Check in: no problem there, normal stuff...BUT the room we were given was absolutely gross! Hair in the bathroom (sink, floor, toilet) carpet bunched up and DIRTY!, kick plate around the beds were filthy, the window was so sun damaged that it was opaque and you could only see thru parts of it. Nicks, scrapes and gouges in the wood work..etc..Needless to say, we requested another room. 2nd room was cleaner, but the tub was worn out with stains all over it, the sink basin was the smallest I've ever seen!, and wood work was still beat up, over all, the room was in need of a facelift! I paid for a deluxe suite, what I got was a large room with 2 queens and a worn out hide a bed. We requested a wake up call...didn't happen! Luckily my phone alarm worked! Wanted the free coffee to find out the only coffee "free" was the room "pods" (the absolute worst truck stop style!) (altho the staff did begrudgingly make me a espresso .it wasn't because he wanted to!..I just whined alot) All coffee except room pods co$t. There are no free amenities! There was only one bottle of water in the room and it was $6. I thought we were to get free breakfast, but despite paying nearly $350 a night for the room, we were informed that we hadn't purchased the correct package. A Manhatten and a "mule" cost $37. NO views! I really would prefer to have my money back. It was a horrible place to stay.
- 2/5
Very disappointed with spending $600 on a two day stay and it feel like a $50 a night place. Valet and housekeeping staff were great though.
- 5/5
No issues, but surprisingly pricey (almost $500 a night when I visited).
- 5/5
Great property!
- 4/5
The staff were all great. I wish they still had their pool.

Our dead bolt lock on our door was broken/jammed. The door for the refrigerator and microwave is broken and wouldn’t close. Clean, friendly, a nice quiet boutique hotel. Nice to have the microwave available in room. Beds are comfortable.

Great location. Friendly staff
- 3/5
Location was great for the dance convention Staff at the restaurant was very rude. We ran out of toilet paper on our last day and requested more but never received and had to get some from another friend at the hotel.

Great staff and wonderful atmosphere!!
- 5/5
The Bistro in the lobby of the hotel had excellent meal options, as well as wine and cocktail options. The setting is lovely, great location, down the street is Museum Row.
- 4/5
Good service and food for breakfast and dinner.

Nice place. Great breakfast
- 1/5
The hotel is good but the night was horrible. We booked the suite and the racing cars are so loud. The ac/heat vent is loud and dusty, my child coughed all night, couldn’t sleep well due to the noise of the street and he threw up the next day after breakfast.
- 5/5
Demetris and Jessica were the main reception staff that I interacted with and they were excellent to work with. Thank you!
- 2/5
The room needs a little more cleaning and the staff more training to know when we ask questions. I had to find another staff to get the answers.
- 5/5
Every staff member was great! Super accommodating and supportive while we stayed in town while a family member was going through a medical emergency.
- 5/5
Si tienes k ir al Tacoma Convention Center este hotel es el ideal en ubicación.
- 5/5
Definitely one of the nicer courtyards we have visited
- 5/5
Food was a little limited but was fresh and well prepared
- 4.5/5
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. In particular, a housekeeping staff member named Maria was especially kind; she stopped what she was doing to assist me with my inquiry. Also, it was nice that there was a small shop next to the front desk where you could buy snacks and drinks. I understand that the Marriott chain’s support center is separate from Courtyard Tacoma Downtown itself, so I know it’s not this hotel’s fault, but the Marriott's support team just won’t respond. I tried to contact them via chat and email to inquire about early check-in, but they simply ignored me. In the end, a Booking.com support staff member called the hotel and got an answer for me, but if they hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have gotten an answer and would have remained anxious.

Clean room, friendly staff.

Disappointing
- 4.5/5
The environment was pleasant and clean. The access to the property was a bit difficult to find, drove past the entrance a few times. And parking was a little odd but nice that it was off the street.

We were able to walk to the dome & there were great food options nearby. We had to pay for parking.

I chose this hotel mainly for its location, but overall the stay was disappointing. The air conditioning made a constant whirring noise whenever it was on, which made it hard to relax. The pillows were flat and flimsy, and the provided toiletries were empty upon arrival. Even the microwave was unusually loud when in use. Unfortunately, the rooms are not well soundproofed—we could clearly hear our neighbors arguing through the walls. I expected a higher standard of comfort and quality for the price and brand reputation, but this stay did not meet those expectations.
- 5/5
Clean and centrally located
- 5/5
The staff was so helpful
- 5/5
The staff was outstanding customer service was amazing and the room was very clean. Our stay was very pleasant and sweet loved it. Thank you!
- 5/5
it was nice
- 5/5
Rooms were large, clean. Had fridge and microwave, close to where we needed to go while visiting Tacoma. Staff was kind and helpful. Only down side was restaurant not being open at certain times.

Exceptional
- 5/5
The staff is really great and the bed is quite comfortable. You really can’t beat the location if you’re working downtown or attending an event at the convention center.
- 2/5
The location was central, to so many things. The lotion in the bathroom was completely empty upside down when I arrived. The pillows smelled like men's body odor, they were disgusting. To the point that I was sleeping without them, the smell was on the bed and woke me up. The framing on the door that led to the refrigerator and microwave was coming off.
- 5/5
Everything was great! Location and staff were excellent.
- 4.5/5
The closeness to the venue and comfortable mess of the beds My conditioner and shampoo were empty

Would have been all 5's if not for GPS taking me to the back of the hotel, confusing getting to the front, and the garage parking was confusing with 2 Marriotts right next to each other. All the time spent trying to figure out how to just get into the hotel caused me to be late to my event. Also breakfast was painful with not being able to order lunch at the stated time on the menu, we called ahead to order but still had to wait for them to start cooking when we went to pick it up because they didn't ask for the room number, eggs were cooked incorrectly, the cook left so couldn't initially fix the eggs yet we were still charged for them, and the bill was over-priced for what we got. Nice hotel, I would stay here again knowing what I know now about the parking and food.
- 5/5
The room is very clean and the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful
- 5/5
This location was absolutely prime for my New Years Eve night. I was worried at first having a room next to the elevator, but it ended up being no problem at all. I didn’t hear anything in regard to the elevator or foot traffic. Everything was clean and cozy.
- 5/5
Excellent staff, spotless and comfortable room, good food and drinks
- 5/5
We were very comfortable and the room had a nice view of the city and the moubtain.

Room was comfortable & very clean!

The main reason though for only 3 stars was the bistro. The Bistro is on the ground floor and seems to have a great menu. My friend and I were in town for a concert and decided it might be a better choice for a quick/simple meal at the bistro before hoping on the Link Train to get to the Tacoma dome. We had a little over an hour so we thought we were fine. It was expensive! $72 for 2 people (Cobb salad and Grilled Cheese/Tomato soup, which we planned to split both between us). We got one soda, a small side of fries, and two of their small cheesecake that's about half the size of a regular (small) piece you'd get at a restaurant. Anyways, we waited OVER AN HOUR. By that time we were late to get on the train, and we had to ASK about our food and wait 10 mins more before they brought it. When they brought it they forgot the drink, the fries AND the cheesecake. We SCARFED it down as fast as we could, which led to indigestion for me, and then had to wait longer to get our cheesecake in a to-go bag, and then I had to wait by the counter and ask twice in order to get the fries which we ended up giving to a stranger in the end cuz they were bland. The next morning my friend ordered breakfast and even though they gave her a number for her table, she had to ask about the coffee and it had just been left on the counter.
- 5/5
Room was old but clean. Very spacious which we loved. Would definitely stay there again. The location was perfect for walking.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 3/5
Was ok
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff were friendly.
- 5/5
Clean modern room, great layout, big bathroom, comfortable, cheap valet!
- 4/5
Very pleased with the clean rooms. The staff and just a little disappointed that there was a better option for coffee before 6:300 am.
- 5/5
Quiet
- 5/5
Staff are great and made sure we got the room we wanted
- 5/5
The bistro bar had excellent food
- 5/5
Wish parking was closer, but wasnt too much of an issue.
- 5/5
The staff is exceptional. We will go back to Courtyard in Tacoma Downtown in the future.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 5/5
Stayed here for a concert at the Washington State Fair; the staff was great the rooms were so clean and quiet, great experience.
- 3/5

- 5/5
Close to family and venue for events
- 5/5
Large room.
- 5/5
Quiet and peaceful
- 5/5
Rooms are comfortable and clean! We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Jade provided excellent housekeeping services. She was always efficient, friendly and polite without ever overstepping boundaries. The front desk staff and valet were great. We got all of our questions answered accurately and promptly. Our car was always brought to the entrance within the time we requested. The Bistro staff were very friendly and efficient.
- 4/5
Hotel room was spacious and very nice. Coffee in the room was appreciated since we needed to wake up at 2 a.m. to catch an early flight! I didn't realize we were going to have to pay for parking at the convention center across the street. That should have been more clear in the description. Maybe it was and I didn't see it.
- 5/5
A great place to stay night before surgery. It was clean , quite, and close
- 4/5
Didn’t care for the supplied coffee and soaps.
- 5/5
Our stay was amazing!
- 5/5
The location is convenient and the rooms are comfortable and clean!
- 4/5
Nice property, friendly and caring staff; but WHY do they use cleaning/deodorizing products with horrible overwhelming chemical fragrances or perfumes?? Who needs that in their breathing air and bloodstream?
- 5/5
Great property. Great staff
- 4/5
Bathroom tub needed to be replaced.
- 5/5
Courtyard Tacoma Downtown was perfect for our family stay—clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The flexible spaces and convenient location made it easy to relax and explore. It fully delivered on Courtyard’s promise.
- 4/5
Toilet made loud random rushing water noise. Lid super loud w/no bumpers when closing
- 5/5
Stay was wonderful... walkable access to many places was a big plus
- 4/5
If breakfest bar was free, id give a 5 but the restaurant is cool i suppose. It is a gorgeous hotel.
- 5/5
Great location and service at bar was very good
- 4/5
Great place to stay! Only issue is how expensive the food items are, $6.07 for a drip coffee is a little absurd. The hotel food is actually more expensive than the Seattle airport prices.
- 5/5
Everything was great. I checked quick and easy with no hassle at all.
- 4/5
Excellent and large room. Only negatives were parking across the street, the sirens we heard throughout the night, and the toilet that kept running every other minute.
- 4/5
Great place except the parking
- 5/5
Just across from Tacoma Convention Center with many good restaurants within walking distance. Spotless room and friendly staff. Parking not that convenient though (uses parking lot across the street.)
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
The property itself is lovely. Staff were kind and helpful. The parking is a bit of a pain - across the street in a garage. You can opt for valet for an extra fee or just hoof it.
- 5/5
Great ambience, clean rooms, friendly staff
- 5/5
Everything was great except parking! And i was double charged for parking and not refunded!
- 3/5
No hot water for a shower on my last day.
- 4/5
The noise outside on the street was very load. The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was very soft.
- 5/5
staff was professional and friendly and the food was excellent
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
Walkable, posh
- 2/5
Doors clank when closed. Alarm was set for the middle of the night and hard to turn off. Pepsi machine made loud clanking at 5 AM for the parking garage area. There was an extra - hidden charge for parking. Distance from parking garage is difficult and far in the dark. People get ticketed if they park somewhere other than A lot - and sometimes the A lot is full if there are activities going on in the convention center. They didn't tell us about the fine when we first got there.
- 5/5
Great friendly staff, clean and accommodating. Bistro a great option. Enjoy!
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
When we arrived our room wasn’t ready and it was at least 2 hours after check in. That was disappointing. The front desk took us to the bar and got us a drink. Stay was wonderful. They denied our late check out, which was annoying since we had to check in late.
- 5/5
Great food, clean updated rooms

Great stay!
- 5/5
Great service
- 3/5
The location is amazing! However, I was in attendance for a conference and before I could make it back to my room for the lunch hour at 11:45am, which I had not checked out of, they had already cleaned the room and threw away my lunch. It was not cheap food! The staff was amazingly friendly! The conference room has a major flaw- it has an in room cooling system that has a very loud fan/motor when trying to hear the speaker.
- 1/5
Parking was a nightmare as its share with other hotel. Didn't get check in notice till 9 pm day of arrival. Room wasn't very clean, the ceiling is all stained, beds uncomfortable, noisy hotel, not friendly at check in
- 5/5
Close to UW
- 4/5
The stay was great. My room was well spaced and very nice. Unfortunately, the person in the room before me had a pet and the carpet was not vacuumed well. There was pet hair all over the floor at the foot and side of the bed. Also, a remnant of, what appears to be a sausage link, was found on the floor on the side of the desk when I was cleaning up the mess I made from balloons.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and big rooms. Super comfy!!!
- 5/5
Nicer newer Courtyard in the center of the arts district and Thea Foss Waterway. Great location.
- 5/5
I liked the valley I hate parking was very convenient to pay the fee. Made me feel stress free no having to worry about finding a parking space and or the safety of the car
- 5/5
This is a great place to see a show at Tacoma Dome.
- 4/5
Safety was my main concern for my family and I, this place was great.
- 5/5
Easy to get to Tacoma dome for concerts, lots of yummy places to eat like thai, tacos. Close to Dorky's for some arcade fun. Not far from the Courthouse which has beautiful Chihuly glass in it. Close to UW Tacoma campus, the Link and the freeway.
- 3/5
Parking is confusing and out of the way at another Marriott building lol. And the other one won’t let you park in their parking if you are staying at their other hotel lol. Honestly I’ll never stay their again. If I wanted to be confused I’ll stay in a Vegas hotel.
- 5/5
Super
- 4/5
Room coffee poor (weak--water). Downstairs paid starbucks $3 with free refills until 10 am. Parking $19 self park across street (could have parked there for $16) valet $29/day, in and out allowed.
- 5/5
After a long drive which started in California, this hotel was a great choice, fast check in/out, staff friendly, clean rooms and comfortable beds. If needed in the future I will definitely stay here again. Parking was a bit crowded but I was able to find a spot, besides that everything else was great
- 1/5
Bad service
- 4/5
Right by the convention center and a couple stops from the Dome. A little pricey but great
- 5/5
Excellent service, friendly and professional staff at the desk. Perfect location for attending the conference center, great parking, but has limited food options within walking distance.
- 4/5
No shops or good restaurants nearby because it is a very quiet area. Not
- 5/5
The hotel is well located, super quiet when you’re inside your room, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming with very dry toast, and bland eggs/ French toast. In the other hand the service and staff were fantastic. The quality of the food needs to raise to their level!
- 5/5
It was clean and we felt very comfortable

Excellent overall very comfortable great breakfast ❤️
- 4/5
Great place to stay
- 3/5
There was no help with our luggage. We are both in our late seventies and early eighties. Not what I expected from highly rated hotel.
- 5/5
Simple and convient.
- 5/5
Everyone on staff was so friendly, polite and helpful. From check-in to even passing staff members in the halls or elevators, we had great conversation. Bistro staff super amazing as well. This was a one night trip for a graduation that was directly across the street in the convention center. Loved that parking is easily accessible, rooms were very spacious and clean. Beds were very comfortable as well. But the shining stars are the staff, we wished we could stay longer. So we will book with them again.
- 5/5
Very comfortable. Nice gym! Not much for breakfast in the hotel.
- 4/5
Check in was quick and easy. Bar was nice.
- 5/5
Staff were extremely busy yet very friendly and professional
- 5/5

Great place
- 2/5
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years and this time I was disappointed by the state of the facility. I am a lifetime platinum rewards member and was not recognized upon check in. I was provided a handicap accessible room which I did not request nor did I need. The bed was worn and highly uncomfortable. The room was cleaned one time during my four night stay. Needless to say this was not what I have come to expect of Marriott.
- 5/5
We had an amazing time. This hotel was extremely clean and well staffed. The valet was friendly and convenient. I will definitely be back. Thank you!
- 5/5
Hotel was able to accommodate early check in. Clean room and love the dining option.
- 5/5
I’d stay there again. Very courteous and professional. Very helpful with personal requests.
- 2/5
I stayed here because we had a concert for our daughters and. We arrived at 2:50 they told us they were an hour behind on getting people checked in. After an hour I went to ask if any change nothing yet. So then on of the staff members a gal with glasses comes us to me calling me by someone else last name I said oh that’s not me then she follows by asking me what is my last name I tell her and she looks at me and says ma’am your last name I say again “I just said and repeat it” and looks at me like I’m stupid and asking me again and I said I just told you and then says can I see you ID I say no I’m not who you are looking for and she walks away. By 4 something one of the staff up front calls everyone who has been waiting to come up front I go up and the gal with the glasses doesn’t bother to help ignores me and I walk away as soon as someone else comes up she helps. By then I’m annoyed and just wanted to see how much longer she comes up to after a few mins and asks my last I tell her and then says I need you ID I tell her oh ok I gave them up front and rude as can be she tells me “I just need to check it’s you”. Finally getting our room I was charged for two nights when I was only supposed to be one night!
- 4/5
Wish there was s pool, and more complete menu in the restaurant
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. Great exercise facility.
- 5/5
It was a great hotel with convenient restaurant in the lobby
- 5/5
Always a great stay.
- 4/5
Its was convenient
- 5/5
Room was nice. Staff was friendly. Location was good.
- 4/5
Third time we’ve stayed there. We will be back.
- 3/5
Felt it was very expensive for a mediocre room. Valet service was excellent but again very expensive plus tipping. Nothing at all was included. The base price was very high but then it seemed a lot got added on. But I was paying for the convenience of walking across the street to the convention center and that was great access.
- 5/5
It was convenient and safe. Valet my car everyday and they were fast to get it when I needed it. Comfortable beds too.

Great
- 5/5
The room was luxurious and relaxing. I loved the view and the surrounding atmosphere. I felt cozy being high up in the downtown area.
- 5/5
All good!
- 5/5
Easy check in, parking is across the street but easily accessible. We op-ed out of valet but its only 3 more dollars if youd like. The pool and hot tub are closed. But the View and room size was perfect for our little getaway! No room service but the bistro was so good had dinner and breakfast there.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable and convenient. Definitely would come back!
- 3/5
The hotel was attractive, clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Dining options were very limited onsite and nearby. Cost of coffee and foods offered at cafe onsite was high.
- 5/5
Beautiful room!
- 1/5
worst hotel experience, they offer free wifi but charged us for data services, contact them they claimed we chose enhanced service instead of free, which we didn’t, but have no proof to fight for it, and they charge for parking which should be disclosed in their description. the $ amount is not a big deal, but the way their customer service handling it is terrible. Will never book that location ever again.
- 5/5
Awesome hotel on the water downtown. How much better than that does it get? Also the mattress was the best mattress ever! We had a great time in downtown Tacoma.
- 1/5
THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! DIRTY AND FOOD IS HORRIBLE!!! AND WHEN YOU COMPLAIN TO THE GM'S THEY DO NOTHING. THE DRILL YOU WILL QUESTIONS AND WASTE TIME AND THEN SAY - SORRY NOTHING WE CAN DO. HORRIBLE! DO NOT BOOK.
- 4/5
Friendly Staff
- 5/5
Accommodated my very early check-in time, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Convenient location. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming and jovial. Very comfortable and professional property.
- 5/5
Excellent location for museums and convention center. I would have liked a few more dinner options st the Bistro. Everyone was very nice!!
- 5/5
The property was clean and comfortable. The bistro had a limited menu but the food was delicious and the service was excellent. The desk clerk was remarkable--efficient, capable, friendly, helpful. The valet parking service was also excellent. All in all a very pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Staff waa friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and updated.

- 2/5
We spent several hours just trying to park and get into the hotel. We had to ask the staff about the breakfast that we paid for. We spent a lot of money for a hectic one night stay at this hotel.
- 5/5
My room was very big and spacious! I traveled with my family of 5 and we had more than enough space in our foom
- 5/5
This hotel was AMAZING!! It was in a great location and the staff was super friendly. I would definitely come back and stay.
- 5/5
It’s a little confusing that the Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott are right next to each other but don’t share a parking lot or other facilities. Courtyard is definitely a feels a little older and less upscale than the Marriott next door, and getting to and from car parking requires going up a hill. But the location is good, the rooms were clean. Overally a good experience.
- 4/5
The room was spacious, quiet and beds were comfortable, but the mattress on the pull-out sofa needed to be replaced years ago.
- 4/5
Tacoma has become a scary place and if you venture outside the immediate vicinity of the hotel after dark, be very careful. Otherwise, no complaints.
- 1/5
AC units right above my room on the roof!! Extremely noisy. Called front desk but they were full..... They should not be renting those rooms. I did not get sleep
- 5/5
Excellent customer service by front desk and valet staff!
