Nice park-side location. About a 15 minute walk to downtown and restaurants. They have their own parking, so that is convenient. The "king size" beds seemed rather small to us.

Staff was very pleasant . The room was nice and clean. Breakfast was decent. Parking could be better especially the drive between buildings but it was a pleasant overnight stay. I will stay there again.

Syracuse area and much more Reasonable Prices for a room compared to hotels a few blocks over; nice view of a park across the street. For vegans the Strong Hearts restaurant is close by and walkable to get there. And, yes, there was a free breakfast; coffee, eggs, sausages, Belgian waffles, bagels, sliced breads, Oatmeal, and cold cereal. Careful when parking, as the driveway is very narrow and passing traffic is fast, so wait till the traffic goes by and swing a little wide when entering the driveway. Friendly staff, very knowledgeable of the area and great with service(s).

Hotel was nice except for the lack of proper air conditioning. The person at the front desk during the evenings only suggest was to unplug and replug. It was very hard to sleep in the heat. They are also doing work that made it very noisy

I chose this hotel in part because of its proximity to Upstate Medical Hospital, but it also had really good ratings and reviews. It did not disappoint. It’s tastefully appointed, homey with a touch of elegance. My room was generously sized and sparkly clean. A lovely bonus was their breakfast which is more than cereal or pastries. There were mini-omelets and sausage patties in a chaffing dish which were good but barely warm. This is my only negative comment about my whole experience and one I can easily forgive. I will absolutely stay there again when the need arises.

Classic older hotel. Centrally located with quick access from the highway. Friendly and enthusiastic staff. Lots of free hotel parking in rear. Property is undergoing renovations in preparation for new ownership but we didn't notice. Huge room. Double shower heads were bonus. Check in was quick and easy, as was checking out. Room was clean and quiet. Small bathroom, but loved the double-head shower. Very nice hot breakfast. Better than what you usually expect. We stayed at The Parkview Hotel on a recent visit for accepted students at Syracuse University. The location was wonderful. We were a 15-20 minute walk to campus from the hotel, which was super convenient. The hotel decor is very dated and it is in the process of undergoing renovations, and possibly also a change in management (saw signs that Hampton Inn will be taking over Fall 2026). Although the hotel was very dated and in need of updates, the guest room was clean and the bathroom was well kept. There were three of us and when we arrived there were only towels for 2 guests. When we asked at the front desk for additional towels, they apologized that they did not have any additional bath towels, but did give us extra wash cloths, hand towels and bath mats. We found that a bit odd. We took advantage of using the fitness center in the basement, which had a nice variety of equipment available. In the morning, a basic breakfast buffet was available and included. We were given permission to leave our car in the hotel lot when we were visiting Syracuse University, which was very helpful. The location makes this a great spot and we found the overnight accommodation to be clean and adequate.

The rooms are a good size and is generally clean. It is a bit dates but is going through an update. We booked a room with two doubles and were informed at check in at 1 am that they had given our room to someone else and that my family (two adults and one child) had to sleep in separate rooms. They know from the booking that we needed the two beds and I feel it was wrong for them to not have the room we booked, especially with children involved at a late hour.

Beautiful building, and the inside of the hotel was amazing, the complimentary breakfast was so good, the only issue I had was that I put in a request for extra pillows and was told they’d be dropped off, I waited over 2 hours and nothing and ended up taking a nap, while I was in bed and wasn’t dressed and the door swung up and housekeeping walked in… I was extremely embarrassed and on top of that never got the pillows.

The room was spacious This is a very old property. It smelled funny. Staff was very unprofessional in appearance and manner. I requested maintenance on the clogged bathtub and bathroom sink at 6pm on Friday. I got back to my room at 7pm on Saturday and my bath water was still in the tub from the night before. I requested maintenance again, and once again no one showed up and I had to clean the tub myself because it was after hours and maintenance was gone for the day. The hotel was under construction during our stay, which would not have had an impact at all, but the elevators were covered in drywall dust. the back door to the parking lot was left propped open at night and we only saw one staff member during our stay. The room smelled like body odor - a lingering scent that remained throughout the visit. There was no body wash or conditioner in the bottles in the shower. You had to use your hip to get the lock on the door to engage and the heating system was difficult to control. I think our room was one of the renovated rooms. The bathroom was clean, but the smell of the room as well as the weed smoked in the adjacent / adjoining room was dreadful. Perhaps just a moment in time for this well located hotel.

This hotel is being renovated and was bought by Homestead inn and is being renovated. The manager Paige is fine and somewhat helpful and other staff are too young to be in charge and don’t know what they are doing( not their fault!). Breakfast was nice and the room was clean and big. Air conditioning units are horrible and possibly as fire hazard with unchanged filters. I turned it off abc was freezing all night. So bottom line/ wait until it’s renovated completely and it will be a very nice place. It had potential, but until then go somewhere else. They are also not register with the Better Business Bureau because they do not pass their requirements. This is a red flag! Also they overbook because for some reason they do not know any reservation from a third party like Travelocity or Expedia.

Parking lot has a lot of construction debris and was a bit hard to find a space. Literally had to drive around bathtubs and get out of the car to move derelict office chairs to navigate the parking lot. Difficulty checking in when we originally showed up because nobody was at the front desk. We waited for 20 mins and decided to leave for dinner, and unfortunately couldn't get ready in the hotel as planned. Considered getting another hotel but checked back and someone was working there this time. The room sadly was not super impressive. Many things worn out and broken, especially the beds, bathroom fixtures. Lots of noise outside our window at 5am, no way to block light from coming in the windows made for a bad sleep.

Horrible experience. The room door did not close, it would not lock so we were at the mercy of whoever wanted to come in. When we told the front desk staff they told us they were full and couldn’t give us another room. Then magically at 7pm a room “opened up” and we were given keys only to walk into someone else’s room, who were very much still staying there. When we told the front desk his first question was “did you see people?” Not, “I’m so sorry” that didn’t come until we told him we wouldn’t be staying there. Zero stars, stay very far away from this place. I mean, we had a good laugh but that was only so we didn’t cry.

First, the check-in process was frustrating. The front desk repeatedly assigned uncleaned rooms—not just to my family, but to at least three guests ahead of us as well. This suggests a lack of coordination and quality control. While the rooms themselves are spacious, there are many maintenance issues that shouldn’t be overlooked. For example, our room door wouldn’t close properly and could easily be pushed open, which is a serious security concern. In addition, one of the shower gel dispensers was broken and unusable. Housekeeping was also problematic. If you leave the “Do Not Disturb” sign on past 9 a.m., even if you remove it later, your room will not be serviced at all for the day. This policy was not clearly communicated and is quite inconvenient. Overall, these issues add up, and the hotel does not meet the standards I would expect from a 3-star property.

There was a lot of renovations happening upon my arrival and one elevator was down being that there was only two that really took away from speedy navigation to and from my room. The room itself was okay just had a stale smell to it. Overall, the workers were nice and accommodating so I can complain there.

I stayed here in September 2025. We had a great experience. The only the negative was the toilet clogged without any reason. It was fixed with plunger. Fast forward to February 2026. We decided to stay here again. On the first night the toilet was clogged again without reason. I asked front desk for plunger but he said he didnt have one. Needless to say we left the hotel with a full refund. I learned that new owners took this over and clearly something changed. I would not stay if I were you. It is a shame because it is a classic warm feel hotel in a great location. But again non of that is worth the unprofessional behavior from the one person on staff for the entire building. STAY AWAY!!

Loud banging presumably from pipes all night long prevented us from sleeping. Lack of bath towels. We have stayed at this hotel many times and always liked it but lately it is hit or miss. This time was not good. There was practically nothing at the breakfast buffet either, we went to McDonalds. Staff is nice though and the coffee is always good.

Really appreciated the location. Very clean and pleasant staff. We had to change rooms three times, however. The first room's heater sounded like Chewbacca. Couldn't sleep. But the hotel was getting in new heaters for some rooms so that should be fixed soon. Our next two rooms didn't lock. The doors closed, but anyone could open them without a key card. We were moved to our last room, which was very comfortable. Unfortunately the room's microwave didn't work. Great location close to campus! Breakfast was nice and they stored our luggage after we checked out for a couple of hours.

Good - the hotel was in a great location Excellent restaurant steps away Nice big room with everything we needed including dishes, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. Bad - the coffee pot wasn’t cleaned, it had mold in it which we cleaned and assumed it was just overlooked at last cleaning. The heater had trouble getting the room warm but we had a corner room and it was unusually very cold out The free breakfast was very disappointing.

I’m sure there are fancier hotels in Syracuse, but the Parkview Hotel is conveniently located, has free parking, has delicious muffins in the lobby along with tea and hot chocolate, the beds are comfortable, the building is secure, and the staff is nice. While reviewing hotels I chose this one because the reviews were good and it said there was dining in and bar area. The images showed plates food and cocktails, none of this! Check in was nice, staff pleasant & helpful. Throughout the stay I realized a few things. The plugs on the lamps weren’t working they loose and had to pull the whole stand out to use plugs in wall. The 2nd day as we were leaving we met housekeeping in the hall she asked if we needed anything we told her we needed towels, washcloths and that she could refresh room, upon return 8 hrs later we came in & there were still dirty towels in a pile in the bathroom, no clean towels and garbage’s were not emptied. Later that night went down to get a drink and the vending machine is out of order. While waiting to ask where to get a drink cuz the front desk was checking in a new person I overheard the attendant say $50 for incidentals where they told me $100. The clerk at front desk did give me 2 bottles of water and the towels I needed.

The manager arrived at my door the next morning with the cleaning staff, ready to key into my room, in spite of the fact that it was 3 hours prior to checkout time and I had the do not disturb on my door. I had to get up and get dressed while the manager waited outside my door. She was rather unfriendly as she said she had no records of me and I needed to tell her who I was. She left to go investigate. I then received confirmation that I had been booked by her for another night at the hotel, paid with my visa. Calling the front desk to complain, she was rude and unapologetic. I’m leaving this hotel assuming I will need to dispute the charges on a second night I gave no authorization for, and certainly didn’t approve using my credit card. I had stayed once before and it was perfect. Can’t say the same for this stay. Rude, unprofessional behavior by the manager completely ruined my stay. I was offered no compensation or even a warm demeanor.

The room I was assigned has a "silent" fire alarm that supposedly sent an alert to the fire department indicating there was smoke in my room. The front desk attendant came to my room, questioning me. The next day, the same lady came back to my room and questioned me about payment. My room was booked and prepaid through Expedia. She claimed the phone wasn't working as her reason for coming back up to my room. Not huge issues, but definitely bothersome and suspicious.

Room was not ready at midnight when we went to check in. Only 2 staff members working and when they finally said room was ready - it was not cleaned. Used towels in bathroom, garbage on night stand, hair in sink. The check in staff member offered to clean it, but we decided to leave and find another hotel. The front staff at this hotel is VERY nice. However, the rooms are dated and beat up and I found hair all over my bathroom in the shower and all over the floor. Upon checking in, Ken was at the front desk and he wants to be so nice but is not adequate to handle the front desk. It was check in time and rooms where not clean yet, they ran out of King rooms that people had booked, they couldn’t find the Expedia rooms, and the woman that came out to help treated Ken terribly and her attitude was horrendous. No one tells you where the parking is - would be helpful if it was on the site. The room for the price - yeah, not so great, very basic and very worn down - feels like the pictures are a façade. My room had a lot of outside noise from the clean closet right next to it and the elevator. Also, for a single traveler- there definitely needs to be some more locks/security on the door. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again even though it’s super close to the venue.

One thing that should be easy to fix is that there is a smoking area just out the door to the parking lot. I have a major tobacco allergy, and it was a really nasty surprise to get a huge dose of cigarette smoke on the way to my car. Moving the smoking area 10-15 feet away would help a lot.

We had an exceptional stay. We stayed for two nights. When we first arrived to check in, there had been a glitch leaving us with a reservation, but no room. Desk associate, Ianna went above and beyond, calling sister hotels trying to find us a room. As it turned out, a room was found within the Parkview itself. Our room was on the first floor, not my favorite, but it was late and we just wanted to rest. The room was huge, clean and comfortable. We asked the desk how to adjust the air conditioner and making sure the desk was covered, Ianna came back to the room, got down on the floor and walked us through us how to work the AC, which led to adjusting the TV, as it was not turning on with the remote. After ensuring that the TV was working she told us to just ask if we needed anything. This hotel is quiet, spacious and comfortable. The staff is friendly, helpful and very efficient. Even with more than a few whiny guests, mainly complaining about breakfast, the staff remained friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, replenished regularly ( perhaps not as frequently as those plowing through it like angry cows, would have liked ) and available through the entire time. Those complaining the loudest expected fresh eggs 15 minutes before the end of breakfast hours although there was plenty of pastries, muffins and waffles still available. I do want to add that Ianna is exactly the kind of person a guest needs when traveling. We will definitely be staying at the Parkview again.

Older but ok facility, only one working elevator is problematic, but the absolutely worse breakfast experience you could imagine. If you weren't one of the earliest diners, you wouldn't get fed. They even ran out of forks and spoons for a whole day because they were waiting on a delivery.

The property is old but very well kept. It is immaculately clean. The staff is not as friendly as we are used to also they ran out of coffee, orange juice, forks , sausage or bacon at breakfast this am. We were told that having a spoon and knife was sufficient. Then they ran out of spoons. Needless to say breakfast was not good and the entire dining room was talking about it.

The bed is a clean, new 10” mattress, no topper, so quite firm. Very hard to get comfortable. The pillows are postage size and not varied, all squishy. The linens are old at best, it’s a sheet, a light covering with another sheet on top. No duvet. The furniture is goodwill. Just straight out, old furniture, not nice or comfortable. The towels were from the local prison? They were quite scratchy, tiny, zero softness. I was like, is this hotel California…where you check in but never check out? Felt like a prison sentence in the bathroom. Tiny sink, no room to put stuff. No dish for the soap. Toilets very low, have good knees or forget about it. The staff were nice, mostly pretty responsive. Again, 2 star property, 2 star service level. Coffee 24/7 in lobby. Decent continental breakfast. Area is not too walkable, though great deli just up the alley. Overall, unless you like 2 star at 3 star prices, I’d stay downtown.

The only downside is that the breakfast truck didn't come and the coffee was pretty bad. I think improving the coffee would go a long way. This is our 4th year staying at the Parkview for the Syracuse Arts Festival. It is within walking distance to our booth site downtown and allows us to bring our dog. It is an older property but we just love the beautiful touches, such as the Tiffany glass in the lobby. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. This is the first year the hotel offered breakfast, which was a typical variety of hot and cold breakfast items. The staff has always been so very warm and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of this hotel. We weren't sure what to expect but the hotel was charming and the double beds weren't too small. The two small complaints have to do with the quality of some of the towels - original towels were as threadbare and scratchy as a scouring pad but replacements were plush. Breakfast is excellent with several types of eggs but could definitely have more - i.e. sausages, ham and/or potatoes. We would definitely recommend this hotel in downtown Syracuse!

The room is set up very well. I appreciate that basic amenities are there - a light on each side of the bed, a good task chair for the desk, another comfortable chair for sitting. The breakfast could include more protein sources like meat and yoghurt. The desk attendant, Michaela, was very nice and efficient.
