Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its convenient location, cleanliness, and retro vibe. However, some guests have complained about thin walls, poor breakfast options, and outdated facilities.

He then moved us to another room, but while there were no live bed bugs visible, there were dead bed bugs in that room as well. We were understandably uncomfortable staying there, and the employee seemed irritated that we would not accept the second room. We were told we would receive a refund, and the manager even confirmed through Hotels.com messages two days later that a refund would be issued. Despite that, the hotel has now refused to refund us. The condition of the rooms combined with the way we were treated was completely unacceptable. Do not waste your time or money staying here.

It was a stop over stay to split a long drive, was big room, easy check in, clean, bathroom newly reburb and great shower. Was very quiet and suited needs for one night.

Property is very aged. Bed was good, rest of the furniture was beat up. No amenities at this hotel - zero. No breakfast, no coffee even at 7 AM. Don't bring your spouse here. Free parking, a solid bed, shower - that is the only positives about this place. Way overpriced for what you get.
- 4/5
Cons: No breakfast, Dingy old bathroom washcloth, bath mat and one of the 2 towels provided. Glad we travelled with our own. Comforter was stiff and uncomfortable. Non-working hair dryer and storage drawers were a disaster in not closing or opening properly.

Clean room with clean floors! The bathroom was spotless. It’s a 60’s era motel updated with a modern shower, sink and toilet. The room has a varnished wood lath ceiling — very safe place to stay, close to universities and FL Memorial Hospital. Courteous and friendly management.

Very helpful and kind at check-in . Clean room with very clean, rugless floor , comfie bed , refrigerator , microwave , hairdryer. We went in a very cold spell and the room heater worked very well and our room was toasty. Coffee maker in room , but I preferred the brewed coffee at 7 am in lobby with powdered creamer . Easy parking motel- style by your hotel room door . Clean towels . Restaurants close by including a delicious Indian restaurant and Italian and Mexican that we did not try. Plus a food Co-op ( non-members welcome to shop for prepared foods ). Only note: take a short shower , the hot water runs out , and bring Kleenex if u like them . Excellent value if u get a good price .

The parking entrance/exits are so steep one can rip the under carriage of their car out if they aren't careful and going 5MPH inching forward on an angle. It was $280 for one night, the towels are pathetically thin, the floor in the bathroom was dirty, the ancient soda machine only takes coins, no breakfast, and the traffic noise is significant. On Hotels.com, this hotel advertises pricing at $50 per night. That is about what it's worth, but not what it was priced at 11/14/2025. Grossly overpriced for what it is, even with the reno and a fresh paint job. NEVER AGAIN.

It was ok for the one night stay. Customer service is not what they worried about here. I'll just leave that there but the room was VERY out-dated. The bathroom was great! The bed and the single chair in the room from "1970" was weird. The chair didn't recline. Not being boogie but it looked and was old! I shouldn't have expected it to recline as the first one made! It had no cushion in the seat. I sat down and got up immediately as I thought I might fall through it. It had a cig burn on the left arm...why wouldnt that chair have been changed out? I took before and after pics as I always do. The metal "band" around/under the bed was new. You walk up like normal to put stuff on the bed and "bang"! Your toes are assaulted lol. Seriously! First hotel I've seen it. Quick layover- good. More than one night- no.

The place is clean but there was a couple next door doing god knows what until 2am music so loud and yet I could hear their noises over the music and they were crushing the bed against my bed wall. I placed a noise complaint but the hotel is not staffed overnight. I don’t think I’ll be staying here again. I definitively will ensure there’s 24h staff next place I stay at

I came from a hotel next door with bugs in the room so this was a step up. The bathroom is great. Decently comfortable bed. In room fridge and coffee on the morning. I checked in very late (around 11:45pm) and was put in a room next to the front desk. It smelled very damp and like mildew. I could hear the person next to me talking on the phone and listening to the tv. I asked to move rooms and told the man at the front desk my 2 issues, and he raised his eyebrows and booked the room on the direct other side of the loud guest. The second room did not have a smell, which was nice, but still had the loud guest on the other side. I was so uncomfortable from the last hotel I came from that I was scared to sleep in the sheets, so would up grabbing a blanket from my car and sleeping on top of the sheets. Wound up checking out a day early.

The receptionists were very helpful, got me into a smoke-free room at the same price, even though it was supposed to cost more. And I forgot my chargers at the hotel at checkout day, and I cam back at 11:30 and the lady had them for me at the desk! And a side note, the bathrooms are quite clean for a sketchy looking hotel!

Despite the motel advertising that it had a generator, I learned upon check-in that this was not the case. Additionally, I was surprised to find that an extra $50 was held for each room as a deposit, even though I had already paid for the rooms through Expedia. While the motel was packed and there was minimal noise, we were fortunate to avoid power outages as Hurricane Helen passed over our area with minimal damage. However, the lack of a generator was a significant oversight, especially given the circumstances. The rooms themselves also require more investment. The bathroom lights and exhaust fan buzzed loudly, forcing me to turn them off completely. The bathroom drawers were not installed properly, and only one of the two rooms had a coffee maker. Due to these issues, I will not be booking this motel again for emergency situations like hurricanes. I hope that the management will take these concerns into consideration and make the necessary improvements to provide a better experience for future guests.

We brought our own bed sheets and pillows to be safe but there’s honestly look stylish and clean. this place shocked us with how great it was! We paid $800 for family weekend but had a great stay. Parked right up front, bathrooms are newly renovated and clean. Floors are laminate so you don’t have to worry about gross carpet and room was cool and minimally musky. Def bring your own sheets and comforter but it’s a good stay. We walked everywhere. Went to the game, 5 miles round trip

This will please you if you're looking for a budget night (or even two) visiting briefly or traveling through town and you don't mind things being a little bit scuffed and run down here and there. Probably not so great if you're looking to wow your other half with a romantic getaway or are expecting luxury or chain hotel levels of polish. Rooms aren't that big and are fairly dark but then you're not going to be spending all day in there are you? Also, there is a large and beautiful park just behind the hotel with a completely gorgeous outdoor public pool which opens at 7am. Seriously - walk 10 mins, pay $4 and your doing lengths in a heated pool with park views. A few restaurants nearby and more beyond the park which are walkable (seems unusual in a v. unwalkable city). I didn't try to cross the road to the north though and there don't seem to be any crossings so if you don't have a car or nerves of steel you, like me will probably never sample the delights of the Miller's Ale House across the road.

I stayed on the first floor (or ground floor). The view from the hotel window was a small hill with dirty water flooding on the bottom of the hill. The room was dark.. very dark.. it did not have coffee maker, and when I asked, the man in the charge said that some room has and some room doesn.. ha!? But they gave me one, anyway. Do not stay on the first floor. Second floor is better. The one signle bed room has a small sink in the bathroom which does not have enough room to put your toiletrery and tooth brush and etc. The coffee at breakfast was awful. They did not simply put enough groudner coffee but a lot of water. I am not recommneding to stay here if you want to enjoy beautiful town.

Older hotel in a convenient location. Room was spacious and very clean. The bed was firmer than my liking, but in excellent condition. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of. It was a FSU game weekend, we paid a premium on the rooms, so the value wasn’t there, but that’s capitalism.

The hotel looks pretty sad from the outside. Exterior lights blinking, no windows on the entry side of the units. The units however are very nice the bathrooms are updated and the beds are comfortable albiet small.

The front desk associate was very helpful and courteous. We had some paint peeling in our room which we notified the front desk to make sure we weren’t charged for damages and no problems there. Unfortunately, the sheets on one bed had a small stain, but overall pretty clean and served it’s purpose.

Dimly lit, musty smell, dirty, old toiletries, only the one mirror in the bathroom made it challenging to have both of us get ready. The gentleman at the counter was helpful when the toilet overflowed. Plus, it is close to downtown. Needs updating.

Ok as last resort for FSU game, but no one would stay if better choice available. Pricing about 5x what it should be. Good location but owner does not want to invest above that. Property has seen better days. AC did not work. External property lights blinking. Clean enough but not outstanding.

It's an old property, but has been updated. It had a rain shower head which you usually don't see. It had a microwave and a frig which sometimes you don't have in Marriott or Hilton properties in Tallahassee. Price was excellent. Location is central.

Outside looks a little rough, but the room was recently re-done and it was nice and clean. Lady that checked us in was very nice. It’s not fancy, but had what we needed.

Light in the parking lot was great. The area is peaceful. I could enjoy the nature during the weekend.

I checked in on Friday and the attendant didn't know how to handle prepaid expedia reservations. other than that it was again fine for what i needed.

Pleasant surprise. Clean motel room with fridge and microwave. Location is great and very walkable. Check in was super easy. Room seems newly renovated.

Property was recently renovated, is rather upscale for an Econolodge, and was very clean.

The Outside of the Motel isn't much to write home about, however the room was really nice. Very clean and decorated nicely. The bed king size bed was comfortable along with the pillows. The Bathroom is updated with a very nice walk in shower with a large "rain maker" shower head. The room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker along with a small desk and small couch. The included continental breakfast was just cereal and bagels, however there are multiple locations nearby to grab breakfast. For the price, this place would be very hard to beat.

The location was convenient near FAMU and near a lot restaurants to eat.

This hotel definitely deserves a 5 star rating for what I paid for! I checked in quick and the room was so clean. No loud noises and I didn’t have no problems checking out. I will 100% check into this hotel again if I go back to Tallahassee

A no-frills hotel in a great location! We stayed for 2 nights and couldn’t have been happier with our choice, the price was low and the location was perfect. The only downfall was the wifi sucked. Cascades park is within walking distance with great restaurants and bars surrounding. Highly suggest checking out the Edison and Charlie park

The mid-century modern architecture was fabulous! The updates to the room were well blended and preserved the original construction. The staff was accommodating, and the property was well kept. The included breakfast was minimal.

I didn't expect much overall for the price. The room was as expected basic motel, but I have a couple of complaints first my room smelled horrible. Like cigarettes and armpits, we had to go buy plugins to stay there. And then no large towels which is not a big deal we went to the front to get what we needed but then housekeeping came and took them out when they were placed on the desk folded and clearly not used and didn't replace them. Also, the curtains were disgusting and stained and should be replaced. Remodeling in the bathroom doesn't make sense when the curtains look like a crime scene.

Unfriendly staff No ironing board Shower curtain is cheap and water gets all over the floor Very outdated decor Dirty windows Lobby smelled so bad that we didn’t even think of having the breakfast there Ice machine & laundry are in the parking lot Save yourself the frustration & money by not staying here. You’re better off going to the Motel 6 up the road or any other hotel in Tallahassee.

My stay was good. My visit was for a football game weekend and visiting my son. The outside of the hotel isn't much to look at, but the room was fine for my purposes, nothing fancy...just used as a place to sleep.

Great little family owned hotel. Easy check in and friendly staff. Don’t let the exterior of the hotel fool you. It doesn’t seem to have been updated but the interior rooms are completely remodeled and extremely clean. Very quiet and safe location. Easy to get in and out of with food nearby.

Because this was the last affordable hotel available on Family Weekend (FSU) in Tallahassee, we had some worry about the quality of the establishment -- but everything was pleasantly surprising. Very clean, quiet, comfortable -- and the management was very friendly and kind.

The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable.

Nice place with easy access to room from parking. Nice people.
- 3/5
Plain old motel, no extras, office staff rude.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with food option close. I ride motorcycle so the coutyard parking helps me sleep better at night. No one can see the bike from the main road.
- 5/5
Rooms are getting renovated which is nice for low cost and working on outside kudos to owners its tough to find contractors that work.
- 4/5
There aren't really any amenities though outside washing machines was a surprise! It's a convenient location for Tallahassee, go to World of Beers next door for dinner if lively, well run bars is your thing. Mostly the annoyance is that for the hotel it was overpriced but that's everything right now.

This was a nice, affordable hotel on our way back from south-central Florida to Texas. It felt safe and provided everything we needed for a quick nights stay. They are slowly remodeling the rooms and the new upgraded bathroom was very nice.

Arrived to check in about 6pm. The property was well maintained. There was work being done on some rooms. The room was clean. Comfortable beds. Ice machine & vending machines. Some traffic noise. Overall it was a good experience.

My stay was good. The outside isn't much to look at, but my room was nice and clean. I was mainly only there only to sleep at night. It's location is great as it is only a few minutes away from the university so, I found it convenient and a good value.

I rarely spend time in my hotel rooms. They are a place to sleep while traveling. I really enjoyed my stay for all the right reasons -- my room was immaculate, the internet connection was speedy, DirecTV with 100 channels, super convenient location. If amenities are important, there are few and you should book another hotel. The property is older, but again, very clean, and the staff were friendly.
