Reasonable breakfast selection including hot items and the location was ideal for using the Interstate 5. Good selection of nearby restaurants. The pool was out of action although we were no planning on using it as we were out all day when we stayed there.

Since the last time I stayed there, they have changed some things. We have individual coffee machines, which is really good.Because the old ones were kind of gross. The staff gave me a thank you letter in an envelope with the candy bar in it. And that was very nice. And lots of coffee available at all times.

The interior of the property was clean and staff very helpful. Had a problem with a light not working in the hotel room and maintenance was called to fix. He fixed the problem, we thought but when we turned the light on, it flickered so the guests before us no doubt simply unplugged the LED cable and it continued to be a problem. Not a huge deal but a light would have helped in an area that it was needed. Staff very accommodating. There was however, issue with the exterior: The key pad mechanism was broken so you could not access the hotel with a key card from the outside. Also, the parking area did not seem secure. Homeless people would yell at us when we were going to our vehicle. There was an empty building sharing the parking lot so it gave an invite to people who should not be there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again, especially if the parking lot is safer.

Unfortunately, water started leaking from the ceiling in the shower, coming from the shower in the floor above. It was clear there had already been a recent patch job to deal with a prior water leak. There was also mold showing through the paint on the ceiling in the bathroom and the pillow cases were not white, but yellowed. They were clean but showing age/wear.

The room had a lot of issues. I stayed four nights and the room only was cleaned once. A few of the room amenities didn't work and there was no effort to get them fixed. It was a bummer. The bed was fantastic. Moving forward I wouldn't stay at this hotel in the future

Exactly what we needed for a 1 night stay in Tacoma. Clean and comfortable, decent free breakfast and parking. The pool was closed which I was a little annoyed that we got a non refundable room and then a message afterwards saying it was closed, but all all in all good value for the room

They wouldn’t let us sit in the lobby or at the tables and visit. Couldn’t use the pool, closed. They left a garbage bag for us to help them clean before we check out. They were not very friendly at the front desk. We actually went to a different hotel where they allowed us to spend time together with our small group. With the pool closed you would think they’d let us use the space…

The room was great but the day front counter lady was not friendly and when I would ask a question she acted like I was inconsiderate for asking and same with the manager I asked her about why the pool was closed and she never apologized and acted like I was being inconsiderate to her. I was there over a week and was there over Lavern day weekend and the pool was closed the whole time I was there

Nice property and was clean. However when I got to my room the toilet was broken and no tv remote. I had already unpacked everything and their maintenance person was already gone for the day so I had to change rooms. Needless to say not the best thing right after you check in but the staff was very nice. Overall a good stay

Our family booked three separate suites and enjoyed our stay

The hotel was surface level clean. Everything felt very dingy and the hotel itself was humid and sticky. Our bathroom, while looked newly renovated was not the cleanest and there were literal tiles falling off the side of the wall. There were also people smoking cigarettes on our floor, it wasn’t addressed by staff, and therefore my newborn and 3 year old were exposed to second hand smoke. The best part about the stay, was checking out.

The stay was ok, the area has great food choices and most are within walking distance. My only issue was during check in. I have an online bank and the hotel wouldn’t accept my card for the security deposit. I was traveling far and it was my only card. I paid for my reservation in advance and the woman at the counter told me to cancel my reservation which would’ve left me stranded on my vacation. This is the only hotel I’ve stayed that didn’t accept my card, I’ve never had any issues. Luckily I was visiting family and they had to go out of their way to help me. So while the stay was ok I probably wouldn’t be booking at any more holiday inn hotels

Our room had a view to the parking lot …?and you can hear a lot even when you never open the window. Omelette breakfast are awful but other things are OK. A lot of renovation is needed in the bathroom.

My stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tacoma was excellent overall. The room was clean, the environment was quiet, and the staff were professional and courteous. The only downside was the limited parking, especially challenging for larger vehicles like my pickup truck. Despite this, the quality of the stay outweighed the inconvenience. I would recommend this hotel and plan to return when visiting Tacoma.

While in our room, my family and I experienced an inappropriate and hostile interaction from another guest. Someone called our room and aggressively told us to "shut the f*** up." This was followed by loud banging on our wall. At the time, my husband was simply playing with our two young children. If there were any concerns about noise, a respectful approach would have been appreciated. Additionally, during our time at the pool, my daughter and I were shocked to discover feces on the side of the area near the hot tub. We had been there for nearly two hours and only noticed it shortly before leaving. This raises serious concerns about the pool’s cleanliness and monitoring, particularly for families with small children.

Average hotel experience. It was nice to have parking at the hotel, yet it would’ve been better if there was a walkway to the front lobby, instead you have to walk all the way around other cars or between cars, and over some dirt. It’s easy in and out, and the check in was easy. The area is not the best but doesn’t feel unsafe.

Carpet was soaking wet and they didn’t have another suite to move us. They didn’t even offer a discount so had to walk in the soaking wet carpet.

Driving for many hours to our destination, we decided to take a break and take our chances with this hotel. We didn’t miss! The beds were super comfy, huge shower and space to hang out belongings was a plus. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The walls are very thin, and we heard the people walking around above us as if it was a herd of elephants.

Very noisy inside and on the outside. I cojld hear all the noise from outside with windows closed. And on the inside, other people were banging on the doors all night long, slamming the doors, yelling and worker in the hotel didn't do anything about it.

People were super loud and fighting in the hallway all night. Elevator was super slow and the room was too bright even with the blackout shades.

It was very noisy even after 10 pm. Children running up and down the hall, yelling and jumping on the floor above us, most of the night.

It is in Tacoma, so was happy to see keycard activated elevator, as well as the after hours front door. Breakfast was excellent, and expansive, with lots of options. Our room was clean and fresh.

This looks nothing like the pictures. Dirty, extremely noisy. Our tv was broken, the breakfast was so gross you couldn’t eat it. There were rats outside. The area was extremely unsafe. Trash all over parking lot. Gross….. never ever stay here.

The reservation was for 2 adjoining rooms. When we got there they were “booked” on the rooms we reserved. Split the party up on separate floors. When we finally got them to put us together it was on the 3rd floor in rooms near one another. Never again.

We had a quiet room in the hotel. But the pool and Jacuzzi didn't work. Mattresses on beds are not very comfortable unfortunately, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably.

There was a building that was being worked on. Not a lot of parking, it was hard to get in and out of the driveway.

There was no cable while we were there, which they called to tell me the day before. The hot tub jets didn't work and there were no pool towels. The breakfast was typical Continental style breakfast, but it was decent. The beds were comfortable.

Parking is not great, limited spots. Building next to hotel is abandoned. Cars were broken into during the stay, sketchy people around. Holiday inn literally across the street up one block was great, according to others in our party who chose not to stay at this one. Upon arrival was told cable is out, no tv at all. Lobby is small. Hotel was alright until last day. Receptionist stated the hot tub was closed bc there was something in it. Someone pooped in the pool and there was no urgency to clean it up. My girls swam in the pool for one hour, not one employee came into the area o start cleaning the poop up. I will not be staying at this hotel again. Poor decision on my end.

My car was broken into in the middle of the parking lot of this hotel. Incredibly sketchy and the staff were not helpful or sympathetic.

The jacuzzi had too much chlorine it was burning the eyes.

Probably the best hotel i've ever stayed at in my life and i've stayed at very nice hotels before. Clean room & large room that had everything we needed for a 7 day stay. Yep, Tacoma sucks and the Hotel is not in a great location (crime, homeless, etc) but the parking lot is fenced in. But only one way in and out and its right next to a intersection so, super unsafe to just get in and out of the parking lot. Nobody's fault but its a problem in my opnion. But the hotel, staff and everything else was awesome

This is our second time here and we had a great stay.

Depending on time of day, staff is rude. Night staff at check in was rude, day staff was super sweet! TV has cable, but only worked half the time. Room smelled and looked very clean so if you’re not staying for long and don’t care to enjoy a movie then it’s worth the price.

The parking was very very tight

Our power was out due to the storm so we needed a warm place with electricity for a night. It was a nice place to stay for my family. The pool/hot tub was nice but the ground gets super slippery. Breakfast was okay, not the best but it was nice with plenty of options. The view from our window was just garbage everywhere but it’s expected for Tacoma. Price was decent for a last minute visit.

The bed was uncomfortable, the neighborhood didn’t seem safe, poor breakfast, trash bags in the corridor were since we checked in till we checked out.

Price, clean, comfortable, great breakfast. Noisy kids in hall late night and in early a.m. ordered room service. Food was good but no utensils or napkins! They told us essentially to get our own. Pretty ezpensive to end up eating with our hands!

What I liked about this property was it was very clean the breakfast was good no complaints about the room or the hotel per se, my only complaint here would be the hiccup of me coming two and a half hours out of town to this hotel and forgetting my ID would have been a complete nightmare but the front desk lady helped me out because I had a third party looking from Expedia and she suggested to me that I call them and ask them to switch the reservation name to my girlfriend's name who remembered her ID. The process was inconvenient, but not as inconvenient as not being able to check in when I'm 3 hours out of town for my kids football game. I can't remember the front desk lady name but she was very helpful despite the inconvenience I unfortunately brought upon myself by forgetting my ID. Also the parking was kind of packed but I think the hotel was full and I still found parking so it wasn't that bad honestly that's why I give this four stars but it honestly should be five stars because this isn't a bad hotel at all I even got to swim past the time the pool closes so that was a big plus for the kids. Front desk also has some delicious cookies

The elevators were broken and that was never explained to us prior to arriving. My elderly sister had a very hard time maneuvering the stairs. There was no discount offered. Then there was a lohd party on the third floor that kept some of our party up until 4am in the morning.

Front staff, breakfast staff and housekeeper are friendly and have good customer service. Love that the hotel entrance and even the elevator is secure and no one can enter without a key card. There was a notice to swipe our key card in order to go up to our floor and for some reason we missed reading it. 😂 Breakfast was a plus having a buffet breakfast compare to the other hotels.
