    WE NEVER STAYED AT THE RED ROOF INN WE NEVER STAYED AT THE RED ROOF INN IN SYRACUSE BECAUSE ON 4/27/26 we received an email STATING THE HOTEL WAS CLOSED AND THEY COULD NOT HONOR OUR RESERVATION!!!! On 05/06/26 OUR CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED $128.10. WE HAVE REQUESTED A REFUND BECAUSE THE RED ROOF INN CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION ON 4/27/26 and WE NEVER STAYED THERE.

    It was absolutely terrible. It was advertised as a non-smoking establishment. Every room smell worse than an old bar ashtray staying in the room for more than one minute. My clothes had already smelled like it. The first room they sent me in the door didn’t even shut. I wouldn’t recommend this place. If it was the last roof available to put over somebody’s head a tent in the middle of the medium on a super busy freeway would’ve been a safe place to stay the night.

    No one at desk when arriving, had to call out for someone to check me in. Key failed to work in door, had to walk to lobby and call out for someone to assist me. Key worked but had to shoulder door to open. No phone in room to report TV not working, had to walk to report it not working. Told it would be fixed but never was. Room was only cleaned one day. Left room on Thursday morning, April 09/26 and told them toilet was not working. Came back to room late that night and found bed not made, toilet not fixed with strong odor from toilet because not being able to be flushed. Walked to lobby and had to call out for someone. Explained what I found and was told no one there to help till morning I immediately check out leaving two nights left on my reservation.. I think this RED ROOF INN should be investigated by EXPEDIA, Health Department, Fire Department, City of Syracuse and County and State investigators.

    The location and price were good and the front desk gentleman was nice. The only things I have to say are petty but I'll add them anyway. There was only 1 tiny garbage can, not enough towels, the pillows need to need replaced (very uncomfortable) and the light above the sink didn't work. Told you they were petty, but would have improved our stay.

    Found a cockroach in my bathroom. Had the most unpleasant smell in the room. Locks on doors were not very safe feeling. I propped chair under the door handle. TV did not work. Coffee maker in room but no supplies to go with it. I stayed for 5 hours and was out of there. I slept with my clothes on just in case

    There were 3 different colors of mold in the bathroom, the sprinkler was completely rusted, there were little holes chewed out around the baseboards from god knows what, and the shower wouldnt drain. Just left and didnt stay the night.

    Hotel was dirty. Had cockroaches, the tub was stained and looked like it had never been cleaned. The doors didn't work properly. The elevator was broken. To make it worse, there was a naked man and woman in a room with blinds wide open for everyone to see. We had kids with us and they saw them! Never staying in one of these hotels again!

    Honestly, I am not one to comment generally. The conditions were borderline out of an oddball hotel horror show. Conditions were subpar to almost delinquent. Dirty tub,.dirty sheets,.mildewy shower curtain and a door frame chewed up by a dog. In addition, the elevators were completely not working and you can tell that was the case for months. The phone were also un plugged. Very Strange and uncomfortable.

    My wife and I stayed on our drive to Florida. Facilities were dirty, old towel left in room by bed and garbage under the bed. Soap/ shampoo dispensers empty, no remote for the tv. Staff did get soap and remote when we asked for it. Rodent traps and insect traps all over in room. What looked like people living there were outside making noise off and on all night. Will never stay at a Red Roof Inn again.

    Busy weekend in Syracuse. I didn't choose Red Roof. It was all I could find for the date I needed. The staff did their best. Had to get a new room as room door was jammed. Highway and airport noise was an annoyance. If you're used to high quality hotels then this place is not for you. If you're female and solo, look elsewhere.

    Our stay at the Red Roof Inn in Syracuse was horrible. The elevator was broken and we were on the third floor with a toddler. The first you notice on the front door was a dent from a fist. Looks like the hotel "fixed" the dent however you can see it clearly. Inside the room, there were more wall dents. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and there was no mini fridge. The worst part of the room was there was no door knob on the bathroom door. I know on their room amenities; a mini fridge was not listed. But a door knob on a bathroom door should be expected, not a room amenity. Will not ever stay at another Red Roof Inn again. Horrible!

    -Elevator was non-operational, had to carry heavy bags up the stairs -We were laughing at how visibly broken the phone was (the receiver looked like it had been chewed by a dog, the quick dial buttons were all pulled out, also there was no dial tone so it didn't work at all), pulled away the nightstand to see where it was plugged in, and that revealed a sticky liquid spill, food crumbs, and a German cockroach under the nightstand -Hand soap was empty, but shower gel and shampoo worked. Shower was hot and comfortable. -A/C worked fine -You have to hold the toilet handle down for a few seconds for it to flush, it doesn't flush right away.

    Pet friendly I have service dogs that were accepted. Unfortunately there is a special event this week and I have to leave the premises because the hotel is booked and they need my room, kinda disappointed about that. Now I have to go to another hotel with my service animals.

    I arrived after a long drive just to sleep and continue on the next day. If I wasn't exhausted I would have left. The door lock was broken, there was NO soap, it smelled, and the air conditioner was extremely noisy. I have pictures of the soap dispenser and the door lock if. you would like to see that. Not a lot bothers me, but this was just horrible.

    No reflection on RRI or staff…I checked in at 3am due to late flight. I had been in bed 10 minutes when there was a knock at the door. There was a 40ish woman with pink hair, she opened her mouth and complete jibberish came out for about 5 seconds, then she walked away. I stood there bewildered then double locked the door. Found out from Uber driver next morning back to airport that this hotel is used for extended stays. Bless’em!

    We asked the front desk if we could change the room. The gentleman said sure, but the room on second and third floor are even worse! The only positive I can think of is the location, which is convenient and not too far from downtown. Overall just don’t even try your luck, spend some more money and stay elsewhere. I have never written such a negative review for any hotel that I have stayed in!

    Staff was very unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. Many issues with the property, room had an exposed outlet, card readers on doors wouldn’t work half the time or the door would get stuck in the jam if the card reader did work. There is no working phone in the office so there is no way to get in touch with the property unless you physically show up to the property and speak to someone in person. Nothing about this property is guest friendly, it is like they want to provide the least amount of amenities and security for guests while making sure they get every penny. Our room keys were deactivated more than once causing us to have to go to the office to get them reactivated. Would not recommend staying here unless in a state of desperation.

    I could have given this an extra star but they did me wrong right from the beginning. I have mobility issues so when at a motel I always ask for a downstairs room so it’s easy to pack and unpack during my stay. Tonite I was a senior woman traveling alone. The large motel, with around 120 rooms on 3 floors, had EIGHT cars in the parking lot at 7pm. But they somehow had NO rooms on the first floor. Or near the office. Which was complete BS. So the facts that the room was a bit dirty and the elevator buttons don’t light up so I don’t know if it’s going to go at all and the elevator is in a dark passageway and there’s no breakfast and no coffee in room and no Kleenex and no microwave and the remote to the tv only worked rarely and the parking lot was still icy where people had to walk around their cars all became BIG issues instead of small annoyances. I needed to get to my truck at 1:30am and not only was the outside hall completely pitch black, the elevator did not work at all! The heater/ac made a loud click, once every second, ALL NITE LONG! And it took 4-5 tries every time to get the door handle to open. I told the front desk lady when I checked out and her reply was, “Yeah, well” followed by a shoulder shrug. She swore the elevator had just passed inspection but they keep the paperwork in the office instead of in the elevator. I’m calling Code Compliance tomorrow. Red Roof Inn has lost a lot of my confidence and loyalty after this visit.

    The bathtub was such a terrible design. It was angled poorly and I nearly slipped twice and almost broke my neck. There was also no body wash or hand soap, so that was gross. We felt like we couldn’t wait to leave and get as far away as we could on a 1/4 tank of gas.

    The room was dirty and outdated. There was ONE hand towel, nothing else. On the bedcover, there was a human hair, an eyelash and a PUBIC hair! DO NOT go to this hotel.

    Parking gratuit, pas de petit déjeuner mais café gratuit le matin à la réception. Accueil rapide, personnel sympathique. Malheureusement, la chambre n’était pas très propre (nombreuses traces sur la literie, murs sales…), les distributeurs de savon et shampoing étaient vides… Le pire est à venir, âmes sensibles d’astenir… J’ai arreté de compter à 15 le nombre de cafards que j’ai tué, la chambre en été infestée… Innadmissible pour n’importe quel hôtel qu’il soit de luxe ou simplement un motel… La chambre était la 315, j’espère que le necessaire sera fait pour que cela ne se reproduise pas pour d’autres clients… La literie était confortable (il n’y avait pas de cafard dans le lit, seulement sur les murs et les meubles, heureusement…). Le wifi est fonctionnel. Ca n’est pas ma première visite dans un RED ROOF INN mais je suis vraiment déçu du manque d’entretien et d’hygiène…

    Had some crackers in a bag my son was eating from and I found a bug crawling into it… possibly an ant? I just closed the bag and threw it out. My only complaint would be the pillows. Extremely flat - 2 on top of each other barely equaled a normal size pillow.

    1st room had an inoperable door lock with no security latch. Not immediately repaired. 2nd room had no water at the lavoratory with parts on the floor. 3rd (and final) room had a faulty toilet tank level valve which was repaired quickly.. Manager agreed to a partial refund but travelocity was unable to reach to verify and therefo re subsequently no refund was issued. Obviously, i can't recommend this facility nor travelocity for any future relations. PS: towels for the 2nd guest were extra $.

    Cockroaches in the rooms, doors that wouldnt close to the bathroom, trash under the beds from previous guests (waterbottles, food wrappers), blood on the dingy sheets from what looked like needle injections, no sheet replacements at 930pm because they all needed to be washed no extra clean blankets also only one staff member on the premise, sketchy people all around…. Do NOT stay here. They dont even answer the phone. The BBB needs to shut this place down

    Arrived late in the day. Was assigned a room which was occupied and therefore couldn't get in. Was assigned a second room which we got into. Decided I wanted to bring the car closer, but when i tried to exit the room the inside handle broke. I tried to reattach it to the spindle but failed. My wife then climbed out the window and went to the desk. If she had not been able to get out the window we woould have been stuck there forever!! We were then assigned a third room which had only a hand towel for the two of us. At 1:00 am it was very agrivating!!!

    i wish i could upload photos to show how the property had roaches and bed bugs which caused me to check out extremely early. not to mention, the cleanliness of the rooms. check in staff was unpleasant, and had a attitude. check out staff wasn’t even behind the desk and didn’t seem to care about the quality of my stay. WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. traumatized is an understatement.

    We are sleeping and the cockroach is walking on top of you and everything else, the bathrooms and air conditioning is throwing water everywhere in the bathroom and the room. Worst hotel I have ever been to.

    One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Bugs in all of the rooms as we tried to switch rooms to see if it was any better. Sheets had not been changed since previous guests were there. Brown stains on all of the towels. There were people, loitering, harassing other guests, checking in. In all, it was disgusting.

    To open the door, you had to throw your body into it. There were holes in the blanket. Lighting was awful and most had no covers. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and sink area. They ran out of towels, so we had to go to the front desk to even get 2 (none were in the room). Stains in the shower/tub. Uncomfortable beds and pillows. The only nice thing was they offered a full refund because of the bugs. Never again!
