Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Ybor Historic District

Breakfast was the only disappointment. Eggs over-done, pancakes not done enough. (They did not charge us for the pancakes). The location was primo. The staff was excellent. Breakfast. The parking was expensive and the payment for it was difficult to set up. Still, glad we could park there.

I liked the close proximity to points of nearby points of interests. What I didn’t like was that I had to pay $34 for overnight parking had I known I would of stayed at another hotel that parking was included for free. I was also told at check in the continental breakfast was free only to find it wasn’t. It was very misleading and I also overheard another family was told the same thing.

However this location does have additional charges beyond the room charge. There is a charge to keep a car on the property overnight and a charge for breakfast each morning. Be prepared to spend an additional $30+ a day behind the room charge.

We stay here every year to attend nearby events but this year the property felt empty and run down. The employees didn’t want to be there and it showed. The first room had a nest of roaches in the bathroom and we were given a second room which had a bad air conditioner. The parking system overcharged our credit card $900! Took the weekend to get a credit back. We will not be staying here again.

Great location in Ybor city! We were able to walk to dinner and check out the very cool area! Highly recommend the New York New York pizza place! It was so good! We stayed here one night before a cruise! It was wonderful and easy to get to from airport and to get to the port to cruise! Staff was friendly and helpful and it was very clean. Will stay again if in area!

The hotel did not have laundry detergent for me to buy so I had to walk across to the convenience, store and pay triple the price other than that the day was good

Great location. $30 a day pay parking. Across the Steet (or anywhere) no more than $12-$15 parking. No free breakfast. Cooked to order breakfast $20 each omelet. Pool and hot tub were both super dirty and filled with dead ants, bugs, and debris.

The hotel was amazing and in a great location near a nice park that has a farmers market on the weekend. And there’s a free trolly nearby that goes to downtown Tampa. The staff were super helpful and nice and the hotel has a lovely pool and the hotel is very well maintained and the room was spacious and clean and I would highly recommend staying here as I definitely will be on returning trips to the Tampa area.

Very helpful and knowledgeable front desk staff. Though the parking situation was a bit complex to understand, staff knew exactly how to work with the app on the phone for parking and explaining how to enter and exit. They also smiled and seemed very happy about the work they did.

That typical musty odor that you experienced in hotels was not present so facilities wise it was a very clean hotel. My biggest complaint is the fact that we had to pay $30 a night to park, and although it is on the Expedia listing, it is 3-4 pages in. Also, the continental breakfast was over ripe fruit and store-bought bread, bagels, and muffins. There was also overcooked oatmeal and dry cereal Had issues with our key card not working last night Honestly, we spent the night in Palatka Florida with a lower tier hotel chain, and actually that stay was a bit more pleasant. For the amount of money we paid-would not stay there again

Staff was very nice and helpful! Will note that while our room was ready early, the bathroom curtain was faulty and kept falling. Additionally, the sensor to our door stopped working and we got locked out of our unit late one night and had to call the front desk very late at night/early in the morning to get it fixed.

We didn't partake of the paid to-order breakfast. Air conditioning - the T stat was not the most user friendly, but it more or less did the job. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. Now, unfortunately, the carpet in the room was..........it had seen better days, and it did carry a sort of a musty odor. Elevator........slow as slow can be. It became quite apparent that this property was recently rebranded into Hilton Garden ....Inn. We are not at all sure that this property reinforces Hilton's lofty reputation.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for our needs. There’s were plenty of restaurants in the area within walking distance too!

The room was clean and modern. They had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. They do not have free breakfast but the menu food on Saturday Morning was delicious and reasonably priced. The bar didn’t look like it had been open for a while. The lobby was nice and had a lot of sitting areas. The outside was a little rundown. The pool was small but more than enough for kids to play. The hot tub looked nice. I would stay here again if I didn’t have my daughter who uses a push wheelchair. It was very hard to get around Ybor due to it being an older area. The accessibility was horrible. We had a great time at this hotel and loved the Ybor roosters.

Hello Bathroom wasn’t the cleanest and prices for snack store is to high! My Front Desk Checkin Person is awesome!

This hotel is less than 10 minutes from the Tampa cruise port, making it a perfect choice for cruisers. They offer a pay as you go breakfast menu. I ordered the Greek yogurt bowl, and it very good. The staff at the desk was helpful, and the housekeeping team was friendly.

Aside from that, fridge was broken and leaking but it was addressed promptly by replacing with a new one. Staff were nice.

Only stayed for a night but it was so nice to have a clean room and soft bed to lay in.

Overall, the property was great. Perfect location for the event I was attending but this location doesn't have enough parking space to accommodate all guest.

Room was clean and very comfortable. Service at the breakfast restaurant was really slow but only tried it once so maybe just an off day. Definitely recommend this property.

The location was great! The staff was less than friendly and seemed annoyed at check in. We booked a 2 queen suite (with couch sitting area) and were given a standard queen room. We were told that it was booked 3rd party & they couldn’t rectify the situation for us as there were no queen suites available. It was very frustrating.

We enjoyed everything about our stay except the bar. When we sat down, we were told that there was no food that evening (even though there was a bar menu on the table). Next, we were told that there was only one red and one white wine available and only one kind of beer. It was disappointing since we were planning on an appetizer or light dinner in the hotel. The young man working was very nice, but the severe lack of choices was off-putting.

The AC controls are dated and don’t work correctly. The Elevator is an issue 1 Elevator that’s very dated and makes a noise and shakes.

I was so disappointed because I tried to take a hot bath this morning and the water was not even lukewarm so I shivered in the bathtub so frustrated. And it even took over 15 to 20 minutes for the bathtub to even fill up a quarter of a way. This is not typical of a Hilton so I was quite disappointed.

Bar closed. Restaurant closed. Hair in bathroom sink. Brown liquid on bathroom floor and sink. I’m handicap and don’t have a car here. Had to walk blocks for food. Breakfast was meek. Fruit had MOLD on it. No coffee creamer at breakfast. In room Keurig but 3 green tea and 1 decaf coffee. WHO WANTS THAT IN THE MORNING? Maybe 1% of guests. Terrible stay.

The bed was very uncomfortable, there was no heat & the temperature got to the 30's. We were in a room right by the elevator during iff season & housekeeping showed up at 9am when checkout was for noon. On a good note, our car wouldn't start the next day because of the freeze & they let us hang out in the lobby while we waited for roadside assistance. They offered us coffee & bottles water while we were waiting.

There was a condom wrapper stuffed in the table between the beds. I understand how it could’ve easily been missed, but there was a condom rapper on the table between the beds. Probably will not stay there again.

My extra pillows and towels were put in place as I asked before I arrived. The staff was so kind, each and every time I called. The one staff member that stuck out in my mind was anna anna is, and as said to hilton, she went over and beyond to see about me and my boyfriend and made sure that it was everything that I wanted, because it was our 1st year anniversary and first time coming to Ybor... Anna was so kind to us and the atmosphere she has there at that hill to miss, absolutely beautiful. I watched her as she worked and checking me in and handling other people.And she was just phenomenal. I don't know if you award.Your employees unnoticed them.But she does need a raise or some sort of incentive.Yeah, because she is asked some for your company.

When you book, the parking fee is not included. It's a substantial amount every day. I can't post it here but call them and ask how much it is. Be sure to take that into consideration when comparing to other hotels.

Air conditioning was not working

The Air Conditioning was not working in most of the hotel, it was very hot and hard to get good sleep. By the time I was checking out this seemed to have been resolved but it was hot throughout my stay.

Parking can be difficult in/out of place. Need QR code that isn’t in the email.

I appreciated that our room was on the first floor because I was traveling with 3 kids and they love to run and jump. The receptionist made kindly placed us on a floor that wouldn't bother anyone.

The hotel is amazing, clean, quiet, and staff is nice and helpful. I didn’t like the neighborhood that it’s in much (Ybor City) the streets were dirty and many restaurants were out of business limiting dining options.

About four days later, I have bites all over my legs. The doctor told me I got it from the hotel stay. Worst experience of my life. Totally overpriced hotel, not worth it!

The location is excellent for guests wanting convenience to area theme parks, attractions & night life. I didn’t like that hotel guests had to pay for parking the same as non-guests.

Staff was genuinely so amazing! The experience was top tier just due to the staff. The tv glitched and walls were so thin. But again your staff made it worth not even complaining about because why make it harder them. I’m sure the hotel needs its upgrading, but overall great.

I was awakened a lot after midnight with the drunks coming back to the hotel. The road outside window had lots of noisy drunks leaving Ibor main drag.

While the staff was fantastic, friendly, quick and efficient and everything was clean. ..the room was dark and gloomy, the A/C is loud. The bar and restaurant were not open in the evening as advertised.Things you can’t really change but effected our stay traffic noise, small pool filled with obnoxious rednecks that drank ALOT but only one of them ever got out to pee. GROSS! Needless to say we didn’t get in the water and we were looking forward to it.

The initial room was odorous and the staff moved us to another room which was clean and cozy. There was coffee and hot water for tea available in the lobby and an optional paid breakfast in the am. Unfortunately, our stay was interrupted by another couple's altercation that required the local police. The pool was closed by 8 pm and the whirlpool was never functioning during our stay.

Property and surrounding areas were ok

Parking is additional $30 per night and the continental breakfast is $10 per person. These additional fees are a joke when they’re already charging $250 a night. Needless to say, we will be staying at different hotel next year when we are back in Ybor.

A parking fee of $30 per night is a scam since you are already paying for the stay. We will not be recommending this stay to others.

Unfortunately my sleep was ruined twice by housekeeping, who decided on checkout today… When checkout is at 12 pm… To knock at 9 am, and 11 am, to clean the room. Housekeeping shouldn't be knocking at all on the day of departure. Would be a better rating if it wasn't for this.

This property is ideally located to great dining options and party options and cigars and so many good things. I did not move my car for the weekend. We were able to walk everywhere. Whenever we want to come to Ybor city, we stay here. Melissa at the front desk was awesome! She is a keeper.

I was upset to discover that there was an additional $35 charge for parking. The desk clerk assured me this was on their web site. Maybe so , but it seems incredibly deceptive to me, and I can’t help but feel taken advantage of. If they want to charge me for parking, this should be built into the room fee , not offered as an add on at check in.

I reserved a specific room and was not given the room I paid for. They blamed it on Expedia and they said they were fully booked so we had to relocate to a different property. I pointed out to the girl at the front desk that I paid for the much larger room and she refused to give it to us. I’ve stayed here many times as we have family that lives nearby but I will never come back to this hotel

This property gave us a very dirty room that had bugs. After showing photos, they gave us a room half the size of the one we paid for without a discount. This room was also disgusting & we have photos of that too. We were told to email a manager & they'd take care of it. The mgr said they were sorry but they couldn't do anything else for us because we booked through Expedia. Do not book this disgusting property unless you like sleeping with bugs on dirty beds.

The guest services were very friendly and accommodating on our arrival & day of return from cruise. Gave us great recommendations for dining, things to do & taxi. Definitely would stay there again.

Stay was fine, but they nickel and dime you, $Hap33.00 for parking on the property, that was a first, not even the Ritz pulls that. The air conditioner was not working properly, very high fan speed and super noisy.

I’m still in awe. The team at Hilton Garden Inn was nothing short of amazing. The trip was for my wife and I to celebrate her birthday. Melissa and her team went above and beyond to surprise my wife for her day. The hotel was clean, close to everything that we wanted to do, and just overall welcoming. We even have to shout out the young lady who was there with Melissa (apologies for not getting your name) for explaining the trolley system to us and the overnight attendant (called herself mama Dereon, i probably misspelled the name) for jumping in to assist with a medical situation. I recommend you stay here for the customer service alone!

Perfect location. Walkable for everywhere in Ybor and the streetcar to Downtown. Comfortable bed and good shower. Easy parking. Good value breakfast. Only negatives were the $30 per day to park in the hotel’s own car park, it was not as quiet as hoped for, and no kettle or safe in room.

I always love this hotel but was disappointed this last time. The beds we booked were queens and they only had doubles. We tried to get breakfast and there is a $10 charge that doesn’t even include anything hot. Definitely a scam

We loved the location! Very walkable to night life, museums and more. Minutes to the highway. Great staff as well. Our room was a bit run down and had plumbing issues though.

This property has unforgiving cancellation/rescheduling policies that made it impossible to enjoy the stay. Will simply go elsewhere next time.

charging for continental breakfast is very unusual for me. I stay in a lot of hotels and Continental breakfast is usually free.

I have stayed at this property a few times and now they are charging $30 a day for parking plus fees this hotel ended up costing $68 more for the night because we had two cars and we were not aware we had to pay for parking which we never had to pay for in the past
