovations that have been done are making this place the nicest place to stay in town!
- 3/5
Rooms need a lot of updating and the building itself needs a lot of painting inside and out Needs a lot of care Breakfast was good Staff was good
- 3/5
Not what was expected. And my expectations were not high. Remodeled room still had holes in the wall and bandaid painting with no ceiling fixed just painted over cracks. Waffles for breakfast were supposed to be the greatest. NO. Dough seemed overmixed and chewy. Very nice overworked staff. Poor night girl was working all by herself with very needy guests and no assistance. Spend the xtra $100 for the next level hotel. Okay to use this one if bookings are full. It is clean and bed was king size and comfortable. Just don’t expect a super nice remodeled hotel as they did the cheap budget job on minimal refresh for upgrades in my opinion.
- 3/5
The front desk attendant was very friendly and welcoming. The room smelled nice and clean when we walked in the door. But then when we got into the bed we noticed a huge brown stain on the sheets. So that was not pleasant to see. I know the hotel is under remodel at the current moment. So they definitely should work on having clean sheets on the bed with no stains. But other than that it was okay.
- 2/5
Construction in lobby. Lots of Hair stuck on the drain in bathtub and there was blood and something looking like poop on the comforter when you flip it over ( I left it turned down so that they will see it when cleaning today.. yuck)
- 1/5
The dining room floor was broken up with caution, tape around the dining part where you eat breakfast The elevator was broken, which did not accommodate my disability. The hotel smelled like mold. The floors were filthy. The carpet was shredded, which caused tripping. They did not have pillows for the room. They substituted a blanket for a pillow. When we arrived, the person on duty was on their laptop playing a game with someone and seems irritated that they had to get up and wait on us to check us in. We checked out after the first night stay even though we had an extended stay. The place was horrible. We would never recommend it to anyone.
- 1/5
Rooms dirty smelled badly and on the 4th floor and had problems with the elevators all weekend. Never stay there again.
- 1/5
Well the place was filthy. The bathroom doors had splashed drips and were literally rotting apart at the bottom. I pulled the hairdryer out to use and goop was crusted on it. And the bed was a terrible mattress. The shower water wouldn't turn off. I was astonished at how nice the Homes 2 Suites was next door. Do better. Will never stay at a La Quinta again you've ruined it.
- 2/5
House keeping knocked on the door at 915 while we were sleeping. When we didn’t answer the door they entered the room! Do they not communicate to the housekeepers which rooms have checked out and which haven’t?
- 3/5
The hotel is undergoing renovations… the room we had was 1/2 done up. I would avoid this hotel until it has been completely finished.
- 5/5
The while stay was nice. Friendly staff and a good vibe.
- 4/5
Courteous staff, comfortable beds. Decent breakfast included. It is outdated, somewhat shabby and needs tlc. It seems, however, that work is being done to update.
- 4/5
The room was good, size comfortable, the only thing not like is the smell of the carpet
- 1/5
Old
- 3/5
The second room still only had one lamp. This time at the desk, not bedside And again only one trashcan!! But the tub at least was not leaking. The microwave/refrig seemed to work properly Breakfast was a little more that continental: hot boiled eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, bread, toast, yogurt, and juices ans coffee. The 55" LG TV in the room was nice.
- 1/5
First room didn’t have any lamps-no lights front desk nice lady changed the room-smelly room and bed linen and sheets, carpet was stained and dirty-bathroom was ok and seemed newly renovated
- 5/5
Clean room, nice employees. Good breakfast. Would return.
- 3/5
Overpriced. Elevator not working. No breakfast as advertised. Many guests complained about breakfast. Whole place smells like paint.
- 2/5
The pool amd hot tub were closes according to them for a gas leak, both were filled. The continental breakfast nothing for 6 days not even hot coffee, the last two days we were giving a brown bag with a muffin and child size orange juice box, front desk ladies in the morning rude not friendly af all . Our room was newly renovated but had stains ans holes in the ceiling. No care at all for guests
- 3/5
Evening staff member was great, very helpful. Breakfast was served in a paper bag and there was no coffee. Room was very clean. Elevator needs to be upgraded before any major issues
- 3/5
Property currently being remodeled.
- 4/5
Rooms clean, staff friendly, well done
- 5/5
Rooms where very clean staff helpful and friendly...Breakfast was good clean area and lady was very sweet
- 1/5
Booked this property for 6 nights stay but left this place after two nights. All recent reviews reporting this place as "terrible" are 100 % accurate. At 4th floor there was a bad smell in the hallway and in the rooms. There were no trash bins in the room and no iron. I couldn't get those in two days I stayed there. Avoid this place!
- 1/5
Whydham hotels business a very shady business. AVOID IT AT ALL COST.
- 2/5
Room was dated, bath/shower fixture was loose and water was cold.
- 4/5
The breakfast was alright just needed a little more choices. We were there for one night due to a late doctor’s visit.
- 5/5
Clean, super staff, gr8 Breakfast🌞. Thx!
- 1/5
The room smelled because of the years of filth held in the carpet. Had to use menthol rub under my nostrils to tolerate the smell enough to sleep. Linens appeared clean but there were stray hairs in both sheets and towels. Got in late at night so had no choice but to stay the night before my niece's graduation. I should have slept in the rental car. The last straw was a little ROACH that ran past my feet in the bathroom while using the toilet out of desperation. Utterly horrible. Do not buy. I hope an inspector reads this.
- 1/5
We had to asked for new towels a couple of times because the once they give us had pubic hairs. It was so gross. If I wasn’t in a budget and if I had the energy I would have change hotels but i just didn’t have it in me to argue. I would never stay here again. But, i gues you get what you pay for. !
- 2/5
Room was not inviting at all. Outdated furnitur. Noting appealing
- 5/5
Room was fair. Renovations supposedly going on. Staff pleasant.
- 1/5
The entire hotel qas disgustingly dirty. We checked out after one night.
- 1/5
Dirty and run down !!!
- 3/5
The staff was courteous and all the floors were filthy. Carpets were dirty the room something had a lot of water damage. It’s an order Hotel I think needs refurbished. We had a problem. I’m getting out of Peoria Illinois to Tampa our reservations for Tampa for the 30th, but our plane did not leave Peoria until one 2:30amin the morning, it was 7 1/2 hours late. We got into Tampap in the morning. We can only stay a few hours and then we had to be on a cruise ship, but I had to call the Hotel three times to make sure they did not give our rooms away and then they said they could not guarantee even though I had already paid for
- 2/5
The door lock wouldn't work for us twice. Had to get the key replaced. The door was sticky and gross. No body wash in the shower stall the bottle was empty. Mountains of cigarette butts in almost every corner of the property. It felt over all just like a dirty location for a La Quinta Inn. Breakfast was a joke and came out late. Will not be staying here again and question trying another La Quinta in the future.
- 2/5
The hallways and rooms are atrocious. There's mold on several large ceiling areas in room..
- 2/5
Night staff took like almost an hour to get inside and check in my room. I called like two hours ahead of time to make sure our were able to check in my room after midnight because I got off at midnight.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was outstanding
- 4/5
very old rooms n stuffy smell of rugs but linens were clean is good value for price
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly. The first impression of this hotel is a little shocking. The carpet on the property is very worn out and dirty. A lot of the other reviews mention “roaches”. If you do a quick Google search about “roaches in Florida” they are very common because of the humidity and warm climate. The only thing that I didn’t like is that when I got to my room there was
- 5/5
The overnight work he was not pleasant at all. The main doors were locked to the hotel when we came in he made snide remarks that we should use the side door instead as if we as paying quests were a problem and that him getting up out of his chair was a problem. We swiped our key the door didnt open. I have a huge even coming up and want to reserve 25 plus rooms since the girl when i checked in was amazing but I wont have my quests greeted that way if they try and check in at midnight.
- 3/5
I had an updated room. Some finishing touches were still in progress but the room was clean.
- 1/5
I understand this is a budget hotel but at $150 a night, at minimum I would expect cleanliness. This hotel is hideous, the carpets are stained and have mold all around. The furniture in the room was spent and filthy. If you can, avoid this hotel by all means.
- 1/5
Property need to be updated
- 1/5
The facility is Old need to be updated
- 1/5
Room was very outdated & bathroom & towels were not satisfactory
- 1/5
The room was dirty and so was the bathroom. The ceiling was in horrible condition and so was the bathtub (it had brown rust stains). They’re doing remodeling but it looks so bad still. The staff was nice and friendly
- 3/5
Because this hotel is pet friendly, carpets should be removed designated rooms.
- 3/5
The room was clean and in good condition. Hotel is extremely outdated. And the staff could use an upgrade as well.
- 4/5
Nice quite place, just would like little cleness in public areas
- 2/5
i was charged twice for my stay and no one had made it right, won’t even answer the phone. my key wouldn’t work on the front door me and my people were stuck outside in the cold w sore feet from the show for 45 mins, save your money, i’ll update if the resolve anything for me.
- 3/5
It was just ok.
- 5/5
staff got me in my room quick and gave me extra sheets when asked
- 1/5
They’re remodeling or renovating but we had no warning. Got to our floor to come into a construction zone with paint all over the carpets, the baseboards were all removed, old shelves stacked in the corner by the elevator. It was shocking. Thankfully the room wasn’t in a renovation state, but the walls are paper thin so we could hear every time the neighbor turned on their TV.
- 1/5
Under construction
- 2/5
The staff were pleasant and efficient. The breakfast was not just a continental breakfast but a full breakfast were there was a wide variety of food from waffles you could make, hard boiled eggs, cereal, bagels, fruit, muffins etc. and it was well stocked. It was the best part of the entire stay. I would not stay at this hotel again. The price was way to high and the smell of mold and extremely dirty rugs everywhere was unpleasant.
- 2/5
Pool closed by Florida DOH. Laundry facilities closed. In room refrigerator constantly beeping and front desk advised they don't know why it keeps doing that. They suggested turning it off and on but that did not work. Beeping noise 24/7. Expired food items in vending machine. Staff confirmed and said it's best to go to WaWa.
- 1/5
The room and bath were dirty. Dead bugs on the counter. Within 12 hours the tub and and toilet were clogged. There was no working men’s room in the hotel. When we called the front desk they said they would send someone right up. We then called back they said he was on his way. We called again and they said they can’t find the maintenance man. He eventually came to fix the toilet. There was also no hot water during our stay. We told the front staff. They said they hadn’t heard that. No one came to clean the room while we stayed either.
- 1/5
Reservation was canceled and I did not stay at the hotel and the hotel agreed to refund me my money I have video I can show it to please give me a call
- 5/5
Good breakfast, plenty of workspace. Our only disappointment was that the hot tub was cold and no one seemed to know how to operate it. We had to wait a few minutes at the desk for pool towels. Otherwise, all was great!
- 1/5
Awful hotel, awful customer service!!
- 1/5
Moldy smelly rooms and awful customer service!
- 1/5
The rooms smell like mold, I got sick and I only stayed there one night! Horrible service, will not be coming back ever!!
- 2/5
Service is below average and the rooms are moldy, smelly and dirty!
- 2/5
No cable tv available, room not made up, vending machines don’t work empty ice machines indifferent staff.
- 2/5
Wifi was terrible , hotel was rundown
- 4/5
The showers are confusing to use if you got a handicap accessible room. The room was very roomy and comfortable. Bring your own pillows
- 4/5
The hotel Was fine for a brief stay. I wouldn’t make a family vacation out of it though. The hotel itself is old and dated and needs maintenance. Actually I saw it under renovation while I was there which is a good thing but the day I check in, for a solid hour from 330pm to 430 pm they’re was drilling or sawing near or above my room and I had to leave for awhile. Unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about that
- 2/5
Under construction it seems. Certain areas were downright disgusting. Certain areas were okay. Great location for the parks. Wouldn’t stay here again though.
- 5/5
Muy bueno
- 4/5
No working WiFi except in lobby. In current times that is an amenity that should be a non-issue for guest stay. Standard requirement. Shame on Hotel owner not to do upgrades to the property
- 3/5
The staff was great, cold room and the breakfast wasn't bad. But you can tell this is jus a dated hotel.
- 3/5
First room we checked in reeked of smoke. Was given another room that was fine. Carpet in the halls on our floor was filthy. Not a good look. Wish we stayed next door at the Hilton as we did previously.
- 3/5
The carpet was a mess. very dirty.
- 5/5
Yuengling brewery, Busch gardens, botanical garden, USF, Moffitt cancer center within a few minutes drive. Lots of restaurants & easy access to Tampa. Hotel undergoing upgrades, very comfortable.
- 2/5
el hotel necesita mantenimiento urgente esas paredes y puertas es horrible el olor dentro del hotel es malisimo necesitan hacer algo porque por el precio que vale las noches uff si llego a saber que estaba asi ubiese escogido otro hotel
- 4/5
Great place only issue was the shower head didn't work well
- 3/5
I was disappointed with the suite as it smelled bad like a wet dog, we had to ask for another room. There was no wifi in the rooms and they said it was not working for the past few weeks. They also cut the water when I was about to shower but that was only for an hour. Overall I was very disappointed
- 5/5
Room was amazing. Staff was great
- 2/5
Too many things to list, don’t stay there unless you need to save money.
- 3/5
ongoing renovations throughout so construction related mess dominated the hallways etc
- 3/5
I looked at a couple of other rooms, but they were no better. Normally, I don’t write reviews like this, but given the premium rate I paid, I was expecting a clean, comfortable, and fully operational stay. Under the current conditions, the price should have reflected the state of the hotel. I hope management will address these issues so that future guests have the quality experience La Quinta is known for. The people that work this hotel are very kind and very good.
- 5/5
Thank you once again La Quinta and I really hope you guys expand outside to more parts of the United States! :)
- 1/5
Floors in the room were filthy. The elevator floor was even dirty and had signs were stuff had been spilled that had not been mopped up or cleaned up. Commode seat was extremely loose. Bathroom floor with dirty. When they came in the room to make the bed they left the dirty wash clothes and towel in the bathroom.
- 5/5
We always like to stay at this hotel franchise. Always friendly and reasonable on pricing. They usually have no problem with early check in.
- 2/5
It would have been nice to know the hotel is under renovation. We were given a room with the toilet wasn't working properly and loose on the base. I had to open the tank to flush. The tub was rusted and the shower didn't work right. The rug had an odor and sticky. I commend the staff for putting me in a better room but offended that I was put in that room in the first place.

Arrived at the hotel and they said their system was down and they had no idea how to fix it so we couldn't check in. We needed to be at a concert and couldn't wait for this to be fixed. Please refund me at the full expense.
- 3/5
Friendly & very accommodating front desk, but likely won’t return to the one.
- 3/5
Very old hotel that needs a remodeling urgent. Dirty carpet and couches.
- 4/5
I liked the smoking and social area which allows you to interact with others at the hotel
- 3/5
breakfast was bogus.. Eggs were hard boiled with shells removed sitting in hot water. some were broken open..water was cloudy..ugh!!!
- 3/5
For a quick overnight it was fine. Could use upgrade such as carpeting in the rooms, but bathrooms more newly modeled and clean. The free breakfast nice layout nice options good coffee. Staff very friendly and efficient.
- 3/5
The carpet in this facility is very disgusting
- 4/5
Check in was easy. Associate very friendly. Room was clean. A/C sooo loud. There was a group(10+) camped out by back entrance, door propped open with rug. In and out til after midnight. Kid running in room above us til 3am!!! Reported. IDK if addressed
- 1/5
Terrible grounds Pictures were made to look much better than propert Poor condition and old
- 1/5
Really low maintenance. Housekeeping never came. Paid a surprise pet fee and it was dirty and in poor con. Vending machine food rotten. Breakfast lame and very low value for the money. Never back again.

Hotel is across the street from USF and very close to medical centers
- 2/5
First of all, the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was extremely dirty (carpets), and needed updating. We were afraid to go barefoot in the hotel room. It smelled musty and moldy and the carpet felt damp. The bed was clean and comfortable though. We felt somewhat unsafe due to activity outside and some of the guests in the building.

Was perfect for a visit to USF
- 5/5
Always nice and convenient to have breakfast at the hotel. The location is so convenient for visitors to USF. The staff is always very pleasant and helpful.
- 3/5
I don’t know if they were under renovation but the carpets were in terrible shape, like old basement carpets. The smell was terrible. Never going back again
- 4/5
The carpet needs to clean or replace.
- 5/5
It was a pretty cool place and I highly recommend!
- 5/5
We had a pleasant stay. Room was good, staff was nice. Didn’t like having breakfast at the lobby, but I hope this gets changed
- 4/5
Room was spacious and clean. Bath left something to be desired. Mostly clean. Convenient to many restaurants.
- 1/5
Worst experience so far. The place is completely neglected, there are signs that say remodeling but it seems that in reality nothing is happening, they should be ashamed offering this kind of accommodation under the current conditions.
- 4/5
It was convenient and busch garden was near by
- 2/5
I wouldn't stay again.
- 1/5
Stuff was sleeping I had to wait 25 minutes until he wake up, the shower is dirty I’m going to attach pictures
- 1/5
I didn’t like it, it was super dirty and it made me feel unsafe and unsanitary
- 2/5
I will start with cleanliness- or not so much. Upon entering the front entrance the carpet was severely stained and looked nasty. The sheets had a stain and there was a chewed piece of gum stuck on lamp. The room door didnt shut properly so when housekeeping left room, I arrived to my room being open. The window didnt lock and I was in 1st floor, so that was a concern. The staff when alerted was very responsive & friendly. Doubt I will return to Laquinta again.
- 3/5
The moment we walked in, it felt like a senior assisted living facility. The hallway was dim and carried a strong scent of cleaning detergent. The room itself was old but fairly spacious. The bathroom had no fan and no locks on the door. I had read the reviews before booking, so my expectations were low—because of that, I wasn’t disappointed with the stay. The location is very good; close to USF and restaurants.
- 1/5
The online pictures look good, when you enter the hotel the carpet is nasty and probably more than 20years old. room smells musty , bath tub was nasty and had a white mat with brown spots. Terrible and NASTY me and my wife regretted staying at this hotel wish i had stayed somewhere else. Please dont make the same mistake i did.
- 3/5
The hotel is cheap and cheerful. The bed was comfy and clean. The room was ok. Struggled to get hot water for a shower. Only option for coffee in the room. It is only a two star. You get what you pay for. The inclusive breakfast was ok. Quality of the food average.
- 4/5
Need to replace carpet and upgrade tile in lonby. Little gross. The room was very clean excep the couch. Yuck.
- 5/5
This property is very close to bush gardens, i think it only took 3 mins to drive there. They offer free breakfast and also have a gym, pool and hot tub. Safe area with some food options near by.
- 3/5
It seamed like it was a long term living facility rather that guest accommodation

I am a la Quinta regular. This one needs som work.
- 5/5
They took care of me when I was in some trouble, definitely recommend this place! :)

Cockroach in the hallway!!! And hot tube got just warm!!!!
- 2/5
Extremely dirty carpet, old and dirty elevator
- 5/5
Very friendly front desk!
- 3/5
Good for the price and convenience to USF
- 2/5
The hotel was dirty and run down from the entrance to the rooms to the pool. Breakfast was basic and the toaster didn’t work. The carpets were so badly dirty as was the pool. I’m not sure of our sheets had been changed as there was hair on the sheet when we pulled the blanket down. We wore shoes in our room even in the shower. Very unclean.

Carpets need work. Curtains with holes and some walls need new paint

My husband had an early appointment at Moffit Cancer Certer the next morning after checkin. It was very convenient.Quite hotel. Under much need renovation.
- 1/5
Property was filthy! Sheets were dirty, floors were dirty and there were dead an alive bugs 2 found in bed! The water was either hot or Hades hot there was no in between. AC barely kept room cool no where near cold. Construction on our floor was loud and started early, workers blared their music with no thought to guests. Whole lobby smelled like marijuana which was being smoked in the courtyard with doors open and staff didn’t say anything! This was $400 wasted and a long weekend ruined.

I was in town for a birthday party and reserved the room at this hotel due to the proximity of the party venue. When we arrived the outside looked decent and well kept but once I walked inside I immediately was met with a moldy smell, poor lighting and very dirty carpet in the waiting/breakfast area. When I got to my room it was much of the same, weird smell dirty carpet, hair in the shower. We were supposed to have two Queens, felt like Twins. It was only for a night but if you staying anymore than that I would stay far, far away from THIS location!
- 1/5
This hotel is in such bad condition that I am reporting it to Wyndam, Hillsborough County, and The City of Tampa.
- 1/5
The only good thing about this place are the employees. Amazing service butttttt…. The place is run down. The carpets are stained, the couch in the room was dirty, stains, written on, and it smelled. The carpets on the hallway were horrible full of stains, we had the pleasure of running into a long term resident (roach). Out of all the places i have stayed in this is one of the worst and most run down hotels. I imagine the carpets must be the original ones installed when this place was opened, there is no other explanation. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it was free.
- 4/5
Staff was great. Loved that it was dog friendly. Very close to University of South Florida. Did smell a lot of “smoking” in and around the building.
- 1/5
Outdated, mold, dirty and bad odor
- 1/5
The hallway carpeting was filthy, and the room wasn't much better. There wasn't much to choose from for the continental breakfast. Would not stay there again.
- 1/5
Too expensive for one night for the poor condition of the rooms, we were 4 couples and it was horrible, the tubs were broken, the sinks too, some did not have cold water, to brush your teeth the water did not come out regular but super hot, the irons did not work, the elevator was horrible, the entrance keys to the room did not work, one of the couples was left out of the room without being able to enter with their things since the first time they entered the service was the one who opened it because with her key I could not, we really did not stay at all it was just to sleep and the night cost us almost $ 260 dollars and it was not possible because when we arrived at night we realized that one of the couples had been left outside and their things inside, the service could not resolve it, we had to wait until the next day at 7 am for someone to come to resolve it ... In short, it was terrible, we were tired and going through all that was not pleasant at all. I do not recommend it ***
- 3/5
dusty carpets causing both of us to sneeze Would not go back or recommend you should refund when you have places like this on your site I want a response
- 2/5
Staff was very nice and I wish shape of property was better for location.
- 3/5
I wanted to run away the moment we arrived. When you come out of the elevator (scary, slow and noisy) the carpet is disgusting, beyond dirty! Thank god the room was clean and the floor is not carpet (if it would have had a carpet I wouldn’t have stayed). I won’t stay here again unless the property gets a deep clean, a new facade and those nasty carpets get ripped out.
- 2/5
I wasn’t impressed and felt I was very overcharged for what I received. They were under construction and couldn't use the facilities downstairs. We were on the second floor and the carpet was absolutely disgusting. I was embarrassed that I picked that place to stay with my sister to go to my brothers funeral. Coming from Arizona and going to Florida I didn't know what I was getting. Just going by pictures and price range I sure thought it would be better than I had. I food for breakfast was the exact same every morning. Not good!!
- 5/5
The staff at the front desk were very helpful and nice. I appreciate the excellent customer service.
- 4/5
Nice pool area. Very quiet. Great, friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast.
- 2/5
The hotel was quite gross. The seemed fine, but the moment we stepped into the elevator (permit expired 2 years ago), we regretted our choice of hotel. The elevator was in poor conditions and filthy, the carpets in the hallway were excessively dirty and stained and there was an overwhelming scent of cheap air freshener to mask the smell. We were put in a non-smoking room that had obviously been smoked in for years; it smelled of stale cigarette and the curtains had burn marks and holes in them. Lamp shades were stained, the carpets were dirty and stained, there were handprints all over the mirrors; the shower didn’t seem to have been properly cleaned. Not at all what we were expecting for nearly $400 CAD for one night. Very disappointing.

I'm still waiting on a refund from Expedia
- 3/5
We went to the room they gave us on the 3rd floor. When the elevator door opened, I was appalled at the state of the carpet in the hallway. The door to the assigned room was open and the room had not been serviced. We returned for another room and received one on the first floor which appears to have been renovated. Phones and internet was down when we arrived.
- 1/5
The room was in terrible shape. Paint chipped on doors, lamps and desk top. The shower head water was lacking in strength and when moved to adjust the head, it almost broke off. The shower towels were stained. The pool lounges were in bad shape and moldy. The complimentary breakfast was lacking. English muffin and bagel were moldy. Staff had lack of knowledge of the general Tampa area for tourism. And it seemed as though some people were living there as residents. Me and my daughter left one day early and stayed elsewhere.
- 1/5
Really dirty smells terrible Very loud at night And there was no employee at the front desk when we tried to register he came back after us waiting over 40 minutes Definitely our worst experience.
- 5/5
Always like staying there.

My experience here was amazing. I was in town with my disabled son for his surgery at a local hospital the following morning. I was distraught when we arrived, in tears, tired and frustrated with my own situation. The receptionist Cheyanna was so kind and helpful. She brought over Ms Karen, the hostess, and the two women prayed for my son and I. It was exactly what I needed at the time. I am so thankful for their compassion and love. It was extremely comforting to be treated like family by complete strangers. They gave us an extra blanket for my son's comfort and made us feel right at home. Sometimes it's not the facility, not the cleanliness, not the beds or the rooms that matter...but the heart and soul of the staff that make for an awesome experience. I'm forever grateful for their loving hospitality.

When we arrived we felt the property was safe but when it was dark we were approached by strangers and we were scared. We left around 2 am and drive elsewhere.
- 1/5
We stayed at the hotel for a concert at the University. If we had more time, we would have found another hotel. The room was FLITHY. The carpet needed replacement as well as the sofa which was full of stains. As soon as we arrived back home, clothes in the wash and in the shower. Never again will we stay at a La Quinta. I should have read the reviews before booking.
- 1/5
It was so nasty and unkept we never set our bags down. Went back to the front desk and told them we were leaving and please refund our money. They said we had to go through Expedia. Please return our money.
- 2/5
The room floor was so filthy we wore the same socks to walk around the room our entire stay. The used to be white socks are now black as tar and were thrown away. The pool was dirty and the hot tub was even worse and cold. All the staff were very nice and accommodating except the Caucasian lady at the front desk. I received a text to check out or pay for late check out. I approached the desk to tell her I was going to check out late and would pay. She rudely said "there is no late check out." I told her I reveived a text and link to pay for it and she rudely repeated herself. The property is old, outdated and doesn’t look anything like the pictures.

What the hotel lacks in condition and cleanliness is shadowed by an overwhelmingly friendly and courteous staff.
- 1/5
Grossest hotel ever! Smelled of cigarettes thin blankets, moldy ac, backed up bathtub, leaky faucet, dirty sticky rug. If I were Expedia would take this hotel off my website.

The property need to change all carpet .

Shower had constant leak, carpet appeared old and dirty. Convenient location
- 3/5
It was absolutely disgusting! I made it a point to not take my shoes off in the hotel to include my own room. The floors were dark and stained all over. The bathroom floor was dirty and the shower was dark as can be. Instead of cleaning the shower they put a white adhesive over the bottom but that only makes the contrast that much worse.

Nice quiet location. Friendly staff
- 3/5
I like to location of property, close to almost everything. The lighting was poor in the hallways and room. Overall a decent place to stay if you are planning to be locked up in the room all day

We took pictures of four cockroaches in the room. The bed mattresses were old, worn and sunk when we slept on them.

Friendly staff & service

The only reason I gave one star was for the staff that checked us in. They were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was beyond, dirty our bedsheets and comforters had stains on them and didn’t seem clean. Pur feet got stained black from walking around the room in less than 10 minutes. Do not stay here it smells like mold, feet and cigarette smoke. Look other places!
