Reviews
The hotel is generally well-received for its friendly staff and convenient location, with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. However, there are mixed reviews about the cleanliness and condition of the rooms, with some guests reporting dirty windows, stained carpets, and uncomfortable beds. The lack of certain amenities, such as a proper restaurant, microwave in the room, and safes for securing valuables, is also a common complaint.

Very relaxing. Black out curtains worked well to allow us to sleep in.
- 4/5
Good location with restaurants and a museum nearby. Very clean. Ample street parking nearby. I would not choose this hotel again for one reason -the noise! My room overlooked the street. There was a bar across the street and there were rowdy customers spilling out late on a Sunday night that lasted for a while, then there was the traffic driving by and the garbage trucks that woke me in the morning. The windows are not soundproof enough so it was difficult to sleep. Otherwise a very nice place to stay.

Fantastic for graduation!
- 4/5
Just an overnight stay but everything was satisfactory except we could not adjust the heat & when we contacted front desk there was no maintenance person available so we just turned it off completely. Not a problem this time of year. Oh & a mirror in the main room would be helpful as well - maybe above the amenities area.

Great location! Clean. For the price breakfast should be included as well as parking.

Good value for the money, spacious room and nice, clean common spaces. Was hoping for more secure parking but this does not seem to be available in this area of the city.
- 4/5
Staff were excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. Wouldn’t include breakfast for a fee next time because it’s very restrictive. Parking is convenient and safe but is an additional hefty fee. Location is ideal for walking to everything around Armory Square.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, parking you pay 19.00 per day but made it easy to park so worth it,
- 3/5
The pool area was small, bur it was good for the kids. The staff was nice, and check in/out was easy. Our room was fine, there was a big crack in the shower wall and the bed wasn't the most comfortable. This was our 2nd time staying here, because it is right in the downtown area and it is easy to walk to places. All in all this is a decent hotel, but I have definitely been to better hotels for a similar or lower price.
- 4/5
Honestly i liked most things. The parking was good but I was a little confused if it was a part of the hotel property because how I entered it. I entered from the west side of Fayette St so I couldnt see that it was attached to the hotel. Turns out it was and was also super convenient.
- 4/5
Location was cool and in a hip spot. The room was awesome for a solo traveler. Had everything I needed and lots of cool lighting to play with. I appreciated that there was some recessed lighting for evening. Staff was very friendly nice and helpful. Good coffee in the morning. I liked the starbucks cafe downstairs. It was good. Liked th elobby. Honestly i liked most things. The parking was good but I was a little confused if it was a part of the hotel property because how I entered it. Clean room and nice staff. Room was very comfortable and quiet.
- 3/5
There was not a ton of on site parking. Room was nice though
- 4/5
The pool was very cloudy and very small. Not sure if the chemicals were off or what but it was a very milky white cloudy color. Room was large as we booked a king suite, nighttime noise was loud and all night long. Firetrucks, car stereos, honking, people walking and yelling. We were on the top floor but it just echoed between the buildings. Rough night sleep with all the noise.
- 5/5
Love the large lounge areas, wish the coffee bar area was open all day or at least open until checkout at noon. Overall we love staying here each year it’s close to the fairgrounds and we love being able to walk to all of the local restaurants

Good location to quickly drive to Syracuse University, with many restaurants and other businesses nearby in Armory Square area. Room was good, with closet space and empty mini-fridge and coffee/tea stuff, but bathroom floor was only *almost* clean. Staff was nice and helpful, but one girl at the desk talked so fast that I kept having to ask her to repeat herself because I couldn't understand what she'd said. Overall, it was a nice hotel and stay.
- 4/5
Bed was not the best and the outdoor noise until 2:30am was highly annoying.

Room and staff lovely
- 5/5
Staf was very helpful
- 5/5
Staff was fantastic. The only reason I dinged it for noise is the property sets downtown on a main road. If that bothers you I wouldn't recommend but personally everything else the property offers would out weigh that if it were an issue. I was completely satisfied.

The rooms are clean and well appointed. The hotel is across the street from many of the clubs. If you are younger this can be a great thing but if not, you may be kept up by the noise.
- 5/5
Great place! Very nice staff! Close to everything! Easy check in and out!
- 5/5
Great quick check in. Thanks!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, room enough for the whole family, and convenient location to restaurants, shopping, etc...
- 2/5
Stayed on, light over mirror didn’t work. Staff didn’t help when I called on stuff. They were “too busy” Parking lot way to small and dirty
- 5/5
Did not have breakfast
- 4/5
our room is clean and big and confutable, but they did not clean the room in 3 days during our stay.
- 5/5
Room was very spacious and hotel is in great location.
- 3/5
Facility is a little dated. Thermostat in the room didn't work.
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel, suite, friendly staff, many nice restaurants in vicinity. There’s a tiny bar directly across the street, which was extremely noisy both weekend nights - many people hanging around outside, cars, music with crazy loud bass. I usually sleep through anything. A shame because it’s a very nice hotel.
- 1/5
The lady checking me in didn’t explain the parking clearly so I was confused about what to do with the tag. Over all a bad experience and very expensive for such a poor quality room
- 5/5
Great Stay
- 3/5
Stayed there for one night.
- 5/5
Marriott quality.
- 5/5
Property was great. Check in was made difficult because Expedia did not send the payment info to the hotel, so I had to wait 45 minutes.
- 4/5
Staff was helpful, friendly. Location of hotel was excellent- walking distance to any place we wanted to dine!
- 4/5
Customer horrible
- 4/5
Close to many restaurants and easy walkability. The bathrooms were outdated especially the shower area requires a thorough cleaning. Loud outside noise on the 4th floor.
- 5/5
It was ok
- 4/5
Not sure if the quilt was a little bit smelling
- 5/5
All in walking distance cant wait to go back.
- 2/5
There is a bar right across the street which plays loud music in its pub. The sound reverberates inside the hotel room with occasional rattles. Could not sleep from 11pm to 1am due to this noise. One of the 2 queen beds was so saggy that we were sinking to the bottom of the mattress causing back pain in the morning.
- 4/5
Nice hotel with good rooms

I arrived on my room and the floor in the entryway had two saturated spots. Also the made bed had a soaking wet hand towel on it. I called up the front desk and reported it immediately to let them know that we didn't get the front the floor wet and that the bed needed. The sheet changed as we walked in and they never came up to change the sheet or check the issue
- 3/5
Lack of communication - room was not cleaned - towels not replenished - front desk staff lacked communication skills
- 1/5
I stay in hotels all around the world. When people are coming to a hotel they have traveled a distance and are tired. Your staff needs to be schooled on how to welcome their guests. HORRIBLE customer service
- 5/5
Staff was very respectful.
- 4/5
Very welcoming, attentive staff.
- 5/5
Clean updated. Close to the Dome
- 3/5
It was a bit loud
- 5/5
Bar staff was not very pleasant. Otherwise clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Our stay was very nice. The staff were very courteous, friendly and helpful. I thought the Bistro would have been more like a restaurant. It would gave been nice if they offered a breakfast buffet like other hotel chains.
- 5/5
Nice place and very nice staff
- 5/5
Good local bars and restaurants
- 3/5
The location is amazing for a visit to Syracuse University, but the front desk staff one person in particular just wasn't helpful every time she was approached via phone or in person. When asked to check in 3-4hrs early coming off a redeye, her immediate response was no. I responded the hotel isn't sold out so why not. She responded well a room may not be ready. Which absolutely makes no sense, if the hotel isn't sold out..Then when I called down and informed whomever answered the phone that I was ready for our room to be cleaned, I was told by the her that I can't have my room cleaned today. When I said I informed them last night that I would like to have my room cleaned, which you have to do, due to covid...although covid has come and gone... she told me one minute and put me on hold. Then came back and said ok, I see your on the list. The appropriate thing to do is check the list first oppose to just telling me no. I want nothing to do with anyone with that type of disposition. On a 3rd attempt to ask about a place for brunch on Sunday, I wanted to get her opinion and the hours of the place and no help there either. In fact she said she doesn't do that type of service and I said what like concierge and she said yes. I understand this isn't 4 Seasons, but no one like this should be working in hospitality..period! If Syracuse is our school, I will never stay at this hotel again..NEVER!
- 5/5
Beds can use some work. Very hard and pillows have zero support. Otherwise stay was first class.
- 4/5
Nice property. Easy check-in.
- 3/5
I liked the proximity to airport. I didn't like that housekeeping didnt attend our room and when we asked for coffee cups and towels we were told there was no staff to provide the service we would have to go get it ourselves. We called front desk at 7:30am
- 2/5
Plowing woke us up 1230am, noisy room neighbor woke us again from 230am until 530am.
- 3/5
Nothing
- 5/5
Excellent customer service and rooms are super clean and comfortable. One of our favorite hotels.
- 2/5
The staff were great and immediately got me a room with an accessible shower. But I asked if it had a couch and was assured that there was one. There was not. I was unable to sleep in the chair that was there and unable to sleep in the bed. It is now 3:00 am and my husband is having surgery in 5 hours. This is not going to be a good day.
- 5/5
Great location for all downtown Syracuse business
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
New, fresh, clean.
- 4/5
The room was almost perfect. The platforms of the beds were squeaky enough that it would wake up others in the room. But aside from that the parking was fine, the reception was great, the room comfortable (the heating/cooling vent was high on the wall and made very little noise). It can get noisy outside due to bars and restaurants, but we prepared for that with our noise machine and earplugs. We had a wonderful view of the city. We'd stay there again.
- 4/5
Customer service rep named Courtney was outstanding. Very helpful
- 5/5
We checked in @5. Our front desk employee was awesome! I didn’t get her name. Location was excellent to Landmark Theatre. Loved the Penny Pub and the Chinese restaurant across the street
- 5/5
Very nice, very helpful staff
- 5/5
Great staff, very clean property!
- 3/5
This hotel has a very calming design and ambiance; I really liked the style of the decor. Very nearby across the street and around the corner there are several good dining options. However, this is the first time I have ever experienced an allergic reaction of some sort to a hotel room. Not sure if it was the bedding or the air conditioning... every morning woke up super stuffy, sneezy, puffy and with very bloodshot eyes. I requested new hypoallergenic bedding to see if it would make a difference (it didn't) and the staff didn't seem to know if they had options... When I got back to my room after dinner, a pile of new pillows and blankets had been tossed on top of the existing bedding. No new sheets, and the pillowcases were tossed on top of the pillows, and only one of the three pillows was actually hypoallergenic. Now I'm perfectly capable of making a bed but I don't think it's unreasonable to have expected that the hotel staff would've changed out the bedding, and made the bed with fresh sheets? Oh well, the new bedding didn't help anyway, so maybe it was the A/C. Either way, this hotel wasn't terrible, and the design is really lovely, but I don't think I would stay there again because of this experience.
- 3/5
Conveniently located near Armory Square and several great restaurants. However, the hotel was dated and our room was average at best. Both queen size beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was dirty with a sticky floor.
- 4/5
Upon arrival, I was told that there was only one room reserved for me, even though I had reserved two rooms (and had record of it). Otherwise, the hotel was very nice and conveniently located near several restaurants.
- 2/5
In truth I found the experience really disappointing
- 4/5
Fitness equipment need to be fixed or replaced
- 1/5
First, 303 was a complete disaster. Bed was unmade when I walked in together with my 67 yr old father and 8 year old daughter. Wet towels on tub, tissue on the floor and towels are scattered in the bathroom. I booked a room with a sofa bed 603 the room that was given to us next did not have it. I asked for military discount, Vermona the night clerk said to talk the morning shift people. I spoke with Kristin, very unhelpful. I spoke with Tim the manager. He said he’s going to talk to expedia for compensation and it should’ve been yesterday but I never saw him. All he gave me was free parking for 3 days and I did not even park my vehicle there the entire time because I had to take care of my newborn baby that got admitted in a hospital nearby which is why I booked a hotel. I WANT A REFUND FOR THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
- 4/5
Armory square is trying hard to modernize Syracuse it still needs support. It doesn’t feel safe.
- 4/5
Room large & reasonably comfortable, though carpets feel like outdoor turf & bed/couch are hard. Shower & soaps okay, but conditioner holder broken off wall & just left in shower unfixed, grout in wall of shower tiles covered in orange fungus. "Keurig" really just mini single coffee pot. Quiet room, nothing special.
- 3/5
This time, the facility and our room were less clean than usual. We were also kept awake by street noise for most of the night. I think the cleanliness problem was probably a one-off as we have had good experiences in the past, but if you are staying here on a weekend night, especially with children, ask for a room on a higher floor not facing the street.
- 5/5
Easy to get to off the highway. Comfortable bed, clean room, nice bathroom and room layout gave us plenty of room to move around
- 1/5
I don’t recomend this hôtel!
- 5/5
Windows very dirty. Almonds from last customer on the carpet. Glass shower all dirty.
- 3/5
Friendly staff, new looking rooms, but sticky goo on nightstand and tissues looked like they had been shoved back in the container. Footprints on the bathroom floor likely from stepping on it after moppinf
- 3/5
Unfortunately it was just a poor experience .Booked a King and received a double Queen directly outside the bars.No remote for tv.Next day asked for a King room Checked online first .to be sure there were vacancies.Front desk said yes it would not be a problem.Came back later and we had not been moved. We then got jammed into a handicapped room that had full recycling bin , garbage and pink mold in shower. Also all the plugs had been removed at back of tv. Nobody cared about any of it. People working the breakfast cafe were great.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
the staff and cleanlinlees
- 5/5
I’m not sure what her name was, but she was a woman with short blonde hair.
- 5/5
To be honest, it was a lot better than I expected. I feel like the photos made it look outdated but the rooms were modern and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Walking distance to restaurants and shops.
- 4/5
The property is in a good location, very walkable. It is not the most quiet area, that is to be expected. A good amount of decent restaurants are within walking distance. The Tasting Room is highly recommended. Pastabilities is yummy too. The pool was nothing special. I did not use it. It was not appealing. Super strong chlorine smell. Very small. It is nice because they do have beer and wine that you can buy and take up to your room. Parking is pretty easy, lots of options and not super expensive to park. Lots of bars too..
- 4/5
Windows were dirty but otherwise hotel was clean. Very noisy area on the weekend.
- 4/5
Two big downsides - no safes in the room so couldn’t secure passport and laptop when out of the room, and the restaurant barely qualifies for that name. It’s just an open lounge area beside lobby with tiny menu that is just up on a wall. Not a proper sit down restaurant with proper menus and table service. It wasn’t good enough for a long stay. There are a number of restaurants and pubs within a few blocks but many of these were closed on Sundays and / or Mondays, which made getting food easily tricky, especially quick meals for breakfast and lunch. Business trips don’t involve a lot of activities outside the hotel and office so we really needed the hotel to have a decent restaurant on site. There is a small nook in lobby the sell snacks from. All staff friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The TV remote did not work properly. Even after changing the batteries it did not work well at all. I had to unplug the TV to turn it off. The staff provided the batteries and it work somewhat better, but not the way it should work.
- 5/5
Loved my stay.
- 5/5
Newly renovated, spacious clean room, conveniently located downtown...we recommend this nice hotel!
- 4/5
Staff was super friendly, hotel was clean and quiet. Only complaint is that the tv was bolted to a pull out swivel and we couldn’t see it fully when laying in bed. We also booked a king bed and it was only a queen. Disappointed, but we had a comfortable nights sleep.
- 5/5
The front desk lady was excellent
- 2/5
I paid for a room with a king sized bed and a full sized convertible sofa. What I received was a queen sized bed and an offer for a cot. The refrigerator did not work well, and my dinner leftovers were spoiled by the morning. There was an offer to make amends by giving vouchers for the bistro in the lobby but we were not informed that the bistro would close by 10 a.m., thus rendering the vouchers useless. There was no offer to reduce the already elevated price for the room due to the impending eclipse, despite the above-mentioned inconveniences. The staff, however, remained superficially friendly.
- 5/5
Relly clean place
- 5/5
Very nice hotel! Lots of nice little places to sit and chat around the facility. Rooms are recently redone and very nice! Staff was super friendly. Parking was a little challenging, but serviceable. My only real complaint was that the hinges of the shower door were not properly mounted, with everything being so new and recently renovated, the shower door and hinges should have been pristine. However I do know how rough some people can be on hotels, so I cannot say if this is representative of all rooms
- 5/5
Renovated rooms very nice
- 4/5
Didn’t like having to pay for parking. Did like that it was close to my venue and dining options.
- 5/5
Location
- 4/5
The stay was okay.
- 3/5
Location is excellent for downtown access. No one told us we'd be charged $15 for parking - so beware of that additional cost. The room felt grungy and not well maintained - glasses and ice bucket were dirty, shower had soap scum/hairs, the sink was disconnected on two sides (someone must've sat on it), no soap to wash hands, and the thin walls meant we could hear early morning alarms going off. Overall, the experience wasn't worth the cost.
- 3/5
This hotel is within walking distance to the Landmark theatre which is why we stayed there. Limited dining is saying the very least! It cost $14 a day to park. A fire alarm woke us up, thankfully no fire. Most of the restaurants in the area were closed until Tuesday.
- 5/5
Stayed one night but very nice rooms, spacious and staff was very kind
- 4/5
Parking was a huge issue. The weather was poor. I was on crutches. At point there was no parking. Someone was in a handicapped spot without handicapped credentials. Which I have the manager was wonderful. He was kind enough to let them park overnight in front of the hotel in the driveway.
- 2/5
Staff was great but pool was closed which we had tree children and was one of the main reasons we book this location.
- 5/5
Front desk staff kind and welcoming. We chose to add breakfast for $10/person. Excellent choice! Limited menu, included one hot or cold item and a beverage. Beverage choices were water, juice, soda or coffee (which was Starbucks). You order at the counter, with a choice to eat there or take the food to go, we chose to stay. Staff give you your beverage and a number to place on your table. Breakfast was served! Food was delicious, well temped and filling. The breakfast staff deserve a shoutout. They were very busy but did not lose their cool. All were pleasant and helpful. We did not wait long for our food. Very impressed, coming from a current chef and former server.
- 4/5
The price of the stay was affordable. I liked that we asked for rooms close to friends and they were able to accommodate us.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 2/5
Beds seemed to be old and hard, floor was dirty. I kept my shoes on until I went to bed. I will not stay there again.
- 5/5
Great hotel great location
- 4/5
Good spot to stay if you want to be able to walk around the popular downtown shops and restaurants.
- 5/5
It was walkable and you did not have to drive to where you were going.
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable hotel in a walkable section of Syracuse
- 5/5
Wish Starbucks was opened
- 5/5
Property was nice as were the employees. Electric sockets next to bed did not work which I needed for my CPat machine. Club across the street was so loud could hear their music in our 6th floor room.
- 3/5
But they were able to provide an extra bed after some back and forth discussions which we did appreciate. The rooms basically do not sleep 5 people even though the description says so. But the hotel location was good, close to downtown.
- 2/5
No shampoo in the bottle. Staff not accommodating
- 2/5
The mattress was worn out, made noises and very uncomfortable
- 5/5
Great!
- 3/5
Booked a double queen room that slept 5. Pics showed a couch. No couch, no room for a roll away. They did relocate me, but no linens for couch. Furniture, rugs were stained and torn. Property is old and not well maintained. Room was ok, but hallways smelled.
- 5/5
The room
- 5/5
Front desk staff were outstanding! They were all very friendly and helpful!
- 2/5
Ok place to stay
- 3/5
Was put in a handicap room. Wasn’t happy and asked why? Desk clerk told me because we checked in early! Check in was 3:00. We checked in at 2:45. He never gave us an option to wait for a regular room as booked. I asked to be moved and after a long disappointing conversation, we were moved to room as booked.
- 5/5
Great location right near Armory Square.
